Living A Holy Life In A Sinful World

For today's bible study let us all be like the little girl pictured above looking to Jesus constantly as we live holy lives daily. This bible study will give my friends everywhere many scriptures on the importance of living holy for Jesus on this earth. First, let me state that one can only be holy when the Lord Jesus is the primary focus in a person's life for Jesus is sanctification and holiness. 1 Corinthians 1:30 tells us But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification (note Jesus is sanctification and holiness), and redemption. Friend, it is important for you to be saved now and confess Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that Jesus died for you on the cross and rose again for you can not even see God unless the Lord Jesus makes you holy by faith (the only way to God the Father is through Jesus). Hebrews 12:14 says Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord. To sum everything up, Jesus is the answer.

I encourage all my friends in the many nations to read a blessed book from the 1600's by Joseph Alleine called An Alarm To The Unconverted Sinner which inspired Brother Bob to write this bible study today. I will now write out many bible scriptures that I want you friend to meditate on discussing the blessings saints receive when they live holy lives for Jesus. Romans 2:6 says Who will render to every man according to his deeds. To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life (note when a person patiently continues in well doing and lives holy for Jesus they are rewarded with glory, honour, immortality, and eternal life). But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath. Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile.

Friends, continue to live holy for Jesus, do good deeds, and bless the poor, letting everyone see the light of Jesus in your lives. You might say what is the benefit of being holy and doing good deeds for others. Galatians 6:9 says And let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Also a crown of life is promised to all saints who daily live holy for Jesus and bless the poor. James 1:12 tells us Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him. You see on this earth, sinful men will do anything to obtain corruptible crowns that perish and fade away, but when saints live holy for Jesus, these saints will receive in the kingdom an incorruptible crown that is immortal and never decays. 1 Corinthians 9:25 tells us And every man that striveth for the mastery (defined as allowing Jesus to contend with the devil) is temperate (defined as lives holy by denying his flesh) in all things; Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible (defined as a crown that is imperishable, immortal, and never decaying).

Isn't the little boy pictured above precious as he prays, receiving a blessing from the Lord Jesus for being holy. Take time to study the following scriptures proving rewards for living a holy life for Jesus. Proverbs 1:23 says Turn you at my reproof; behold, I will pour out my Spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. Wow, if we deny our flesh when Jesus reproves sin in our lives, a pouring out of blessings from the Spirit will occur through divine revelation from the Word. Proverbs 9:6 tells us Forsake the foolish and live, and go in the way of understanding. This scripture states that holiness with Jesus is life and when we forsake and deny our foolish ways, we obtain life with Jesus.

Look at the blessed words of the prophet Isaiah encouraging us to live holy for Jesus and bless the poor at Isaiah 1:16 that says Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well, seek judgment; relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. The prophet Ezekial also stated that blessings of life occur from living a holy life with Jesus when Ezekial stated at Ezekial 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn ye, turn ye form your evil ways, for why will ye die, O house of Israel. James 4:8 says Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners, and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Titus 2:12 tells us Teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world.

You see sanctification is important because God chose us to salvation through sanctification and living holy lives daily for Jesus. 2 Thessalonians 2:13 says But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth. Look at the wonderful words of Peter that states how holiness blesses saints to have the title of being Elect where grace and peace is multiplied to them forevermore. 1 Peter 1:2 says Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ; Grace unto you, and peace be multiplied. Finally, take time to meditate on King David's statement that holiness blesses saints with the honour of ascending into the hill of the Lord as they stand in the holy place with Jesus. Psalm 24:3 proclaims Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in His holy place? He that hath clean hands and a pure heart, who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

Simply stated, living a holy life for Jesus is the will of God. 1 Thessalonians 4:3 says For this is the will of God, even your sanctification (note the apostle Paul stated that sanctification is the will of God), that ye should abstain from fornication. Friend reading this anywhere determine today now to live holy with Jesus daily and be blessed. Also 1 Peter 1:15 says But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation. Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. Finally, the Lord Jesus wants all the saints who are the glorious church to be holy and without blemish for Ephesians 5:27 says That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

OK, friend in any country reading this today, like Ruth at Ruth 1:16 pictured above say to the Lord Jesus right now Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee; for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge; thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God. Also, say the blessed words written by King Solomon to the Lord Jesus at Song of Solomon 1:4 that says Draw me, we will run after thee; the King hath brought me into His chambers; we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine; the upright love thee. Rejoice and glorify Jesus as you say along with King David Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my Rock, and fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, In whom I will trust, my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. Finally say along with the prophet Jeremiah Lamentations 3:24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in Him. The Lord is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeketh Him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.

Joseph Alleine in 1651 wrote instead of singing eat, drink and be merry, for thou hast much goods laid up for many years, saints should sing Psalm 16:5 The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup; thou maintainest my lot; The lines (defined as countries, companies, and bands) are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. The prophet Isaiah stated that these lines or countries of companies are the sons of people that persecuted saints for serving Jesus who will bow to the Jesus dwelling in the saints in the new Jerusalem. Isaiah 60:14 says The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee, The City of the Lord, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

Friends, let me share a revelation Jesus gave to Brother Bob this week on a scripture showing the marriage vows between the church and Jesus which blesses saints to be high above all nations with honour forevermore. Take time to meditate on Deuteronomy 26:17 that says Thou hast avouched (defined as promised or vowed) the Lord this day to be thy God, (note this is the vow of the bride church) and to walk in His ways, and to keep His statutes, and His commandments and His judgments, and to hearken unto His voice. And the Lord hath avouched (note this is the vow of the bridegroom our Lord Jesus) thee this day to be His peculiar people, as He hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all His commandments. And to make thee high above all nations which He hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour; and that thou mayest be an holy people unto the Lord thy God, as He hath spoken.

OK, friend reading this in any country, yield your life to Jesus and say along with the apostle Paul pictured above Lord what wilt thou have me to do? Anything Lord Jesus. Acts 9:6 stated about Paul pictured above And he trembling and astonished said, Lord what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. Joseph Alleine stated in 1651 say to the Lord Jesus, Jesus my heart is an epistle for you to set down your conditions that I'll gladly obey for 2 Corinthians 3:2 states Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men. You see friends everywhere who believe in the Lord Jesus, we shine the light of Jesus to the world to save souls. Colossians 4:5 tells us Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. 1 Thessalonians 4:12 tells us That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

Here's another revelation Jesus gave to Brother Bob this week about how saints should answer a question from Jesus at John 6:67 determining to stay always with Jesus that said Will ye also go away? Let us all answer like Peter, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. I pray in Jesus name that saints who forevermore read this bible study will understand that Jesus is the answer to everything in life proven by the following scriptures. Let us all say along with King David at Psalm 62 Truly my soul waiteth upon God, from Him cometh my salvation. He only is my Rock and my salvation, He is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

After reading all these glorious scriptures, Brother Bob must say to Jesus Psalm 34:2 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad and Psalm 119:93 I will never forget thy precepts; for with them thou hast quickened me. Lord Jesus let this prayer stated by Paul at Hebrews 13:18 be granted for all my friends everywhere that says Pray for us; for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.

To end up today's bible study, look above at an anointed picture of saints who burned their books of curious arts worth 50000 pieces of silver after they were saved through the preaching of the apostle Paul. Acts 19:19 describes the picture above and says Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men, and they counted the price of them, and found it 50000 pieces of silver. We should all be like the saints pictured above and throw away any sinful books, record albums, CD's, and material items that do not lift up Jesus from our prior sinful lives in the world before we knew Jesus. What a blessing that the saints pictured above did not collect 50000 pieces of silver for their books, realizing that the sinful books needed to be destroyed because the books could mislead and harm people.

Like the saints above who burned their sinful books, Brother Bob also threw away sinful record albums and CD's worth thousands of dollars and rejoiced to remove these sinful material objects from my house. Today, everything in Brother Bob's little apartment lifts up Jesus and all of Brother Bob's books, CD's, and material objects that he owns exalt Jesus. Brother Bob got so happy one day that he wrote the name Jesus on papers and placed the papers with the name Jesus over his bed, on the kitchen wall, on the bathroom, bedroom and outside doors for everyone to see and my apartment has been tremendously blessed by these papers with the name of Jesus.

When I look at the above picture of saints destroying their sinful books, it reminds Brother Bob of a scripture at James 1:21 that says Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity (defined as removing all the sinful things from our lives before we knew Jesus) of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. Let us all follow the advice of James 1:21 and remove all sinful objects from our past lives before we knew Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. For my final thought, let's look at how King Hezekiah also destroyed the sinful idol Nehushtan (the former brazen serpent that Moses told the people to look at for healing) because it prevented the people from worshipping the Lord Jesus. 2 Kings 18:4 says He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made, for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it; and he called it Nehushtan.
