Notice the picture above of two mountains named Gerizim (the mountain of blessing) and Ebal (the mountain of cursing). Moses named these two mountains Gerizim and Ebal to be symbols to remind the people that a blessing would occur if they obeyed God and a curse would occur if they disobeyed God. The Lord Jesus has two natures of mercy and wrath. If saints obey the Word of God, the Lord Jesus will be merciful and bless their lives. But if saints disobey the Word of God, the Lord Jesus will be a God of wrath and bring curses upon their lives.
The Lord Jesus can be angry and punish people for disobeying the Word of God because Jesus is perfect and has no sin. Ephesians 4:26 says Be ye angry, and (not but in the false Revised Standard Version) sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath. Neither give place to the devil. The KJV scripture correctly says Be ye angry, and sin not. In other words all people are sinners according to Romans 3:23 (For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God) and can not get angry, but only the Lord Jesus is perfect and has no sin according to 1 Peter 2:22 (Who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth) and can be angry.
Matthew 10:28 says And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell (in other words fear the Lord Jesus and obey the Word of God). Hebrews 10:31 says It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. If you have disobeyed the Lord Jesus and sinned in the past, get saved with Jesus and the Lord Jesus will remove your sins. 1 John 1:7 says But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin. Hebrews 10:17 says And their sins and iniquities will I (Jesus) remember no more. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel, that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.
Deuteronomy 11:26 speaks about Mount Gerizim, the mountain of blessing, and Mount Ebal, the mountain of cursing. Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day: And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known. And it shall come to pass, when the Lord thy God hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal. Choose to fear the Lord Jesus and obey the Word of God while you receive the blessing called Gerizim and avoid the curse called Ebal.
Notice the picture above of Mount Everest. When you look at Mount Everest, the Lord Jesus is not asking a great thing of you like climbing Mount Everest or running hundreds of miles to be saved. Like Naaman's servants in the bible who told Naaman to just obey the simple instruction of washing in the Jordan river for healing stated by Elisha, Brother Bob says just get saved, washed, and be clean by the blood of Jesus. It's easy to be saved and I pray in Jesus name right now anyone reading this bible study would get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.
The story about how Naaman obeyed the simple instruction to wash and be clean in the Jordan river for a healing can be found at 2 Kings 5:13. And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean. The prophet Zechariah said at Zechariah 13:1 In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.
The Lord Jesus said at Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Look at how the prophet Isaiah promised abundant mercy for sinners who return to the Lord Jesus. Isaiah 55:7 says Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon Him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.
If you think that you have sinned too much for Jesus to love you, notice the mercy that the Lord Jesus offers you if you get saved. Psalm 103:17 says But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him, and His righteousness unto children's children. The infinite mercy of Jesus will remove any sin for ever. The Lord Jesus can save the worst murderer or criminal and instantly remove all their sins for ever. Revelation 22:17 says And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. Whosoever includes the worst sinners.
Let's learn who the ransom is that Job found. Job found the ransom that delivered him from going down to the pit of hell and said about the Lord Jesus at Job 33:24 Then He (Jesus) is gracious unto him (a sinner), and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom. His flesh shall be fresher than a child's: he shall return to the days of his youth: He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.
Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal are two prominent limestone mountains in West Bank, Israel, situated on either side of the ancient city of Shechem (modern day Nablus). They are central to a biblical ceremony representing the choice between life (blessing) and death (curse). Moses commanded that upon entering the promised land, the Israelites were to perform a covenant renewal ceremony at these mountains.
The nation of Israel was split into two groups. Six tribes (Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin) stood on Mount Gerizim to represent blessings who were all descended from Jacob's primary wives, Leah and Rachel. The other six tribes (Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali) stood on Mount Ebal to represent curses who were descendants of the handmaidens, Zilpah and Bilhah except two descendants of Leah named Reuben and Zebulun (Deuteronomy 27:12-14).
Reuben was the firstborn but had forfeited his birthright due to sin (defiling his father's bed) making his placement on the mountain of curses called Ebal a warning about the consequences of unfaithfulness. Zebulun who was Leah's youngest son was moved to the Ebal side to maintain a perfect six on six balance.
The Levites who surrounded the ark of the covenant stood in the valley between Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal. The Levites played the central role in officiating the covenant renewal ceremony from the valley between Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal. The Levites read aloud a series of twelve specific curses and corresponding blessings with a loud voice. When the Levites turned to face Mount Gerizim and read a blessing, the tribes there would shout Amen. When the Levites turned to face Mount Ebal and read a curse, the tribes there would shout Amen.
The valley of Shechem between the two mountains forms a natural amphitheater, which historically allowed the Levites' voices to be heard clearly by the massive crowd on both slopes. Like the Levites, cry with a loud voice everywhere about the Lord Jesus and the Word of God. Isaiah 58:1 says Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal physically embody the spiritual messages that they convey. Mount Gerizim (the Mount of Blessing) is lush and fertile, symbolizing the life and prosperity that follow obedience to God. Mount Ebal (The Mount of Cursing) is rocky and barren, representing death and emptiness resulting from disobedience.
Notice the picture above of Mount Everest. When you look at Mount Everest, the Lord Jesus is not asking a great thing of you like climbing Mount Everest or running hundreds of miles to be saved. The apostle John told us that the fountain that takes away our sins is a fountain of Jesus' blood because Revelation 1:5 says And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood. Note also that the book of Ephesians 5:26 confirms that Jesus who is the Word of God washes away our sins because Ephesians 5:26 says That He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word. Praise the Lord Jesus for removing christians' sins with the fountain of His ever flowing precious blood that He shed at the cross of Calvary.

And sing the words below for the hymn There Is A Fountain Filled With Blood
There is a fountain filled with blood; Drawn from Immanuels' veins
And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains
The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day
And there may I though vile as he wash all my sins away
Dear dying Lamb thy precious blood shall never lose its power
Till all the ransomed ones of God be saved to sin no more
Eer since by faith I saw the stream thy flowing wounds supply
Redeeming love has been my theme and shall be till I die
When this poor lisping stammering tongue lies silent in the grave
Then in a nobler sweeter song I'll sing thy power to save
The Lord Jesus said at Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Isaiah 55:7 says Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon Him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.
Return to the Lord Jesus who not only pardons but abundantly pardons and does not impute (keep a record) of a christian's sins. Psalm 32:2 says Blessed (happy) is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. Ephesians 3:20 says Now unto Him (Jesus) that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.
If you think that you have sinned too much for Jesus to love you, notice the mercy that the Lord Jesus offers you if you get saved. Psalm 103:17 says But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him, and His righteousness unto children's children. Whosoever includes the worst sinners.
The prophet Jeremiah also told us to return to merciful Jesus at Jeremiah 3:12 that says Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the Lord; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the Lord, and I will not keep anger for ever. Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the Lord thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the Lord. Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion.
Paul said that the ransom that rescued christians from hell and the lake of fire is the Lord Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5 says For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave Himself a ransom (the redemption price of Jesus' life to buy us and free us from the slavery of sin) for all, to be testified in due time. Let's all be like Job, rejoicing and praising the Lord Jesus for being our found ransom that delivered us from the pit of hell and the lake of fire, granting us everlasting peace in the glorious kingdom of God.
