The Old Gate
The third gate that speaks about the christian life is the old gate. After getting saved at the sheep gate and witnessing Jesus everywhere at the fish gate, christians need to learn about the old paths of christianity at the old gate. Jeremiah 6:16 says Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Proverbs 22:28 says Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set. Walk in the old paths for Jesus and witness Jesus everywhere. Tell people everywhere Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.
We don't need a new ungodly way of reaching people with Jesus. The old blessed ways of reaching people with Jesus will save lost sinners. Keep preaching that the Lord Jesus was born from a virgin, died on the cross of Calvary, was buried, and rose again after three days. Keep telling people that the rapture will soon happen where christians will be caught up out of this troubled world to be with Jesus. Keep telling everyone that the most powerful weapon against the devil is the blood of Jesus. Revelation 12:11 says And they overcame him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death. Ask the angels of God to cover your home, car, job, and everywhere you go in the blood of Jesus to overcome the devil. We can't see the blood of Jesus but the blood of Jesus is real and will overcome any trouble, worry, or sickness from the devil.
Keep telling everyone to look to the cross of Calvary to receive power to overcome the troubles of this world. 1 Corinthians 1:18 says For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved it (the cross of Calvary) is the power of God. Keep telling the devil Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever, and my troubles have been destroyed by Jesus at the cross of Calvary. New songs for Jesus are blessed. But we should keep singing the old hymns to get blessed like Amazing Grace, Blessed Assurance, and Are You Washed In The Blood Of The Lamb (Jesus).
Only read the infallible, perfect 1611 KJV bible that has no mistakes. Tell everyone that any translated bible version like the NIV, NKJV, NASB, NLT, RSV, ESV, and hundreds of other false translated bibles should not be studied or read. These translated bibles deny that Jesus is God, the virgin birth of our Lord Jesus, and have errors. The devil attacks the KJV bible because God has magnified the KJV Word of God above the name of Jesus. Psalm 138:2 says I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for the truth: for thou hast magnified thy Word above all thy name. If it's new it's not true. If it's true it's not new.
The 1611 KJV bible is the best translation of the bible because it was the 7th English translation after Jesus died on the cross. Psalm 12:6 says The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. Note that the 6 prior English bible translations leading up to the 7th pure and perfect 1611 KJV bible translation are listed as follows: 1) Tyndale 2) Matthew 3) Coverdale 4) Geneva 5) Bishops and 6) Great Bible. Also 6 historical bible translations leading up to the 7th pure and perfect 1611 KJV bible translation are listed as follows: 1) Hebrew 2) Aramaic 3) Syriac in Antioch 4) Greek 5) Latin and 6) German by Luther.
Therefore preach, read, and study only from a 1611 KJV bible (purified seven times) that is the 7th best, pure, and perfect translation that God has preserved from this generation for ever. According to Revelation 3:10, the Philadelphia church that existed during 1611 KEPT and preserved the perfect KJV translation from this generation forever. The scripture says Because thou (the Philadelphia church) hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
Nehemiah 3:6-12 Speaks About The Old Gate's Ancient Paths
Nehemiah 3:6 tells us who repaired and built the old gate in Jerusalem. Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof. Jehoiada and Meshullam built the old gate because they had godly fathers that walked in the blessed old ways.
Note the Hebrew meanings for the builders of the old gate. Jehoiada means God knows. Paseah means a lame limper like Jacob who said Lord Jesus I won't let you go until you bless me. Jehoiada built the old gate because Paseah taught him the old ways of never quitting by continual prayer. Meshullam means befriended and rewarded for being a peacemaker. Besodeiah means in the counsel or assembly of God. Meshullam got rewarded for being a peacemaker with many friends who built the old gate because Besodeiah taught him the old ways of fellowshipping and assembling together in prayer to receive power.
Nehemiah 3:7 names other builders of the old gate. And next unto them repaired Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, unto the throne of the governor on this side (beyond) the river. Melatiah means God delivered. Jadon means God has heard because the people were thankful. Meronothite means a joyful shouter. Note that Melatiah and Jadon came from the cities of Gibeon and Mizpah that walked in the old ways of God. Gibeon means a hill city located by Mizpah that means a watchtower.
Melatiah got delivered and Jadon who was thankful built the old gate because they remembered the old ways taught at Gibeon and Mizpah. They remembered to always watch and pray while they joyfully shouted about their victory over this troubled world. Luke 21:36 says Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. 1 Corinthians 15:57 says But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Note that Melatiah and Jadon built the old gate unto the throne of the governor on this side (note that the Hebrew meaning for on this side is beyond) the river. In other words the governor beyond the Jordan river of Israel in a foreign land allowed the old gate to be built in his country. This foreign governor and the people of Gibeon and Mizpah prospered because they respected Jerusalem and blessed Israel by encouraging people to build the old gate. Psalm 122:6 says Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. God told Abram at Genesis 12:2 And I will make of thee a great nation (Israel), and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I wlll bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Remember any nation that blesses Israel and the Jews will be blessed. Any nation that curses Israel and the Jews will be cursed. It has been recorded that the reason that terrorists attacked and destroyed the World Trade Center in New York City USA on September 11, 2001 was because President George Bush had agreed with Prince Bandar of Saudi Arabia to declare a Palestinian state in Israel on September 11, 2001. God did not allow this to happen because when any nation fights Israel, they fight against God and will lose. Zechariah 12:9 says And it shall come to pass in that day, that I (the Lord Jesus) will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
Click the following link below proving that President George W. Bush
Planned To Make A Palestinian State on September 11, 2001
Per Agreement With Prince Bandar Of Saudi Arabia
The reason that New Orleans, Louisana suffered from Hurricane Katrina was because President Bush ordered all the Jews to leave Gaza, Israel. The day after the last Jew was ordered to leave Gaza, Israel, Hurricane Katrina landed in New Orleans, Louisana. It was wrong for President Clinton to give Gaza and the West Bank to the Muslims. The Jews don't just occupy Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank. The Jews own Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank. Genesis 15:18 says In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates.
Just days after President Barack Obama insisted that Israel must surrender lands it won through military victory with its enemies, around 200 people were killed by a tornado in Joplin, Missouri. Six of the seven costliest hurricanes in US History followed calls by US officials for Israel to make land concessions in bids for peace with its neighbors, and three of the four largest tornado outbreaks followed such calls.
Per God's covenant, Israel doesn't just occupy Gaza and the West Bank. Israel owns all the land from Egypt to the Euphrates river in Iraq including Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emerites, Yemen, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Gaza, and the West Bank. Per God's covenant with Abram, the Jews, and Israel, Israel doesn't just occupy this land. Israel owns this land. Therefore when any nation fights against Israel, they fight against God and will lose. All the saved saints will soon rule and reign with our Lord Jesus in Jerusalem during the kingdom of heaven on this earth.
Nehemiah 3:8 names some more builders of the old gate. Next unto him repaired Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths. Next unto him also repaired Hananiah the son of one of the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem unto the broad wall. Uzziel means God is my strength. Harhaiah means fear of God. Hananiah means gracious. Uzziel received strength to build the old gate because Harhaiah taught him the old ways of fearing God to receive blessings. Hananiah received grace to build the old gate because his father was an apothecary (pharmacist) that offered sweet smelling prayers of incense to God.
The prayers of saints are offered with incense by angels before the throne of God. Revelation 8:3 says And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. Note that a censer is a vessel used to burn sweet smelling incense during a religious ceremony.
Nehemiah 3:9 says And next unto them repaired Rephaiah the son of Hur, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem. Rephaiah means God heals. Hur means a noble man washed white as snow by the blood of Jesus. Rephaiah who was a doctor using medicine built the old gate because Hur taught him the old ways about how the blood of Jesus washes away our sins and makes us white as snow. Isaiah 1:18 says Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
Notice that all types of people joined together to build the gates of Jerusalem and witness the Lord Jesus everywhere. Pictured above goldsmiths, apothecaries who were pharmacists, doctors, rulers, priests, merchants and children all were willing to help build the gates of Jerusalem. Nehemiah 3:32 says And between the going up of the corner unto the sheep gate repaired the goldsmiths and the merchants. The gates of Jerusalem were not built by professional gatebuilders. The gates of Jerusalem were built by anyone who was available and willing to help build the gates.
Like the builders of the old gate, Are you willing to work for our Lord Jesus and witness Jesus everywhere? Christians might come from different backgrounds but christians have a common goal to witness the Lord Jesus everywhere. Christians should go the extra mile to encourage their brothers and sisters in the Lord. Galatians 6:10 says As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. Let's all obey Jesus' command at Mark 16:15 that says Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Like the goldsmiths, apothecaries, doctors, and rulers that built the old gate, every christian has a part in witnessing Jesus everywhere. 1 Corinthians 12:14 says For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole body were hearing, where were the smelling? But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased Him. And if they were all one member, where were the body? But now are they many members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary.
Don't Be Like Rehoboam Who Listened To The Young Rulers New Ways
Instead Of The Wise Elders Old Established Ways
Don't be like Rehoboam who listened to the young rulers new ways instead of the wise elders old established ways. Rehoboam forsook the old blessed ways and ruled the people with a heavy yoke with no mercy. God punished Rehoboam for failing to follow the old ways. Rehoboam lost ten tribes of Israel to Jeroboam where only Judah and Benjamin remained loyal to Rehoboam.
It's interesting that Rehoboam's Hebrew name means wide and broadened. Rehoboam chose the wide broad new way that leads to destruction instead of the strait narrow old way that leads to life. Matthew 7:13 says Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Don't be like Rehoboam and forsake the Lord Jesus and the blessed old ways. Choose to follow the blessed old ways of the KJV bible, get saved, and witness the Lord Jesus everywhere.
The story of how Rehoboam forsook the old blessed counsel of the old men is at 1 Kings 12:6. And king Rehoboam consulted with the old men, that stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, and said, How do ye advise that I may answer this people? And they spake unto him, saying, If thou wilt be servant unto this people this day, and wilt serve them, and answer them, and speak good words to them, then they will be thy servants for ever. But he forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him, and which stood before him. And he said unto them, What counsel give ye that we may answer this people, who have spoken to me, saying, Make the yoke which thy father did put upon us lighter?
1 Kings 12:10 goes on to say And the young men that were grown up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou speak unto this people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it lighter unto us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins. And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: My father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.
Nehemiah 3:10 names some more builders of the old gate. And next unto them repaired Jedaiah the son of Harumaph, even over against his house. And next unto him repaired Hattush the son of Hashabniah. Jedaiah means one who is praised because he knows God. Harumaph means dull of understanding with no perception. Hattush means assembled and forsaking sin. Hashabniah means thinking about God. Hattush who assembled and forsook sin, was willing to build the old gate because his father Hashabniah taught him the old ways about always remembering God.
Even though Jedaiah's father Harumaph was dull of understanding with no perception, Jedaiah chose to follow the Lord Jesus after he learned the blessed old ways about God. Note that Jedaiah first repaired the old gate by his own house before he repaired the old gate around other people's houses. Like Jedaiah, first repair your own house and take the beam out of your eye before you try to take the mote out of your brother's eye. Don't find fault with other people when you have not considered your own faults. If you first forsake your own sinful ways, then you can help others to forsake their sinful ways. Remember that your worst enemy outside of the devil is yourself. Matthew 7:3 says And why beholdest thou the mote (twig) that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
Be like Jedaiah and build the old gate around your house because your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost that needs to deny sin to receive peace and blessings from God. 1 Corinthians 6:19 says What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. Work on yourself and try to stop sinning every day by studying the Word of God, praying, and attending your local church. Every day when you look in the mirror tell yourself Now what are you up to today?
And while you build the old gate around your home, reverence and praise the Lord Jesus daily to receive strength and blessings. Remember that Psalm 127:1 says Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. Jesus is the vine and christians are the branches. Without the Lord Jesus we can do nothing. Jesus said at John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Praise Jesus daily with blessed hymns and spiritual songs to get blessed. David played a harp for Saul and Saul was refreshed. 1 Samuel 16:23 says And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him. Ephesians 5:19 says Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.
Be like Jedaiah and build the old gate around your house by teaching your family to reverence and respect the Lord Jesus. Mothers and fathers teach your children to first learn to shew piety and respect to the Lord Jesus and the KJV bible at home. 1 Timothy 5:4 says But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety (reverence and respect to the Lord Jesus) at home, and to requite their parents (honor your parents by restoring them with kind deeds): for that is good and acceptable before God. Note the qualification for a bishop listed at 1 Timothy 3:4 that says One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity (being pure, holy, and reverencing the Lord Jesus). Proverbs 22:6 says Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Nehemiah 3:11 names some more builders of the old gate. Malchijah the son of Harim, and Hashub the son of Pahathmoab, repaired the other piece, and the tower of the furnaces. Malchijah means My king is the Lord Jesus. Harim means dedicated and devoted. Hashub means intelligent, thoughtful, and considerate. Pahathmoab means a governor of Moab who feared God. Malchijah who worshipped king Jesus was willing to build the old gate because his father Harim was dedicated and devoted to God. Hashub was intelligent, thoughtful, and considerate, willing to build the old gate because his father Pahathmoab was a foreign governor that feared God.
Note that Malchijah and Hashub repaired the tower of the furnaces. In other words they repaired the ovens and stoves for kitchens. They made sure that the kitchens of everyone's homes were dedicated to the Lord. Be like Malchijah and Hashub and dedicate your kitchen and your home to the Lord Jesus. Like the family pictured above dedicate your kitchen to the Lord Jesus. Every time you eat any meal with your family, pray and talk about the Lord Jesus and God's Word. Teach your children to always pray, bless the food, and thank Jesus for the food before you eat any meal.
Be like Brother Bob and dedicate your entire home to the Lord Jesus. Anoint all the doors of your house with olive oil in the name of Jesus. Place the name of Jesus in bold letters everywhere in your house: On the front, back, bedroom, and bathroom doors, on the refrigerator and freezer, in the attic, on your computer and cellphone, and in your car. The name of Jesus and the olive oil will protect your house and property from the devil and any theft or harm.
Jesus said that the name of Jesus will cast out the devil forbidding him to steal, kill, or destroy. Jesus said at Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name (Jesus) shall they cast out devils. Brother Bob has had the name of Jesus in bold letters on his front door wherever he lived for 40 years and nothing ever got stolen or harmed. Every time I close my door and see the name Jesus, the name Jesus gives me peace and comfort that my house is safe. The name of Jesus is better than any home security alarm for protection. Proverbs 18:10 says The name of the Lord (Jesus) is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
Nehemiah 3:12 names some more builders of the old gate. And next unto him, repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters. Shallum means to recompense and make whole or complete. Halohesh means an enchanter that whispered and slandered. Even though Shallum had a wicked father Halohesh who was an enchanter that slandered, Shallum feared God's old ways and built the old gate while he became whole and complete.
Note that the two rulers of the half parts of Jerusalem named Rephaiah and Shallum were willing to work with the citizens and build the old gate. Even though Rephaiah and Shallum were rulers, they rolled up their sleeves, pitched in, helped build the old gate, and witnessed Jesus everywhere. These rulers didn't just supervise. These rulers worked and built the old gate. Be like Rephaiah and Shallum, willing to work and witness for Jesus everywhere. Jesus said at Matthew 23:11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. My title is servant Brother Bob.
Don't be lazy. Write about Jesus on the internet, help your local church pastor and its members, visit the widows, orphans, and senior citizens. and call people with kind words of encouragement. Note the following scriptures that warn us not to be lazy. Proverbs 20:13 says Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread. Proverbs 23:21 says For the drunkard and glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.
Note that Shallum was a blessed parent that taught his daughters to serve the Lord Jesus and help build the old gate. Be a blessed parent like Shallum and make it a family activity to serve the Lord Jesus while you build the old gates by witnessing Jesus everywhere. To any woman reading this bible study, be like the blessed daughters of Shallum pictured above who were willing to help build the old gate.
Proverbs 31:10 says Who can find a virtuous woman (called a strong, efficient, and valiant woman)? for her price is far above rubies. I pray in Jesus name that any woman reading this will become virtuous, strong, efficient, and valiant by working and witnessing for Jesus everywhere like the daughters of Shallum.
Final Thoughts About The Old Gate
I conclude this bible study with some final thoughts about the old gate and remembering the old ways of Jesus and the KJV bible. Hebrews 2:1 says Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip (escape from our minds). In other words keep meditating on bible scriptures daily, lest at any time we should let them slip and escape from our minds. Ransack the KJV bible. Meditate on God's Word morning, noon, and night. Rejoice about God's Word like you found buried treasure. Say Psalm 119:162 I rejoice at thy Word, as one that findeth great spoil.
Don't be like the church of Ephesus who left their first love and forgot the blessed old ways of praying, witnessing for Jesus, and studying the Word of God. Jesus told the church of Ephesus at Revelation 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
Finally be a good householder (master of your house) bringing forth out of your treasure things new and old. Matthew 13:52 says Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old. The bible speaks about blessed new things. Christians will receive a white stone with a new name and dwell in a new heaven and a new earth in a city called the new Jerusalem.
But the bible also speaks about blessed old things. Keep singing the blessed old hymns and reading and preaching from that blessed old book called the 1611 KJV bible. The old ways of the KJV bible never get boring and outdated. There are infinite truths to learn about Jesus from the Word of God. The KJV bible is like a christmas present that is always new every time you study and read the bible. John 21:25 says And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written, Amen.
Christians will receive three names in heaven according to Revelation 3:12 (the name of God, the name new Jerusalem, and Jesus' new name). Jesus said Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. What a great joy to learn Jesus' new name in heaven.
I pray in Jesus name that this bible study blesses multitudes everywhere with great joy, peace, and strength.
