Examples Of Heroic Faith

Let's learn about several heroes of faith that I pray in Jesus name will teach us how to walk with our Lord Jesus. First, pictured above we see the disciple Peter who caught fish on the sea of Galiliee. One day at the call of the mighty one from Nazareth named Jesus, he left his nets and followed Jesus whose only promise was that he should fish for men.

Matthew 4:18 says And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And He saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed Him.

Jesus told Peter to launch out into the deep and leave his comfortable job and home to win souls for Jesus. Peter fully obeyed and pictured above on the day of Pentecost, Peter threw out the gospel net, and 3000 men squirming under the conviction of sin were landed for God.

I pray in Jesus name that anyone who ever reads this will be like Peter and be willing to launch out into the deep (taking time to tell everyone about the Lord Jesus) and become fishers of men winning souls to our Lord Jesus. Like Peter, make a voyage under the good hand of God from the shallows of just catching fish, (to taking time out of our schedules to witness Jesus to lost sinners) on a voyage of winning souls and catching men for God.

Right now, Brother Bob like Peter is throwing out the gospel net to anyone on this earth who reads this story. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. Daily say I am crucified with Jesus Christ and covered by the blood of Jesus. Tell the devil daily, the blood of Jesus has overcome you, evil must pass over me, and the blood of Jesus has cleansed me of all my sins. And remember after you get saved. to give your life purpose and meaning, like Peter, win souls to our Lord Jesus. Proverbs 11:30 says The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Pictured above we see a hero of faith named William Carey who was the first missionary to the people of India. William Carey was willing to leave England and sail on a boat all the way to India to preach the gospel of Jesus and win souls. Mr. Carey was willing to travel months on a ship over the stormy seas to see lost sinners in India get saved when no planes and cars existed in 1793.

On May 31, 1792 William Carey preached a blessed sermon at Nottingham, England that gave rise to our modern missionary movement. Right now say William Carey's blessed sermon and be willing to reach out to save lost sinners all over this earth for our Lord Jesus. Say Expect Great Things From God; Attempt Great Things For God. When William Carey arrived in India, he put this sermon into practice.

On November 11, 1793, the very day when the French revolutionists tore down the cross from Notre Dame, France and smashed it in the streets, celebrating atheism while they mocked Christianity, William Carey landed at Calcutta, India and claimed the continent of Asia for our Lord Jesus.

William Carey was determined to translate the bible into the many languages spoken in India. When William tried to witness Jesus to the people of India, his little son died. Then William Carey's wife became insane and almost killed William one night. After William Carey's wife died, William continued to have faith and got remarried, while he kept on witnessing to the lost sinners of India.

After William Carey became a master of a dozen languages spoken by the people of India, he met a friend who helped him buy a printing press to print and distribute the bible he translated to thousands of Indian people in their own native languages. And William Carey built one of the finest colleges in India to train people about Jesus.

Today because of William Carey, millions of people in India are saved and believe in the Lord Jesus, having legible bibles in their own Indian native languages. William Carey truly is one of Brother Bob's heroes who voyaged from a mere thinking of great things to mighty achievements for God.  Like William Carey put your thoughts to save the lost for Jesus into practice and use this internet like Brother Bob to tell people all over this earth about our Lord Jesus.

A Blessed Quote From Amy Carmichael
Who Was A Great Missionary To India
Keep Witnessing And Preaching Jesus Everywhere At All Times

We will have all eternity to celebrate our victories
But only a few short hours to win them
Excuses will always be plentiful, opportunities won't

Our next hero of faith pictured above is Adoniram Judson who was a missionary to Burma (now Myanmar) in the 1800s. Adoniram and his wife Ann Hasseltine Judson decided to travel months by boat over the Atlantic Ocean from America to Burma to win lost souls to our Lord Jesus. We shouldn't say we don't have time to witness for Jesus when Adoniram was willing to travel months over the stormy seas by boat to Burma to win lost souls for our Lord Jesus. When Adoniram Judson set his face toward Burma, there were great pulpits wanting him. And some, when he, with his wonderful voice, turned aside from these offers called his burning desire for the foreign land a wild nightmare of a disordered brain.

When Adoniram arrived at Burma, he discovered that England was at war with the tribes of Burma. The king of Burma thought Adoniram was an enemy and locked Adoniram up in a lonely prison cell. But after England won the war with Burma, Adoniram was released from prison and able to witness Jesus to the native people of Burma. It took six years for Adoniram to win his first Burmese convert to Jesus. Like Adoniram remember to rejoice when just one soul is converted to our Lord Jesus. Jesus said at Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that  repenteth. Today say I will at least win one soul this year to Jesus and have the angels, saints, and Jesus rejoice in heaven.

Adoniram Judson like William Carey was able to translate the bible into the languages spoken by the people of Burma. After obtaining a printing press, Adoniram Judson distributed many bibles to thousands of people in Burma in their native language. Today because of Adoniram Judson millions of people in Burma are saved and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. All because of this hero of faith (Adoniram Judson) who for Jesus survived many long days in a prison cell weighted down with heavy chains to complete a successful voyage to win multitudes of Burmese people to Jesus in the deepest of the deeps for God. I pray in Jesus name, that we all can be like Adoniram Judson and launch out into the deep for Jesus and save multitudes of people all over this earth to the Lord Jesus.

Ann Hasseltine Judson's Blessed Quote About Witnessing Jesus Everywhere

A little while, we are in eternity
Before we find ourselves there
Let us do much for Jesus

Our next hero of faith is John Bunyan who preached about Jesus in the 1600s. When John Bunyan was a young man, he was a sinful dissolute (immoral person cursing all the time) tinker ( a handyman that traveled everywhere to make repairs), living in the muddy shallows of an unclean life. Unhappy in his own thoughts, vile and low, John Bunyan came to Jesus and to Jesus yielded his all.

John Bunyan began to preach about our Lord Jesus everywhere he traveled. The government of England told John that he would be placed in jail if he kept talking about Jesus. After John like the apostles kept preaching about Jesus, the English leaders put him in jail. While in jail, John Bunyan would preach Jesus every day to the jailor. When the jailor got saved, the jailor secretly released John Bunyan from prison. But the English leaders found John and placed him into prison again.

While in prison, John Bunyan in the 1600s wrote the book pictured above named Pilgrim's Progress. This book Pilgrim's Progress crawled out from John Bunyan's jail cell, where he remained for 12 years, and this book walked up and down more bypaths and traveled more highways and knocked at more doors and spoke to more people than any other book save the one Book, the Bible, which is beyond all books, as the river is beyond the rill (a tiny stream) in reach.

Demosthenes was the first orator and Shakespeare was the first dramatist who wrote plays. And John Bunyan was blessed to be the first allegorist for our Lord Jesus. An allegory is a story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one. I encourage all my friends to read John Bunyan's gem called the Pilgrim's Progress that is an allegory that reveals the hidden meanings of the bible through stories, poems, and pictures while a man named Pilgrim defeats the devil on his successful journey into the celestial city kingdom of God.

Notice the above check that you receive after salvation with our Lord Jesus from the Bank of Eternal Life. The date you receive it is now if you get saved with Jesus according to 2 Corinthians 6:2: For He (Jesus) saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured (helped) thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

The sum of eternal life is paid to the order of whosoever believeth by Jesus Christ from the Bank of Eternal Life's resources that are unlimited. Jesus promises to pay believing saints eternal life according to John 10:28: Jesus said And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. This check is offered to whosoever believeth according to John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Get saved today and receive this offer of eternal life from our Lord Jesus.

A POEM ABOUT ETERNAL LIFE INSURANCE COVERAGE

I have an insurance policy written in the blood of the Lamb
Sealed by the cross of Jesus, redeemable wherever I am

The company will never go bankrupt; It's bonded by God's promised truth
It will keep every word of its contract; exactly what it says it will do

I don't have to die to collect it; no premiums do I have to pay
All I do is to keep God's promise; And walk in His holy way

No collector will ever come calling; It was paid on Calvary's tree
It insures me for living and dying; and for all eternity

I pray in Jesus name this little bible study blesses multitudes everywhere with great joy, peace, and strength. Comparing The Man Jesus To The God Jesus

COMPARING THE MAN JESUS TO THE GOD JESUS

Jesus is a man, prophet, great teacher, Son of God, and Jesus is God manifest in the flesh. The following scriptures prove that Jesus is God manifest in the flesh. 1 Timothy 3:16 says And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God (Jesus) was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. Romans 14:9 says For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that He might be Lord both of the dead and living. 1 John 5:20 says And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true, and we are in Him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

The Lord Jesus became a man in order to free man from sin at the cross of Calvary and destroy the devil. Hebrews 2:14 says Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He (Jesus) also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil. Hebrews 4:15 says For we have not an high priest (Jesus) which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Now let's compare how Jesus is a man and also is God manifest in the flesh. The man Jesus allowed a ship to carry Him across the sea. The God Jesus walked on the waves of the sea as though they were floors of opal and amethyst and emeralds. John 6:19 says So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.

The man Jesus slept on a pillow in a boat. The God Jesus arose from sleep and calmed the raging storm. Jesus made the raging waves lay down like sleeping dogs at His feet and the winds howling like maniacs to whisper like babes softly in sleep. Mark 4:39 says And He (Jesus) arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And He said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?

The man Jesus pictured above got thirsty on the cross of Calvary. The God Jesus pictured above who is the living water told the Samaritan women at Jacob's well, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink: thou wouldest have asked of Him, and He would have given thee living water (John 4:10).

The man Jesus got tired. The God Jesus said at Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

The man Jesus got hungry. The God Jesus fed thousands with a lad's lunch. The man Jesus wept at Lazarus' grave. The God Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. The man Jesus was despised and rejected of men. The God Jesus is worshipped and adored by innumerable angels in heaven. Revelation 7:11 says And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God. Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

The man Jesus began His ministry in the wilderness hungering when the devil tempted Him saying at Matthew 4:3 If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But He (Jesus) answered, and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. The God Jesus is the Bread of Life for all time and for ever. Jesus said at John 6:41 I am the bread which came down from heaven. The man Jesus ended His ministry thirsty on the cross of Calvary. The God Jesus is the Living Water of Life for all time and for ever. Revelation 7:17 says For the Lamb (Jesus) which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

The man Jesus was often weary. The God Jesus is our rest for ever. The man Jesus tasted death for every man. The God Jesus is our eternal life. The man Jesus paid tribute to Caesar, His only pocketbook was the mouth of a fish. The God Jesus is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. The man Jesus was sold for thirty pieces of silver. The God Jesus redeemed and purchased saved sinners with His own precious blood that He shed at the cross of Calvary. The man Jesus was made sin when He took the guilty culprits place on the cross of Calvary. The God Jesus is separate from sin, holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens (Hebrews 7:26).

The man Jesus hung in darkness on the cross of Calvary during that dread day when midnight took up its reign on noonday's throne. The God Jesus is the Light of the world for ever. Jesus said at John 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. The man Jesus had no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him (Isaiah 53:2). The God Jesus is the chiefest among ten thousand and altogether lovely.

After reading about how Jesus is a man and God, realize that the Lord Jesus did not have to come to the earth and die on a cross. The Lord Jesus could have let all sinners die and go to hell. But Jesus loved lost sinners and was willing to pay his blood (the redemption price) after dying on the cross to save anyone from this troubled world. 1 Peter 1:18 says Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed (bought) with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you. Right now accept Jesus' free gift of salvation. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

Look at the picture above and daily remember Jesus who died for you and rose again. Paul said at 2 Timothy 2:8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel. Don't let the troubles of this world stop you from remembering Jesus. Get up early each day and take time to remember Jesus before a busy day takes up your time going to work, taking care of your family, paying bills, mortgages, and rent. Proverbs 8:17 promises I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

Remember Jesus every day and don't let the cares and troubles of this life stop you from reading the Word of God daily and praising our Lord Jesus. If you have to work a job for most of the day, take time for Jesus early in the morning. Wake up an hour earlier to pray, read your bible, and worship our Lord Jesus. Note the warning stated by Jesus at Luke 21:34 that says And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting (hangover and headache after drinking alcohol), and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Hebrews 2:1 says Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

So what if we have telescopes that view landscapes millions of miles away, when we lose sight of Jesus. Sir Isaac Newton said "I can take my telescope and look millions and millions of miles into space, but I can lay it aside and go into my room, shut the door, get down on my knees in earnest prayer and see more of heaven and get closer to God than I can by all the telescopes and material agencies on earth." So what if we have computers, cellphones, tiktok, and facebook that allow our ears to hear whispers from all corners of this universe, when we have dull and disobedient ears to the voice of Him (Jesus) who will sound forth the trumpet during the rapture saying to His saved sheep Come up hither.

So what if we construct big buildings, when we forget that other foundation can no man lay that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. So what if we have satellites that send computer email writings and cellphone texts around this world, when we are inefficient and blundering in writing the literature of godliness upon the fleshy tables of our human heart by daily memorizing and meditating on the Word of God. 2 Corinthians 3:2 says Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

So what if we listen to grand concerts of our favorite musicians in huge stadiums, when we miss life's central melody (Jesus) and become victims of dawdling ditties (waste time listening to meaningless worldly songs). So what if we create jets, airplanes, spaceships, and rockets that fly swifter and mount higher than eagles, when we are slow in service to God and fail to mount up with wings as eagles.

Remember Jesus is greater than any person or man made invention. Compared to any person on this earth, Jesus shines like the sun among lanterns; Jesus towers like a mountain over many valleys. Solomon was correct when he said at Song of Solomon 5:10 My beloved (Jesus) is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand. Line up ten thousand stars; Jesus is the brightest and the bright and morning star. Line up ten thousand roses; Jesus is the loveliest and the rose of Sharon and the lily of the valleys. Line up ten thousand kings; Jesus is the greatest and the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Pictured above remember the voice of Jesus while you ignore the troubling voices of this fading world. Jesus' voice says to us and the woman who committed adultery, Go and sin no more. Jesus' voice says to women and the daughter of Jairus Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. Jesus' voice says to us and Lazarus Come forth.

Jesus' voice says to us and Nicodemus Ye must be born again. Jesus' voice says to us and the storms around us Peace, be still. Jesus' voice says to us and the dying thief To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. Jesus' voice says to all saints everywhere Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ because I am with you alway, even to the end of the world. Amen.

For our final thought we see that Jesus is with us alway, even unto the end of the world. The peace of Jesus that passeth all understanding is with us alway, even unto the end of the world. Jesus is with us to the very last second of the very last minute of the very last hour of the very last day of all the years. Jesus is with us to the very last meter of the very last inch of the very last yard of the very last mile of life's way.

Jesus is always with us to comfort us forevermore. Psalm 139:7 says Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

RG Lee correctly said If we journey to poles undiscovered, Jesus is with us. If we journey over unchartered oceans, Jesus is with us. If we plod through trackless forests and impenetrable jungles, Jesus is with us. If we trudge across pathless plains and endless snows, Jesus is with us. If years pass by swiftly and beyond recall, Jesus is yet with us. Centuries go by and Jesus remains with us. Psalm 90:4 says For a thousand years in thy sight (Lord Jesus) are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

Be encouraged because the Lord Jesus will change your bleak limitations to immeasurable expanses of peace and comfort. When Jesus is King of this earth for 1000 years, Jesus will transform dry, infertile, flowerless, and treeless deserts into blossoming gardens around streams wherein fragrant flowers and ripened fruits flourish throughout all seasons and in all weathers.

Isaiah 35:1 says The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God. Isaiah 51:3 says For the Lord shall comfort Zion: He will comfort all her waste places; and He will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody. Isaiah 32:15 says Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest. The watermelons, apples, and strawberries will grow so large that they will be like a forest.

With Jesus our inner brooks will expand into flowing rivers that widen into spiritual seas of living water. Jesus promised this at John 4:14 saying But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. Jesus also said at John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

A BLESSED POEM CALLED THE MAKER OF THE UNIVERSE
ABOUT HOW THE GOD JESUS BECAME THE MAN JESUS
AND DIED ON THE CROSS OF CALVARY

The Maker of the universe
As man, for man was made a curse
The claims of law which He had made
Unto the uttermost He paid

His holy fingers formed the bough
where grew the thorns that crowned His brow
The nails that pierced His hands were mined
in secret places He designed

He made the forests from whence there sprung
the tree on which His body hung
He died upon a cross of wood
Yet made the hill on which it stood

The sky which darkened o'er His head
By Him above the earth was spread
The sun which hid from Him its face
By His decree was poised in space

The spear that spilt His precious blood
was created in the fires of God
The grave in which His form was laid
was hewn in rocks His hands had made

The throne on which He now appears
Was His from everlasting years
But a new glory crowns His brow
And every knee to Him shall bow

Jesus keep me near the cross
There a precious fountain
Free to all a healing stream
Flows from Calvary's mountain

In the cross, In the cross
Be my glory ever
Till my ransomed soul shall find
Rest beyond the river

Near the cross, a trembling soul
Love and mercy found me
There the Bright and Morning Star
shed His beams around me

Near the cross, I'll watch and wait
Hoping, trusting ever
Till I reach the golden strand (seashore)
Just beyond the river

Near the cross, O Lamb of God
Bring its scenes before me
Help me walk from day to day
with its shadow o'er me

Revelations About The Blessed Name Of Jesus

Today we will learn why the name of Jesus is better than any other name. The name of Jesus is one of unrivaled excellence and preeminence. No human on earth, no matter how great can equal the height, stature, the power, or the wonder of the name of Jesus Christ. The bible declares that the name of Jesus is the name above every name. Philippians 2:9 says Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him (Jesus), and given Him a name which is above every name. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Ephesians 1:21 describes Jesus who is Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. And hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church. John the Baptist said that the name of Jesus is above every name at John 3:31: He (Jesus) that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: He that cometh from heaven (Jesus) is above all.

Now let's see how the perfect and sinless Lord Jesus is better than many great men of the bible. Jesus was perfect and sinless, while many great men of the bible had flaws. Noah was a preacher of righteousness in the great dark antediluvian days before the flood but Noah got drunk. Abraham was called a friend of God and yet he disappointed God by telling Abimelech that his wife Sarah was his sister. Jacob who dreamed about angels and was strong in his love toward Rachel was crooked like a barrel of fishhooks when he lied to Isaac to receive a blessing from the Lord.

Moses was magnificent and mighty and yet he displeased God by smiting the rock and was denied entrance into the promised land. David was a marvelously versatile man, a military genius, a great poet, and a great musician, but he staked his crown for a woman Bathsheba's embrace and committed murder against her husband Uriah the Hittite to cover up his sin of adultery. Samson was a judge in Israel for twenty years, but Samson was snared and sheared by a beautiful wicked woman named Delilah. Many men like Samson today are snared and sheared of spiritual power by wicked beautiful women like Delilah. Proverbs 31:30 says Favour is deceitful, and beauty is in vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

Elijah blessed God on Mount Carmel and called down fire from heaven and had a great victory over 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of the groves, but under the juniper tree he had despondent cowardice and wanted to die, hidden away from the witch Jezebel. John the Baptist who said Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world and buried Jesus in beautiful baptism in the rolling tides of the Jordan river displayed despondent questionings about the Lord Jesus after King Herod placed him in a prison cell for preaching about Herod's sin of marrying his brother Philip's wife.

Many great men of the bible had flaws, but the bible proclaims that Jesus is perfect, sinless, and has no faults. Truly Jesus is the name above all names. Note the following bible scriptures proclaiming that only Jesus is perfect and has no sin. Pictured above Hebrews 4:15 says For we have not an high priest (Jesus) which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 1 John 3:5 says And ye know that He (Jesus) was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin. 1 Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were you called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth. Humanity has never reversed the verdict that Governor Pilate gave when he washed his hands and said I find no fault in Him (Jesus).

We learn from this bible study that the only good thing in us is Jesus. People might have flaws but Jesus chooses to work through imperfect sinners like you and me. The reason God works through flawed sinners is so only Jesus gets the glory. 2 Corinthians 4:7 says But we have this treasure (Jesus) in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. When you read the list below of the many people in the bible who had faults that God used, remember the blood of Jesus removes your sins. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

A LIST OF GREAT PEOPLE IN THE BIBLE WHO HAD FLAWS
THAT GOD USED TO BLESS PEOPLE
SO ONLY THE LORD JESUS COULD GET THE GLORY

Noah got drunk
Moses stuttered and had a short fuse
Miriam was a gossip
Jonah ran from God
Jacob was a liar
Jeremiah was a bullfrog (just kidding)
Jeremiah was depressed and suicidal
Gideon and Thomas both doubted
Solomon was too rich
Abraham was too old
David was too young
Paul who along with Moses was a murderer
Martha worried too much about household chores
Peter was afraid of death and denied Jesus three times
John Mark was rejected by Paul

Notice pictured above the many names for God in the bible that represent the blessed name of Jesus. Jehovah Nissi (Jesus our banner and standard for victory over the devil who makes the devil disappear and flee quickly), Jehovah Raah (Jesus our shepherd that watches over the saints who are His sheep), Jehovah Rapha (Jesus our healer who with His stripes we are healed), Jehovah Shammah (Jesus is there and will never leave thee, nor forsake thee), and Jehovah Hoseenu (Jesus the Lord our Maker because Colossians 1:16 says For by Him (Jesus) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him (Jesus), and for Him: And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist). Psalm 95:6 says O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

Jehovah Tsidkenu and Jehovah Mekoddishkem (Jesus our righteousness and sanctification proclaimed at 1 Corinthians 1:30 that says But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption), Jehovah Jireh (Jesus our provider who supplies all our needs), Jehovah Sabaoth (Jesus our Lord of hosts who is the captain general of the hosts of soldier angels in the army of God), Jehovah Shalom (Jesus our Prince of Peace that blesses us with the peace of God, which passeth all understanding) and Jehovah Elyon (Jesus who is the Lord Most High and name above every name).

THE HARDEST WORD FOR PEOPLE TO PRONOUNCE
TO RECEIVE A BLESSING IS NOT
CONSTANTINOPLE, MESOPOTAMIA, OR SHIBBOLETH
IT'S
NO

For my final thought we learn that pictured above we have to just say no to get blessed. The word no is the hardest word for people to pronounce instead of Constantinople, Mesopotamia, or Shibboleth. According to Judges 12:6 Jephthah and the Gileadites defeated the Ephramites who could not say Shibboleth but instead said Sibboleth to describe an ear of grain. But if we would just say no to the sins of this world, Jesus would greatly bless us.

Read below about some great men of the bible that got blessed by just saying no. Joseph in Egypt said no to the proposals of Potipher's wife and avoided the sin of adultery. Therefore God blessed Joseph to be released from prison to be a great leader in Egypt with great power. Daniel in Babylon said no to eating the king's meat and drinking the king's wine and was blessed with better health than the Babylonians.

Moses said no to Pharoah's daughter when he came of age and went out and chose rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. By faith He forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing Him who is invisible. Therefore Moses and the children of Israel were blessed to be delivered from the bondage of Pharoah and Egypt. Jesus said no to all of the temptations of the devil in the wilderness. Therefore Jesus was blessed to be King of kings and Lord of lords having the name above all names.

The bible records that Saul sought to kill David by throwing spears at him while he chased him like a hound would hunt for a rabbit. One night David and Abishai found Saul asleep with his spear stuck in the ground. And Abishai told David at 1 Samuel 26:8 God hath delivered thine enemy into thine hand this day: now therefore let me smite him, I pray thee, with the spear even to the earth at once, and I will not smite him the second time. David said no; David spared Saul when he could have speared Saul. David said no to spearing and yes to sparing. Therefore because of David's kindness to Saul, David was blessed to replace Saul and become the king of Israel.

Like Joseph, Daniel, Moses, Jesus, and David, say no to the sins of this world and yes to serving our Lord Jesus. Say no daily to the sinful desires of your flesh and remember that Jesus said at Luke 9:23 If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. Say no to the sins of this world and remember 1 John 2:15 that says Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. Say no to the devil and remember Ephesians 4:27 Neither give place to the devil. Remember Jesus said at Luke 9:62 No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Uplifting Stories And Messages

FORGIVE LIKE LOUIS XII AND BE BLESSED
READ HIS STORY OF MERCY BELOW

Pictured above we see Louis XII who became king of France after he suffered great indignities at the hand of his cousin Charles VIII. He was slandered, thrown into prison, kept in chains, and in constant fear of death. When he succeeded Charles to the throne, however, his close friends and advisors urged him to seek revenge for all these shameful atrocities. But Louis would not hear to any of the suggestions of these whisperers in his court.

Instead they were amazed to see him preparing a list of all the names of men who had harmed him before he became king. Behind each name Louis XII placed a red cross. His enemies, hearing of this were filled with dread alarm. These enemies thought that the sign of a cross meant a sentence to death on the gallows. One after the other, they fled the court and their beloved country.

But King Louis XII learning of their flight called for a special session of the court to explain his list of names and the little red crosses. Be content and do not fear, he said in a most cordial tone. The cross which I drew by your names is not a sign of punishment, but a pledge of forgiveness and a seal for the sake of the crucified Saviour Jesus who upon His cross forgave all His enemies, prayed for them, and blotted out the handwriting of ordinances that was against them.

Like Louis XII, see a red cross of the blood of Jesus by faith by your enemies and forgive them. If Louis XII can forgive his enemies after he was slandered, thrown in prison, and kept in chains, we need to forgive our enemies. If Jesus forgave all his enemies by saying on the cross Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do, we need to forgive our enemies. Colossians 3:13 tells us Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

Learn a lesson from Louis XII and overcome depression by forgiving and forgetting any insults, slanders, or lies spoken against you by any enemy. Thinking about past lies and insults spoken against us by any enemy takes away our strength. A single evil resentment weighs more than a ton of lead. Proverbs 27:3 says A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's wrath is heavier than them both. Ecclesiastes 7:9 says Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

Hate is the heaviest thing in God's universe because it is most unlike the disposition of God. Like Louis XII, don't carry even a little resentment toward anyone from year to year. Throw it away and wash the slate clean and begin all over again. Right now become free of your grudges and receive peace by saying There is not a soul on earth against whom I could lift my finger with a desire to hurt them. There is not a single human being who I have either the time or disposition to hate.

1 Peter 4:8 says And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves:
for charity (love) shall cover the multitude of sins.
Keep loving people over and over again and you will be healed
Love the hell out of people

Friends you can forgive your enemies by remembering that Jesus forgave you. Ephesians 4:31 tells us how to forgive by saying Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Remember to be exceedingly glad and leap for joy when you are insulted and slandered because of your faith in the Lord Jesus. Luke 6:22 says Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets. Think about how the apostles after they were beaten and told they could not speak the name of Jesus rejoiced that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for the name of Jesus. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

REMEMBER THE WORDS OF ABRAHAM LINCOLN
My kind heart is as big as this universe
but in it I have no memory of a wrong.

READ A STORY ABOUT HOW A GOVERNOR VISITED
A PRISONER IN THE JAIL CELL PICTURED ABOVE

Billy Sunday once told a story about a governor who went into a penitentiary to see a certain inmate. The governor saw that prisoner and sat in his jail cell. When the governor talked with the prisoner, he concealed his identity until the interview had ended and he was gone.

Then one of the guards told the prisoner, Did you know that the governor of the State was just talking to you? Oh my God, said the prisoner. Had I known that, how on bended knee, I would have pleaded with him for a pardon. I would not have let him go until he had pardoned me.

Friend reading this anywhere, the Saviour, our Lord Jesus like this governor is coming to you this very hour. And Jesus is not concealing his identity because He has scars in His palms, and His brow bears the trace of thorns. Jesus offers you a pardon written in His own blood saying Take it from me; Accept it by faith. Be more than pardoned; more than forgiven; Be saved and justified now forevermore.

Right now friend anywhere get saved and receive a pardon from our Lord Jesus for all your sins. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. Every day say I am crucified with Jesus Christ and covered by the blood of Jesus. Tell the devil that the blood of Jesus has overcome the devil, evil must pass over me, and the blood of Jesus has cleansed me of all my sins.

MAKE YOUR CHOICE
JESUS OR CONDEMNATION

Take time to read the two scriptures pictured above that speak about a choice between Jesus' peace or the devil's condemnation. First John 3:18 says He that believeth on Him (Jesus) is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Then John 3:36 says He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

To anyone reading this, it's time for you to make a choice: What's your choice. Either the peace of Jesus or the devil's condemnation. It's either the friendship of heaven or the hostilities of hell. It's either the splendors of a glorified noonday or the terrors of a black midnight. It's either the beautiful fragrance of flower gardens displaying the love of Jesus or the sulpher fumes of the pits of perdition.

It's either a summer's cooling breeze or a thunder cloud's wrath. It's either clouds that drench drouth plagued fields with refreshing rains or clouds that bruise and blast with heavy hailstones.  It's either a sweet mother's lullaby to a fretful child or a solemn jury rendering a guilty verdict without recommendation for mercy. It's either the love of a maiden whispering her vows of fidelity or the voice of an anguished woman in travail. It's either joybells or deathbells.

MAKE YOUR CHOICE
JESUS OR CONDEMNATION

Choose Jesus' fragrant flower garden pictured above that is a delight to the eyes and nostrils instead of the devil's dungeon pictured above that is dark in the foulsome depths. Choose Jesus' crown of wisdom instead of this world's dunce cap from the devil. Choose Jesus with everlasting life and glories beyond words to portray instead of the devil's wrath and eternal torment. Choose Jesus' offer of coronation and enthronement instead of the devil's coffin and entombment.

A POEM TITLED I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY

I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard
I felt the answer in my heart
Although He spoke not a word

I didn't ask for wealth or fame
I knew you wouldn't mind
I asked for priceless treasure rare
Of a more long lasting kind

I prayed that He'd be near to you
At the start of each new day
To grant you health and blessing fair
And friends to bless your way

I asked for happiness for you in all things
great and small
But that you'd know His loving care
I prayed for most of all
