Ten Ways To Live A Long Life

1) Fear The Lord Jesus

     The first way to live a long life is to fear the Lord Jesus. Proverbs 10:27 says The fear of the Lord prolongeth days, but the years of the wicked shall be shortened. Respect Jesus and accept him as God and live a long life going to heaven. Deny Jesus and refuse to believe that Jesus is God and have your years shortened and go to hell. Right now choose to live a long eternal peaceful life and get saved; Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess everywhere that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again. 

     Job 28:28 tells us Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. And then 1 Corinthians 1:30 says that wisdom is Jesus; But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. Become wise today and smarter than a Harvard professor by looking daily to Jesus crucified and memorizing daily God's Word that is Jesus and wisdom. Every time I've told a little kid to study and learn the Word of God to become wise, their grades went up and they became smarter.

2) Be Kind To All People Even Your Enemies

     The second way to live a long life is to be kind to all people even your enemies. 1 Peter 3:9-11 says Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing, but contrariwise blessing; Knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. For he that will love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil and his lips that they speak no guile; Let him eschew (avoid) evil and do good; Let him seek peace and ensue (pursue) it.

     Remember Galatians 6:7 says Be not deceived, God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap; For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption (destruction); but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. It's a true saying What goes around comes around. If you are kind and friendly to everyone even your enemies, people will be kind a friendly to you. If you are mean, selfish, and complain, people will be mean, selfish, and complain about you. I went out to find a friend and could not find one anywhere; I went out to be a friend and friends were everywhere. Jesus said at Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly; and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. I pray in Jesus name that we all can deny ourselves daily, be kind and friendly to everyone (even rude unloveable people when we are tired) so we can all live long blessed peaceful lives. Remember Brother Bob's motto for success; Avoid angry people and forgive forever.

3) Don't Covet With A Greedy Desire To Have More Money

     The third way to live a long life is not to covet with a greedy desire to have more money. Proverbs 28:16 says The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days. Covetousness is defined as a greedy desire to have more money. Therefore to live a long blessed life stop buying lottery tickets and gambling at the casinos. Remember 1 Timothy 6:10 warns us For the love of money (greed to have more money by the lottery or gambling) is the root of all evil; which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

     One time somone asked Brother Bob (a former gambler in Atlantic City) to eat at a buffet by a casino. I was told that the only way to enter the buffet was to walk through the casino. I refused to eat at that buffet because I did not even want to look at wicked slot machines and roulette wheels. People don't go to casinos to hear preaching; People go to casinos to worship money. Matthew 6:24 warns us No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (money). I pray in Jesus name that everyone reading this will choose Jesus and God's Word instead of the greed for money. Today decide to obey Psalm 101:3 and set no wicked thing before your eyes. Decide to take King David's advice at Psalm 16:8 and set the Lord (God's Word) always before you to have a long blessed life that avoids covetousness (buying lottery tickets and gambling at casinos).

4) Be Humble Like Hezekiah And Confess Your Sins Daily

     The fourth way to live a long life is to be humble like Hezekiah and confess your sins daily. Read how Hezekiah received 15 extra years when he humbled himself after Isaiah told him he would die. Isaiah 38:1 says In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, set thine house in order; for thou shalt die and not live. Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall and prayed unto the Lord. And said Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah saying, Go and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears; behold I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

     Learn a lesson from Hezekiah and daily confess your sins to live a long life. Every day say one of Brother Bob's favorite scriptures to build confidence in prayer and add years to your life. Every day say 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He (Jesus) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. When the devil accuses and reminds you of your sins, tell the devil daily I've confessed my sins to Jesus and I'm forgiven and watch the devil flee while you have confidence about your prayers. Like Hezekiah when you daily confess your sins, Jesus will add extra years to your life with great peace.

5) Be Honest And Don't Cheat Anyone

     The fifth way to live a long life is to be honest and don't cheat anyone. Be truthful when you sell anything and don't steal. Deuteronomy 25:15 says But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight; a perfect and just measure shalt thou have, that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. For example when you sell a car, be honest and tell the buyer about any problems with the car; And better yet try to fix any problems with the car before it is sold. 

     Brother Bob used to know a friend that was a stockbrocker who cheated people to get rich. When Brother Bob got saved this stockbrocker had nothing to do with Brother Bob. Brother Bob decided he would preach about Jesus instead of getting rich by becoming a crook with the stockbrocker. The stockbrocker embezzled millions of dollars and eventually went to jail. Brother Bob decided to be honest and instead gave away thousands of dollars to the poor and avoided jail. The result of Brother Bob being honest is a blessed website preachbrotherbob that has reached a quarter of a million with untold numbers of people all over this earth getting saved with our Lord Jesus.

6) Witness Everywhere About Jesus Being Fruitful For Jesus

     The sixth way to live a long life is to witness everywhere about Jesus being fruitful for our Lord Jesus. The picture above is about a parable where a fruitful tree will be blessed with a long life. And christians become fruitful and blessed with long lives when they win souls to Jesus. Proverbs 11:30 says The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. 

     Take time to read the parable about the picture and a tree that does well with long life when it bears fruit. Luke 13:6 says A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard and he came and sought fruit thereon and found none; Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard; Behold these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none; Cut it down, why cumbereth the ground? And he answering said unto him, Lord let it alone this year also till I shall dig about it and dung it. And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down. 

     Remember Nehemiah 8:10 says the joy of the Lord is your strength. And Luke 15:10 says Likewise, I say unto you there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. Therefore, when you daily win souls to our Lord Jesus you will rejoice, be strengthened, and live a long blessed life. One day soon, christians who daily win souls to Jesus will be rewarded with a crown of rejoicing in heaven. 1 Thessalonians 2:19 promises For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?

7) Get Saved With Jesus And Receive Eternal Life

     The seventh and best way to live a long life is to get saved with Jesus and receive eternal life. Jesus said at John 11:25 I am the resurrection and the life; He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live; And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die; Believest thou this. Remember the best way to live a long life eternally is to get saved; Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess everywhere that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again. 

     Jesus will receive you as you are. Revelation 1:5 says And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood. Notice that the scripture says that Jesus loved us first in our filthy sins before He  washed away our sins in His own blood. The scripture did not say that Jesus had to first wash away our sins before He would love us. How comforting to know that Jesus loves us first in our filthy sins and then is willing to wash away all our sins in His own blood where we become white as snow and perfect.

8) Honour Your Father And Mother

     The eighth way to live a long life is to honour your father and mother. Exodus 20:12 says Honour thy father and thy mother that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. And according to Colossians 3:20, 24 you will receive a reward of inheritance if you honour your father and mother. The scripture says Children obey your parents in all things; for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance for ye serve the Lord Christ. 

     The sons of Eli (Hophni and Phinehas) sinned and they died because they did not honour their father Eli. The name Hophni in hebrew means a sinful pugilist fighter and Phinehas in hebrew means a man with a wicked mouth of brass. 1 Samuel 2:22 says that the sons of Eli sinned when they lay with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. Because of the sins of the sons of Eli, God said at 1 Samuel 3:14 And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever. 

     The sons of Samuel (Joel and Abiah) also sinned and did not honour their father Samuel by taking bribes and loving filthy lucre. The sins of the sons of Samuel made the people sin and choose to serve king Saul instead of serving the Lord Jesus. 1 Samuel 8:1 says And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel. Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah; they were judges in Beersheba. And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment. Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah. And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways; now make us a king (Saul) to judge us like all the nations. 

     Now note also that Ephesians 6:1 says Children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right. Remember this means that if your parents tell you to deny Jesus or disobey the Word of God like Brother Bob's parents, obey Jesus instead of your parents. Brother Bob's parents told him to either choose them and their millions of dollars or Jesus. Brother Bob chose Jesus and yet obeyed his parents in the Lord. I respect my father and mother today and honour them but Jesus Christ and the Word of God come first in Brother Bob's life. Jesus has taken care of Brother Bob for 39 years; How comforting to know Psalm 27:10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.

9) Daily Meditate On God's Word

     The ninth way to live a long life is to daily meditate on God's Word. Deuteronomy 11:18 says Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul and bind them for a sign upon your hand that they may be frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt write them upon the doorposts of thine house and upon thy gates that your days may be multiplied and the days of your children in the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers to give them as the days of heaven upon the earth. 

     In other words keep talking about God's Word with everyone daily and you will have a long life. One time a preacher told me the problem with you Brother Bob is that you talk too much about Jesus and the Word. Brother Bob told this preacher while he leaped in the air; Correction I need to talk more about Jesus and thanks for the compliment. Psalm 1 says if you meditate day and night on God's Word, you will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, bring forth your fruit in His season, your leaf won't wither, and whatsoever you do will prosper. Therefore if you want Jesus to fix all your problems daily memorize the bible and listen to the Word of God from your favorite preacher on the internet.

10) Obey God's Word; Don't Rebel Against God

     The tenth way to live a long life is to obey God's Word. Jesus said at 1 Kings 3:14 And if thou wilt walk in my ways to keep my statutes and my commandments as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days. And Deuteronomy 4:40 says Thou shalt keep therefore His statutes and His commandments which I command thee this day that it may go well with thee and with thy children after thee and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth which the Lord thy God giveth thee forever. 

     Remember it's better to obey God's Word and live a long life than to rebel against God's Word and shorten your days. Proverbs 29:1 warns us He that being often reproved, hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed and that without remedy. Romans 8:13 warns us For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

     It doesn't pay to rebel against God and his preachers. 2 Chronicles 36:16 says But they mocked the messengers of God and despised His words and misused the prophets until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people till there was no remedy. Brother Bob is just the mailman delivering God's message. Remember Psalm 105:15 warns Touch not mine anointed and do my prophets no harm. Psalm 55:23 says bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days. Instead choose to obey Jesus and His Word respecting God's preachers and live a long blessed eternal life.

God Knows Everything And Yet Doesn't Know Four Things

     Today we learn that to understand God (The Lord Jesus) we must believe the mystery that Jesus is God by faith like a little child. We must believe by faith that at the same time the Lord Jesus knows everything and yet I'll list four things the Lord Jesus doesn't know. Use your heart to believe by faith in Jesus instead of trying to reason how Jesus is God with your mind. God (Jesus) manifest in the flesh is a mystery that must be believed by faith (instead of reasoned by the mind) to get saved. 1 Timothy 3:16 tells us And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness; God (Jesus) was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. Right now get saved by faith and believe the mystery of godliness that Jesus is God manifest in the flesh; Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again. 

     First we see that the Lord Jesus is omniscient (all knowing omni means all and scient means knowing). Psalm 147:5 says Great is our Lord and of great power,; His understanding is infinite. 1 John 3:20 says For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart and knoweth all things. Hebrews 4:13 says Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight; but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.

     God knows everything and even the exact number of hairs on your head. Matthew 10:29 says Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Wow its amazing that God knows the exact number of hairs on our head. Blondes haved 140000 hairs on their head while brunettes have 110000 hairs on their head. And after a blonde combs her hair and one little hair falls out, God knows that the blonde has 139999 hairs. Now that's knowledge.

     God knows everything and the exact number and names of the billions of stars. Psalm 147:4 says God (Jesus) telleth the number of the stars; He calleth them all by their names. God knows everything about us according to Psalm 139:1. O Lord thou hast searched me and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.

God Knows Everything And Yet Doesn't Know Four Things

1) God Does Not Know A Sinner That He Does Not Love

     First God does not know a sinner that He does not love. Romans 5:6 says For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; Yet peradventure for a good man, some would dare to die; But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 

     Jesus loved all sinners so much that Jesus died for even the worst sinners on the cross to save them. John 3:16 promises For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 1 Timothy 1:15 proclaims This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Jesus will receive and love all sinners; Jesus even loved a prostitute at the well who had lived with six men. After this women at the well got saved in John 4, she testified how Jesus loved and saved her and helped save many men in Samaria.

     Remember when you hear anybody say Nobody loves me; My husband, my wife, my mom, my dad, my kids, and all my friends don't love me. Tell them somebody loves you and His name is Jesus; And Jesus loved you enough to die on a cross for you. If your mother and father forsake you, remember Psalm 27:10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up. How blessed to know that after salvation, we are accepted in the beloved family of God. Ephesians 1:6 says To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the beloved.

2) God Does Not Know A Soul That He Can Not Save

     Next God does not know a soul that He can not save. The Lord Jesus does not reject anyone that accepts Him by faith. The only reason people are lost and go to hell is because they reject Jesus. Jesus said at Matthew 11:28 Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Revelation 22:17 promises that Jesus will not reject anyone who accepts Him as Lord; And the Spirit and the bride say Come; And let him that heareth say Come; And let him that is athirst Come; And whosoever (even the worst of sinners) will, let him take the water of life freely. Jesus said at John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

     The Lord Jesus does not know a soul that He can not save. Jesus is able to save any sinner from the guttermost to the uttermost. Hebrews 7:25 says Wherefore He (God) is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him (Jesus) seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them. Jesus will take you out of the mire and put you into the choir. Jesus can sober and straighten up the worst drunk or drug addict and get them preaching and singing in the choir.

God Does Not Know A Soul That He Can Not Save

If God Can Save Mel Trotter, God Can Save Anyone

     Mel Trotter was born in 1870. His daddy was a bartender. Mel Trotter like his dad became an alcoholic. Alcohol ruined Mel Trotter's life. He sold and lost everything he owned just to keep drinking. Mel Trotter was so wicked that after his baby boy died, Mel Trotter sold the shoes from his dead baby boy to buy another glass of whiskey. 

     One night while walking on the streets of Chicago, Mel got discouraged and decided to end his life by jumping off a bridge into Lake Michigan. On the way to the bridge though, Mel passed the Pacific Garden Mission where a preacher invited Mel to hear some preaching. Mel Trotter was so drunk when he went into the mission that several preachers had to prop him up against a wall so Mel could hear the preaching. That night Mel Trotter got gloriously saved for our Lord Jesus. 

     After Mel Trotter got saved, he never touched another drop of liquor. Mel Trotter became a great preacher and evangelist for our Lord Jesus and traveled everywhere winning souls to our Lord Jesus. They asked Mel Trotter What was the greatest event in church history? Mel Trotter replied January 19, 1897; The day I got saved. Mel Trotter preached the gospel until he died. 

God Knows Everything And Yet Doesn't Know Four Things

3) God Has Never Seen A Situation That He Can Not Change

     Next we learn that God has never seen a situation that He can not change. The children of Israel were treated as slaves in Egypt for 400 years. When they asked God to deliver them from slavery, Pharoah gave them more work; Their situation seemed hopeless; But God has never seen a situation that He can not change. The Lord Jesus sent Moses to the children of Israel and Moses freed the children of Israel from the slavery in Egypt. Deuteronomy 26:8 proclaims And the Lord brought us forth out of  Egypt with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm and with great terribleness and with signs and with wonders. Psalm 136: says the Lord Jesus overthrew Pharoah and his host in the Red Sea; for His mercy endureth forever. 

     Remember if you believe, Jesus can change a hopeless situation and fix all your problems. Jesus said at Mark 9:23 If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Remember God promised us at Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee, yea I will help thee, yea I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. 

     God Has Never Seen A Situation That He Can Not Change

Read How God Delivered William And Marion Veitch From A Hopeless Situation

     William Veitch was a Scottish preacher (pictured above) who lived during the 1600s. His wife was Marion Veitch. During the 1600s in Scotland, bible KJV preaching was outlawed. Scottish officials said that they would arrest anyone preaching the gospel. William Veitch ignored this wicked law and kept preaching about Jesus everywhere. His wife (Marion Veitch) told William to keep preaching about Jesus. Jesus will take care of me and the kids.

     One night while William Veitch was preaching Jesus in a cottage, soldiers beat down the door, arrested William Veitch, and took him to jail in chains in front of his kids and his wife Marion. There was no trial for William Veitch who went straight to prison. The prosecutor named Thomas Bayle hated all bible preachers and sought to hang William Veitch at Edinburgh Scotland. 

     Marion Veitch tried to visit William Veitch in prison after traveling by horseback through the snow. Marion waited all night in the cold so she could just see her husband the next morning. The officials only let Marion see William the next morning for five minutes. William told Marion I might not see you again; Tell my kids that I stood for Jesus to the very end. 

     Marion kept praying for William to be released from prison every day. Marion believed that God would deliver William from a hopeless situation. Then one night Thomas Bayle (the man that wanted to hang William Veitch) got drunk at a party; That same night Thomas Bayle was found frozen to death in a river. The next day William Veitch was miraculously set free from prison. After William Veitch was released from prison, William Veitch preached the gospel of Jesus Christ for 40 years until he died. Marion Veitch also faithfully served our Lord Jesus Christ for 40 years and died just one day before William Veitch died. 

God Knows Everything And Yet Doesn't Know Four Things

4) God Does Not Know A Better Time To Get Saved Than Today

     Finally God does not know a better time to get saved than today. 2 Corinthians 6:2 says I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee; behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. Isaiah 55:6 says Seek ye the Lord while He may be found; Call ye upon Him while He is near. Right now today get saved with Jesus. Don't wait until tomorrow or another day to get saved. God does not know a better time to get saved than today.

Abide In Jesus; Don't Be Lazy

 

Keep Living For Jesus; Wake Up; Don't Be Lazy

     Abide in Jesus and don't be lazy. Daily deny your flesh and keep living for Jesus. If you wake up and constantly live for Jesus, your prayers will get answered with great blessings. Jesus said at John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. In other words, if you daily stay in the Word, pray, and go to church (abiding in Jesus), you'll ask and pray for the right things where God will grant all your requests. Right now be blessed greatly and abide in Jesus;  Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again. 

     Remember the early bird catches the worm. Birds wake up early every morning singing praises to Jesus. Birds don't worry about anything which is why birds have bills but keep on singing. Proverbs 8:17 says I love them that love me and those that seek me early shall find me. Wake up early every day (between 4AM and 6AM) like the birds and when you seek Jesus early, you will find Jesus with peace. Remember Proverbs 20:13 warns us Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.

     Yes the early bird catches the worm. It's amazing that anyone who starts working a job at 7AM until 12 Noon will get twice more work done than if they slept until 11AM and then started working on that same job at 1PM until 6PM. Don't be lazy like the old mountain man pictured above sleeping by his dog. When this man's wife said honey I think its raining outside; Would you go out there and look. This lazy mountain man looked around for a minute and said Why don't we just call the dog in and see if he's wet. Now that's what you call lazy.

Keep Preaching About Jesus; Don't Be Lazy

     We should all learn how to be blessed by abiding in Jesus from preacher John Wesley. From 1737-1791, John Wesley preached 3 times every day for 54 years. John Wesley rode his horse a total of 250000 miles to daily preach the Word of God for 54 years. In other words John Wesley rode on horseback preaching God's Word a distance that would circle the earth 10 times. And Mr. Wesley did this before cars or planes existed on this earth. Now that's what I call abiding in Jesus. 

     John Wesley also was not lazy. John Wesley never slept past 4AM every morning for most of his life after going to bed around 10PM. John Wesley lived to be 83 and complained at the age of 80 that he had a tendancy to lay in the bed until 5AM or 6AM. Mr. Wesley wrote four volumes of church history, four volumes of commentaries, six books on music, and seven books of blessed sermons. Preachers should all be like John Wesley abiding in Jesus avoiding laziness.

The Bible Warns Us To Avoid The Troubles Of Laziness

     The bible warns us to avoid the troubles of laziness. Don't be lazy; Wake up and abide in Jesus. Proverbs 20:4 says the sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest and have nothing. In other words this lazy person says I will not mow my grass today because it's too wet; I will not mow my grass tomorrow because its too hot; And then he won't mow his grass the next day because he got in too late; and then the next day he won't mow his grass saying its too dark. This lazy man always has some kind of lame excuse to keep from working. He will not plow by reason of the cold or some other excuse and ends up begging with nothing. Remember 2 Thessalonians 3:10 tells us that if any would not work, neither should he eat.  Notice the bible says would not work (not could not work); In other words if a person is lazy, not disabled (and can work); If he doesn't work, he will not eat. 

     Heed the warnings of many bible scriptures telling us to avoid the troubles of laziness. Proverbs 15:19 warns us The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns but the way of the righteous is made plain. Proverbs 18:9 warns us He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster. Hebrews 6:12 tells us That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Proverbs 13:4 says The soul of the sluggard desireth and hath nothing but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat. In other words the lazy sluggard desireth and has nothing because he won't get up and work to pay his bills and buy food and clothes; But the diligent working man will get his needs met and prosper.

     Listed below are some lazy habits that should be avoided. A lazy person will buy a bed that will make itself. They are too lazy to make their bed every day. And some lazy people say Why make the bed up; You're gonna get right back in it tonight. Wow these lazy people forgot that cleanliness is next to godliness. Don't be lazy; Make your bed every day so it's clean to sleep in every night. 

     And lazy people today buy lazy reading glasses pictured above to read books while they are laying down. In other words they are too sorry and lazy to raise up their head to read. Please don't become a couch potato. It's a true saying that people that won't get up and people that lay in the bed all the time will never amount to anything. It's been told that a man was so lazy that he wouldn't work in a pie factory pictured above tasting pies even if they changed flavors three times a day.

And How To Recognize A Lazy Person

     Here are some wise sayings telling us to avoid the trouble of lazy habits and how to recognize a lazy person. George Whitfield said It is better to wear out (abiding and working for Jesus daily) than to rust out (being lazy and doing nothing for Jesus). Laziness is resting before you get tired. Lazy people are like blisters; They don't show up until the work is done and then only to aggravate you. A lazy person will say I've heard all my life that hard work won't kill you but why take a chance. These lazy people say instead of standing on the promises, we're sitting on the premises. These lazy people need to learn that idle time breeds wandering thoughts; the devil finds mischief for idle hands; and that the way to be nothing is to do nothing. Remember a lazy person is the workshop for the devil because an idle mind is the devil's workshop.

Lowdown, Awful, Zapped, And Yucky

     Don't be a lazy lowdown father who sleeps each day until 11:30AM while his kids are playing in the backyard unless he's recovering from sickness or working the third shift all night. This lowdown father needs to take all his empty beer cans in his backyard and take them to the aluminum recycling plant and sell them. Then he needs to wake up early each day and try to get a job anywhere to provide for his family. I tell people as long as you try to get a job (even if you get refused a job many times) I'll help you. But it's wrong to not even try to get a job for years and do nothing. 1 Timothy 5:8 says But if any provide not for his own and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith and is worse than an infidel. 

     One preacher said that the best pet for a lazy person is a pet rock. You just keep the pet rock at the house; You don't have to feed it; The pet rock doesn't require any upkeep; And you don't have to worry about somebody taking care of your pet rock when you go on vacation. 

     Here's some more wise bible scriptures about lazy people. Don't be like these lazy people. Proverbs 12:27 says The slothful (lazy) man roasteth not that which he took in hunting but the substance of the diligent man is precious. In other words this lazy man went out and shot something and he's too lazy to cook it. Proverbs 22:13 says The slothful man saith There is a lion without; I shall be slain in the streets. In other words this lazy man says I will not work because I'm afraid of a lion in the streets. And then Proverbs 19:15 tells us Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep and an idle soul shall suffer hunger. 

     Instead of being lazy, keep moving and abiding in Jesus daily. Don't be lazy like a puddle of water that doesn't move, gets dirty, and is useless; Instead keep moving and abiding in Jesus like a mighty flowing waterfall where you are always fresh, clean, healthy, and alive with peace. When an obstacle in your way comes up; Go over it; And if you can't climb over it, Go around it; And if you can't go around it, Tunnel through it; And if you can't tunnel through it and nothing else works, Just keep asking Jesus to move the obstacle and eventually if you don't quit and keep praying, God will move the obstacle. Remember quitters never win and winners never quit. A preacher once said that the secret to success is to do common things uncommonly well. It has been said that Coming together is the beginning; Staying together is progress; And working together is success. 

     I'll finish today's bible study with some more bible scriptures about lazy people. Don't be like these lazy people. Proverbs 24:30 describes the lazy man saying I went by the field of the slothful and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding. And lo, it was all grown over with thorns and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall was broken down. Then I saw and considered it well; I looked upon it and received instruction. Yet a little sleep, a little folding of the hands to sleep; So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth and thy want as an armed man.  

     Proverbs 26:14 describes a lazy man saying As the door turneth upon his hinges so doth the slothful upon his bed. In other words when a door continually turns in and out and goes nowhere, it's like a lazy person turning over and over on his bed and going nowhere. This lazy person turns over in his bed and when he gets tired of laying on one side, he turns over and lays on the other side. Don't be lazy and turn from side to side on a bed; Get out of the bed and daily live for Jesus. Instead of wasting your time on facebook and texting all day on a cellphone, do something on this internet for Jesus and win some souls.

     Finally Proverbs 26:16 says The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason. In other words a lazy person will tell you that he has all the answers to any problem, but he won't lift up his little finger to help you. These lazy people always have some get rich quick scheme where you can get a lot of money without working. In most cases these get rich quick schemes are crooked.
