The Unique Sin Is Fornication
Today's sermon is about the unique sin of fornication. Fornication is defined to be any type of premarital or extramarital sexual relationship with another person or beast. This includes adultery, incest, homosexuality, lesbianism, pedophilia, and beastiality. We need to be like Joseph pictured above who refused to commit adultery (a type of fornication) with Potipher's wife and flee fornication while we obey 1 Corinthians 6:18. In other words deny, run from, and totally avoid fornication.
Fornication is a unique sin because 1 Corinthians 6:18 says Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. Why would anyone want to harm their own body and fornicate? Be blessed and wait till you are married before any sexual relationships. Hebrews 13:4 says Marriage (between a man and a woman) is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
Women, the bible says that after you get saved, you are not your own. You are bought with a price (the blood of Jesus), and your body belongs to God. 1 Corinthians 6:19 says What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. Therefore it is a sin for a woman to say my body my choice and have an abortion because I have a right to do whatever I want with my body. Ladies, it's not your body. It's God's body holding a living precious little baby. Abortion (the killing of innocent babies) is premeditated murder because a baby is a life at the moment of conception.
The Lord Jesus said at Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed thee (Jeremiah) in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. When John the Baptist was a baby in Elisabeth's womb, John was a life that leaped for joy in the presence of the Lord Jesus who was a baby in Mary's womb. Luke 1:41 says And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
Homosexuality And Lesbianism Are Types Of Fornication
Two types of fornication are homosexuality (men with men) and lesbianism (women with women). The bible says if anyone commits the sin of homosexuality or lesbianism, they will suffer the vengeance of eternal fire and burn in hell and the lake of fire's torment for ever unless they repent and get saved with the Lord Jesus. Jude 7 says Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication (homosexuality where men wanted to have sex with men angels), and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire (in hell and the lake of fire where the fire burns for ever).
The bible says at Romans 1:26 that when anyone is guilty of committing the sin of fornication by homosexuality or lesbianism, they will get a reprobate mind and not be able to pray for themselves. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.
When anyone becomes a homosexual or lesbian, they risk crossing a line of no return to God and commit a sin that is exceedingly sinful. The bible says that homosexuals and lesbians have a reprobate mind and can not pray for themselves. Someone else will need to pray that any homosexual or lesbian can get saved and delivered from sin. There are many sins, but the sin of homosexuality and lesbianism is exceedingly sinful, where people risk eternal punishment from God.
And isn't it incredible that the first time the word sinner appears in a KJV bible at Genesis 13:13, it's speaking about sodomites (homosexuals and lesbians) who are wicked, rebellious, and exceedingly sinful. Homosexuality has 13 letters. And it's amazing that Genesis 13:13 has exactly 13 words in the bible verse. "But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the Lord exceedingly." The number 13 represents rebellion and sin. This proves that God speaks through numbers to reveal hidden mysteries and revelations about the bible.
Please note that I don't hate homosexuals and lesbians. I pray that they stop sinning and get saved with Jesus. I only speak out against the sin of homosexuality and lesbianism. According to Genesis 13:13 sodomy is not only sinful (it's exceedingly sinful) and must be avoided to be blessed with our Lord Jesus.
Ecclesiastes 7:17 says Be not over much wicked (don't be exceedingly sinful committing homosexuality or lesbianism), neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time? Statistics prove that homosexuals and lesbians who fornicate die before their time. The average life span of a homosexual man today is 43 years, and the average life span of a lesbian woman is 49 years. Normally men live to an average age of 78, and women live to an average age of 80. In other words without repentance and abstinence from fornication, people will die before their time, suffer the wrathful judgment of God, and burn in hell and the lake of fire tormented for ever.
I must state though that if anyone reading this is guilty of any type of fornication in their past, the Lord Jesus can forgive the sin of fornication and save you. 1 Corinthians 6:11 says And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.
There Are Many Bible Verses That Speak About
The Unique Sin Of Fornication
Deny fornication that is usually the first sin noted in most lists of sin in the bible. Many bible verses tell us to avoid fornication. 1 Thessalonians 4:3 says For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 says Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Corinthians 10:8 says Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
Please avoid fornication (any premarital or extramarital sex of any kind) because statistics say that many Americans that fornicate by the age of 25 have an STD (sexually transmitted disease like AIDS or the HIV virus and die before their time). Acts 15:20 says But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. Acts 15:29 says That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
After reading all these statistics, someone might say Brother Bob you just don't want us to have any fun fornicating. Respond by saying Why settle for fun when you can have eternal joy living for Jesus? Jesus cares about you and wants you to deny fornication, so you can live a blessed life. Instead of fornicating, get married by a minister and be blessed with children while your family worships the Lord Jesus. Genesis 28:3 says And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people.
Pictured above we see some more scriptures that warn us to avoid fornication. Colossians 3:5 says Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence (desire for what is forbidden), and covetousness, which is idolatry. Ephesians 5:3 says But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints. 2 Corinthians 7:1 says Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. James 1:21 says Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity (past sins before salvation) of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
Romans 8:8 says So then they that are in the flesh can not please God. In other words if anyone commits the sin of fornication, they can not please God. Fornication should be denied because according to Revelation 4:11 we were created for God's pleasure. This scripture says Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Instead of fornicating to please yourself, please God and others around you. Take time to say Romans 15:1. We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves (by fornicating).
How To Overcome The Sin Of Fornication
We learn from the bible that in order to overcome the sin of fornication, we must get our hearts right with God. This is because the sin of fornication proceeds out of the heart according to Mark 7:21 that says For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness (unbridled lust), an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these things come from within, and defile the man.
Proverbs 4:23 says Keep thy heart with all diligence (this is done by daily looking by faith with your heart to the Lord Jesus and the cross of Calvary); for out of it are the issues of life. When you keep your heart by looking daily to Jesus Christ crucified, you will get victory and overcome fornication and your flesh. Galatians 5:24 says And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Fill your heart daily with the Word of God. Memorize the KJV Word of God. If you hide the Word of God in your heart you will not sin and commit fornication. Psalm 119:11 says Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. And when we focus and look by faith at Jesus Christ crucified daily, the Holy Spirit that is one with the Lord Jesus comes alive and stops us from sinning. Galatians 5:16 says This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh (and avoid fornication). And when we allow the Spirit to control our lives, the fruit of temperance will occur where we will have self control to deny and avoid fornication.
The final way to avoid fornication is to get married. 1 Corinthians 7:2 says Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife (a woman; not a man), and let every woman have her own husband (a man; not a woman). Human sexuality is a beautiful gift given by God to mankind to be unwrapped after marriage on an undefiled bed and enjoyed for a lifetime.
And it's blessed to be single with the Lord Jesus who helps us avoid fornication. The Lord Jesus is all you need to be satisfied. 1 Timothy 6:6 says But godliness with contentment is great gain. Psalm 16:11 says Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence (Lord Jesus) is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. And finally the bible tells us that Jesus alone is sufficient for single people who choose not to be married. 2 Corinthians 9:8 says And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.

Not that we are sufficient of ourselves
to think anything as of ourselves
but our sufficiency is of God
If you are hungry, Jesus is the bread of life. If you are thirsty, Jesus is the water of life. If you are tired and weary, Jesus says at Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. If you are lost and can not find your way, Jesus says at John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If you are afraid of death and dying, Jesus says at John 11:25 I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? Note that this is talking about the rapture of the christians where the dead in Christ rise first followed by those that are alive and remain on the earth.
