     The Day of Christ is not the Day Of The Lord. 2 Thessalonians 2:1 tells us what will happen on the Day of Christ. This scripture says Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto Him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the Day Of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.

     Note that the RSV (Revised Standard Version) and NIV (New International Version) translations of the bible substitute the Day of the Lord for the Day of Christ in 2 Thessalonians 2:2. Only the KJV King James bible correctly lists the Day Of Christ at 2 Thessalonians 2:2. This is a big deal. If this scripture said the Day of the Lord, christians would have to go through the tribulation. And all the christians will not be here for one second of the great tribulation. 2 Thessalonians 2:7 says For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth (restrains) will let (means the Holy Ghost in christians holds back and restrains the appearance of the beast antichrist), until he be taken out of the way (christians getting caught up to be with Jesus in the air). And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming. (The beast antichrist can not be revealed to start the tribulation until the christians are caught up to be with Jesus and leave this earth). Therefore only read the KJV bible that is the most accurate translation of the Word of God in English. 

     Let's see what happens on the Day of Christ (not the Day of the Lord) by studying 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3. This scripture tells us that three things will happen on the Day of Christ. First there will be a falling away. Second all the christians will be caught up and gathered together unto Jesus in the air to be judged at the Bema Seat Judgment (that is not the great white throne judgment). Third the very second the christians are caught up to Jesus in the air and leave this earth, the beast antichrist, the son of perdition, who is the man of sin will be revealed on this earth and start the 7 year tribulation when he confirms a peace treaty with Israel.  

     Next let's see why the Day of the Lord is not the Day of Christ. 2 Peter 3:10 tells us what will happen on the Day of the Lord. This scripture says But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Also note that 2 Peter 3:8 says But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

     According to 2 Peter 3:8-10 the Day of the Lord spans a period of around a thousand years or more. The Day of the Lord will begin when Jesus comes as a thief in the night when the christians are caught up to be with Jesus in the air during the rapture. But notice also that the Day of the Lord also includes the 7 year tribulation, 1000 year millennial reign of Jesus on this earth, the great white throne judgment, and ends when the heavens pass away where the earth is burned up before Jesus creates new heavens and a new earth for the eternal kingdom of God.

     You see what an error it is to substitute the Day of the Lord for the Day of Christ at 2 Thessalonians 2:2. If this was so, christians would have to live through the tribulation included in the Day of the Lord. And many bible verses say that christians will not have to live through any second of the tribulation wrath of God. 1 Thessalonians 1:10 says And to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. Romans 5:9 says Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 1 Thessalonians 5:9 says For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ. Revelation 3:10 says Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. 

     And finally Luke 21:36 says Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass (the 7 year tribulation), and to stand before the Son of man (at the bema seat judgment seat that occurs immediately after the christians are caught up to Jesus who appears in the air). 2 Timothy 4:1 says I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom (this speaks about the dead in Christ and those that are alive and remain (the quick) who are caught up to be judged at the bema seat judgment and given rewards when Jesus appears in the air). Jesus said at Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me (Jesus will give christians rewards when he first appears to them at the bema judgment seat), to give every man according as his work shall be.

     Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. If you get saved, you will not be on this earth for one second of the tribulation (all the christians will be on a honeymoon with the Lord Jesus in heaven and will return with Jesus on white horses at the end of the 7 year tribulation to watch Jesus cast the beast antichrist and the false prophet alive into the lake of fire). After this the christians will rule and reign with King Jesus in Jerusalem, Israel for 1000 years on this earth during the millennium in blessed peace because the devil will be sealed up with a great chain in the bottomless pit for 1000 years. The devil will be on the chain gang for 1000 years going crazy while he falls in a bottomless pit with no bottom. After the devil comes out of the bottomless pit, Jesus will cast the devil into the lake of fire and burn up this earth. Finally Jesus will create new heavens and a new earth for the kingdom of God where all the christians will live forevermore in peace.

     Next let me explain how the bema seat judgment differs from the great white throne judgment. The first picture above speaks about the bema seat judgment for all christians who got saved where rewards are given to christians for all their good deeds. 2 Corinthians 5:10 says For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

     1 Corinthians 3:13 describes what will happen to christians at the bema seat judgment that all christians must appear at immediately after the catching up to Jesus in the air. The scripture says Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day (the Day of Christ) shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. 

     Christians will be rewarded for their good works at the bema seat judgment. But remember your good works don't save you. Ephesians 2:8 says For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Daniel 12:3 says Jesus will reward christians with stars in their crowns for winning souls to the Lord Jesus. Daniel 12:3 says And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

     But also note that at the bema judgment seat some christians will suffer loss and lose rewards for failing to minister to lost souls. Take heed to the warning at 2 John 8 that says Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. I believe christians will cry when they see souls that they failed to minister to cast into the lake of fire at the great white throne judgment. This is stated at Isaiah 66:24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

     These christians will cry and remember that they failed to tell these lost souls about Jesus. A christian that fails to win souls will suffer loss at the bema seat judgment and see lost souls at the great white throne judgment cast into the lake of fire. These christians' tears will not be wiped away from their eyes until after the 1000 year millennium and the great white throne judgment when Jesus sets up the kingdom of God. Revelation 21:4 speaks about the kingdom of God saying And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

     Isaiah 65:17 also says that in the kingdom of God all bad memories of lost souls and any bad thoughts will be removed. For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. Remember to give your life purpose win souls to the Lord Jesus. Witness Jesus everywhere so you don't weep for lost sinners cast into the lake of fire at the great white throne judgment. 

     Note that the second picture above of the great white throne judgment is not for christians but for dead unbelievers who rejected the Lord Jesus. These unbelievers die twice. First they die and go to hell and finally they die the second death at the great white throne judgment when they are cast into the lake of fire forevermore. Christians that get saved with the Lord Jesus never die and receive eternal life in heaven. But unbelievers who reject the Lord Jesus die twice in hell and the lake of fire.

     The great white throne judgment is described at Revelation 20:12 and says And I saw the dead (note this is for dead unbelievers in the Lord Jesus and not for the saved christians), small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it ; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
