Two Steps That Must Be Taken For Victorious Faith
1) Instead of a huge increased faith in a little God
Have just a tiny small mustard seed faith in a huge God
2) Make your faith happen with works
Today, let's see how to have victorious faith. First to be blessed say Lord Jesus thank you that all I need is little mustard seed of faith in a large awesome God for my prayers to be answered. Luke 17:5 tells us And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. And the Lord (Jesus) said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
Notice that the apostles thought that they had to increase their faith to get their prayers answered. Like the apostles, the devil lies to everyone and says you need to increase your faith (you don't have enough faith) before you can get blessed. But Jesus says just the opposite: Saints all you need when you pray is just a tiny mustard seed of faith for any prayer request and our large awesome God named Jesus will grant your requests and honor your mustard seed faith. I encourage all my friends everywhere to try praying with just a tiny mustard seed of faith and watch Jesus start answering all your godly prayer requests. Matthew 17:20 promises If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
When you pray believing that just a mustard seed of faith will get your prayers answered, you will receive confidence and move away any mountain that is blocking your blessings. Jesus said at Mark 11:22 have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever will say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Mustard Seed Faith In Our Lord Jesus Is Required To Be Blessed
Mustard seed faith with our hearts in the Lord Jesus to grant any prayer request is required to be blessed. Hebrews 11:6 says But without faith it is impossible to please Him (Jesus); for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. And when several blind men asked Jesus for a healing, Matthew 9:29 says Then touched He their eyes, saying According to your faith be it unto you.
You see unbelief (no faith) blocks blessings. We must believe our prayer requests to Jesus by faith before they are granted. Matthew 13:58 tells us that even the Lord Jesus did not many works there because of their unbelief. Jesus will not honor unbelief. Jesus won't even save anyone unless they believe that Jesus is God. Right now get saved, stop sinning, repent, confess Jesus to be your God, believing that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again.
Activate Your Faith By Works To Get Your Prayers Granted
There is no such thing as dormant inactive faith. Faith always takes on action and direction. Faith always attempts something to lift up and praise our Lord Jesus. James 2:17-18 tells us Even so faith, if it hath not works is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say Thou hast faith, and I have works; shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
Now notice that faith alone without works saves someone. Ephesians 2:8 says For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. But, after anyone is saved, they will have good works to activate their faith and let Jesus shine to lost sinners. Notice the next verse at Ephesians 2:10 that says For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Notice how Jonathan and his armourbearer (just 2 men with only one spear) pictured above activated their faith with works by climbing a steep cliff to defeat thousands of Philistine enemies. 1 Samuel 14:6 tells us And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, come and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that the Lord will work for us; for there is no restraint to the Lord to save by many or by few.
Jonathan said to his armourbearer we will show ourselves to the enemy Philistines at the bottom of the cliff, and if the Philistines say Come up unto us, we will go up the cliff, for the Lord hath delivered them into our hand. Wow, Jonathan and his armourbearer (only two little men with one sword) activated their faith with works by climbing a steep cliff to fight thousands of Philistines when the Philistines told them Come up to us and we will shew you a thing. It looked impossible for Jonathan and his armourbearer to defeat the Philistines after climbing a steep cliff. But, all things are possible with God to them that believe.
I can see Jonathan telling his armourbearer while climbing the steep cliff, Yep, we're outnumbered, but God is with us. For there is no restraint to the Lord to save by many or by few. And when Jonathan and his armourbearer just killed only 20 Philistines, God honored their faith activated by works, and God sent an earthquake that destroyed the Philistines and gave Jonathan and his armourbearer the victory with King Saul. And notice that God didn't send the earthquake until the two daring men (Jonathan and his armourbearer) said let's just try to defeat the Philistines by faith.
Another bible story at Mark 2 illustrates how four men activated their faith by works by busting an opening through a roof to lower their lame friend down to the Lord Jesus in a crowded house. These four men heard that the Lord Jesus was in Capernaum. The four men believed that they could get their lame friend on a stretcher to Jesus to be healed. When they got to the house where Jesus was preaching, the house was packed with people and there was no way to get in.
But, these four men were determined to get their lame friend healed by Jesus. These four daring men of faith somehow got their lame friend up to the roof of the house and started to bust up the roof by faith. After they lowered the lame man on his bed through the roof, Jesus healed the lame man because he saw the four men's faith activated by works (not the lame man's faith). This proves that the prayers of saints can heal anyone (even when the sick person can't pray for themself). Jesus told the lame man, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee; take up your bed and walk.
Nehemiah activated his faith by works and rebuilt the walls in Jerusalem
Finally, we see Nehemiah who activated his faith by works and rebuilt the walls in Jerusalem. Nehemiah had a comfortable job in a palace as the king's cupbearer. Then after Nehemiah saw that the walls in Jerusalem were broken down by the Babylonians, he left his comfort zone to start rebuilding by faith the walls of Jerusalem. Are you willing to be like Nehemiah and leave your comfort zone to bless the poor orphans and widows around you with food and rent money?
While Nehemiah was rebuilding the walls, he was persecuted and opposed by Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem. But, God honored Nehemiah's faith and allowed the walls of Jerusalem to be completed. In other words, keep working for Jesus and God will make your persecutors disappear, while you get the work done for our Lord Jesus. Remember, rejoice through persecutions; keep working for Jesus like Nehemiah, and the work for Jesus will be completed.
1 Thessalonians 1:3 says Remembering without ceasing your work of faith and labour of love and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father. You see faith involves a labour (work) of love. You can't just pray and do nothing. We must activate our faith with good works to be blessed like Nehemiah.
Romans 12:11 says Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. Proverbs 23:21 warns us For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty, and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags. Finally, Proverbs 20:13 warns us Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes and thou shalt be satisfied with bread. Don't be like water that sits still and becomes filthy and useless; Keep moving with good works to activate your faith like a mighty waterfall to be a refreshing blessing wherever you travel.
