How To Pray Effectively Like Ann Preston And John Praying Hyde

1) Pray Effectively By Asking And Telling Jesus About All Your Problems

Don't React To Any Problem/First Tell Jesus The Problem In Prayer

And Jesus Will Fix All Your Problems

     Instead of reacting to problems and trying to fix them without God, first tell Jesus about the problem in prayer, and Jesus will fix every problem with a solution. The bible promises that Jesus will answer all your problems after you pray at Matthew 21:22 that says And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. In other words, tell Jesus about every problem in your life and you will receive an answer and peace to overcome any trouble. Unfortunately, most people try to fix problems on their own before seeking an answer from God for their problems. Take God at His Word and tell Jesus about every single problem bothering you instead of reacting and trying on your own to fix anything. Jesus will give you the solution to fix any problem and give you deliverance from any trouble. 

     Jesus told us at John 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name, Ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. James 4:2 tells us you have not because you ask not. The Lord Jesus is waiting for you to tell Him your problems so He can fix them. The saints that ask and tell Jesus the most about their problems get blessed the most.  Philippians 4:6 tells us Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Make all your requests known to God while you praise Jesus with thanksgiving and you will receive peace that passeth all understanding and deliverance from all your problems. 

     Finally remember that Jesus will not answer requests for sinful pleasures. James 4:2 tells us Ye lust, and have not; ye kill and desire to have and cannot obtain ;Ye fight and war, yet ye have not because ye ask not. Ye ask and receive not because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Remember the bible says that if anyone regards iniquity or sin in their heart, God will not even hear their prayers. Get saved today so your prayers can be answered; Repent and stop sinning, confess Jesus to be your God, and believe that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again.  

     In order to deny sin daily to have your prayers answered, daily meditate on the Word, go to church, and pray daily. While you meditate and memorize the bible daily, your faith will increase and you will believe your prayer requests. The result will be answered prayer because of faith from the Word. Romans 10:17 tells us So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. And the more you read and memorize the bible and go to church to hear the Word, the more God will answer your prayers. Listen to God and God will listen to you. You listen to God by reading the Word and hearing the sermons by preachers at church. 

    Deny sin daily and walk in the perfect will of God to get your prayers answered by God. If you're walking with God and denying sin you will ask for the right things and get answers and solutions.  1 John 5:4 encourages us saying And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will (not according to our lusts), he heareth us. And if we know that He hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him. 

     Finally, pray with a mustard seed of faith in Jesus name and Matthew 17:20 promises that the mountain in your way will move and nothing will be impossible for you. And get in the habit of praying immediately when you get out of bed in the morning before doing any chores. If you first tell Jesus each day about your problems early in the morning the rest of your day will be blessed. Proverbs 8:17 promises that you'll find Jesus if you seek him early every morning; The blessed scripture says I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.   

A Woman That Prayed Effectively Named Holy Ann Preston

     Ann Preston was a blessed woman that knew how to pray effectively. She lived 96 years from 1810 to 1906 in Canada. Ann was a humble lowly servant that received many amazing answers to her prayers. She always prayed two hours every day and tried to deny sin. Ann Preston didn't know the alphabet and couldn't even read a newspaper; But Jesus blessed Ann to memorize and quote most of the bible. People from all over the world would request Ann Preston to pray for them and they got healed and victory over many problems. Three Incredible Miracles That Occurred After Ann Preston Prayed

1) The Miracle Of Water In A Dry Well  

     While Ann Preston was a housekeeper for a family of children in Thornhill Canada, a long and scorching summer had completely dried up the well in the farmyard. For many weeks the children had to haul water from another well miles away from the farm. One night after the boys were tired from hauling the water, a little boy named Henry asked Ann Preston to pray for him. Henry asked Ann, Why don't you ask your God to send water in that well and not have us boys work so hard?

     That night in childlike faith, Ann Preston prayed this prayer. Father you have heard what Henry said to me tonight. Will you please send water into the farm's well tomorrow morning?  Jesus immediately told Ann that her prayer was answered. The next morning Henry saw to his great surprise and amusement that Ann was on her way to the well with two empty pails in her hands. 

     Ann by faith lowered the two pails into what had been a bone dry well not many hours before. Now instead of the thud of a pail striking the hard bottom of the well, there was a splash as the pails hit what was quite a depth of water. Soon the two pails were filled to the brim and Ann Preston returned in a joyful triumph to the house. And it has been reliably reported that never again was this well known to be dry either in summer or winter. If you went to visit this well today by the farm where Ann Preston lived, it would always be full of water. 

2) The Miracle Of A Path Created In The Snow To Attend Church

     One day, Ann Preston wanted to go to church. But when she woke up, to her dismay she noticed that there had been a heavy snowfall. Ann prayed Father will you please send someone to make a path in the snow for me so I can attend church tonight. When Ann prayed the prayer, there was no man in the house to shovel a path to the church that was two miles down the road. 

     After Ann prayed, she heard several girls in her house laughing and saying "Come and see what is making a path for Ann." When Ann looked out the window, there were five horses running up and down the street in colt like fashion making a perfectly beaten path through the deep snow from Ann Preston's house to the church. And then the five horses went back into the main road and scattered in different directions. When Ann attended the church meeting that night, she told everyone with a smiling face how God had opened a path through the deep snow for her to attend church.

3) The Miracle Of Money Found In The Snow By A Small Hill

     One night several girls returning from a church service lost money in the snow. The girls looked all evening with a lantern for the lost money with no success. After the girls told Ann Preston about the lost money, Ann prayed Father keep the money for these little girls wherever it is. Early in the morning, Ann was wakened by God with the following instruction; Arise and get the money that you told me to keep for you last night. While Ann Preston went outside and walked down a path, God stopped her and had her look at the money lying almost hidden in the snow by the side of a small hill.

     Then Ann Preston picked up the money and returned joyfully to the little girls. Ann told the little girls here's the money that you were searching for all night. The girls replied Please Ann don't mention this at Sunday school or the people will think that we were so careless. Like Ann Preston, a lady once asked Brother Bob to pray that God would provide her forty dollars to pay her bills. While we were walking in a CVS Pharmacy right after praying, God placed forty dollars on the floor in front of the lady. The lady rejoiced and picked up the money and paid her bills.

A Man That Prayed Effectively Named John Praying Hyde

How John Praying Hyde's Prayers Blessed India With A Revival

     In 1888, a young man named John Hyde went to Bible College in Carthage, Illinois. After praying all night, John Hyde decided to travel to India to be a missionary. When John arrived in India he found the people very unreceptive to the gospel. For eight years he labored without any results. It seemed that no matter how hard he worked, no matter how many people he witnessed to, nothing happened. 

     Finally, John Hyde decided to pray and fast until there was a revival in India. For thirty days he did not eat and he spent each day on his face before God praying for revival in India. At one time during the thirty days, John Hyde spent thirty six continuous hours on his knees begging God for His power. While John was praying the people of India called him "The man who never sleeps." And all the people of India called him "Praying Hyde." After the thirty days, christian saints everywhere in India became convicted about a great need for revival. All the christians in India agreed to pray every day for a half an hour until revival happened in India.

     And revival occurred in India because of the prayers of John Praying Hyde. During the first year of the revival, John Hyde determined to win one soul a day for one year. After one year, Mr. Hyde personally baptized more than 400 of his own converts. Then the next year, Praying Hyde determined to win two souls a day for one year. At the end of that year 800 precious souls had received Jesus as their Saviour. And finally the next year, Praying Hyde determined to win four souls a day for one year. At the end of that year, 1600 precious souls had received Jesus as their Lord. 

     In my study of great men, I don't know of a man that had any greater burden or prayed more fervently for a foreign field as John Hyde did for India. He had accomplished what his predecessor William Carey had said years earlier "Expect great things from God; Attempt great things for God."

     Winston Churchill planned his own funeral down to the last detail. According to his direction, following the benediction a bugler positioned high in the dome of a church played taps-the univeral signal that the day is over and ended. Then after the last note of taps, from the other side of the great dome, another bugler played Reveille-the universal signal for a new day beginning. 

     Remember friends, at death Taps may be played here on earth, but Reveille will instantly be played in heaven. 2 Corinthians 5:8 promises We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body (Taps) and to be present (Reveille) with the Lord. Jesus took away the sting of death for all saints; When any saint leaves this earth, they won't hear taps; they will hear Reveille

     Christians should never say goodbye at the graveside; There is hope for saints and they can say "I'll see you again my friend." Don't dread death; Taps may play here, but we will have Reveille there in heaven. Listen for the Reveille trumpet. Even so Come Lord Jesus Revelation 22:20.

     Friend reading this anywhere, you can hear Reveille instead of Taps by getting saved today. Just repent and confess Jesus to be your God, believing Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again. You will escape death and hell and be blessed forevermore with eternal life, peace, and happiness.

     When people asked DL Moody Why do you press so hard to get people saved? Don't you know that the world is getting to be a better place in which to live? Mr. Moody answered, "I picture the world as a wrecked vessel drawing nearer and nearer to destruction; and God gave me a lifeboat and said, Here, Moody, save all you can." Hallelujah DL Moody was faithful and won a million souls to Jesus. My favorite quote of DL Moody is I've never met a man that gave me more trouble than myself.      CT Studd was a very wealthy man that gave away all of his money to be a missionary in China, India, and Africa. CT Studd said If Jesus Christ be God and He died for me, then there is no sacrifice too great for me to make for Him. I may never be what I wish to be for Christ, but one thing I can, will and should be is loyal; I want to hear Him say to me, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." CT Studd inherited millions of dollars from his family and gave it all away to help win souls for Jesus by blessing the ministries of DL Moody and George Muller. Because of his sacrifice, millions of souls were saved in China and Africa. My favorite CT Studd quote is Some want to live within the sound of church or chapel bell but I want to run a rescue shop within a yard of hell. Remember replace the exit sign in your church with the words You are now entering the mission field.

     George Muller said there was a day that I utterly died to George Muller and his opinions, preferences, tastes, and will; died to the world, its approval or censure; and since then I have studied only to show myself approved unto God. George Muller trusted daily that Jesus would provide food for thousands of orphans that he cared for. One day when there was no food for breakfast, George Muller thanked Jesus by faith for food and milk; Then immediately a woman knocked at the door with enough bread and molasses to feed all the orphans. Then a farmer's wagon lost a wheel in the front of the orphanage that was carrying many bottles of milk. The farmer said that George Muller could take all the milk for the orphans.  

A Blessed Story About A Boy Picking Up Starfish

     A man was walking along a beach at sunset. He could see a young boy in the distance. The boy kept bending down, picking something up and throwing it into the water. The boy was picking up starfish one at a time that had been washed up and he was throwing them back into the water. 

     The man asked the boy what he was doing. The boy replied I am throwing these washed up starfish back into the ocean or else they will die. The man told the boy you can't possibly save them all; there are thousands on this beach; you can't possibly make a difference. The little boy smiled, bent down, and picked up another starfish and as he threw it back into the ocean he replied, I made a difference to that one.

What's Wrong With The Rich Young Ruler's Request To Jesus

Good Master What Good Thing Shall I Do

That I May Have Eternal Life

1) Jesus is God And Not Just A Good Master

     Let's see what's wrong with a rich young ruler's request to Jesus for salvation at Matthew 19:16 that says And behold one came and said unto Him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life? This rich young ruler did not get saved because he did not call Jesus Lord God; instead he only called Jesus a good master. Today Jehovah witnesses, muslims, and jews also do not call Jesus God and only say Jesus was a great man, prophet, and teacher. Friends, you can't get saved until you repent and confess everywhere that Jesus is God, believing Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again. 

     Notice that when anyone called Jesus Lord (God), they received miracles and blessings. Right now get saved and call Jesus your Lord and get your prayers answered with blessed results. Mary called Jesus Lord at John 11:32 and witnessed a miracle. Mary said to Jesus, Lord if thou hadst been here my brother had not died. In response, Jesus raised her brother Lazarus from the dead after four days. And at Luke 23:42-43 when the thief on the cross told Jesus Lord (not good master) when thou comest into thy kingdom remember me, Jesus replied with a blessing To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. Therefore to receive blessings from Jesus you must call him your Lord instead of just a good master, teacher, and prophet.

     Notice also at Mark 9:24 that because a father with a demon possessed son told Jesus Lord I believe help thou mine unbelief, a blessing occurred and his son was delivered and healed. Now look at Jesus' response to the rich young ruler who called him good master. Jesus replied at Matthew 19:17 Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one that is God. In other words, Jesus told the rich young ruler, I'm not just a good master; I'm God and I'm good.

2) The Bible Declares That Jesus Is God

Receive Salvation And Blessings Today By Confessing Jesus To Be Your God

You Can't Get Blessed Just Calling Jesus A Good Master, Prophet, and Teacher

Listed Below Are Many Scriptures That Proclaim That Jesus Is God

     Notice the test to know if someone truly is of God is listed at 1 John 4:2 that says Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ (defined as God) is come in the flesh is of God. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God; and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it shall come; and even now is it already in the world. In other words anyone that confesses that Jesus is God come in the flesh is the right spirit; but anyone that tells you that Jesus is not God come in the flesh (that Jesus is just a great teacher, man, and prophet like the Jehovah witnesses, muslims, and jews) has the spirit of the antichrist and a wrong spirit. According to Romans 10:9 you can't get saved until you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus.

     Now here is a list of many scriptures that proclaim that Jesus is God come in the flesh. The Father called Jesus God at Hebrews 1:8 that says But unto the Son, He (the Father) saith, Thy throne O God is forever and ever; A sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of the thy kingdom. Jesus said He is God at John 12:45 proclaiming And he that seeth me seeth Him that sent me. Again Jesus proclaimed He is God at John 13:13 saying Ye call me Master and Lord, and ye say well; for so I am. If then your Lord and Master have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another's feet. 

     Then Jesus told Philip He is God at John 14:9 saying Have I been so long time with you and yet hast thou not known me Philip; he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, shew us the Father? John 17:3 declares that Jesus is God saying And this is life eternal, that they might know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. In other words, the only way to be saved with eternal life is to know and believe that Jesus Christ is the only true God. Romans 14:9 says Jesus is God not only of the living but also of the dead in Christ saying For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that He might be Lord both of the dead and the living. Finally, Peter proclaimed Jesus is God at Acts 2:36 saying Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye crucified, both Lord and Christ.

3) Look At Jesus' Response To The Rich Young Ruler

Why callest thou me good? There is none good, but one, that is God.

This makes one say Is Jesus good? Yes Jesus is good and perfect and God

Notice Below How Even Jesus' Worst Enemies Said That Jesus Is Good

     First Pontius Pilate proclaimed that Jesus is good at Luke 23:4 saying four times I find no fault in this man. Then the Roman centurion at the cross that put a spear into Jesus' side proclaimed that Jesus is good at Luke 23:47 where he said Certainly this was a righteous man. And at Matthew 27:54 this same centurion declared Truly this was the Son of God. Finally, Judas Iscariot (Jesus' worst enemy who is the devil antichrist in the flesh) proclaimed that Jesus is good at Matthew 27:4 saying I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood.

     And how about the many scriptures listed below that prove that Jesus is good, perfect, and without any sin or fault. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says For He hath made Him (Jesus) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. Hebrews 4:15 tells us For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 1 John 3:5 declares And ye know that He (Jesus) was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him is no sin. 

     Bottom line; Jesus is good and Jesus is God. 1 Peter 2:22 speaks about Jesus saying Who did not sin, neither was guile found in His mouth. And Hebrews 9:14 says How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God. And wow what a powerful statement from Jesus to many hypocrites at John 8:46 where He said Which of you convinceth me of sin? No mortal man could make this statement because all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Only Jesus could say this because Jesus is perfect. 

4) The Rich Young Ruler Was Wrong Thinking

What Good Thing Shall I Do To Get Saved

     Finally, the rich young ruler was wrong telling Jesus what good thing shall I do to get saved. Ephesians 2:8 says For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. Most people are like the rich young ruler and think that good works will save them. If you ask most people Are you saved? They will reply yes I was baptized, I'm a good Catholic, I've taken communion, I go to church every Sunday, and I've been a good person and helped thousands with good deeds all my life. Only a few people will give the correct answer saying I'm saved because I repented of my sins, confessed Jesus to be my God, and believed that Jesus died for me on the cross, was buried, and rose again. Salvation is in a person Jesus and not in any plan of good works. Only faith in Jesus and not in yourself can save you. If we could save ourselves by our good works, Jesus wouldn't even have had to die on the cross.

Stop trying to save yourself with good works

Quit trying and start trusting in Jesus to save you

     The bible says that the rich young ruler said that he kept the commandments and should be saved. The rich young ruler told Jesus that he obeyed the first nine commandments (didn't steal and honored his parents). But when Jesus told him the last commandment Thou shalt not covet; sell that thou hast and give to the poor and thou shalt have treasure in heaven and come and follow me, the rich young ruler went away sorrowful and did not get saved for he had great possessions.

     Then when the disciples witnessed how the rich young ruler lost salvation, they asked Jesus Who then can be saved? Now rejoice and say the words of our Lord Jesus With men this is impossible but with God all things are possible. You can't save yourself by good works from your sin but God can save you through faith in the Lord Jesus. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him (In Jesus not in yourself) should not perish but have everlasting life.

1) Start A Prayer Meeting

In 1857 Jeremiah Lanphier's Little Prayer Meeting

Started A Great Revival On This Earth

     On September 23, 1857 a christian layman named Jeremiah Lanphier held his first ever businessmen's prayer meeting from Noon to 1PM in lower Manhatten New York City. It was not by all accounts a rousing success. Jeremiah sent out thousands of  flyers about his prayer meeting for several weeks. At first only six men attended the prayer meeting once a week. 

     But after the prayer meetings began, the stock market crashed and thousands of families lost all their money and possessions. Week by week, Jeremiah Lanphier's tiny lunch hour prayer meeting grew larger and larger. Eventually, instead of only 6 men praying once a week, 10000 men were praying every day from Noon to 1PM. This was the greatest spiritual awakening that the modern world had ever seen. 

     The New York newspapers took notice and when word traveled to other American cities, America experienced spontaneous revival everywhere. In Cleveland, Ohio and St. Louis, Missouri, thousands of people gathered together in downtown churches and homes three times each day for prayer. In Chicago, Illinois churches had to have waiting lists for people wanting to teach Sunday school. And all across America, pastors were baptizing 20000 new believers every week.

     When other countries in the world learned of Jeremiah Lanphier's revival, they also experienced revival. In England, entire towns were converted to Jesus. Some towns disbanded their police force because of a lack of crime. And because millions of people got saved because of the prayers from Jeremiah Lanphier's little prayer group, churches all over the world had to hold services outside just to accomodate the crowds. Wow, God started this spectacular worldwide revival with just one man named Jeremiah Lanphier that changed the course of history.

2) Have A Group Pray for Specific People Continually

     RA Torrey told the following story about a few godly men in a little town in Maine that formed a prayer group. They all agreed to center their prayers on the hardest man of their town who was a hopeless drunkard. In just a week, this man got gloriously saved. Then they centered their prayers on the next hardest man of the town and soon he also got saved. And as they kept praying for the lost sinners of their town, 300 souls were brought to Jesus and saved. Remember definite prayer for lost sinners will start a revival where untold numbers of souls will become saved.

     I pray in Jesus name that someone reading this story will gather groups of people to pray for specific lost sinners and win them to Jesus Christ. Choose the worst, meanest, and hopeless sinner in your city and pray constantly for their salvation. I believe that hopeless sinner will get saved and revival will begin.

     When you pray, pray with a mustard seed of faith in the name of Jesus. Matthew 17:20 promises If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Instead of struggling and praying hard in yourself for hours, pray with just a mustard seed of faith and watch mountains and problems disappear forever. And remember Jesus said at John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 

     And remember the way to get all your prayers answered: Abide In Jesus constantly. Jesus said at John 15:7 If ye abide in me and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. The reason God will answer all your prayers is because when anyone abides in Jesus they will not sin. Deny sin daily because God doesn't hear our prayers when we sin. Psalm 66:18 says If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. To deny sin daily, stay in the Word, go to Church, and keep Praying. You see Word, Church, and Prayer every day will deny sin and get your prayers answered.  

3) Pray Before Making Life Changing Decisions

     RA Torrey said the reason why so many people fail in battle is because they wait until the hour of the battle. The reason why others succeed is because they have gained the victory on their knees long before the battle came. Anticipate your battles. Fight them on your knees before the temptation comes and you will always have victory. James 5:16 The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

     Philippians 4:6 tells us Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. In other words, don't react to a problem and make an unwise decision; Pray and tell God about your problem or life changing decision and wait for God's answer and direction before you move. Without God, we should fear to move; But when He bids us go, it is dangerous to tarry.

     And finally have importunity when you pray by persistently asking God to grant your prayer request. People will tell you that if you ask God a request more than once you lack faith. This is wrong because Jesus Himself prayed the same prayer and words three times in the garden of gesthemene. Matthew 26:44 records And He (Jesus) left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

     Pictured above because of the man's importunity (persistent prayer request) for three loaves of bread at midnight, his prayer request was granted. The more you continuously pray with persistence for a request, your faith will increase and Jesus will honor your faith and grant your request. Luke 18:1 tells us Men ought always to pray, and not to faint. Keep praying for lost souls everywhere to get saved. Tell people everywhere continously to get saved, repent, confess Jesus to be God, and believe that Jesus died for them on the cross, was buried, and rose again.
