The Many Mountains Of The Bible

Today, let's look at the many mountains of the bible. First, pictured above we see the great Mount Sinai, sublime and excellent in solitude, robed in clouds, shrouded in smoke, and illuminated with fire. At Mount Sinai God displayed His glory by earthquakes and thunders rumbling amid Sinai's crags and gorges with lightnings blazing in zigzag paths across dark clouds. Sinai was a spectacular place where the law was given to Moses. The ten commandments that Moses received at Mount Sinai were not ghostly whispers of a dead century, but commandments that remain authoritative today.

The bible speaks about Mount Sinai at Exodus 19:18 saying And Mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the Lord descended upon it in fire; and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice. And the Lord came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount; and the Lord called Moses up to the top of the mount (to receive the ten commandments) and Moses went up.

Next, pictured above we see another magnificent mountain named Ararat. The bible tells us that after the flood ended, Noah's ark rested on Mount Ararat. Genesis 8:4 says And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeeth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. I just got to share these gems about Noah. Why was Noah the first banker of the bible? Because Noah floated his stock while the whole world was in liquidation. And what did Noah say to his two sons when they were fishing on the ark? Go easy on the bait boys, we only got two worms.

OK, next we see grand old Mount Horeb where a burning bush aflame with the glory of descendant Diety defied the laws of conflagration and appeared to Moses. Exodus 3:2 says And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him (Moses) in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire; and the bush was not consumed. Instead of the bush being on fire; there was a fire in the bush.

Alright, next we see pictured above memorable Mount Hor where his spirit ready to wing its flight to realms of glory, Aaron transferred his priestly robes to his son and died. Numbers 33:38 tells us And Aaron the priest went up into Mount Hor at the commandment of the Lord and died there.

Next look at Mount Pisgah pictured above where from whose lofty height Moses saw the land which God sware unto Abraham and was denied entrance into the promised land, because he disobeyed God by smiting instead of speaking to a rock to get water for the people.  The bible speaks about Mount Pisgah at Deuteronomy 34:1 saying And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the Lord shewed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan. Deuteronomy 34:4 says And the Lord said unto him This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed; I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither.

Then God used the two mountains pictured above named Gerizim and Ebal from whose neighboring sides the blessings and curses of God were pronounced. God said at Deuteronomy 11:26 Behold I set before you this day a blessing and a curse. The blessing was upon Mount Gerizim and the curse was upon Mount Ebal.

Next pictured above is a poem about Mount Carmel where God answered Elijah's prayer with fire from heaven. 1 Kings 18:38 says Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. Usually a fireman uses water to get rid of fire, but God did a miracle at Carmel for Elijah and used fire to get rid of water.

Our eighth mountain pictured above is Mount Tabor in whose shadow and on whose slopes the stars in their courses fought with Barak and his ten thousand men to overthrow Sisera and his hosts. Judges 4:14 says And Deborah said unto Barak, Up for this is the day in which the Lord hath delivered Sisera into thine hand; is not the Lord gone out before thee? So Barak went down from Mount Tabor and ten thousand men after him. And Barak with the help of angels defeated Sisera recorded at Judges 5:20 that says They fought from heaven; the stars (angels) in their courses (ladderway that angels ascend and descend from the captain general Lord Jesus to fight battles for saints) fought against Sisera.

The ninth mountain pictured above is Mount Moriah where under the leadership of Solomon, one hundred sixty thousand men toiled seven and a half years to build the holy and beautiful temple. After the temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70AD, the Muslims built the Al Aqsa compound with the Dome of the Rock and the Mosque of Omar on Mount Moriah. The Muslims also built a mosque named Ibrahimi over the tombs of Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebekah, Leah, and Jacob at the cave of Machpelah at Mamre.

But I have news for all Muslims over this earth. When Jesus first appears in the clouds to catch up his saints, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebekah, Leah, and Jacob will rise from their graves above Ibrahmi to live forevermore with our Lord Jesus. And when Jesus returns with his saints after the tribulation on white horses to the Mount of Olives, the Mount of Olives will split, the sealed Eastern Gate will open removing the Muslim graveyard before the Eastern Gate, and Jesus with his saints will go through the Eastern Gate to rule and reign on this earth for 1000 years in the kingdom of heaven. The Dome of the Rock and the mosque of Omar will crumble and Jesus will become king of the earth for 1000 years in Jerusalem. Hallelujah, no more Dome of the Rock, mosque of Omar, or Ibrahimi when Jesus returns to this earth to be king for 1000 years. No Muslim monument or graveyard can stop a saint's blessing.

Our tenth mountain pictured above is triple peak Hermon where Jesus was transfigured, His countenance brighter than the sun; His garments whiter than snow. When Jesus was transfigured on Mount Hermon and appeared with Moses and Elijah, Peter wanted to stay on the top of Hermon by building three tabernacles for Jesus, Moses, and Elijah. But Jesus told Peter to leave the mountaintop and go to the valley to pray for a child with a dumb spirit.

Brother Bob says along with Jesus; Saints let's leave the mountaintops of this earth to witness to multitudes of lost souls in the valleys of this world. Tell everyone to get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for them, was buried, and rose again. Remember Proverbs 11:30 says The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. Luke 14:23 says And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Our eleventh mountain pictured above is the Mount of Olives displaying sweet farewell memories, where when the clouds were His chariot and the winds His steeds (horses), Jesus went back to God. Psalm 104:3 says (Jesus) Who layeth the beams of His chambers in the waters; who maketh the clouds His chariot; who walketh upon the wings of the wind.

And the angels proclaimed that the same way Jesus ascended to heaven at the Mount of Olives; Jesus will descend in the same manner upon the Mount of Olives. Acts 1:10 says And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel. Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in the like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. then returned they unto Jerusalem, from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.

The prophet Zechariah also proclaimed that Jesus will return to this earth at the Mount of Olives. Zechariah 14:3 says Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when He fought in the day of battle. And His feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

Sinai, Ararat, Horeb, Hor, Pisgah, Ebal, Gerizim, Carmel, Tabor, Moriah, Hermon, and Olivet are all great mountains but none of them is the greatest mountain. Pictured above, the greatest mountain far above and beyond all mountains like a skyscraper that is above a dugout in height, like a tree that is beyond a twig in fruit bearing, and like a cannon that is beyond a popgun in far reaching power is Mount Calvary.

Mount Calvary is the greatest mountain because this is where Jesus was crucified and got victory over the devil for all the saints of God. Friend reading this anywhere remember that at Mount Calvary Jesus shed His blood for sinners that is the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever, and defeats the devil. Revelation 12:11 proclaims that the saints overcame the devil by the blood of the Lamb (our Lord Jesus). Every day remember the greatest mountain Calvary and tell the devil I am crucified with Jesus Christ and covered by the blood of Jesus. Tell the devil daily the blood of Jesus has overcome you devil, evil must pass over me, and I'm cleansed from all my sins.

I pray in Jesus name that this bible study blesses multitudes everywhere with great joy, peace, and strength. Why Ephesians 1:3, Titus 2:13, And 2 Peter 1:1 Affirm That Jesus Is God, Why The KJV Bible Does Not Violate The Granville Sharp Rule, And Why Abraham Requested God's Mercy If Sodom Had 50 Or 10 Righteous People

God's Unique Title
The God And Father Of Our Lord Jesus Christ
According To This Title Jesus Is Lord God
And Equal To God The Father

For our first blessed saying today notice God's unique title (The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ) seen in the following bible verses. Pictured above, Ephesians 1:3 says Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. Also 2 Corinthians 1:3 says Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the the God of all comfort.Thank you Lord Jesus that God's unique title is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank God it's not the God and Father of our Lord Buddha or the God and Father of our Lord Muhammad

The bible verses above prove that Jehovah Witnesses and Muslims are wrong when they deny that Jesus is God. God's title is The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to this title Jesus is Lord God and equal to God the Father. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. You can't go to heaven until you confess that Jesus is God. Romans 10:9 says That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Modern Scholars Argue That According To The Granville Sharp Rule
The KJV Greek Translations Of Titus 2:13 And 2 Peter 1:1
Are Grammatically Flawed And Incorrect

They Falsely Claim That Modern Bible Versions Give A Clearer Statement
About The Diety Of Jesus That Satisfies The Granville Sharp Rule

This Bible Study Will Prove That
The KJV Bible Is Perfect, Infallible, And Satisfies The Granville Sharp Rule

Granville Sharp rediscovered a particularly important rule in ancient Greek grammar that is now referred to as the Granville Sharp Rule. The Granville Sharp Rule is a principle of Greek grammar used in New Testament studies to identify when two different titles refer to the same person. Formulated by the 18th century English abolitionist and scholar Granville Sharp, it is most famous for its application to verses that affirm the diety of Jesus Christ like Titus 2:13 and 2 Peter 1:1.

The Granville Sharp Rule states that when two, singular, personal, non proper nouns (common titles) are connected by the word "and" (kai in Greek) and are preceded by a single definite article ("the"), they both refer to the same person.

The Formula For The Granville Sharp Rule
Article (The) +Noun 1+(And Or Kai)+Noun 2=One Person

An example in English of the Granville Sharp Rule is "The owner and manager, Jason." Because there is only one "the", Jason is both the owner and the manager. The contrast would be "The owner and the manager." The addition of the second "the" suggests that two different people are being introduced.

For The Granville Sharp Rule to be considered grammatically absolute, modern scholars like Daniel B. Wallace emphasize that specific conditions must be met. The Granville Sharp Rule does not strictly apply to plural groups (e.g., "the apostles and prophets"). The nouns must be singular. The nouns must be personal and refer to people, not abstract things or objects. The Granville Sharp Rule applies to titles (like "God", "Saviour", or "Brother") rather than names like "Paul" or "Peter."

The Granville Sharp Rule is pivotal in translating two specific New Testament verses (Titus 2:13 and 2 Peter 1:1) to prove that Jesus is God manifest in the flesh. Titus 2:13 says Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:1 says Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.

Applying the Granville Sharp Rule, Granville Sharp and some modern scholars suggested that the KJV version of Titus 2:13 and 2 Peter 1:1 could be viewed as two separate entities ("the Great God" and "our Saviour Jesus Christ"), denying the diety of Jesus Christ. This reasoning is wrong because the KJV bible treats "the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ" as two titles for the single person, Jesus Christ, who is God manifest in the flesh.

The King James Version (KJV) does not violate the Granville Sharp Rule. The Granville Sharp Rule describes a Greek grammatical structure that the KJV translators rendered in a way that modern scholars consider ambiguous or incomplete. The KJV was translated in 1611, while Granville Sharp did not codify his rule until 1798. The KJV translators were not violating the Granville Sharp Rule because in their era the specific nuances of the Greek definite article in this construction had not been formally systematized into a rule.

In verses like Titus 2:13 and 2 Peter 1:1, the Greek text in the KJV bible uses one article for two titles ("the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ") that supports Sharp's Rule and refers to one person Jesus who is God. The KJV phrasing at Titus 2:13 is "...the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ." Scholars supporting modern translations (like the NASB or ESV) strictly follow Sharp's Rule by phrasing it "our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ," leaving no doubt that Jesus is being called God. The modern scholars claim that this creates a clearer statement about the diety of Jesus that is superior to the KJV bible and satisfies the Granville Sharp Rule.

The inclusion of our before Saviour in the KJV version of Titus 2:13 allows for an interpretation of two persons (the Father and Jesus) but it does not require it. Many KJV readers interpret it as one person Jesus who is God.  The KJV translators were not ignorant of the Granville Sharp Rule. KJV proponents often argue that the translation is a literal rendering of the Textus Receptus word order.

They suggest that the KJV uses hendiadys (two words for one idea) to express the same truth Sharp found through grammar. From this perspective the KJV is not violating the Granville Sharp Rule. It is simply using a different literary device to achieve a similar theological end. In other verses such as 2 Peter 1:11, the KJV does use a more unified phrasing ("our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ"), showing they understood the underlying grammar that Granville Sharp clarified years later.

Theodore Beza, the 16th century Reformer and Greek scholar, explicitly recognized the conjunctive (connective) reading of Titus 2:13 long before Granville Sharp formalized his rule. Beza's 1598 Greek New Testament that was a primary source for the KJV translators, included notes and commentary supporting the view that "the great God" and "our Saviour" both refer to Jesus Christ who is God.

Beza's notes on this passage emphasize the unity of the person described. Beza stated in his commentary that Paul calls Jesus great and God, specifically to refute heretical blasphemy that denied Jesus' divinity. Beza noted that the single definite article "the" preceding "great God" extends to "Saviour", linking them to the same referent who is the Lord Jesus.  Beza and later scholars pointed out that the word "appearing" (epiphaneia) in the New Testament is consistently used for Jesus, not the Father, further proving that Jesus is the subject of the entire phrase at Titus 2:13.

For our next blessed saying notice that pictured above the Lord Jesus was one of the three men that appeared as God to Abraham with two angels. Genesis 18:1 says And the Lord (Jesus) appeared unto him (Abraham) in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men (notice that the Lord Jesus appeared to Abraham as a man; Jesus was 100% man, 100% the Son of God, and 100% God) stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground (Abraham worshipped the God man Jesus).

Now notice that the Lord Jesus told Abraham at Genesis 18:20 Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. Abraham prayed and asked the Lord Jesus to spare Sodom and Gomorrah for 50, 45, 40, 30, 20, and finally 10 righteous people.

Why Abraham Requested God's Mercy If Sodom And Gomorrah
Had 50,45, 40, 30, 20 And Finally 10 Righteous People

Abraham told the Lord Jesus at Genesis 18:23 Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee; Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? And the Lord said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes. And Abraham answered and said , Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes: Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it.

And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty's sake. And he said unto him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there. And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty's sake. And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake. And the Lord went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham, and Abraham returned unto his place.

Abraham's countdown with prayer requests to spare Sodom and Gomorrah with 50, 45, 40, 30, 20, and finally 10 righteous people was more than just a negotiation. It was a lesson in intercession that revealed the Lord Jesus' character. 50 represented a significant holy minority that was able to save a whole city. By agreeing to 10, the Lord Jesus demonstrated that he is not looking for a majority to justify mercy. He is willing to spare a massive wicked population for the sake of a tiny righteous few.  James 5:16 says Confess your faults one to another; and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

The significance of the range (50,45,40,30,20,10) shows a progression in persistent human boldness by prayer. Abraham starts with a safe number (50) and gradually tests the limits of God's grace. This teaches us that God invites dialogue. The Lord Jesus didn't get angry at Abraham's haggling; God answered every request, showing that intercessory prayer can actually move the hand of God.

According to Jewish tradition, 10 or a minyan is the threshold for a community. If a city has 10 righteous people, it has a moral core that can be redeemed. Below 10, the city is considered spiritually dead. When the count hit 10, and 10 righteous people were not found in Sodom, it proved that Sodom's corruption was total. The focus shifted from sparing the city to extracting the few who were left.

Abraham's failed prayer requests for Sodom and Gomorrah was a foreshadowing of a greater intercessor named Jesus whose prayer requests never fail. Abraham's failed intercession pointed to a perfect intercession by the Lord Jesus. Abraham stopped at 10, and the city of Sodom and Gomorrah fell. Abraham's failed intercession points to the Lord Jesus, the one righteous man whose merit is enough to save not just a city, but the world. Where Abraham reached a limit at 10, God's grace with the Lord Jesus reaches all the way down to one.

Jeremiah 5:1 says Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it. There is one perfect man named Jesus who God found who can save and pardon the worst sinner. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

The Lord Jesus will save you, pardon you, and wash away your sins with his precious blood that he shed at the cross of Calvary. Hebrews 7:25 says Wherefore he (Jesus) is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Now note that Genesis 18:33 says that only the Lord Jesus left Abraham after their talk and went His way (a different way from the two angels) saying And the Lord (Jesus) went His way, as soon as He had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place. Next we see that only the two angels went to Sodom (proving that the three men were two angels and the God man Jesus). Genesis 19:1 says And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground (note that Lot called these two angels lords and not Lord at Genesis 19:2 because the angels were not God).

Genesis 19:2 says And he (Lot) said, Behold, now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.

When Jesus Returns In The Clouds
And The Saints Are Caught Up To Meet Him It Will Be

The Watchman's Look For Day
The Husbandman's Harvest Day
The Builder's Completion Day

The Master's Reckoning Day
The Servant's Pay Day
The King's Coronation Day
The Bride's Wedding Day

He Which Testifieth These Things Saith,
Surely I Come Quickly. Amen.
Even So, Come, Lord Jesus

Worry Is Like A Rocking Chair
It'll Give You Something To Do
But It Won't Get You Anywhere

The bible tells us the cure to heal worrying at Philippians 4:6 that says Be careful for nothing (don't worry); but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Psalm 107 also tells us in many verses how to heal worry and overcome distress. Cry to the Lord Jesus when you're in trouble and Jesus will bring you out of all your worries, troubles, and distresses.

Psalm 107:5 says Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses. If you're tired from this troubled world, cry unto the Lord Jesus, and Jesus will deliver you out of all your distresses.

Psalm 107:12 says Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help. Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. If you are reading this and there is no one to help you, cry unto the the Lord Jesus, and Jesus will deliver you out of all your distresses.

Psalm 107:18 goes on to say Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat (they were too stressed to eat); and they draw near unto the gates of death. Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and He saveth them out of their distresses. If you are so distressed that you can't eat and feel like you are dying, cry unto the Lord Jesus right now, and Jesus will save you out of all your distresses.

Psalm 107:27 says They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's ends. Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and He bringeth them out of their distresses. If this world is driving you crazy and you are at your wit's end, cry unto the Lord Jesus, and Jesus will bring you out of all your distresses.

Don't Worry And Choose To Say
Good Morning Lord

Instead Of Saying
Good Lord It's Morning

Have Faith Like Harry Colcord And Charles Blondin; How James Bartley Survived Like Jonah For Three Days In A Whale's Belly; And How Simeon, John The Baptist, And A Thief Are Up Not Down In Paradise Third Heaven

Have Faith Like Harry Colcord And Charles Blondin

Pictured above for our first parable about faith, we see a tightrope walker from the 1800s named Charles Blondin. Charles Blondin (born Jean Francois Gravelet) was a legendary 19th century French tightrope walker who became world famous for crossing the Niagara gorge on a high wire. Starting on June 3, 1859, he performed a series of increasingly daring ascensions that drew crowds of up to 25,000 spectators to the banks of the Niagara River.

Charles Blondin was a master showman who understood that simply walking across the gorge would eventually lose its novelty. He completed an estimated 300 crossings, often adding theatrical stunts. He famously carried a small stove and utensils on his back, stopping midway on the rope, cooked an omelet, and lowered it to passengers on the Maid of the Mist tour boat below. He crossed while blindfolded, in a sack, on stilts, backwards, and even while pushing a wheelbarrow. He occasionally crossed at night, illuminated by lights on the cable or fireworks.

When Charles Blondin was about to walk over the Niagara Falls, he asked his manager Harry Colcord, Do you believe I can make it? Harry replied, You can do it Charlie. You can do anything. Charles then said, Harry are you sure I can make it? Harry replied You can do it, you can do it Charlie. Charles replied Hop on my back. And Harry had faith and pictured above hopped on Charles' back and they both crossed successfully over the Niagara Falls on a high wire.

Let's all be like Harry Colcord and hop on Jesus' back by faith and trust the Lord Jesus to get us across the great divide of this life to fulfill our dreams. Just hold on to Jesus and don't let go and everything will be alright. 2 Thessalonians 3:16 says Now the Lord of peace Himself (Jesus) give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. Daily look to the cross saying I am crucified with Jesus Christ and covered by the blood of Jesus. Let the devil know that the blood of Jesus has overcome the devil, evil must pass over me, and all my sins are all cleansed by the blood of Jesus.

Faith Sees The Invisible
Believes The Incredible
Receives The Impossible

Faith Is Not Believing That God Can
Faith Is Believing That God Will

A Little Faith Will Bring Your Soul To Heaven
But Great Faith Will Bring Heaven To Your Soul

Why Calvinism Is A False Teaching

The false teaching of Calvinism says that only certain elect sinners can get saved and be predestinated to live forever in heaven. This is wrong because 1 Timothy 2:3 says For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all (not just elect) men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Hebrews 2:9 says But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man (not just a few elect men). Revelation 22:17 says And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever (not just elect people) will, let him take the water of life freely.

Jesus said at Mark 1:17 Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. Pictured above, let's see why Calvinism is wrong when the father and son learn about Jesus while they fish on their boat. When I go fishing like this father and son, I don't just fish for elect fish. I fish for anything that bites. And if I happen to catch a fish and get him into the live well secure, then that fish is elect and he's predestinated because I know where he is going because he's become my property.

The same thing happens when we witness and fish for lost souls with Jesus as our bait. There is no such thing as an elect or predestinated sinner. Salvation is offered to anyone who accepts the Lord Jesus. Jesus said at John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. And after a person gets saved and receives the Lord Jesus, then he or she becomes an elect or predestinated saint that is saved.

Any person that believes in Calvinism is confused about the meanings of election and predestination. Election and predestination are security doctrines for saved saints only. There is no such thing as an elect or predestinated sinner according to Calvinism. All men are sinners and must accept the Lord Jesus to become elect, saved, and predestinated saints that go to heaven. When people ask Brother Bob if he is a Calvinist, I reply, No I'm a Christian and I can't be both.

Brother Bob's Answers To Some Foolish Questions

1) A Jehovah Witness told Brother Bob that they didn't believe Jesus is God after I showed them Romans 14:9 that says For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that He might be Lord both of the dead and living. The Jehovah Witness said Brother Bob I just can't get that out of the new testament. I replied, Of course you can't, It's in there to stay.
2) Then someone asked me Do you believe that a whale swallowed Jonah? I replied, I believe the bible is true and that God prepared a fish big enough to swallow this runaway preacher. If God can make a preacher, then God can make a fish big enough to swallow him.
3) Then someone asked me Where is there an oyster big enough to make the pearls for the gates of heaven? I replied that he lives next door to the great fish that God prepared to swallow Jonah.

How James Bartley Survived Like Jonah In A Whale's Belly
In 1891 James Bartley Like Jonah Lived
After Being Swallowed By A Whale

In February 1891, James Bartley (1870-1909), a sailor, was whale hunting on a British whaling ship called The Star of the East near the Falkland islands and a sperm whale got the best of him and swallowed him up. Days later after his friends killed the whale, while they were skinning the whale, they noticed that the linings in the intestines of the whale were moving. When they opened up the intestines of the whale, out came James Bartley alive after 36 hours. Initially Bartley was delirious but eventually recovered..

Bartley said that after he realized that he was inside the whale's stomach, he noticed that he could breathe and live. This proves that the bible is true and that Jonah could survive after being in the belly of a whale for three days and three nights. Friends just believe everything in the bible even when it doesn't make any sense. Be like little children and accept the bible to be true. The bible is our road map and if we follow its directions our lives will be blessed. Yes our Lord Jesus can create a whale large enough to swallow Jonah and deliver Jonah safely to Nineveh to preach repentance to save 120000 lost sinners.

Many historians and scientists said that the story about James Bartley was a fabrication and a hoax, claiming that the bible and the story about Jonah surviving after three days in a whale's belly was a myth. When anyone tells you that the bible is a myth, tell them that they are mythstaken, mythstified, mytherable, and mythinformed. The bible is the truth and Jonah and James Bartley survived after being in a whale's belly for three days and nights.

     M. de Parville, the science editor of the Journal des Debats in Paris, France reportedly investigated the 1891 incident and concluded that the account of James Bartley being found alive in a whale's stomach was verified. Specific physical details were cited as proof of the encounter. Harry Rimmer, a prominent 20th century evangelist frequently used the Bartley story in his lectures and books to prove that a man could survive inside a whale. Dr. Ambrose John Wilson became famous for his 1927 article "The Sign of the Prophet Jonah and its Modern Confirmations", published in the Princeton Theological Review, citing Bartley's case as a modern confirmation of the biblical story of Jonah and the whale.

Many accounts claim that James Bartley's face and hands were permanently bleached white by the whale's gastric juices, a condition he carried until his death 18 years later. Newspaper reports in the 1890s presented the story as a factual account provided by the crew of the Star of the East, who allegedly signed a report documenting the event. James Bartley's tombstone in Gloucester, England, reportedly bore the inscription "A Modern Jonah," serving as a permanent memorial to the event.

Several scientists concluded that a person could survive after being swallowed by a sperm whale. Unlike baleen whales that have tiny throats, sperm whales can swallow a giant squid whole, leading some to argue that they could also swallow a human man. For over a century many christians have used the James Bartley story as a real world parallel to defend the truth about the biblical story of Jonah who survived and preached to Nineveh after being in a whale's belly for three days and nights. If James Bartley survived after three days and nights in a sperm whale's belly, it could certainly have happened to Jonah in biblical antiquity.

Also note that in 1771, Marshall Jenkins reportedly survived being taken into the mouth of a sperm whale during a whaling expedition off the coast of Edgartown, Massachusetts. According to historical accounts from the Boston Post Boy, Jenkins was part of a crew that struck a whale with a harpoon. The whale retaliated by biting their whaleboat in two. As the boat was destroyed, the whale caught Jenkins in it's mouth and dove underwater with him. After a brief period submerged, the whale returned to the surface and cast Jenkins onto the wreckage of the broken boat. Despite the ordeal, Jenkins was reportedly much bruised but not seriously injured.

How Simeon, John The Baptist, And A Thief Are Up Not Down
In Paradise Third Heaven

Before Jesus walked on earth, old testament saints in paradise looked forward in time for the Lord Jesus to appear and take them up to heaven. When these saints passed away, they went to Abraham's bosom called paradise in the lower parts of this earth, waiting for their Messiah Jesus to set them free. Now we are saints looking back in time at Jesus who died for us on the cross, waiting for Jesus to appear in the air, while we get caught up to live forever in peace with our Lord Jesus.

When the old testament saints waited in paradise for the Lord Jesus, Simeon appeared and told these saints Jesus is coming soon to paradise to set us free. I saw baby Jesus and said at Luke 2:29 Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation.

Then the woman who was caught in the act of adultery appeared to these saints in paradise. She said Jesus is coming soon to paradise to set us free. I saw Jesus who told my accusers that wanted to stone me at John 8:7 He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And after all my accusers departed, Jesus told me Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? I replied No man, Lord. And Jesus said Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

Then John the Baptist appeared to these saints in paradise. He told them Jesus is coming very soon to paradise to set us free. After I saw Jesus and baptized Him in the Jordan river, I proclaimed at John 1:29 Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

And the last saint to appear in paradise was the thief that died on a cross by Jesus. He told the saints in paradise Jesus is coming today to paradise to set us free. After I asked Jesus at Luke 23:42 Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom, Jesus told me Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

The thief on the cross by Jesus proved that confessing that Jesus is God is essential for salvation. The thief said to the Lord Jesus at Luke 23:42 Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. Notice that the translated NIV and NASB bibles misquote Luke 23:42 denying that Jesus is Lord where the thief only says Jesus (omitting the word Lord) remember me when you come into your kingdom. These translated bibles remove references that proclaim that Jesus is God to stop people from getting saved. Remember 2 Corinthians 11:14 warns us And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light (using false religions and false translated bibles denying the diety of Jesus to stop people from getting saved).

Ephesians 4:8 tells us that Jesus ascended up on high (with the old testament saints of paradise) and He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. Paradise is no longer in the lower parts of the earth where people in hell like the rich man Dives could see Abraham's bosom and paradise across a fixed unpassable gulf. Now paradise is up in the third heaven with Jesus and free for ever. Paul confirmed this and said at 2 Corinthians 12:2 that he was caught up (not caught down) into third heaven paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

Ephesians 4:8 says Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things. 2 Corinthians 12:2 says I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth; such an one caught up to the third heaven. And I knew such a man (Paul), whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth; How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

Jesus told the devil that the saints of paradise were no longer in the lower parts of the earth. Jesus told the devil that all saints live for ever with Him in mansions in paradise now located up in the third heaven. Jesus stripped the devil of all his power and told the devil at Revelation 1:18 I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. The devil doesn't even have the keys to his own home in hell. Soon the devil will be cast into the sealed bottomless pit with a great chain for one thousand years during the millennium and then cast into the lake of fire forever.

Preach about John 3:16 on Valentine's Day
John 3:16 is the Valentine's Day Card Jesus Sent To Lost Sinners
Saying He loved us so much that He died for us all on the cross of Calvary

5) The Son Jesus is the center word in John 3:16
12 words are before Son and 12 words are after Son

Take a look at the picture above and notice that an anchor holds the ship so that the stormy winds don't move it. The bible declares that Jesus is the anchor of our souls. An anchor does not take you forward. An anchor keeps you from going backward when the winds blowing. Hebrews 6:18 says that Jesus who is our blessed hope is our anchor that keeps us from being moved by the storms of this life. This scripture says That by two immutable (unchanging) things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest forever after the order of Melchisedec.

Get anchored in Jesus today and overcome the troubles of this world. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. Daily say I am crucified with Jesus Christ and covered by the blood of Jesus. Tell the devil that the blood of Jesus has overcome him, evil must pass over me, and the blood of Jesus has cleansed me of all my sins.

If a person is not anchored in Jesus, when the pressures of this life surround him, he will be carried away with the winds of the many false doctrines and beliefs of this world. Get saved and anchored in Jesus and take heed to the warning stated at Ephesians 4:13 that says Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.

Take a look at the quote pictured above and notice that when we compare Jesus to philosophers like Socrates, Aristotle, Plato, Sophocles, and Aristophanes, the teachings of Jesus and the Word of God stand above any philosopher's teaching. The admission to heaven is faith in Jesus Christ. He is the only way. There is no other philosophy, no religion, no other way.

Colossians 2:20 says Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ form the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances (ineffective yoga and philosophical teachings), Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with the using; after the commandments and doctrines of men? Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honor to the satisfying of the flesh. Galatians 2:21 says I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Why Jesus And The Word Of God Is Greater
Than The Teachings Of Philosophers

Philosophy is speculation; Jesus' Word is revelation
Philosophy is inquiry; Jesus' Word is declaration
Philosophy is surmise; Jesus' Word is sanctity
Philosophy is groping; Jesus' Word is guidance.
Philosophy is man's little teacup mind;
Jesus' Word is God's oceanic mind

When someone says Jesus' Word is a big myth
Say you're mythstaken, mythstified, mythinformed, and mytherable

Praise Jesus Who Was Born From A Virgin's Womb And Rose From An Empty Tomb; Why Did Jesus Fold The Napkin Before He Left The Empty Tomb; Why The Shroud Of Turin And The Sudarium Of Oviedo Are Fakes; Blessed Sayings About Jesus And The Two Thieves; What Jesus Left In Heaven When He Died On The Cross; And What Man And God Call Sin

Jesus Was Born From A Virgin's Womb And Rose From An Empty Tomb
A Sealed Womb Couldn't Keep Him Out; A Sealed Tomb Couldn't Keep Him In
Jesus Was Born From A Borrowed Womb And Rose From A Borrowed Tomb

Isaiah 66:9 speaks about the sealed womb saying Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the Lord: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God. Matthew 27:66 speaks about the sealed tomb saying So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch. Matthew 28:2 says And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

Let's see what happened when Jesus rose from the dead and left His tomb. To understand how Jesus rose and moved out of a sealed tomb read John 20:19 that says Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

Note that Jesus was able to move through doors and walls and appear to his disciples. Therefore Jesus was able to move out of a sealed tomb in a glorified body before the angels rolled away the stone blocking the entrance to the tomb.

Pictured above I believe the Father walked into Jesus' tomb without breaking the seal and said "Son, you've done everything I told you to do. Fold up the napkin and put it in a place by itself. Leave those old linen grave clothes and put on these new clothes. And let's get out of here." And the Father and Jesus who are one went out of that tomb without breaking the seal down to paradise into the lower parts of the earth to set the old testament saints free and take them up to the paradise third heaven.

Nothing could stop the Lord Jesus from rising from the dead and leaving the sealed tomb. This is because the Lord Jesus proved later that he could go into the upper room, the doors being shut, and appear to His disciples in a glorified body saying Peace be unto you. John 20:26 says And after eight days again His disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.

And the angel that came down from heaven and rolled the stone away from the door of the tomb didn't roll it away to let Jesus out but to let the people in to see that Jesus was not there. Jesus had risen from the dead. There was no trace of Jesus' earthly body in the tomb. No bone fragments, no pieces of hair, nothing but dirt remained in Jesus' tomb. The angel of the Lord proclaimed the truth at Matthew 28:6. He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.  And no one stole Jesus' body from the tomb. This is because Jesus neatly folded up the napkin before he left the tomb, and a thief wouldn't take the time to neatly fold a napkin if he stole Jesus' body from the tomb.

Why Did Jesus Neatly Fold The Napkin That Was About His Head
And Place It By Itself When He Left His Empty Tomb During His Resurrection

Finally let's learn why Jesus wrapped the napkin that was about His head and put it in a place by itself in the empty tomb. When Simon Peter went into Jesus' empty tomb John 20:6 says Then cometh Simon Peter following him (John), and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie, And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. Jesus neatly wrapped this napkin to prove that His earthly body was not stolen from the tomb. After Jesus rose from the dead, soldiers were paid large sums of money to lie and say that His disciples came by night and stole His earthly body while the soldiers slept.

Matthew 28:12 says And when they were assembled with the elders (soldiers and chief priests), and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers, Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole Him away while we slept. And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you. So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

What would a thief do if he stole Jesus' body from the tomb? If a thief stole the earthly body of Jesus from the tomb, that thief would quickly throw Jesus' unwrapped napkin on top of Jesus' linen clothes. Jesus knew that people would lie and say His earthly body was stolen from the tomb. This is why Jesus wrapped the napkin neatly in a place by itself to prove that no thief stole his body. A thief wouldn't take time to neatly wrap the napkin. Jesus' tomb was sealed by a stone and guarded by soldiers and it was not possible for a thief to enter into Jesus' tomb and steal his earthly body.

Finally let's learn about what the neatly wrapped napkin left by a master during a meal pictured above meant to his servant according to Hebrew tradition. When a servant set the dinner table for his master, the table was furnished perfectly, and then the servant would wait, just out of sight, until his master had finished eating, and the servant would not dare touch that table until the master was finished.

When the master was finished eating, the master would wad up his napkin and toss it onto the table. The servant would then know to clear the table. The wadded napkin meant I'm done. But if the master got up from the table and neatly wrapped his napkin and laid it beside his plate, the servant would not dare touch the table, because the neatly wrapped napkin meant I'm not finished. I'm coming back. Jesus neatly wrapped the napkin in His tomb to let us all know that He's coming back to be the King of this earth for 1000 glorious years during the millennium and in the kingdom of God forever. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

Jesus also told His saints with the neatly wrapped napkin that I'm not finished and I'm coming back for the marriage supper of the Lamb prepared for all my saints. Revelation 19:7 says Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him (Jesus): for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife (the church and all the saved saints) hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And He saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called (invited) unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And He saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

Why The Catholic Shroud Of Turin Is A Fake
And Listen To Peter Ruckman Explain Why The Shroud Of Turin Is A Fake

The Shroud of Turin is a 14 foot long linen cloth that bears a faint sepia (warm reddish brown colored), image of a man who appears to have suffered physical trauma consistent with crucifixion. It is kept in the Catholic Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist in Turin, Italy and is revered by many as the burial cloth of Jesus.

The Shroud of Turin is a fake. Biblical contradictions challenge the Shroud of Turin's authenticity. John 20:6 describes multiple cloths, including a separate face cloth (called the Sudarium of Oviedo or soudarion), which contradicts the Shroud of Turin's single long sheet covering both the front and back of Jesus. John 20:4 says So they ran both together: and the other disciple (John) did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre. And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in. Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie, And the napkin (soudarion), that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.

The gospel of John mentions two distinct pieces of plural linen clothes and a napkin (soudarion), suggesting several strips of linen or bandages used to wrap Jesus' body, rather than a single large sheet called the Shroud of Turin. John 20:7 explicitly states that the cloth covering Jesus' head called the soudarion was not with the other linens, but was wrapped together in a place by itself. The Catholic Shroud of Turin is a fake.

If Jesus was buried as John describes, his head would have been wrapped in a separate, smaller cloth. John's description aligns more closely with contemporary Jewish burial customs during the time of Jesus' burial (using multiple linen strips and a separate head covering), rather than a single long shroud. The biblical account in John is an accurate eyewitness report by Peter, proving that the single sheet Shroud of Turin can not be the same fabric found in Jesus' tomb.

Two Medieval Documents Proving That The Shroud Of Turin Is A Fake Forgery
1) The d'Arcis Memorandum of 1389
2) The Oresme Treatise of 1370

The most famous medieval document questioning the Shroud of Turin is the d'Arcis memorandum of 1389. It was a memorandum written by Catholic Bishop Pierre d'Arcis of Troyes to the Avignon, France Antipope Clement VII. Avignon Antipopes claimed to be Popes in France but were not recognized by the Roman Catholic church to be legitimate. Eventually when there were three people claiming to be the Pope from France and Italy, the Council of Constance in 1414 proclaimed a single new Pope (Martin V) that was elected to reunite the Catholic church in Rome, Italy at the Vatican.

The d'Arcis memorandum stated that the Shroud of Turin was a cleverly painted forgery and was not miraculously wrought or bestowed. d' Arcis claimed that his predecessor, Bishop Henri de Poitiers, had conducted an investigation 34 years earlier, (around 1355), and had actually found the artist who confessed to painting the Shroud of Turin as a forgery. d'Arcis accused the local church in Lirey, France of displaying the Shroud of Turin purely for financial gain, using faked miracles to attract pilgrims and their money. Following this protest, Antipope Clement VII allowed the Shroud of Turin to remain on display but ordered that it be called a figure or representation of the Shroud of Jesus, rather than the actual relic.

Bishop Nicole Oresme (a prominent 14th century scholar) wrote the oldest known rejection of the Shroud of Turin in 1370. Contained in Oresme's work titled Problemata, Oresme explicitly dismissed the Shroud of Turin as a clear and patent fake. In Problemata, Oresme explicitly names a church in the village of Champagne (located in the region of Lirey, France) as a place where a Shroud of the Lord was being used to deceive the public. Oresme writes that he does not need to believe in miracles because many clergymen thus deceive others in order to elicit offerings for their churches, specifically citing the case in Champagne as a patent (obvious) example. Oresme argued that the Shroud of Turin was not a relic but a tool for financial exploitation, created to extort gold from pilgrims.

Because Oresme was a highly respected bishop and royal advisor in Normandy and Paris, France, his writing shows that the Shroud of Turin's reputation as a forgery was already established widespread news in intellectual circles by the 1370s. Oresme's claims perfectly match the earlier 1355 investigation by Bishop Henri de Poitiers, who reportedly found the artist who painted the Shroud of Turin as a forgery.

In summary, the Oresme treatise doesn't just say that the Shroud of Turin is a fake; it provides a contemporary case study of medieval critical thinking, showing that the 14th century Catholic church's own leading intellectuals viewed the Shroud of Turin as a manufactured painting designed for profit. The Shroud of Turin is a fake forgery.

Why The Catholic Sudarium Of Oviedo Is A Fake

The Sudarium of Oviedo is a centuries old linen cloth measuring approximately 33 inches by 21 inches, traditionally believed to be the face cloth (or sweat cloth) used to cover the head of Jesus Christ after his crucifixion. Unlike the Shroud of Turin, this cloth does not contain a photographic image of a face; instead it is covered in dark brown blood stains and other physiological fluids.

The Sudarium was wrapped around Jesus' head and found folded separately from the burial linens in the empty tomb. In 570 AD, the Catholic pilgrim Antoninus of Piacenza claimed to have found the Sudarium and placed it in a monastery near Jerusalem. Eventually the Sudarium was transferred to Oviedo, Spain. In 840 AD, King Alfonso II built the Camera Santa (Holy Chamber) at the Cathedral of San Salvador in Oviedo, Spain that currently houses the Sudarium.

The Sudarium of Oviedo is a fake for the following reasons. Much of the Sudarium's documented history relies on false historical accounts from Pelagius of Oviedo, a 12th century Catholic Bishop who has been criticized by historians as "The Prince of Falsifiers" due to the volume of forgeries produced under his office. Critics argue that Pelagius' narrative of the Sudarium's journey from Jerusalem to Spain was fabricated to enhance the prestige of his cathedral.

Skeptics also point out that the Sudarium and the Shroud of Turin are physically incompatible. If both cloths were used as described (the Shroud of Turin underneath the Sudarium napkin), the Shroud of Turin could not have a clear facial image (because the Sudarium would have blocked the contact), or the Sudarium could not have such heavy bloodstains without evidence of bleeding through the Shroud of Turin. Therefore the Sudarium of Oviedo is simply one of many pious Catholic forgeries created during the Middle Ages to satisfy the era's demand for holy relics.

Why Catholic Relics And Rituals Like Put The Wafer On Your Tongue
Drink The Wine And Get A Piece Of The Cross Are Fake

Catholic leaders are carnal materialists that want to touch and see holy objects like the Shroud of Turin and the Sudarium of Oviedo to get blessed. They want to find a backdoor to get into heaven. Instead of worshipping material objects, we need to worship the true door who is the Lord Jesus and get saved by faith. Jesus said at John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. Hebrews 11:6 says But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him.

The Catholic rituals of worshipping earthly relics instead of the Lord Jesus is like Santa Claus coming down the chimney like a thief instead of coming through the door. Jesus said at John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

Catholic leaders claim that they have the keys of the kingdom of heaven from Saint Peter. Tell these Catholic leaders, I don't need the keys, I've got the door who is the Lord Jesus for salvation forever in the kingdom of God. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

Even if the Shroud of Turin and the Sudarium of Oviedo were real, it wouldn't matter. Even if the wafer and wine used during the unholy Catholic Eucharist Transubstantiation communion were real, it's wrong to recrucify Jesus Christ. Jesus only had to die once on the cross of Calvary. Catholic leaders believe that the wafer and wine of the unholy Eucharist communion are the actual body and blood of Jesus Christ and recrucify Jesus.

Hebrews 10:10 says By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once (not many times) for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices (performed in an unholy Catholic Eucharist Mass), which can never take away sins: But this man (Jesus), after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till His enemies be made His footstool. For by one offering He hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Communion is a blessed ceremony that should be done in remembrance of the Lord Jesus.  Instead of focusing on earthly material objects, christians need to focus on worshipping the Lord Jesus by faith.

During the Middle Ages, the Catholic church leaders participated in a highly lucrative black market of fraudulent relics. Local Catholic churches and monasteries acquired fraudulent religious relics to become famous pilgrimage destinations. Thousands of travelers would visit these Catholic cathedrals, paying to view the fraudulent relics. They left behind massive amounts of money in donation boxes.

Learn About Catholic Frederick The Wise Who Owned 18000 Fraudulent Relics

Popes and bishops would grant special indulgences (money paid to get a deceased loved one out of purgatory and have a special Mass prayer service) to anyone who visited a specific church's relic collection and made a financial offering. Rich nobles and church leaders would amass massive collections of these fake relics. For example, Frederick the Wise, (the protector of Martin Luther) owned over 18,000 relics, and calculated that anyone who viewed them all and paid the appropriate fees would shave 1.9 million years off their time in purgatory.

Frederick the Wise was the ultimate relic hoard. He turned his principal church, The All Saints Castle Church in Wittenberg, into a massive spiritual treasury of 18,000 relics. He acquired these items through financial investments, aggresive networking with other rulers, and a personal pilgrimage to the Holy Land in 1493.

Frederick the Wise's relic collection included a twig from Moses' burning bush, straw and hay from the holy manger, pieces of Jesus' swaddling clothes, a vase containing the breast milk of the Virgin Mary, and multiple fragments of the cross of Calvary. According to the Roman Catholic doctrine of the time, viewing and praying over these relics granted papal indulgences.

Frederick's obsession with relics set the stage for one of the greatest ironies in religious history. In 1517, Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the door of Frederick's Castle church, directly attacking the sale of indulgences and the theology behind relic veneration. Luther's attacks directly threatened Frederick's financial investment and tourist attraction. Despite the threat to his wallet and his personal Catholic piety, Frederick chose to protect Luther from the Pope, allowing the Protestant Reformation to survive. As Luther's teachings took hold of Saxony, public interest in relics vanished. Eventually Frederick quietly sold off or dispersed his relic collection.

Professional relic traffickers (like a famous 9th century Roman deacon named Deusdona) would raid Roman catacombs, dig up random anonymous skeletons, and sell them to wealthy northern European Catholic churches as named biblical saints. Famous examples of fraudulent relics are the head of John the Baptist, the actual pieces of the cross of Calvary, and a vase containing Mary's milk.

Multiple churches claimed to own the head of John the Baptist. The Amiens Cathedral in Amiens, France claimed to hold the actual skull of John the Baptist, brought back by the Crusaders in 1206. The Church of San Silvestro in Rome, Italy also claimed to house a smaller version of John the Baptist's skull.

A traveler on a pilgrimage through Europe visiting the Amien's Cathedral in France was told by a tour guide that showed him a glass case with John's skull, "This was the actual head of John the Baptist." The confused traveler replied, "But I was just at the Church of San Silvestro in Rome, Italy and they also showed me the head of John the Baptist." The tour guide replied, "That was John the Baptist's head when he was a little boy. This is the head of John the Baptist when he was an adult." This story proves that Catholic relics like the Shroud of Turin and the Sudarium of Oviedo are fake.

Owning a piece of the cross that Jesus died on was a guaranteed way for a medieval Catholic church or monastery to become wealthy. Thousands of religious pilgrims would travel to see the wood, paying viewing fees and making large financial donations. To cash in on this religious tourism, unscrupulous merchants would cut up random, local European lumber planks and give them to Catholic churches as ancient wood from Jerusalem. There were enough pieces of the cross of Calvary across European Catholic cathedrals to build a large palace and a naval fleet.

During the Middle Ages, dozens of Catholic churches across Europe claimed to own vases filled with a white, chalky substance said to be the literal breast milk of the Virgin Mary. Critics frequently ridiculed this, pointing out that it was actually just powdered limestone or chalk mixed with water.

Why King Philip IV Of France Arrested Pope Boniface Of Rome, Italy
Learn About The Fake Vase Of Mary's Milk That Was Smashed During The Arrest

In 1303, King Philip IV (Philip the Fair) of France was in a bitter, explosive feud with Pope Boniface VIII over whether kings had to obey the Pope and if the king could tax the Catholic clergy. Pope Boniface issued a decree asserting absolute papal supremacy over all royalty and prepared to excommunicate King Philip IV. Philip didn't back down. He sent his ruthless minister, Guillaume de Nogaret, with an army to track down the Pope at his vacation palace in Anagni, Italy. They broke into the palace, attacked the elderly Pope, and held him prisoner for three days. The local townspeople eventually rescued the Pope, but the shock of the violent assault was so severe that Boniface died just a month later. The cathedral at Anagni where Pope Boniface VIII was attacked held a famous vase of the Virgin Mary's milk, and it was smashed during the raid. Why would anyone want to keep the milk of the Virgin Mary? The milk probably spoiled after 1500 years? This shows how false the Catholic religion is.

The smashing of the vase containing Mary's milk was an actual recorded historical event. The Cathedral of Anagni owned a vase containing a white, chalky substance that was venerated by medieval christians as the preserved breast milk of the Virgin Mary. When the French commandos sent by King Philip IV stormed the papal residence and the adjacent cathedral on September 7, 1303, they looted the complex and destroyed numerous sacred relics. During the chaos, the highly prized vase of the Virgin Mary's holy milk was knocked over and shattered on the ground.

Don't Worship Material Objects Like The Shroud Of Turin,
The Sudarium Of Oviedo, And Nehushtan

King Hezekiah destroyed the sinful idol Nehushtan (the former brazen serpent that Moses told the people to look at for healing) because it prevented the people from worshipping the Lord Jesus. 2 Kings 18:4 says He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan (a thing of brass).

The bronze serpent was originally created by Moses centuries earlier during the Israelites' wilderness wanderings. According to the book of Numbers, God commanded Moses to forge a bronze serpent and set it on a pole so that anyone bitten by fiery serpents could look at it and be healed. By the time Hezekiah became king (700 years later), the Israelites had begun to worship the brasen serpent as an idol, even burning incense to it.

As part of his campaign to purge Judah of idolatry and restore monotheism, Hezekiah smashed the brasen serpent into pieces. He reportedly called it Nehushtan, a Hebrew term meaning a mere piece of brass or a bronze thing, to strip it of its perceived divinity and remind the people that it was just metal. The story about Nehushtan serves as a warning about how a good thing or a past miracle can become an idol if people shift their focus from God to the object itself. In the gospel of John, the Lord Jesus references the original lifting up of the brasen serpent as a typology for his own crucifixion, symbolizing that those who look to him in faith will have eternal life.

Worship The Creator Jesus And Not The Creation

Like Nehushtan, Catholic leaders today worship material objects (The Shroud of Turin and The Sudarium of Oviedo) instead of the Lord Jesus. Don't make an idol out of any material object and take your eyes off of Jesus Christ crucified. Even if the Shroud of Turin and the Sudarium of Oviedo genuinely touched Jesus, focusing on the physical fabric instead of having faith in Jesus mirrors how the Israelites began to worship Moses' brasen serpent instead of God. Don't allow highly revered material objects to distract you from the Creator who is the Lord Jesus in favor of the creation.

Getting through to Jesus is simply arriving at the blessed point where we rest in the Blesser Jesus and not in any lesser blessing. Instead of majoring on the gift, major on the Giver Jesus. Instead of majoring on the blessing, major on the Blesser Jesus. Instead of majoring on any material object in creation like The Shroud of Turin, The Sudarium of Oviedo, or Nahushtan, major on the Creator who is the Lord Jesus. Get saved with the Lord Jesus and receive rest because Jesus promised at Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Focusing on material objects like the Shroud of Turin and the Sudarium of Oviedo can prevent people from truly following the Lord Jesus. John's final instruction at 1 John 5:21 says Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. In a modern context, an idol is anything including fake religious material objects placed higher than God. Jesus warned us at Luke 12:15 saying Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

Rather than accumulating physical objects, invest in spiritual blessings and seek eternal treasures. Jesus said at Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Authentic faith is spiritual and internal. Relying on physical objects for worship reduces a living relationship by faith with the Lord Jesus to a superstitious reliance on lucky charms.

Jesus, The Impenitent Thief, And The Penitent Thief

Pictured above, notice the Lord Jesus and the two thieves that died by Jesus on crosses. The impenitent thief rejected Jesus while the penitent thief received the Lord Jesus and got saved. The penitent thief did everything needed for salvation. The penitent thief got saved, repented, decided to stop sinning, confessed that Jesus is God calling Jesus Lord at the cross of Calvary, and believed the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for him, was buried, and rose again.

First the penitent thief repented by telling the impenitent thief at Luke 23:40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost thou not fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hast done nothing amiss.

And then Luke 23:42 says that the penitent thief got saved when he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom, believing the gospel that Jesus died for him on the cross, was buried, and rose from the dead to live forever in paradise heaven. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. The very second that the penitent thief got saved, he was brought out of bondage, sorrow, and night into Jesus' freedom, gladness, and light. He came out of shameful, failure, and loss into the glorious gain from the cross.

To get saved this thief didn't have to walk down a church aisle, shake a six foot spiritual icicle's hand, answer some questions, do some good works, get dunked in the pool (he got dry cleaned), and blend in with the crowd. All that was required for salvation was repentance, confessing that Jesus is God, and believing the gospel that Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and rose again. Get saved like this penitent thief. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

Like this thief, the worst person on this earth can be saved in an instant. The blood of Jesus can remove the worst of sins like murder, rape, killing, stealing, adultery, and lying that I do not condone. But note that there is one sin that is the worst sin (worse than murder, killing, and rape) that will not be forgiven and send a person to hell and the lake of fire forever. The sin of rejecting the Lord Jesus is the worst sin. You can be forgiven for murder, killing, and rape. But if you reject Jesus, there is no forgiveness in hell and the lake of fire where there is no escape forever. When the rich man rejected Jesus, he could not escape from hell and pass over a great gulf fixed to heaven.

Acts 4:12 says Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name (Jesus) under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Salvation is not in a plan. Salvation is in a person named Jesus. Not the blood of Jesus plus works. Not the blood of Jesus plus wafers. Not the blood of Jesus plus water. But it's the blood of Jesus plus nothing that saves.

The dying thief rejoiced to see, that fountain in his day;
And there may I, though vile as he, wash all my sins away.

A Story About Three Preachers In A Boat Confessing Their Sins

I had to end up today's message with a story about the three preachers in the boat pictured above confessing their sins. The first preacher confessed that he liked to smoke cigars and lit up his cigar and began to puff on it. The second preacher confessed that he liked to drink and took out a wine flask and took a swig. Then these two preachers said to the last preacher; Alright we confessed our sins; What's your sin? The last preacher replied, Gossiping, get me to the shore quick.
