Reasons To Rejoice

1) Rejoice About The Hope Of Eternal Life

     First saints should rejoice about the hope of eternal life. 1 Peter 1:3 says Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. After salvation with Jesus we have a lively hope of eternal life that escapes the torments of hell forever. Now that's something to rejoice about. In fact Colossians 1:27 says that when you have Jesus, you receive hope because Jesus is hope. To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. This hope with Jesus will create rejoicing with joy unspeakable. Rejoice and say 1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen (Jesus) ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory. 

     People in the world without Jesus have no hope according to Ephesians 2:12. This scripture describes unsaved people as aliens without hope. That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. Choose to rejoice about the hope with Jesus instead of this depressing hopeless world. Right now get saved; Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess everywhere that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again.  

     Now after salvation with Jesus, the bible tells us to always rejoice about Jesus. Jesus is the best thing that can ever happen to anyone. Jesus died on the cross so everyone could give their worries, troubles, and fears by faith to Jesus on the cross. Instead of drugs, alcohol, fornication, and money to relieve stress, we can cast our cares daily on the cross with Jesus (the same yesterday, today, and forever) to receive peace, joy, and healing. According to Hebrews 2:14 when our troubles by faith are on the cross with Jesus they are destroyed and disappear.

     Now after we daily receive deliverance by looking to the cross of Jesus saying daily I am crucified with Christ, we should always rejoice and thank Jesus. Philippians 4:4 says Rejoice in the Lord (Jesus) alway; and again I say rejoice. When that old tentmaker Paul started to write Philippians 4:4 God said wait a minute Paul, tell them again to rejoice just in case they didn't get it the first time. Tell them again Paul and write "and again I say rejoice". And then Paul said God I'll obey you even better and tell everyone a third time to rejoice evermore at 1 Thessalonians 5:16. Remember according to Nehemiah 8:10 the joy of the Lord is your strength so in every situation of life choose to always rejoice to receive strength to overcome this troubled world.

2) Rejoice About Your Home In Heaven

     Second saints should rejoice about their home in heaven. 1 Peter 1:4 says we have an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you. When I arrive at a Best Western hotel, the desk clerk says you can stay at the hotel because we have your reservation. But I'm rejoicing about the reservation I made for my home in heaven on April 23, 1982 when Brother Bob got saved for Jesus. Saints always rejoice about your reservation in heaven after salvation to receive forever your incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that fadeth not away. 

     Rejoice about your promised mansion that will be located on a street of pure gold transparent glass forever. Jesus promised at John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Remember saints are going to receive mansions according to the KJV correct bible translation at John 14:2. We are not going to receive dinky rooms according to the corrupt new translated NIV, RSV bible versions. This is why it is important to to only read and preach from a KJV bible.

3) Rejoice About Your Help From Jesus On Your Journey To Heaven

     Third saints should rejoice about their help from Jesus on their journey to heaven through this troubled world. 1 Peter 1:5 comforts us saying Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. No matter what trouble you face in this world, remember to rejoice with Jesus who will always give you victory to overcome any trouble in this world. 

     Jesus promised us at John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Remember that Jesus' peace is greater than any trouble in this world. 1 John 4:4 promises greater is He (Jesus) that is in you, than he that is in the world. Rejoice and leap for joy while you say Thank you Jesus, I always have victory with Jesus over any trouble. Rejoice and say 1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Rejoice and say 2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of His knowledge by us in every place.

4) Rejoice About Jesus Who Is Better Than Anything On This Earth

     Fourth saints should rejoice about Jesus who is better than anything on this earth. CT Studd said Only one life twill soon be past only what's done for Christ will last. Be like Mary who chose to rejoice in Jesus instead of rejoicing like Martha about completing chores and the cares of this world. Jesus told Martha that it is better to rejoice about Jesus than to rejoice in any earthly accomplishment. Jesus said at Luke 10:41 Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful and Mary hath chosen that good part which shall not be taken away from her. Ann Judson (missionary to Burma Myanmar) like Mary chose Jesus instead of any earthly accomplishment. Ann Judson said "A little while and we are in eternity; Before we find ourselves there, let us do much for Jesus". 

     Remember since Jesus is the Word of God according to Revelation 19:13 rejoice while you daily read and memorize the Word of God. If you daily read and rejoice about the Word of God, Jesus will give you great peace. Psalm 119:165 says Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. Jeremiah 15:16 promises Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy Word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart, for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts. 

     According to Luke 10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not that the spirits are subject unto you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven. Don't be like David who rejoiced in taking a census after a victory over the enemy. Instead rejoice that your name is written in the book of life in heaven where you have eternal life. Rejoice that since you overcome with Jesus after salvation according to John 16:33 your name will not be blotted out of the book of life because you are an overcomer with Jesus. Revelation 3:5 promises He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess His name before my Father, and before His angels.  

     Remember rejoice about Jesus and your salvation that is better than any earthly accomplishment. Like David say Psalm 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation and uphold me with thy free spirit. Remember the day that Jesus saved you and testify everywhere rejoicing about how Jesus saved you. We overcome the devil by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. The prophet Isaiah told us to rejoice about our salvation at Isaiah 61:10 that says I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He hath clothed me with the garments of salvation; He hath covered me with the robe of righteousness as a bridegroom decketh Himself with ornaments and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

5) Rejoice (Don't Be Depressed) When You Are Persecuted Because Of Jesus

     Fifth rejoice (don't be depressed) when you are persecuted because of Jesus. Luke 6:22 tells us Blessed are ye when men shall hate you and when they shall separate you from their company and shall reproach you and cast out your name as evil for the Son of Man's sake. Rejoice ye in that day and leap for joy; for behold your reward is great in heaven; for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets. Be like Brother Bob and when people persecute you and speak evil about you because of Jesus, find the nearest Walmart bathroom and leap for joy and be exceedingly glad. Remember according to 1 Peter 4:14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy (not depressed) are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you; on their part He is evil spoken of, but on your part He is glorified. 

     Be like the apostles who kept rejoicing and counted it an honor to be beaten for Jesus and suffer shame for Jesus. Like the apostles rejoice more and more with unspeakable joy while you continue to witness everywhere about Jesus when you are persecuted and mocked for preaching Jesus. Acts 5:40 says And when they had called the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus and let them go; And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name; And daily in the temple and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. Like the apostles, if you keep rejoicing through trials and persecutions for Jesus, you'll keep witnessing for Jesus. Remember James 1:2 tells us My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations. 

A Final Revelation About Abel's Offering To God

     I conclude today's bible study with a revelation about Abel's offering to God. Abel realized that God would only accept a sacrifice of a Lamb for a blessed offering. His brother Cain offered the fruit of the ground which was not pleasing to God. Cain said All the labor of my hands can fulfill God's demands while Abel said Nothing in my hand I bring simply to the cross I cling. 

     But note that Abel brought more than one lamb hoping that Cain would get saved and offer a lamb instead of the fruit of the ground. Note that Genesis 4:4 says And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings (note that Abel brought many firstlings lambs so Cain could also please God with a blessed offering). Unfortunately Cain rejected Abel's extra firstling lamb and went to hell trying to please God with works instead of faith in the crucified Lamb of God Jesus. Jude 11 places Cain in hell when it links Cain to Korah (Core) who went down alive into the pit (hell) after the earth opened up and swallowed Korah (Core) after his rebellion against Moses.

What To Do When You've Tried Everything

Like The Woman Healed From An Issue Of Blood

Trust Only The Great Physician Jesus To Fix All Your Problems

     After trying everything to fix a problem, like the woman with the issue of blood, just trust Jesus only to solve and heal all your problems. When many people give you advice about your problems, first ask Jesus about their advice and when Jesus gives you peace about your request obey Jesus' answer to your problem. Don't worry about people that get mad when you refuse to follow their advice. We only will receive peace and strength when we are in God's perfect will following Jesus' advice.

     The woman with the issue of blood learned to trust Jesus only for her healing instead of the advice from many physicians. Mark 5:25 says And a certain woman which had an issue of blood twelve years and had suffered many things of many physicians and had spent all that she had and nothing bettered but rather grew worse, when she had heard of Jesus came in the press behind and touched His garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

     The woman with the issue of blood learned that the Great Physician Jesus was better than any earthly physician. After twelve years of suffering with no cure from earthly physicians, this woman learned that it's better to trust Jesus for healing and got cured of her infirmity in one second when she touched the hem of Jesus' garment. Luke 5:31 tells us that Jesus is the Great Physician saying And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician, but they that are sick; I came not to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.

     Remember if you are searching for peace, remember that peace can only be found with our Lord Jesus. Romans 5:1 says Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. And Jesus said at John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you; Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. 

     Instead of looking at many health books on the internet to get healed, look to the best book called the bible (that is Jesus according to John 1:1) for your healing. Jesus promised us at Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; For I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. 

     Remember all you need for victory to overcome this troubled world is faith in the Lord Jesus. We don't need a 12 step plan to get saved; All we need is 1 step to an old fashioned altar of prayer accepting Jesus as our Lord to get saved. We don't need man's programs for salvation; All we need is the Man Jesus in our lives for salvation. We don't need religion for salvation; We just need a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.

     Right now get saved with Jesus and overcome all your problems in this world. Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess everywhere that Jesus is God, and believe in your heart the gospel that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again. According to John 9:5 and Romans 13:12 after salvation with Jesus you will receive the armour of Light (that is Jesus) to overcome any trouble in this world. Ephesians 6:13 tells us to daily take up our cross and look to Jesus crucified to put on the full armour of light to overcome the devil. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all to stand. And according to 2 Chronicles 20:17 with Jesus in our lives by faith daily, Ye shall not need to fight in this battle; Set yourselves, stand ye still and see the salvation of the Lord with you O Judah and Jerusalem; Fear not nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them, for the Lord will be with you.

     One other note about the woman with the issue of blood; Notice that someone told this woman about the Lord Jesus for she had heard about Jesus. Because someone told this woman about Jesus, she got healed. This unnamed witness will be rewarded greatly in heaven for witnessing Jesus to the woman with the issue of blood. 

     Remember to give your life purpose witness Jesus everywhere you go and try to save people everywhere. Paul told us at 1 Corinthians 3:6 I have planted, Apolos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth, but God that giveth the increase. 

     Pictured above someone witnessed to the Ethiopian eunuch by giving him a bible when he sought to worship God at Jerusalem (Acts 8:27). Then God used Philip to teach this eunuch that Isaiah 53 was speaking about the Lord Jesus. Philip was willing to leave a crowded city to preach to one black Ethiopian eunuch in the Gaza desert. Some man (Philip) told a man (the Ethiopian eunuch) about some other man (Jesus) and the Ethiopian eunuch got gloriously saved. Note though how important the unnamed witness was that gave this eunuch a bible. Because this witness was faithful and gave the eunuch a bible, salvation and blessings occurred for the eunuch. 

Notice That After Salvation With Jesus

You Get A Whole Lot More Than Any Temporary Joy In This World

     Notice that after salvation with Jesus, you get a whole lot more than any temporary joy in this world. Jesus told us at John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal and to kill and to destroy; I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly. Wow after salvation with Jesus you not only get life but you get life more abundantly. Right now rejoice and say Ephesians 3:20 Now unto Him (Jesus) that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power (that is faith daily in the cross of Jesus according to 1 Corinthians 1:18) that worketh in us. 

Finally Notice To Receive A Complete Healing

Worship And Thank Jesus For Your Healing

Like The Woman With The Issue Of Blood And The Leper

     Finally notice that the woman with the issue of blood and the leper received complete healings by worshipping and thanking our Lord Jesus. Mark 5:33 tells how the woman worshipped Jesus to get healed; But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her came and fell down before Him, and told Him all the truth. And He (Jesus) said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole (a complete healing from worship and thanks). Go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. 

     Pictured above we see that because only one out of ten lepers returned to thank and worship Jesus for his healing, only this one leper received a complete total healing while the other nine lepers only got their leprosy healed. Luke 17:15 says And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back and with a loud voice glorified God. And fell down on his face at His feet giving Him thanks and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And He said unto him, Arise go thy way; Thy faith hath made thee whole (this one leper received a whole complete total healing by worshipping and thanking Jesus). Like this leper remember to daily thank Jesus for your peace, healing, and strength to receive complete healing in your bodies.

Ways To Have Power With God

1) Look By Faith With Your Heart To The Cross Every Day

     The first way to have power with God is to look by faith with your heart to the cross every day. 1 Corinthians 1:18 states that faith in the cross with Jesus (the same yesterday, today, and for ever Hebrews 13:8) is the power of God. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it (the cross) is the power of God. Every day tell the devil Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ and my worries, fears, sickness, and all my troubles have been destroyed at the cross Hebrews 2:14. 

     Remember according to 1 John 4:18 perfect love (Jesus dying on the cross for our sins) casteth out fear. God defines love as Jesus dying on the cross at 1 John 4:10 that says Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He (Jesus) loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Today we see that many churches according to 2 Timothy 3:5 are having a form of godliness but denying the power (preaching about the cross of Jesus) thereof. These churches have no love because they fail to preach Jesus, the cross, and the blood of Jesus.  Whenever you have to speak or preach before crowds of people, look with your heart to the cross of Jesus and I guarantee that you won't be nervous or afraid. Perfect love (Jesus crucified) casteth out fear.

     And it's amazing that when anyone looks to the cross, it is impossible to think a bad thought because the blood of Jesus blocks any bad thoughts. Try this once; Look at the cross with your heart and bad thoughts can never enter your mind.  2 Corinthians 10:5 says to look to the cross to remove bad thoughts: Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ (at the cross). 

Ways To Have Power With God

2) Be Like Jacob: Keep Praying; Always Trying To Hold Jesus And His Word

     The second way to have power with God is to be like Jacob who kept praying and always tried to hold Jesus and His Word. Hosea 12:3 says He (Jacob) took his brother by the heel in the womb and by his strength he had power with God. Yea he had power over the angel (who was the Lord Jesus who appeared to Jacob as a theophany manifestation of God) and prevailed. He wept and made supplication unto Him; He found him in Bethel and there he spake with us. To get power with God, be like Jacob and tell the Lord Jesus daily Genesis 32:26 I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. Remember hold onto the Lord Jesus daily in prayer by staying in the Word of God (that is Jesus) to receive power because Psalm 62:11 says God has spoken once, twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

Don't Spend More Time Playing Than Praying

A Man Who Kneels Before God Will Stand Before Men

     Be like John Praying Hyde who also kept praying daily and received great power from God to win thousands of souls to Jesus in India. John Praying Hyde once prayed and fasted on his knees 40 hours straight for lost souls in India. Whenever anyone found John Hyde, he was praying. John Hyde would pray before he preached; then he would preach the Word and after preaching John Hyde would return to his room to continue praying. 

     The first year in India, missionary John Hyde vowed to win one soul a day and successfully won 365 souls to Jesus. The second year in India, he vowed to win two souls a day and successfully won 730 souls to Jesus. The third year in India, he vowed to win three souls a day and successfully won 1095 souls to Jesus. Finally, the fourth year in India, he vowed to win four souls a day and successfully won 1460 souls to Jesus. 

     Note another prayer warrior that received great power to win souls to Jesus named Edward Praying Payson. Edward Payson prayed so much for the salvation of lost sinners that he made two grooves in the hardwood floor by his bed. Every day Mr. Payson would seesaw back and forth agonizing about lost souls while praying for their salvation. Friends let's all be like John Hyde and Edward Payson and daily pray and witness Jesus to lost sinners. In Jesus name, I claim power and strength to my friends everywhere that choose to pray for lost sinners' salvation everywhere. 

     Instead of organizing a dead formal religious church, begin to agonize and pray with power for the salvation of lost sinners. Psalm 126:5 tells us They that sow in tears shall reap in joy (Are you weeping and praying with power for salvation for lost sinners?) He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed (preaching everywhere on this internet the seed Word of God) shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves (saved souls) with him.

3) Be Like Peter; Tarry In Prayer While You Wait For Power Of God

    The third way to have power with God is to be like Peter who tarried in prayer while he waited for the power of God. In other words, continue to keep praying for your requests and don't quit; Quitters never win and winners never quit. God will honor your importunity and persistence in prayer by granting your prayer requests. God told Peter he had to tarry and wait with prayer to receive power at Luke 24:49 that says And behold I send the promise of my Father upon you, but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem until ye be endued with power from on high.

     After Peter waited (tarried) in prayer, Peter received power to save three thousand souls and heal a lame man. Peter told this lame man at Acts 3:6 Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have give I thee; In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. History tells us that after the pope showed Aquinas all his diamonds, rubies, and gems, the pope boldly said Preacher we've come a long way; No longer does the church have to say Silver and gold have I none. Aquinas replied But neither can the church say with power in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. 

     Like this ancient pope, churches today have silver, gold, air conditioners, padded pews, carpet on the floors, cameras, and lights. But the church needs God's power to effectively witness, heal, and win lost souls to our Lord Jesus. Saints we need to get in our prayer closets and pray like Peter for the power of God to manifest greatly in our churches so saints can get saved, healed, and receive miracles.

4) Be Like Elijah And Jesus; Pray Privately To Witness God's Power Publicly

     The fourth way to have power with God is to be like Elijah and Jesus who prayed privately before witnessing God's power publicly. Because Elijah prayed privately God performed a miracle publicly before 850 false prophets of Baal by consuming a sacrifice with fire. Elijah prayed at 1 Kings 18:37 Hear me O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God and that thou hast turned their heart back again. Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice and the wood and the stones and the dust and licked up the water that was in the trench. And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces and they said, The Lord He is God, The Lord He is God. 

     Like Elijah, learn to pray privately before you preach publicly (asking other saints to pray privately for your future public sermon) and the power of God will occur when you preach publicly with souls getting saved, healings, and miracles. Remember the victory over the devil is won or lost before you get into the pulpit to preach. Learn this lesson preachers everywhere; Don't wait until the last minute to pray with others before you preach. Have many christians praying for your prayer meetings before you preach so God's power can occur where the devil will be defeated. 

     History tells us that whenever DL Moody or J Wilbur Chapman preached, hundreds of christian prayer warriors would be in the basement or underneath a tent constantly praying while Moody or Chapman preached. The result was that thousands of lost souls were saved for Jesus with many miraculous healings. 

     Be like Jesus who prayed privately all night and witnessed the power of God publicly. Luke 6:12 says And it came to pass in those days that He (Jesus) went out into a mountain to pray and continued all night in prayer to God. Notice the result of Jesus' private prayer where the power of God was manifested publicly (Everyone near Jesus the next day got healed). Luke 6:19 says And the whole multitude sought to touch Him (Jesus), for there went virtue out of Him and healed them all.

Ways To Have Power With God

5) Let Your Church Be Like A Delivery Room Instead Of A Funeral Parlor

     The fifth way to have power with God is to let your church be like a delivery room instead of a funeral parlor. Saints should be like a woman in a delivery room agonizing in prayer for the salvation of her newborn baby. Saints should be like the father waiting to rejoice without sleeping while praying when his baby appears. Like these parents in the delivery room, saints should be praying for the salvation of lost souls and rejoice when anyone gets saved and gives their life to our Lord Jesus. Right now Brother Bob like the parents in the delivery room is praying that anyone reading this will get saved. I rejoice by faith that this website will be read by millions everywhere and people all over this earth will get saved as newborns for Jesus; repent, decide to stop sinning, confess everywhere that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for them on the cross, was buried, and rose again. 

     Pastors reading this, don't have a dead, formalistic, ritualistic, religious church without the power of God. Don't have the same program every Sunday where everyone knows exactly what will occur at your church. Don't limit the power of God in your church by allowing discrimination, jealousy, and pride to ruin your church. Instead let the power of God occur in every church service through prayer and the preaching about the Lord Jesus, the cross, and the blood of Jesus where the love of God will be manifested with souls getting saved

Instead Let The Power Of God Be Maximum Where The Organization Is Minimum

     Like the parents in the delivery room travail in prayer for lost souls and ask the Lord Jesus to bring forth children unto God. Isaiah 66:8 tells us For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. Saints we represent Zion and we need to daily travail for lost sinners everywhere that they will get saved by our witness for the Lord Jesus. If saints everywhere will begin to pray (travail) for lost sinners, children will be brought forth into the kingdom of God. Lord Jesus I pray in Jesus name that you give everyone reading this a burden for lost sinners to get saved where we say like Rachel at Genesis 30:1 Give me children, or else I die. Remember Mark 8:36 says For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? One lost soul that gets saved is worth more than all the riches of this fading world.

6) Forsake The World To Get Power With God

     The sixth way to get power with God is to forsake the world. According to James 4:4 whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Instead of wasting time with the fading pleasures of this world, devote your time to Jesus, the Word, the church, preaching, and prayer for lost souls through witnessing. Paul told us that the power of God is not by man's worldly wisdom at 1 Corinthians 2:4 that says And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.

     Don't be like the children of Israel who lost the power of God by desiring in their hearts to return to Egypt (a type of the world). Acts 7:39 tells us To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust Him (Jesus) from them and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt (a type of the world). Today saved christians act like these children of Israel and lose the power of God by appearing outwardly clean while in their hearts they desire to return to the beer joint, pool hall, the casino, and the thrill of buying lottery tickets. Friends reading this deny this world and remember Paul's advice at Philippians 3:7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea, doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord. For whom I have suffered the loss of all things and do count them but dung that I may win Christ. And be found in Him, not having mine own righteousness which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.
