FORGIVE LIKE LOUIS XII AND BE BLESSED
READ HIS STORY OF MERCY BELOW
Pictured above we see Louis XII who became king of France after he suffered great indignities at the hand of his cousin Charles VIII. He was slandered, thrown into prison, kept in chains, and in constant fear of death. When he succeeded Charles to the throne, however, his close friends and advisors urged him to seek revenge for all these shameful atrocities. But Louis would not hear to any of the suggestions of these whisperers in his court.
Instead they were amazed to see him preparing a list of all the names of men who had harmed him before he became king. Behind each name Louis XII placed a red cross. His enemies, hearing of this were filled with dread alarm. These enemies thought that the sign of a cross meant a sentence to death on the gallows. One after the other, they fled the court and their beloved country.
But King Louis XII learning of their flight called for a special session of the court to explain his list of names and the little red crosses. Be content and do not fear, he said in a most cordial tone. The cross which I drew by your names is not a sign of punishment, but a pledge of forgiveness and a seal for the sake of the crucified Saviour Jesus who upon His cross forgave all His enemies, prayed for them, and blotted out the handwriting of ordinances that was against them.
Like Louis XII, see a red cross of the blood of Jesus by faith by your enemies and forgive them. If Louis XII can forgive his enemies after he was slandered, thrown in prison, and kept in chains, we need to forgive our enemies. If Jesus forgave all his enemies by saying on the cross Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do, we need to forgive our enemies. Colossians 3:13 tells us Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Learn a lesson from Louis XII and overcome depression by forgiving and forgetting any insults, slanders, or lies spoken against you by any enemy. Thinking about past lies and insults spoken against us by any enemy takes away our strength. A single evil resentment weighs more than a ton of lead. Proverbs 27:3 says A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's wrath is heavier than them both. Ecclesiastes 7:9 says Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.
Hate is the heaviest thing in God's universe because it is most unlike the disposition of God. Like Louis XII, don't carry even a little resentment toward anyone from year to year. Throw it away and wash the slate clean and begin all over again. Right now become free of your grudges and receive peace by saying There is not a soul on earth against whom I could lift my finger with a desire to hurt them. There is not a single human being who I have either the time or disposition to hate.
1 Peter 4:8 says And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves:
for charity (love) shall cover the multitude of sins.
Keep loving people over and over again and you will be healed
Love the hell out of people
Friends you can forgive your enemies by remembering that Jesus forgave you. Ephesians 4:31 tells us how to forgive by saying Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Remember to be exceedingly glad and leap for joy when you are insulted and slandered because of your faith in the Lord Jesus. Luke 6:22 says Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets. Think about how the apostles after they were beaten and told they could not speak the name of Jesus rejoiced that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for the name of Jesus. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
REMEMBER THE WORDS OF ABRAHAM LINCOLN
My kind heart is as big as this universe
but in it I have no memory of a wrong.
READ A STORY ABOUT HOW A GOVERNOR VISITED
A PRISONER IN THE JAIL CELL PICTURED ABOVE
Billy Sunday once told a story about a governor who went into a penitentiary to see a certain inmate. The governor saw that prisoner and sat in his jail cell. When the governor talked with the prisoner, he concealed his identity until the interview had ended and he was gone.
Then one of the guards told the prisoner, Did you know that the governor of the State was just talking to you? Oh my God, said the prisoner. Had I known that, how on bended knee, I would have pleaded with him for a pardon. I would not have let him go until he had pardoned me.
Friend reading this anywhere, the Saviour, our Lord Jesus like this governor is coming to you this very hour. And Jesus is not concealing his identity because He has scars in His palms, and His brow bears the trace of thorns. Jesus offers you a pardon written in His own blood saying Take it from me; Accept it by faith. Be more than pardoned; more than forgiven; Be saved and justified now forevermore.
Right now friend anywhere get saved and receive a pardon from our Lord Jesus for all your sins. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. Every day say I am crucified with Jesus Christ and covered by the blood of Jesus. Tell the devil that the blood of Jesus has overcome the devil, evil must pass over me, and the blood of Jesus has cleansed me of all my sins.
MAKE YOUR CHOICE
JESUS OR CONDEMNATION
Take time to read the two scriptures pictured above that speak about a choice between Jesus' peace or the devil's condemnation. First John 3:18 says He that believeth on Him (Jesus) is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Then John 3:36 says He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
To anyone reading this, it's time for you to make a choice: What's your choice. Either the peace of Jesus or the devil's condemnation. It's either the friendship of heaven or the hostilities of hell. It's either the splendors of a glorified noonday or the terrors of a black midnight. It's either the beautiful fragrance of flower gardens displaying the love of Jesus or the sulpher fumes of the pits of perdition.
It's either a summer's cooling breeze or a thunder cloud's wrath. It's either clouds that drench drouth plagued fields with refreshing rains or clouds that bruise and blast with heavy hailstones. It's either a sweet mother's lullaby to a fretful child or a solemn jury rendering a guilty verdict without recommendation for mercy. It's either the love of a maiden whispering her vows of fidelity or the voice of an anguished woman in travail. It's either joybells or deathbells.
MAKE YOUR CHOICE
JESUS OR CONDEMNATION
Choose Jesus' fragrant flower garden pictured above that is a delight to the eyes and nostrils instead of the devil's dungeon pictured above that is dark in the foulsome depths. Choose Jesus' crown of wisdom instead of this world's dunce cap from the devil. Choose Jesus with everlasting life and glories beyond words to portray instead of the devil's wrath and eternal torment. Choose Jesus' offer of coronation and enthronement instead of the devil's coffin and entombment.
A POEM TITLED I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY
I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard
I felt the answer in my heart
Although He spoke not a word
I didn't ask for wealth or fame
I knew you wouldn't mind
I asked for priceless treasure rare
Of a more long lasting kind
I prayed that He'd be near to you
At the start of each new day
To grant you health and blessing fair
And friends to bless your way
I asked for happiness for you in all things
great and small
But that you'd know His loving care
I prayed for most of all
