Notice the picture above of a compass with only three directions east, west, and south. Psalm 75:6 says For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another. Notice that Psalm 75:6 only mentions three directions east, west, and south but does not mention north. Promotion with the Lord Jesus comes from the north.
Let's learn why promotion does not come from the east, west, or south. If you look east or west on this earth to man there is no promotion. Of course if you look south to the devil there definitely is no promotion. The outlooks bad and the downlooks worse, but the uplook is looking pretty good. And if you have the right uplook, you'll have the right outlook and win lost souls to our Lord Jesus. Therefore Brother Bob says look up north to the Lord Jesus and you will definitely be promoted. If we all trust in Jesus daily, Ephesians 3:20 says Now unto Him (Jesus) that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Philippians 4:13 says I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Throughout history northern countries have always won battles in war. Promotion and victory always comes from the north. Babylon north of Egypt conquered Egypt. Assyria north of Babylon conquered Babylon. Greece and Alexander the Great north of Assyria conquered Assyria. Rome north of Greece conquered Greece. The Vandals, Goths, Visigoths, and Huns located in Germany north of Rome conquered Rome. After World War II, England and Russia allies with America north of Germany and Japan conquered Germany and Japan. The north beat the south in the American Civil War. North Vietnam won the war against South Vietnam. North Korea did not lose the war against South Korea. But rejoice because the Lord Jesus who is north of every nation and people will conquer everything, win the final battle, and be King of this earth for 1000 glorious years during the millennium.
Here's some scriptures about looking north to Jesus for blessings. Psalm 24:7 says Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah. Luke 21:28 says And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption drawth nigh.
Psalm 121:1 says I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. Psalm 48:1 says Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of His holiness. Beautiful for situation, (to the heights), the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides (to the coasts) of the north, the city of the great King.
What is the meaning of the Hebrew and Greek letters pictured above? The old testament is written in Hebrew and the new testament is written in Greek. The first letter of the Hebrew alphabet is Aleph and the last letter of the Hebrew alphabet is Tav. The first letter of the Greek alphabet is Alpha and the last letter of the Greek alphabet is Omega. Jesus said at Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty (the Greek definition for Almighty is God). Tell Muslims everywhere that at Revelation 1:8 the Lord Jesus Himself proclaimed that He is Almighty God.
Revelation 1:8 tells us that the Lord Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, the Aleph and Tav, and the A to Z. Jesus is everything you need. Jesus is the answer to everything. Zechariah in the old testament referred to the Lord Jesus as Aleph Tav. If you look at the two Hebrew letters following the word me at Zechariah 12:10 you will learn that the Lord Jesus is called the Aleph Tav or the Alpha and Omega.

Zechariah in the old testament referred to the Lord Jesus as Aleph Tav. If you look at the two Hebrew letters following the word me at Zechariah 12:10 you will learn that the Lord Jesus is called the Aleph Tav or the Alpha and Omega.
Zechariah 12:10 says And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me (immediately following the word me in the Hebrew text are two additional letters: Aleph and Tav) whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourneth for his only Son, and shall be in bitterness for Him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
In standard Hebrew grammar, Aleph Tav, is an untranslated direct object marker that points to the specific person or thing being acted upon (the Lord Jesus whom they have pierced). Despite its grammatical role, many interpret the specific placement of Aleph Tav in Zechariah 12:10 as a divine signature or a prophetic mark affirming the diety of the Lord Jesus. In Zechariah 12:10, the Hebrew phrase Aleph Tav appears immediately before the word "whom they have pierced." The Aleph Tav (first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet) refers to the Lord Jesus who is also called the Alpha and Omega (first and last letters of the Greek alphabet). Jesus said at Revelation 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Because the Aleph Tav in Zechariah 12:10 sits between "me" (referring to God the Father speaking) and "whom they have pierced" it is often viewed as a fingerprint identifying the speaker who is God to be the Lord Jesus who was pierced on the cross of Calvary. Zechariah 12:10 speaks about Abraham's prophecy at Genesis 22:8 that says And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb (the Lord Jesus who is God) for a burnt offering (Jesus is God, the Aleph Tav, Alpha and Omega, pierced on the cross of Calvary to redeem mankind from sin): so they went both of them together.
In biblical Hebrew, the Aleph Tav is primarily a grammatical marker used exactly 10,937 times throughout the old testament to denote the direct object of a verb. Because it functions as a pointer rather than a word with its own definition, it is typically untranslated in KJV English bibles. The 10,937 Aleph Tavs (Alpha Omegas) in the KJV bible are codes that represent the Lord Jesus' divine signature hidden in the text. Pictured above the ancient Paleo-Hebrew form of the letter Tav was written as a cross or X, which some interpret as a prophetic foreshadowing of the cross of Calvary.
The prophet Amos also had a revelation about the Lord Jesus in the old testament at Amos 8:9. When the Lord Jesus died on the cross of Calvary, there was darkness over the land from the sixth to the ninth hour. In Hebrew time the first hour started at 6AM. So this meant that when Jesus died on the cross of Calvary, there was darkness on a clear day from 12 noon to 3PM. Amos 8:9 says And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day. Amos prophesied and predicted the exact time of darkness from 12 noon to 3PM when Jesus was crucified on the cross of Calvary. The midday darkness during Jesus' crucifixion was a supernatural fulfillment of Amos' words.
The following verse at Amos 8:10 mentions mourning of an only son. This speaks about the grief surrounding the death of the Lord Jesus, the only begotten Son of God after the cross of Calvary mentioned earlier at Amos 8:9. Amos 8:10 says And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.
Extra biblical historians such as Phlegon of Tralles and Thallus reportedly noted an extraordinary darkness around AD 33 that some ancient christians claimed was the very event that Amos predicted about the cross of Calvary. Phlegon recorded a significant event during the 202nd Oympiad that corresponds to the year 33 AD. An Olympiad is a unit of time consisting of four years, reckoned from one celebration of the ancient Olympic games to the next.
Phlegon said "In the fourth year of the 202nd Olympiad, an eclipse of the sun happened, greater and more excellent than any that had happened before it; at the sixth hour, day turned into night, so that the stars were seen in the sky; and an earthquake in Bithynia (modern day Turkey) toppled many buildings of the city of Nicaea." Phlegon described the extraordinary darkness as greater than any before, suggesting that it was not a typical solar eclipse. Solar eclipses only last a few minutes. The darkness lasted three hours when Jesus died on the cross of Calvary.
While Phlegon describes the earthquake's impact in Bithynia (hundreds of miles from Jerusalem), theologians suggest it was part of a universal or widespread seismic event that occurred at the moment of Jesus' death on the cross of Calvary. 2012 sediment studies of the Dead Sea found physical evidence of a significant earthquake in the region between 26 and 36 AD.
Matthew 27:45 says Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias. And straightway one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink. The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him. Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
Jerome the historian wrote about the veil of the temple being rent in twain from the top to the bottom when Jesus died on the cross of Calvary. Jerome specifically mentioned a a massive stone lintel (a horizontal beam above the Temple veil) breaking in the Temple at the moment of Jesus' death on the cross of Calvary. In the second Temple (Herod's Temple), the veil was suspended from a monumental stone crossbeam or lintel. Some estimates suggest that this stone was over 30 feet long and weighed approximately 30 tons.
Jerome a 4th Century church father, cited an earlier source (the Gospel according to the Hebrews), stating that the exquisitely carved lintel of the temple, of immense size, to which the veil was fastened, was shattered to pieces, broken, and splintered during the earthquake when Jesus died on the cross of Calvary. The breaking of the massive stone lintel caused the heavy veil to tear from top to bottom as the supporting structure gave way. Because the veil (which was roughly 4 inches thick and as high as a six story building) hung directly from this lintel, the beam's collapse provided the physical force necessary to rip the heavy, multi-layered fabric of the veil from top to bottom. The stone lintel horizontal beam did not simply crack; it was shattered to pieces by a powerful earthquake at the moment of Jesus' death.
The sheer size of the veil supports the need for such a substantial stone support. Ancient sources like Josephus describe the veil as being roughly 60 feet high and 30 feet wide. It was approximately four inches thick and made of 72 woven squares. Due to its dense weave and massive dimensions, it was incredibly heavy. Tradition suggests that it required 300 priests to move or to change it. This event of the veil being rent in twain from the top to the bottom was a supernatural sign that the old religious order was ending and that the Holy of holies was now open to all believers. Jerome suggests that this event was so significant that it was reported by a great multitude of Jewish priests who later converted to Christianity.
Notice the picture above of the names of the 12 tribes of Israel located on the 12 gates of the kingdom of God. Now another word for gate is door and Jesus is the door or gate to enter into the kingdom of God. Jesus said at John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. When christians get to the kingdom of God they will see the names of the twelve tribes of Israel on three gates in the east, three gates in the west, three gates in the south, and three gates in the north. The revelation Jesus gave Brother Bob is that the Hebrew meanings for every one of the 12 tribes refers to Jesus.
Here is a list of the twelve tribes of Israel with their Hebrew definitions. Every definition refers to Jesus. 1) Reuben-Behold A Son (Jesus is the Son of God) 2) Simeon-Heard (Jesus hears us always and blesses us all) 3) Levi-Joined To (We all are Joint Heirs with Jesus) 4) Judah-Praised (With Jesus There Is Continuous Praise) 5) Zebulun-Exalted (Jesus will be exalted to be King of kings for ever) 6) Issachar-There is Recompense (Jesus is our Reward; Jesus said at Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be) 7) Manasseh-Causing to forget (With Jesus saints forget all bad thoughts and the devil) 8) Gad-Troop (Jesus is the Captain of the Lord's Host defined in Hebrew at Joshua 5 to be the General or Commander in Chief of the Army or Troop of Warring Angels led by the Archangel Michael) 9) Asher-Happy (Jesus will make us happy for ever) 10) Naphtali-Wrestling (Jesus suffered for us on the cross of Calvary and obtained eternal life for us) 11) Joseph-Jehovah Has Added (Jesus will give us exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us) 12) Benjamin-Son Of the Right Hand (Jesus is exalted for ever and sits at the right hand of the Father in the kingdom of God). In conclusion, Jesus is the only way, door, gate, and entrance into the kingdom of God.
