The Goings Forth Of Jesus Part Three

Well friends, let's look at some more goings forth of Jesus recorded in the Word of God. The prophet Micah stated at Micah 5:2 that the goings forth of Jesus have been from of old, from everlasting. Pictured above we see another goings forth of our Lord Jesus when Jesus as the capital A Angel of the Lord went before Moses and the children of Israel in a pillar of cloud and fire to cut off their enemies.

This capital A Angel of the Lord that led Moses and the children of Israel was Jesus as God because the bible says that this Angel of the Lord had the power to pardon transgressions. Exodus 23:20 speaks about this Angel of the Lord who was Jesus as God that forgives sins and says Behold, I send a capital A Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. Beware of Him, and obey His voice, provoke Him not; for He will not pardon your transgressions; for my name is in Him. (Wow this scripture is saying to beware, fear and obey this Angel of the Lord who is Jesus as God who can pardon transgressions).

Exodus 23:22 goes on to say But if thou shalt indeed obey His voice, and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries. For mine capital A Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, and I will cut them off.

Jesus is the capital A Angel of the Lord who is God having the power to forgive sins. Jesus proved He was God that forgives sins when He said to the man sick of the palsy Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee at Matthew 9:2. The scribes responded to Jesus and said who can forgive sins but God only at Mark 2:7. Then Jesus proved to the scribes that He was God who could forgive sins by healing the man sick of the palsy proving that the healing of the soul is more important than the healing of the body. The healing of the body is important but Jesus showed us that it is more important to rejoice with good cheer as we save and win souls to the kingdom of God.

Pictured above we see that Moses did not obey the instructions of the Angel of the Lord Jesus when he smote the Rock (who was Jesus) two times to give the children of Israel water to drink. First, God told Moses to smite the Rock; But,the next time, God told Moses to speak to and not smite the Rock. Because Moses disobeyed this second command by smiting the Rock twice, Moses could not enter into the promised land.

The Rock that Moses smote was Jesus because 1 Corinthians 10:4 says And did all drink the same spiritual drink; for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ. You see God had Moses initially smite the Rock Jesus once because Jesus at the cross was smitten one time for our sins. Romans 6:10 says For in that He died, He died unto sin once (not many times), but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God. After Jesus died once on the cross for our sins, Jesus did not have to smitten or sacrificed any more for our sins.

God was telling Moses smite the Rock Jesus only one time to remove sins. But when Moses disobeyed God and wanted to keep smiting the Rock Jesus two more times, Moses could not enter the promised land because he disobeyed God's instructions to speak to and not smite the Rock Jesus a second time. Jesus, unlike the high priests under the law, did not have to keep sacrificing Himself and be smitten many times to remove our sins. Jesus' one death at the cross removed our sins forevermore.

First, God told Moses to smite the Rock at Exodus 17:6 that says Behold I will stand before thee upon the Rock in Horeb and thou shalt smite the Rock and there shall come water out of it that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. But, the next time the people wanted water from the Rock, God told Moses to speak to and not smite the Rock.

The second time God told Moses to speak to and not smite the Rock is recorded at Numbers 20:7 that says And the Lord spake unto Moses saying Take the rod and gather thou the assembly together, thou and Aaron thy brother and speak ye (notice God told Moses to speak to and not smite the Rock) unto the Rock before their eyes and it shall give forth His water and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the Rock, so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.

Moses disobeyed God's command and Numbers 20:11 says And Moses lifted up his hand and with his rod he smote the Rock twice, and the water came out abundantly and the congregation drank and their beasts also. And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

OK, you might say Brother Bob why are you placing a picture above of a remote monastery built on a Rock that is accessible only by an aerial tramway on your book for Jesus? The reason is to prove that our bodies are the temple of the living God that needs to daily be built upon the Rock Jesus to live and have peace. Daily with your hearts, look by faith to Jesus crucified as you build your house on the Rock Jesus, telling the devil I am crucified with Christ and the blood of Jesus has overcome and defeated you devil forevermore. Matthew 7:24 says Therefore, whosoever heareth these sayings of mine and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man which built his house upon a Rock. And the rain descended and the floods came and the winds blew and beat upon that house and it fell not, for it was founded upon a Rock (Jesus).

You see our Rock Jesus is not like the other rocks of this world that people worship. (Their rock is not as our Rock). Deuteronomy 32:30 says How should one chase a thousand and two put ten thousand to flight, except their rock had sold them and the Lord had shut them up? For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges. Be encouraged friend reading this anywhere because our Rock Jesus is greater than any other rock in this world. 1 John 4:4 tells us Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He (Jesus) that is in you, than he that is in the world.  Pictured above we see that Jesus as the Rock encouraged us all and said at Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou are Peter and upon this Rock (Jesus) I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

OK, pictured above we see another goings forth of our Lord Jesus when Joshua was visited by the Lord Jesus as the captain of the Lord's host before Joshua conquered Jericho. The apostle Paul told us in the new testament that Jesus is the captain of our salvation that appeared to Joshua at Hebrews 2:10 that says For it became Him (Jesus) for whom are all things and by whom are all things in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Jesus is called the captain (defined as the general commander) of the Lord's host (defined as an army of angels). James 5:4 also tells us that Jesus is the Lord of sabaoth (also defined as the captain general over an army host of angels). Be encouraged friends for the Word promises us all at Psalm 91:11 For He (Jesus) shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

The scripture that talks about Jesus appearing to Joshua as the captain of the Lord's host is at Joshua 5:13 and says And it came to pass when Joshua was by Jericho that he lifted up his eyes and looked and behold there stood a man over against him with this sword drawn in his hand, and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him; Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? And He said, Nay, but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and did worship (notice Joshua worshipped Jesus as Lord), and said unto him; What saith my Lord unto his servant? And the captain of the Lord's host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot, for the place whereon thou standest is holy; and Joshua did so.

Notice that in the scripture above, Joshua had the nerve to say to our Lord Jesus, Are you for us or for our adversaries? Jesus responded and told Joshua, son I didn't come to take sides, I came to take over. And Jesus went forth with His angels as the captain of the Lord's host to win the victory for Joshua at the battle of Jericho.

Now after Jesus won the victory for Joshua at the battle of Jericho, pictured above we see that the Lord Jesus gave Joshua great authority, as Joshua said sun stand thou still and the sun stood still over Gibeon. Then Joshua said moon stand thou still over Ajalon in the valley, and the moon didn't move and the sun didn't move until God's people won the victory.

The story about the above picture is recorded at Joshua 10:12 and says then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun stand thou still upon Gibeon, and thou moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still and the moon stayed until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is this not written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven and hasted not to go down about a whole day. And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man, for the Lord fought for Israel.

For our final goings forth of our Lord Jesus, we see pictured above Jesus as the Son of God walking in the midst of the burning fiery furnace with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Nebuchadnezzar proclaimed that he saw the Lord Jesus as the Son of God and fourth man in the burning fiery furnace loosing the three hebrew boys who were not harmed by the fire.

Daniel 3:23 tells us how Jesus visited and freed the three hebrew boys from the burning fiery furnace and says And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. He answered, and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

Daniel 3:26 goes on to say Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire. And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

Just a little note of a blessed saying I heard from a country preacher this week. When the Lord Jesus descends from heaven with a shout, and we hear the voice of the archangel Michael and the trump of God (the three casket rattling sounds), the dead in Christ will rise first and say O grave where is thy victory, then we which are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and say O death where is thy sting.

Everyone, as always it is a great joy to write these bible studies that I pray in Jesus name will give multitudes of people peace and strength. The Goings Forth Of Jesus Part Two

Friends for today's bible study we will look at some more goings forth of our Lord Jesus. Pictured above we see another going forth of Jesus that occurred when Jesus appeared as Melchizedek, the King of righteousness and King of Peace to Abraham. Genesis 14:18 tells us about the above pictures saying And Melchizedek king of Salem (Peace) brought forth bread and wine (remembering the crucifixion of Jesus by communion with the breaking of bread and drinking of the wine), and He was the priest of the most high God. And he blessed him (Abraham) and said, Blessed is Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth. And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

Let me give you all three scriptures proving that Jesus is Melchizedek defined as the King of righteousness and King of Salem or peace who appeared to Abraham. First Revelation 19:16 proclaims Jesus to be the King of kings and says And He (Jesus) hath on His vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. And 1 Corinthians 1:30 tells us that Jesus is righteousness saying But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. Therefore Jesus is Melchizedek who is the King of righteousness that blessed Abraham. The prophet Isaiah also proclaimed Jesus to be the King of Salem or the Prince of Peace at Isaiah 9:6 that says For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

OK, now let's all look at Hebrews 6:20 and Hebrews 7 that also proclaims Jesus to be Melchisedec who appeared to Abraham. Hebrews 6:20 says Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. For this Melchisedec, King of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning form the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is King of Peace. Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life, but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

Wow, the above scripture says Melchisedec is the Son of God who is Jesus. And Jesus is without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days nor end of life. Jesus said a John 8:58 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM. Jesus also said at Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty God.

OK, you might say Brother Bob what can we learn from the two pictures above of a Levite priest and a photo remembering Jesus as a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. First, one must look at how the law proclaimed that only the tribe of Levi could be priests. Joshua 18:7 says But the Levites have no part among you, for the priesthood of the Lord is their inheritance. But now the law has been changed and the priesthood comes from the tribe of Judah where Jesus as the Lion of the tribe of Juda is our high priest forevermore after the order of Melchisedec.

Take time to read Hebrews 7:11 that proclaims that the priesthood forevermore with Jesus comes from the tribe of Judah and not Levi as the law is changed. Hebrews 7:11 says If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, for under it the people received the law, what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law. For He of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance of the altar. For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda, of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

Now friends everywhere rejoice and praise Jesus as you say out loud Hebrews 7:15 that says And it is yet far more evident; for that after the simultude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest (Jesus) who is made not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. For He testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melshisedec.

And now Jesus is our high priest who ever liveth to make intercession for us. Hebrews 7:25 tells us Wherefore His is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them. Be encouraged friends; The effectual fervent prayer of this righteous man Jesus as our high priest forevermore availeth much. Jesus is constantly praying blessings and peace for his saints as the high priest forevermore.

Alright, one last discussion about our high priest forevermore named Jesus. The first picture above is of a high priest under the law who could not sit down in the temple because his job was never done as he continually offered sacrifices that could not remove sin. But hallelujah, the second picture above shows us that the high priest Jesus got the job done of removing our sins forevermore when He died on the cross of calvary and sat down on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens. Jesus made a statement by sitting down as our high priest and proclaiming at the cross it is finished as Jesus removed our sins forevermore by the sacrifice of Himself.

The scripture that says the high priests under the law constantly stood in the temple offering sacrifices that could not remove our sins is at Hebrews 10:11 and says And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. The scripture that says that Jesus sat down as our high priest removing our sins forevermore is at Hebrews 8:1 that says Now of the things which we have spoken, this is the sum: We have such an high priest (Jesus) who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens. And when Jesus sat down as our high priest in the heavens, we can all rejoice and say Revelation 1:5 Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood.

But, after Jesus sat down on the right hand of God to remove our sins, another going forth of Jesus occurred when Jesus stood up on the right hand of God to welcome Stephen home to heaven as Stephen was stoned to death. The bible says at Acts 7:54 When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth. But he (Stephen) being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing on the right hand of God. And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing (not sitting) on the right hand of God.

OK, pictured above we see yet another going forth of Jesus as God who wrestled with Jacob and blessed Jacob. Many people say an angel and not Jesus wrestled with Jacob. But take time to read the following scriptures that prove that Jesus as God wrestled and blessed Jacob. The prophet Hosea said at Hosea 12:3 He (Jacob) took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God (notice Hosea says Jacob wrestled with God who was Jesus). Yea, he had power over the angel (note now Hosea says Jacob wrestled with an angel which shows that Jesus was also a man but Jesus also is God) and prevailed; he wept and made supplication unto him; he found him in Bethel and there he spake with us. Even the Lord God of hosts; the Lord is his memorial (defined as name). Note Hosea now says again that the Lord was the name of the man Jesus who wrestled with Jacob.

Also, take time to read Genesis 32:22 which proves that Jesus as God wrestled with Jacob. Genesis 32:22 says And he (Jacob) rose up that night and took his two wives and his two womenservants, and his eleven sons and passed over the ford Jabbok. And he took them and sent them over the brook and sent over that he had. And Jacob was left alone and there wrestled a man (Jesus) with him until the breaking of day. And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh, and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. And He said, let me go for the day breaketh. And he said I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.

Genesis 32:27 goes on to say And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said Jacob. And He (Jesus) said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob but Israel; for as a prince hast thou power with God (note Jesus Himself proclaimed to Jacob that He was God) and with men and hast prevailed. And Jacob asked him and said Tell me I pray thee thy name. And He said wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And He blessed him there. And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel (defined as facing God who is Jesus) for I have seen God face to face and my life is preserved. Wow, Jacob said he saw God who was Jesus and not just an angel face to face. Jesus went forth from the Father and made a pre incarnate appearance to bless Jacob as a prince with God.

OK, for our final going forth of Jesus today, pictured above we see Jesus appearing as the I AM God that spoke to Moses from the burning bush. Jesus proclaimed that He was the I AM God and said at John 8:58 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM. Exodus 3:13 records the conversation that Moses had with Jesus as the I AM God at the burning bush and says And Moses said unto God, Behold when I come unto the children of Israel and shall say unto them, the God of your fathers hath sent me unto you and they shall say to me, What is His name? What shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses I AM THAT I AM; and He said Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

OK to end today's bible study, here's a couple of blessed stories and quotes I heard this week. A preacher went with his friend to save souls in Mexico. After they crossed the Rio Grande, the friend told the preacher that in Mexico they say Hesus and not Jesus. Then the preacher saw a restaurant in Mexico called Josies and said lets go to Josies to eat. His friend said its pronounced hosies and not josies. Then the friend asked the preacher; how long are you staying in Mexico to preach. The preacher said a couple of months. Then his friend asked when are you leaving to go back to America. The preacher said sometime in Hune or Huly. To end up this bible study be blessed and say this anointed quote. Quit telling God how big your problems are and start telling your problems how big your God is. Hope these little stories put a smile on your face. Stay tuned because more goings forth of Jesus are on the way in our next bible study.

As always, it is a blessing to write these bible studies to lift up our Lord Jesus. I pray in Jesus name they bless multitudes of people with strength and peace.
