How To See Good Days

1 Peter 3:10-11 Tells Us How To See Good Days

If you want to see good days, notice that 1 Peter 3:10-12 tells us how to see good days. Let's discuss the six ways listed in this bible verse to see good days. For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

According to this bible verse you can have a good day every day and lay down at night saying It's been a good day. And when you wake up the next morning instead of saying good Lord its morning again, you'll say Hallelujah good morning Lord. Now let's look at the six ways to see good days. After you read this bible study, Brother Bob says to everyone I hope you have a good day.

How To See Good Days
1) Refrain Your Tongue From Evil

The first way to see good days is to refrain your tongue from evil. In other words learn how to keep your mouth shut. Proverbs 10:19 says In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin; but he that refraineth his lips is wise. Ecclesiastes 5:2 says Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth; therefore let thy words be few. And James 1:19 says Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man  be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

Many people talk too much and have not learned to refrain their tongue from evil. A man once said that my wife speaks 140 words a minute with gusts of up to 180. Another lady traded off her vacuum cleaner for a cellphone because she could pick up a whole lot more dirt with the cellphone than she could using a vacuum cleaner.

Instead, live so that you wouldn't be ashamed to sell the family parrot to the town gossip. Let's all see good days and stop gossiping by making our words few without speaking evil. Jesus said at Matthew 12:36-37 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Don't Be Like The Gossiping Athenians

Don't be like the gossiping Athenians who according to Acts 17:21 spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing. Remember the sin of gossip is listed in the same verse (Romans 1:29-30) as murder, fornication, and haters of God. In other words, a gossiper is in the same class as a murderer, hater of God, and a whoremonger. Don't gossip because according to Romans 1:29-30 a backbiter gossiper is equal to the sin of fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness, murder, debate deceit, malignity, a hater of God, despiteful, proud, boaster, inventor of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant breakers without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful who knowing the judgment of God that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

How To See Good Days
2) Let Your Lips Speak No Guile

The second way to see good days is to let your lips speak no guile (defined as not being deceitful and crafty speaking lies). In other words if you want to live a happy life and see good days, be honest and speak the truth to everyone. When you sell a used car, be truthful and tell the buyer what's wrong with the car. Don't wiggle around the truth and lie like most politicians. How do you know when a politician is lying? Every time he opens his mouth. How do you know when a politician is telling the truth? When he says that another politician is a liar.

Don't be like people who speak deceitfully with guile by changing the subject to avoid an answer. For example, preachers who don't believe Jesus is God are good at speaking with guile and changing the subject. If you ask them Is Jesus God? Instead of saying yes or no, they'll change the subject and reply Well according to the Greeks and Babylonians idolatry and the concept of God is a vague interpretation.

Sinners who don't want to get saved speak deceitfully with guile by changing the subject. When you ask a sinner Are you saved, they'll change the subject and say I'm a good catholic, I go to church, or I'm a good person instead of saying yes or no. Right now don't choose to avoid getting saved through guile. It's either trust Jesus and get saved or deny Jesus and be damned. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again.

Let's all see good days and stop speaking deceitfully with guile. Tell the truth and be honest. People might say Well if I tell the truth, it will get me into trouble. But if you tell a lie, it will get you into more trouble. And one lie will lead to another lie with more trouble leading to prison and death. Just tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Take your punishment and get it over with. Don't hide your sin by speaking guile. Proverbs 28:13 warns us He that covereth his sins shall not prosper; but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

How To See Good Days
3) Eschew Evil

The third way to see good days is to eschew evil. This means to deliberately avoid and stay away from all evil. Proverbs 4:14 says Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men; Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. Years ago, a brother lit up a joint in his house while I was praying for him. Immediately I vacated the premises and eschewed the evil. Now when I minister to drug addicts, I meet them in a public place like Cracker Barrel restaurant to avoid the appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 tells us to abstain from all appearance of evil.

If you are truly saved, the Holy Ghost inside of you won't let you feel comfortable and become grieved at a bar or casino surrounded by evil sin. One time someone invited Brother Bob to a buffet inside a casino. When I learned that I had to walk through the casino to get to the buffet, I eschewed evil and deliberately avoided the buffet and the casino because Brother Bob used to be a gambler in Atlantic City before he got saved.

To the women reading this bible study, learn to eschew evil. Don't be like some women who scream at a mouse but get into a car with a wolf. Don't be like the woman who said I know that my boyfriend is a wicked sinner; but he's funny and he makes me laugh. Eventually he'll be telling this woman funny jokes from a jail cell in prison.

Remember you become like the company that you associate with. Proverbs 13:20 says He that walketh with wise men shall be wise; but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. In other words, if you hang around wild, crazy, and sinful people, you'll become wild, crazy, and sinful. If you hang around good, wise, christian people, you'll become a good, wise, christian person.

In the bible, Amnon became sneaky and sinful when he associated with his sneaky sinful friend named Jonadab. Jonadab told Amnon to pretend that he was sick so that he could rape his sister Tamar. Amnon listened to the wrong advice from his wicked friend Jonadab and raped his sister Tamar while pretending to be sick in his bedroom. Eventually, because Amnon did not eschew evil, his brother Absalom killed him and then rebelled against his father King David. This all occurred because Amnon did not eschew evil and avoid his sneaky sinful friend named Jonadab.

Avoid the Jonadabs of today who want to party Saturday night while they drink beer, smoke weed, and commit fornication. Instead live holy for Jesus while you see good days by eschewing evil; Obey 1 Peter 1:15 that says But as He (Jesus) which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation. Because it is written, Be ye holy, for I am holy.

How To See Good Days
4) Do Good

The fourth way to see good days is to do good. Galatians 6:7 says Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. What goes around comes around; If you're kind, forgiving and friendly, people will be kind, forgiving, and friendly to you. If you're mean, selfish, and grumpy, people will be mean, selfish, and grumpy to you. Galatians 6:8-10 says For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption (defined as destruction), but he that soweth to the Spirit, shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith (go the extra mile to bless your brothers and sisters that are in Christ Jesus).

Half of the christian life is to stop doing wrong; the other half of the christian life is to do good and bless people. Find some way to daily do good to help people. Bless the janitor cleaning the Walmart or Kroger grocery store with some money, help a neighbor buy food for their baby, visit the senior citizens and pray for them, and give the waitress at a restaurant an extra good tip with a kind word. When you do good to people around you, you will receive peace and see good days.

How To See Good Days
5) Seek Peace And Ensue It

The fifth way to see good days is to seek peace and ensue it. In other words if you seek peace, peace will ensue and occur afterwards as a result. Remember when you make peace, you're being like Jesus; but when you make war, you're being like the devil. Romans 12:18 tells us If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine: I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing, thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head; Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Matthew 5:9 says Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God. Right now say and believe one of my favorite bible verses at 2 Thessalonians 3:16 Now the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all. How comforting to remember that Jesus said at John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

How To See Good Days
6) Always Pray
For The Lord's Ears Are Open To A Righteous Man's Prayers

The sixth way to see good days is to always pray while the Lord Jesus hears your righteous prayers. Be like Harvey Phillips who always prayed to overcome his troubles. Whenever anyone saw Harvey Phillips, Harvey was always praying. When they left Harvey at a hotel room before he preached, the desk clerk said the entire hotel could hear Harvey praying all day long. When the maid cleaned Harvey's room, Harvey told the maid Do you mind if I pray in the corner of this room while you clean? Harvey laid on the floor praying the whole time that the maid cleaned the hotel room.

One time Harvey's wife was worried about their son on a Navy warship in the Pacific Ocean near California. Harvey told his wife he was going to the woods in North Carolina to pray from 12 Noon to 5PM for five hours. When Harvey came home after prayer, Harvey was shouting praises and rejoicing. Harvey said Praise God I just heard from heaven that everything is going to be alright with our son. The Lord lowered down Jacob's ladder and I climbed up Jacob's ladder over North Carolina, and over Arkansas, and over Colorado, and then I could see California by the eyes of faith where the Navy ship with our son was safely docking on the shores of the Pacific Ocean. At the church that night, Harvey shouted the victory saying My boys gonna be alright; God heard my prayer.

The next day while Harvey and his wife were eating supper, they received a telegram from California. The telegram from Harvey's son said The ship has docked; I'm OK; 3:30PM yesterday which was the exact same time that Harvey got the victory in prayer in the woods. Everything is alright. When Harvey's wife saw the telegram, she shouted praises for the victory saying My boys safe. Then Harvey's wife asked Harvey Why aren't you shouting praises? Harvey replied I shouted yesterday when I got my telegram from heaven after I prayed. Remember we serve a God that can answer prayer and work miracles. Continue to always pray like Harvey to see good days. Keep praying for Jesus to save your kids, parents, and your marriage. James 5:16 promises that the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
