The Seven Feasts Of The Lord Speak About Jesus

The Seven Feasts Of The Lord Speak About Jesus

The seven feasts of the Lord speak about the Lord Jesus. The first four feasts called the spring feasts (Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, and Pentecost) were fulfilled at Jesus' first coming. The second three feasts (Trumpets, Atonement, and Tabernacles) will be fulfilled at Jesus' second coming. Passover represents the death of the Lord Jesus on the cross of Calvary. Unleavened Bread represents the burial of the Lord Jesus Christ. Firstfruits represents the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Pentecost represents the Holy Spirit that comforts christians until Jesus returns. Trumpets represents the rapture of the christians at the last trump of God. Atonement represents the Jews' repentance and salvation at the end of the great tribulation when they believe that the Lord Jesus is the Messiah. Tabernacles represents the millennium where the Jews will dwell safely on earth with the christians for 1000 years.

1) The Feast Of Passover

The first feast of the Lord is called Passover that represents the death of the Lord Jesus on the cross of Calvary. 1 Corinthians 5:7 tells us that the Lord Jesus Christ is our Passover Lamb that was sacrificed for us on the cross of Calvary. The blood of the innocent, perfect Lamb of God who is the Lord Jesus was placed on the doors of the Jews in Egypt. When the angel of death saw the blood of the Lamb Jesus, the angel of death passed over the Jews' homes. The Jews survived but the Egyptian firstborn were killed because the blood of the Lamb Jesus was not on the Egyptian's doors.

The first feast of Passover is mentioned at Leviticus 23:4. These are the feasts of the Lord, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord's passover.  Passover occurs every year during the Jews' first month that is April on the fourteenth day.

The Book Of Exodus Speaks About The Passover Lamb Jesus
The Lord Jesus Is Called A Lamb, The Lamb, Your Lamb

A Lamb-Sacrifice
The Lamb-Saviour
Your Lamb-Salvation

Notice that Exodus 12:3-5 speaks about a lamb, the lamb, and finally your lamb. First Exodus 12:3 talks about a lamb saying Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house. Then Exodus 12:4 talks about the lamb saying And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb. Finally Exodus 12:5 talks about your lamb saying Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or the goats.

Notice the progression from A Lamb to The Lamb To Your Lamb

First we learn that a lamb had to be sacrificed for our sins because according to Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood there is no remission (release from the bondage and imprisonment of sin). The sacrifice had to be a lamb that was innocent and perfect to remove our sins. The blood of an innocent lamb was placed on the door of a child of God in Egypt for protection from the death angel. The Lord Jesus said at Exodus 12:13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where you are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

Next we identify The Lamb that was sacrificed to cleanse us from all our sins. John the Baptist told us that Jesus is the Lamb of God that was sacrificed for our sins at John 1:29 that says The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. Jesus is the innocent perfect Lamb without sin according to 1 John 3:5 And ye know that He was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin. Hebrews 4:15 says The Lamb Jesus was without sin. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Finally Jesus must become your lamb to be saved and cleansed from all your sins. Everyone must work out their own salvation with fear and trembling where Jesus is your Lamb that cleanses you from all sin. God has provided The Lamb Jesus for your salvation. Right now make Jesus your Lamb and get saved. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. Tell the devil daily by faith I am crucified with Jesus Christ and my sins are removed because the blood of Jesus gives me total victory over the devil. Revelation 12:11 says And they overcame him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb (Jesus), and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

The Blood Of The Passover Lamb Jesus
Is A Fence Of Protection From The Devil

The blood of the Passover Lamb Jesus is a fence of protection from the devil. The devil can not get through the blood of Jesus. Every day by faith say in Jesus name Lord have your angels send the blood of the Lamb Jesus over my home, car, myself, and everywhere I travel. The blood of Jesus will cause the devil to pass over you and keep you safe and allow you to survive and overcome this troubled world. Remember to daily thank Jesus for shedding his precious blood at the cross of Calvary for you that is the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

The angel of death was not looking for good or bad people, rich or poor people, big or little people, fat or skinny people, young or old people, black, white, or yellow people. The angel of death was looking for the blood of the Passover Lamb Jesus. The angel of death said When I see the blood of the Passover Lamb Jesus, I will pass over you. Tell the devil daily you can't steal, kill, or destroy anything in my life because by faith I am covered and everything I own is covered by the blood of Jesus. Devil you must pass over me and flee from me.

And Sing The Words Below For When I See The Blood I Will Pass Over You
Written By John G. Foote In 1892
Revised By Elisha A. Hoffman In 1909

Christ our Redeemer, died on the cross
Died for the sinner, paid all his due
Sprinkle your soul with the blood of the Lamb
And I will pass, will pass over you

When I see the blood
When I see the blood
When I see the blood
I will pass, I will pass over you

Chiefest of sinners, Jesus will save
As He has promised, that He will do
Wash in the fountain opened for sin
And I will pass, will pass over you

Judgment is coming, all will be there
Each one receiving, justly his due
Hide in the saving sin cleansing blood
And I will pass, will pass over you

O great compassion, O boundless love
O lovingkindness, faithful and true
Find peace and shelter under the blood
And I will pass, will pass over you

2) The Feast Of Unleavened Bread

The second feast of the Lord is called the feast of unleavened bread that represents the burial of the Lord Jesus Christ. Leaven or yeast makes bread rise. The bible says that leaven represents a proud Pharisee that rises up with lies, false doctrine, malice, and wickedness. Jesus said at Matthew 16:6 Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. 1 Corinthians 5:7 says Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Unlike the proud leavened Pharisees and Sadducees, the Lord Jesus is humble and unleavened. The Lord Jesus is the true, humble, unleavened bread of life that died for sinners on the cross of Calvary. Jesus said at John 6:35 I am the bread of life; he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. Jesus said at John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Jesus was willing to become the true bread of life and stayed down flat like unleavened bread after burial for three days before His resurrection. Unlike the proud leavened Pharisees and Sadducees who lied with false doctrine, the humble unleavened Jesus is sincere and speaks the truth. Therefore the feast of unleavened bread represents the burial of the Lord Jesus who stayed down flat in burial for three days before His resurrection.

The second feast of unleavened bread is mentioned at Leviticus 23:6. And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. Unleavened bread is called matzah that is a thin, crisp, unleavened flatbread that you can buy in any grocery store.

Mary Magdalene's Precious Spikenard
Preserved Jesus' Unleavened Body For Burial
The Spikenard Was A Witness That Jesus' Unleavened Body Would Not Decay
But Would Rise From The Grave Preserved Forever With Eternal Life

Mark 14:3 speaks about Mary Magdalene anointing Jesus with spikenard at Simon's house and says And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as He sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on His head. Jesus said at Mark 14:8 She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying. Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she has done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.

Jesus also said at Matthew 26:12 For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial. At the cross of Calvary, the sweet smelling spikenard's odour remained and was greater than the foul odour of vinegar mingled with the poisonous gall (hemlock plant) drink that Jesus tasted but did not drink, preserving Jesus' body from decay for burial and is a witness about Jesus' resurrection from the dead with eternal life.

Spikenard was used to anoint the body of the deceased to delay decomposition and mask the odour of decay during the period between death and burial. The spikenard was a witness that Jesus' body would not decay. Instead Jesus' body would become glorified, resurrected, and be preserved forever with eternal life. Like Jesus, saved saints bodies won't ever decay, will become glorified, and will be preserved with eternal life. Romans 8:11 says But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you. 2 Corinthians 4:14 says Knowing that He which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. Jesus said at John 6:40 And this is the will of Him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

As a side note, it's remarkable that Jesus fulfilled the prophecy of Psalm 69:21 that says They gave me also gall (a poisonous hemlock plant) for my meat; and in my thirst they gave vinegar to drink. Matthew 27:34 says They gave Him (Jesus) vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, He would not drink. In other words no man could kill Jesus. Jesus said at John 10:17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
