Dinah Should Have Stayed At Home

     Today's message is about a woman named Dinah who was the only sister to the twelve sons of Jacob. Here's a question to ask your friends. Ask them If a man in the bible had 12 sons and each of the sons had a sister how many children would be in the family? Most people would say 24, but the correct answer is 13 because all the 12 sons of Jacob had the same sister named Dinah. I encourage all young women to read this message and avoid Dinah's mistake pictured above of going out to see the glitter, fashion, and fading splendour of this evil world. James 4:4 warns us all that the friendship of the world is enmity with God. Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

     The story about the picture above can be found at Genesis 34:1 and says And Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land. And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her, and defiled her. And his soul clave unto Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the damsel, and spake kindly unto the damsel.

     Genesis 34:4 goes on to say And Shechem spake unto his father Hamor, saying, Get me this damsel to wife. And Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah his daughter: now his sons were with his cattle in the field: and Jacob held his peace until they were come. And Hamor the father of Shechem went out unto Jacob to commune with him. And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard it: and the men were grieved, and they were very wroth, because he had wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob's daughter: which thing ought not to be done.

     First, notice that the reason trouble occurred in the above story was because a young innocent girl named Dinah decided to leave home and go see the evil world of Shechem. When Dinah arrived at Shechem, she met a handsome prince named Shechem and was fascinated with the fashions and glamour of Shechem. But when Dinah became captivated by the world of Shechem and blind to reality, she failed to see the dangers around her and was raped and defiled by prince Shechem.

     Notice in the above story that after Shechem raped Dinah, Shechem spake kindly to Dinah. Dinah decided to shack up and live with Shechem because Shechem spake kindly to her. Like Dinah, many young girls today will live with a man before marriage and say it's alright because this man treats me good and speaks kind words to me. Brother Bob says it does not matter how good or kind a man is that lives with a woman before marriage, It is still wicked as hell. Hebrews 13:4 says Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. I pray in Jesus name that young girls who read this will honour God's word and not live with a man until they are married by a minister of God to receive the blessings of Jesus.

     Notice also in the above story at Genesis 34:7 that it states that Shechem's sin of fornication (sex with Dinah outside of marriage) ought not to be done. 1 Thessalonians 4:3 also says For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication. Today the world is wrong when it says marriage occurs when a man and woman shack up and live together. The world is also wrong when marriage is legalized between two men and two women. But notice that the world today is not promoting the blessed marriage of a man and a woman, that is the correct biblical definition of a marriage. Friends can't you see that today the main thing the devil is fighting is the blessed union of marriage between a man and woman. Jesus wanted a man and a woman to be married by a minister of God, be frutiful and multiply, and have children raised in the goodness of Jesus.

     When Dinah met prince Shechem, she was probably taken to live in a castle and palace like the ones pictured above. Dinah was a naive innocent virgin girl who got involved with glamour and sinned when she was swept away by prince Shechem. Instead of Jesus, Dinah wanted a good looking man, with a fine robe, a horse, and a chariot, wanting one night of splendour in a palace with the king's son. Dinah was flattered that a prince would care about her, a poor little Jewish girl that traveled in a tent. It was fascinating to Dinah that Shechem had a castle, a palace, and lived in a city with walls and gates, and cared about her. Even though Dinah was enjoying the castle, palace, and the prince, she did not realize the consequences of her sin until it was too late after Shechem raped and defiled her. Dinah was a virgin at home, but because Dinah left home to enjoy the temporary pleasures of the world, she returned defiled when she left the evil world of Shechem.

     How many young girls today like Dinah come home crying to their parents saying I wish I never went out to this wicked world. I wish I never met this evil man. He's no good. But the damage is done. Brother Bob says to all young girls reading this, stay home, just stay home, marry out, don't go out, marry out. Stay with mom and dad until it's time to hitch up. Young girls should marry out and not run away from home. So many young kids today get away from mom and dad and they are too proud to say I'm sorry. The bible says at Exodus 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

     Notice that because Dinah sinned and walked around the block and was introduced to something she could not handle, she ruined her family's name, ruined the nation of Israel, and an entire city was destroyed. The bible says that after Dinah was raped by Shechem, her brothers killed prince Shechem, his father Hamor, and all the male Hivites in the city of Shechem. All because one innocent girl named Dinah wandered from home.   

     Like Dinah, today many young girls want to be sightseers and streetwalkers, seeing what's going on around the corner. These young girls get tired of home and leave home to see the fast pace life of sin city. Many turn from a good home and security to experience a change. It's amazing to Brother Bob that most women will scream at a mouse but sit in a car with a wolf. These young girls get tired of school, church every Sunday, bible reading every night, praying all the time, and want to be like the other kids and have fun. No good christian mother or father wants their daughter wandering the streets doing wicked sins.

     These young kids want to see something different and they don't last but one night sometimes. These young kids get around sin, and they don't even hardly have a chance. The world swallows them up so fast that the young girls have to sell themselves to live and no longer enjoy life, making kids not want to live anymore. To all young kids that read this, remember that life is wonderful if you live for Jesus. But if kids get away from security, the church, and away from their parents and people that love them and go to the evil world, this evil world will drag them straight to hell and laugh at them on the way.

      If you are a young girl reading this and you want to have a blessed happy life, take time to read and do what is stated at Titus 2:4: That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet (temperate, denying your flesh and letting Jesus shine in your life), chaste (pure and sacred by looking daily to God's Word and Jesus Christ crucified with your heart), keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed. Be a blessed young girl like Priscilla who helped her husband Aquila teach Apollos how to preach. Acts 18:26 says And he (Apollos) began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.

     Titus 2:4 tells us that if young girls keep home and be good wives and mothers, these young girls won't find themselves out on the streets of an evil world in trouble, defiled, ruined, lost, brokenhearted, ashamed, and with disease. But Brother Bob says to all young girls who have made mistakes in the past, the blood of Jesus can wash away all your troubles, shame, and past wrongs. 1 John 1:9 says If we confess our sins, He (Jesus) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. With Jesus there is always hope and today with Jesus you can start a new life where your past wrongs will no longer be mentioned. I claim in Jesus name for all the young girls that read this that they will become blessed mothers, keepers of homes who care for their husbands and children, speaking to their family about the Lord Jesus, who no longer walk idly in the streets of this evil world.

Today is a new day with Jesus who will forget your past sins

Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, 

Confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel

That Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again

     You might say what is the meaning of the two pictures above of Paul hearing a Macedonian man saying come over into Macedonia and help us and Lot pitching his tent toward Sodom. Jesus told Brother Bob to link the two pictures together and tell christians that they can not hear the Macedonian call and serve Jesus with their tents pitched toward the wicked world of Sodom or Shechem. When Lot pitched his tent toward wicked Sodom, Jacob also pitched his tent toward wicked Shechem, tempting his daughter Dinah to visit Shechem and become defiled. Genesis 33:18 says And Jacob came to Shalem, a city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Padanaram; and pitched his tent before the city.

     Parents learn a lesson from the two pictures above and remember that you can not raise your children for Jesus when you pitch your tent near the evil world of Sodom or Shechem. Your family will not be able to hear the Macedonian call for help and be able to serve Jesus when you expose your family to the wicked world. The world will blind and deafen your family to the Macedonian call. 2 Corinthians 4:4 warns us that the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

      The apostle Paul was able to hear the Macedonian man's call for help because Paul denied the world. Acts 16:9 says And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us. And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

     Parents, remember if you pitch your tent toward the evil world of Shechem, you will expose your innocent daughters to rapists, infidels, and the devils of this evil world that can ruin innocent children. I pray for all parents reading this bible study in Jesus name that they will be able to keep their kids at home away from the evils of this world.

     Brother Bob constantly tries to tell young kids to be careful of the company that they keep. 1 Corinthians 15:33 says Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. Young kids trying to live for Jesus, be careful when you get into cars of your friends that you do not know. Stay away from drugs, alcohol, and guns, and live for Jesus. Brother Bob has known several young kids that had to go to jail for being in a car where marijuana was smoked when a policeman arrested all the kids in the car. Proverbs 13:20 warns us He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

     To close out today's bible study, the above pictures of Tamar and the prodigal son remind Brother Bob of Dinah where they also experienced trouble from the world. Tamar, like Dinah, did not stay at home but innocently went to the house of her brother Amnon to bake him cakes. The result was that another innocent young girl Tamar was raped by her brother Amnon and then the other brother Absalom took revenge for Tamar and killed Amnon. You can read about this story at 2 Samuel 13.

     Also the prodigal son pictured above, like Dinah became curious about the far country and left home to see the evil world. Like Dinah, the prodigal son was enticed by the glitter and glamour of the far country and learned that the world offered nothing but trouble and problems. The prodigal son returned to his father and learned that being with the Lord Jesus was much better than anything this world had to offer.

     Tell people everywhere that the only answer to our troubles can be stated in one word: Jesus. The world might tell you that there are answers outside of Jesus, but only Jesus can save us all. Currently many cars display signs of 7 symbols representing the 7 most important religions of the world that are Muslim, Jew, Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, New Age, and Yoga, and underneath these listed religions it says God loves everybody. This is true, but only Jesus can save everybody.

     One time a Muslim told me I hate you because you are a christian. I responded and told the Muslim, I love you because I'm a christian. Truly, when christians are persecuted, people are persecuting the Lord Jesus and not us. When Saul persecuted and threatened to kill the christians at Damascus, the Lord Jesus was being persecuted. Jesus told Saul at Acts 9:4 Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? Remember that 1 Peter 4:14 says If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part He (the Lord Jesus) is evil spoken of, but on your part He is glorified (keep glorifying the Lord Jesus when the world speaks evil and persecutes you for serving Jesus).

Why Gold, Frankincense, And Myrrh Were Given To Jesus, The Who, What, Whom, When, How, And Why Of Psalm 34, And Why Christians Live With Jesus And Not Die With Adam

     For our first parable today, notice the picture above of the wise men bringing three gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the Lord Jesus. Matthew 2:11 says And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped Him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

     These three gifts were presented to our Lord Jesus recognizing His three titles (prophet, priest, and king). Jesus was a prophet on the earth, a priest in heaven, and will be a king ruling with a rod of iron during the millennial kingdom of heaven on earth and ruling with peace in the kingdom of God. Jesus is a prophet, priest, and king. Jesus is a better prophet than Moses, a better priest than Aaron after the order of Melchizedek, and a better king than David. 

     Myrrh represents the Lord Jesus as a prophet on earth who speaks God's word and fulfills prophecy through his sacrifice on the cross of Calvary. Myrrh is the most sobering gift. Myrrh is used primarily as an embalming oil for burial that acts as a preservative to prevent deterioration and a means to manage the odor of decay. Myrrh symbolizes Jesus' humanity and foreshadows his suffering and death on the cross of Calvary. Historically, prophets were often rejected and killed, and myrrh serves as a gift of foreshadowing for Jesus' role as a prophet on earth who would ultimately sacrifice himself on the cross of Calvary to save lost sinners.

     Frankincense represents the Lord Jesus as a priest in heaven who offers himself as a sacrifice for ever after the order of Melchisedec and intercedes for humanity. Frankincense was the sacred substance and aromatic resin exclusively used by priests to facilitate a connection between God and humanity. Only priests were authorized to burn frankincense in the sanctuary. By receiving the gift of frankincense, the Lord Jesus is identified as the Great High Priest who acts as the ultimate mediator between God and humanity. 

     Frankincense is the key ingredient in temple incense. It's rising smoke symbolizes the prayers of the people ascending to God. As the Great High Priest for ever, the Lord Jesus is seen as the intercessor who continuously offers prayers and intercedes on behalf of humanity. Hebrews 7:25 says Wherefore he (Jesus) is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. Psalm 110:4 prophesied that the Lord Jesus would be a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek, a role reaffirmed by the gift of frankincense. The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent. Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. 

     Gold represents the Lord Jesus as a king ruling with a rod of iron during the millennial kingdom of heaven on earth and ruling with peace in the kingdom of God. Gold is the standard gift given to honor royalty. The gift of gold acknowledged the Lord Jesus' sovereign dominion and right to rule for ever as King of kings and Lord of lords. Revelation 19:16 says And he (Jesus) hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

   

     The Lord Jesus is a prophet, priest, and king. Deuteronomy 18:15 says that Jesus is a prophet saying The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto Him ye shall hearken. Psalm 110:4 says that Jesus is a priest saying The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. Revelation 11:15 says that Jesus is a king for ever saying And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever.

     For our second parable today, when you look at the picture above of a wicked son getting saved with Jesus before his father dies, realize the importance of going into all the world to save souls for Jesus. Proverbs 11:30 says The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. Jesus said at Mark 16:15 Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

     I pray in Jesus name that the following blessed true story about the picture above blesses everyone. One time a man had seven sons. And on his death bed, he called every son by his bedside. He said to the first son, goodnight son, I'll see you in the morning. Then the next son came by the bedside and the father said again goodnight son, I'll see you in the morning. The father also gave these sons good advice.

     But his last son was a real rebel, a wild and crazy kid. And when this last son got by the bed of his father, his father took him by the hand and said goodbye son. And this last rebellious son began to cry and  said, papa, papa, you told everyone else, goodnight son, I'll see you in the morning. You told me goodbye, what's wrong papa. The father said, son, they're all saved, I'll see them in the morning, but you're not saved, I'll never see you again. So for you it's goodbye son. After hearing this, the rebellious son dropped on his knees and begged God to save him and Jesus gloriously saved that rebellious child. Then the last words out of the father's mouth before he died were goodnight son, I'll see you in the morning. Like these sons, get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

The Six Questions From Psalm 34

Who What Whom When How And Why

     For our third parable today, let's look at the six questions from Psalm 34:1 that are who, what, whom, when, how, and why. Psalm 34:1 says (who), I (what), will bless (whom), the Lord (when), at all times: (how), his praise shall continually be in my mouth. Finally (why), because we love the Lord Jesus. 

     When you don't feel like praising God, give God a sacrifice of praise. Hebrews 13:15 says By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. When you praise and bless the Lord Jesus, your enemies will flee from you. Proverbs 28:1 says The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion. According to this blessed promise, I ain't chasing the devil, but he runs away anyhow. Psalm 68:1 says Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered: let them also that hate Him flee before Him.     

     For our fourth and fifth parables today, we see pictured above Adam and Eve leaving the garden of Eden and a box of morton salt. Let's begin with the picture of Adam and Eve and ask a question that we hear a lot from people in this world when they say What would the world be like if Adam and Eve didn't sin? The answer is the same troubled world it has always been because you, I, and everyone, except the Lord Jesus, would've sinned. Romans 3:23 says For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Adam could not save this world because only the Lord Jesus can save this troubled world. This is proven by John 14:6 where Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 

     Genesis 5:1 lists the book of the generations of Adam where men died. Matthew 1:1 lists the book of the generation of Jesus Christ where no one's death is recorded. Study Genesis 5 and Matthew 1 and note the many deaths listed at Genesis 5 from Adam and no deaths listed with Jesus at Matthew 1 (truly incredible that no one dies with Jesus). A sin nature with death comes from Adam while eternal life and peace comes from Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:22 explains the difference between Adam's book of the generations and Jesus' book of the generation. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. Romans 5:17 says For if by one man's offence (Adam) death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.  

     Notice the picture above of a box of morton salt and ask this question to your friends. What woman in the bible is not named, died, was never buried, and her graveclothes can be found in the grocery store? If after you say this the person needs another hint tell them she's the only woman Jesus said to remember. The answer is Lot's wife. Jesus said Remember Lot's wife and the graveclothes of Lot's wife (a pillar of salt) can be found in the grocery store. While I'm at it, here's some more biblical questions for all my friends. Who in the bible had no parents? Joshua son of Nun. What was Isaiah's horse called? Isme because Isaiah said Whoa Isme. 

     A man had a horse that he taught to run when a person said Hallelujah and to stop when a person said Amen. This man let his friend ride his horse telling him he needs to say Hallelujah and Amen to get the horse to run and stop. The friend got on the horse and shouted Hallelujah and when the horse was running toward a steep cliff, the friend forgot that he had to say Amen to stop the horse and kept saying Whoa, Whoa, but right before the horse reached the cliff, the friend remembered to say Amen, and the horse stopped right at the edge of the cliff. The friend was so happy that the horse stopped that he shouted Hallelujah.

Jesus Is The Fit Man, Daysman, Kinsman Redeemer, Expiation, Atonement, Propitiation, Justification, Sanctification, And Glorification

     For today's bible study we see a fit man pictured above sending a scapegoat carrying all the sins of the children of God into an uninhabited wilderness never to return again. The fit man would then return to the camp of Israel without the goat while the people shouted praise because their sins were gone for ever. The people in the camp would rejoice and shout fit man's comin' and he ain't got the goat. The people celebrated because the goat and the peoples' sins were gone for ever.

     Jesus is the fit man that bore our sins on the cross of Calvary, was buried, and rose again, who will return to His saints a second time without sin unto salvation. Hebrews 9:28 says So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation. The fit man Jesus took His own blood to take away our sins for ever and will soon take His saints to the kingdom of God where their sins will never be remembered. Isaiah 65:17 says For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

     The story about the fit man and the scapegoat pictured above can be found at Leviticus 16:7 and says And he shall take the two goats, and present them before the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the Lord, and the other lot for the scapegoat. And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the Lord's lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering. But the goat on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the Lord, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.

     Leviticus 16:20 goes on to say And when he hath made an end of reconciling the holy place, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat: And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness. Leviticus 16:26 then says And he that let go the goat for the scapegoat shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward come into the camp.

     Take time to read my good friend Sonny Mull's description of how the fit man took away our sins for ever. The fit man would take the scapegoat into the wilderness, a place not inhabited, and where the goat could never return. Then the fit man left the scapegoat and came back to the camp by himself. A watchman on a mountaintop would holler to another watchman fit man's comin' and he ain't got the goat. Then the second watchman would holler to another watchman on a mountaintop, fit man's comin' and he ain't got the goat. Many watchmen would holler from one mountain to another mountain fit man's comin' and he ain't got the goat till it got back to the camp. And when the people in the camp heard fit man's comin' and he ain't got the goat, the people of the camp shouted and rejoiced for seven days.

     The people of the camp shouted praises for seven days because the goat carried away their sins into the wilderness never to be heard of, never to return, never to be brought back, as far as the east is from the west, where their sins were gone for ever. The Lord Jesus is the fit man that bore our sins in His own body on the tree, and Jesus is coming back a second time for those who look for Him without sin unto salvation. Jesus is comin' again and He ain't got the goat, He ain't got our sins, and Jesus has taken away our sins for ever to an uninhabited place where the goat can never bring them back to the saints' camp in the new Jerusalem.

     For our next picture notice the Lord Jesus who is the daysman (judge and mediator) between God and men. The word daysman appears only once in the bible at Job 9:33 where Job said Neither is there any daysman (judge and mediator) betwixt (between) us, that might lay his hand upon us both. Job felt that he could not argue his case against God without an impartial mediator who could bridge the gap between God and men. The apostle Paul proclaimed that the Lord Jesus is our daysman (judge and mediator) that reconciled God to men and stated at 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

     The daysman was empowered by mutual consent to hear and decide a cause, metaphorically laying his hand on both parties to enforce a decision. When something is described metaphorically, the words are not intended to be taken in their ordinary, real world sense, but rather as an image or symbol that helps to understand an abstract concept or idea. The daysman was a neutral, respected person empowered by mutual consent of both parties to make a final decision in a dispute, effectively imposing their authority on both to enforce a sentence or bring about reconciliation. The informal process of arbitration by a daysman, often called a "loveday" in medieval England, was a common way to resolve disagreements and avoid formal litigation.

     The word of the daysman stood for ever like a judge's decision as the final word for a dispute. The Lord Jesus is our daysman that holds onto us and onto God and brings us together to the Father when He washes away all our sins with His own precious blood. Everyone praise the Lord Jesus for saying to the Father as our daysman that my word is final, and my saved saints are cleansed from all their sins by my blood and can enter and live for ever in peace in the kingdom of God. 1 John  1:7 says But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.

     Pictured above notice Boaz who was the kinsman redeemer for Ruth. Boaz was the bridegroom that redeemed, married, and bought the Moabitess Ruth. Boaz represented the Lord Jesus and Ruth represented the bride church. The Lord Jesus is the bridegroom kinsman redeemer of the bride church who redeemed, married, and bought the church with His own precious blood shed at the cross of Calvary. 

     1 Peter 1:18 says Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you. Redeem means to recover something by paying a price. The Lord Jesus paid the ransom price demanded by God for the release of sinners with His own precious blood that bought back and delivered sinners from the captivity and punishment of hell and the lake of fire. 

     A kinsman redeemer (called a go'el in Hebrew) was, in ancient Israelite culture, a close male relative who was responsible for coming to the aid of family members in desperate circumstances and restoring their well-being, property, and family name. It was a legal and social obligation, not just an act of charity. If a man died without leaving a son, the kinsman redeemer would marry the widow to produce an heir who could carry on the deceased husband's name and inherit his property, thus preventing the family line from dying out. 

     The biblical book of Ruth provides the most famous illustration of the kinsman redeemer. After her husband and sons died, Naomi and her daughter in law Ruth were left destitute and without a male protector. Boaz, a wealthy relative, was willing and able to act as their kinsman redeemer. He purchased the family land and married Ruth, securing their future and continuing the family lineage, which ultimately led to King David and the Lord Jesus Christ. 

     The role of the kinsman redeemer is a powerful symbol in the bible that foreshadows the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Just as the go'el had to be a near relative, willing, and able to pay the price for redemption, so Jesus, by taking on human flesh, became our kinsman redeemer, was willing to die for us, and was uniquely able to pay the full price, (His own precious sinless blood shed at the cross of Calvary), to redeem humanity from the bondage of sin and spiritual death.  

The Difference Between Expiation, Atonement, And Propitiation

     Expiation means cleaning up and removing the sins of mankind that occurred when Jesus took away our sins at the cross of Calvary. Expiation involves performing an action by offering a sacrifice to correct a past wrong that removes any guilt. The primary focus of expiation is taking away or nullifying the guilt incurred by a transgression. Jesus' death on the cross of Calvary is the ultimate, one time sacrifice that pays the penalty for sin and removes the guilt of believers, allowing for reconciliation with God. Hebrews 10:14 says For by one offering He (Jesus) hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified (free from the guilt of sin).

     Atonement means fixing a relationship that occurred when Jesus made peace between God and men because Jesus died on the cross of Calvary. Expiation is the specific act of paying the penalty to cleanse sin and guilt. Atonement is the result, outcome, and state of being reconciled and at one with God because Jesus died for our sins at the cross of Calvary. Expiation is a means to achieve atonement.

     Propitiation means satisfying and appeasing God's anger against sin that occurred when Jesus took sinners' punishment for sins at the cross of Calvary, thereby satisfying, appeasing, and removing God's anger against sin. Propitiation refers to the specific belief that Jesus Christ's death on the cross of Calvary was an atoning sacrifice that appeased God's righteous wrath against sin, thereby reconciling humanity to God. In this view, God Himself provided the means of propitiation, demonstrating both His justice (which demands sin to be punished) and His love (providing a way for sinners to be saved).

     Now that you understand the meaning of propitiation rejoice while you study the three scriptures with the word propitiation. Romans 3:24 says Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God. 1 John 2:2 says And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 4:10 says Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Remission means removal of guilt and a penalty where the offender is treated as though the offense had never been committed, freeing them from the divine punishment they would otherwise face.

The Difference Between Justification, Sanctification, And Glorification

     Justification is a one time instantaneous legal act where God declares a sinner righteous when he gets saved, repents, decides to stop sinning, confesses that Jesus is God, and believes the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for him, was buried, and rose again. During justification God is the judge that declares the verdict of a christian to be not guilty. Justification is not earned by works, but is based solely on faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. Jesus Christ's righteousness is imputed (credited) to the christian's account through faith. After justification, a christian receives Jesus Christ's perfect righteousness (Just As If The Christian Never Sinned). Justification delivers a christian from the penalty of sin called eternal condemnation.

     Sanctification is the ongoing, progressive work of the Holy Spirit to make a christian more like Jesus Christ. Unlike the one time event of justification during salvation, sanctification is a lifelong journey of spiritual growth and maturity. Sanctification happens over a process of time while a christian walks by faith by means of the Holy Spirit. While justification is entirely God's work, sanctification involves the christian actively cooperating with God to fight sin and practice godliness. Sanctification delivers a christian from the power of sin and its daily control over his life.

     Justification occurs prior to sanctification. Christians can only become sanctified after they have been justified (saved with Jesus and the Holy Spirit). A justified christian will always show evidence of salvation through the process of sanctification.

     Glorification is the final stage of salvation and the ultimate fulfillment of the christian's journey. Glorification follows justification (being declared righteous by God) and sanctification (the lifelong process of becoming holy). Glorification is the complete and permanent removal of sin from a christian's nature, making them perfect in holiness. During glorification christians receive immortal, incorruptible bodies modeled after the glorified body of Jesus after His resurrection. Glorification marks the end of all pain, sickness, death, and the very presence of sin. Glorification enables christians to dwell forever in the direct presence of God, seeing Him face to face. Glorification is a future event that happens when a christian is raptured. Glorification delivers a christian from the presence of sin that never exists in the kingdom of God.

     Justification was past tense where christians have been saved from the penalty of sin in hell and the lake of fire. Sanctification is present tense where christians are saved from the power of sin during their life in this world. Glorification will be future tense where christians will be saved from the presence of sin in the kingdom of God.

Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, 

Confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel

What'll It Be? Wages Or Gift?

GOD SAYS

YOU SIN, I PAY, YOU DIE

GOD ALSO SAYS

I GIVE, YOU RECEIVE, YOU LIVE

     Get saved and receive the gift of eternal life who is the Lord Jesus Christ. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. Romans 6:23 says For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. In other words God says You sin, I pay, you die; but God also says I give, you receive, you live. What'll it be? Wages or Gift?

     God pays on time and payday will occur for a sinner with wages of death unless that sinner repents, gets saved, and accepts the gift (Jesus) and receives eternal life. A boss on a job might not pay someone their wages, but if a sinner rejects Jesus, God will pay that sinner with the wages of death. God says You sin, I pay, you die. Avoid the wages of death. Get saved and receive the gift Jesus and eternal life. 

     God also says I give, you receive, you live. John 3:16 tells us that the Lord Jesus is the gift of everlasting life to anyone that gets saved with Jesus. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Jesus is the best gift anyone could receive.

     Like the little girl pictured above, let's all receive the gift Jesus. When we receive the best gift who is the Lord Jesus, we receive eternal life. John 3:36 says He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. 1 John 5:11 says And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and He that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

     God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked and is longsuffering, wanting all sinners to repent, get saved, and receive the gift of eternal life with Jesus. Ezekiel 33:11 says Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel. 2 Peter 3:9 says The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to usward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

     After a person receives the gift Jesus, the bible promises that this person will become born again. John 1:12 says But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: Which were born, not of blood, nor or the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. In other words sinners become born of God or born again when they believe on the name of Jesus. Jesus said a man must be born again to see the kingdom of God. John 3:3 says Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.  Then Jesus said at John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

     If you are born twice (a natural birth and born again when you get saved with Jesus), you shall never see death. But if you are only born once and stay an unrepentent sinner without Jesus, you will die two times (the first death in hell and the second death in the lake of fire). 

     The following scriptures speak about the two deaths that a sinner experiences without Jesus. Matthew 10:28 says And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him (Jesus) which is able to destroy both soul and body (of sinners that reject Jesus) in hell. Revelation 20:14 says And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. 

     Avoid the second death and the lake of fire. Get saved and receive the gift who is Jesus and eternal life, where you shall never see death. Jesus said at John 8:51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. Get saved and choose eternal life with the Lord Jesus instead of two deaths with the devil. 

     Jesus said at Revelation 2:11 He that overcometh (saved christians overcome with Jesus according to John 16:33) shall not be hurt of the second death (lake of fire). Jesus said at John 16:33 These things I have written unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

A Blessed Story About A Father Who Received A Painting Of His Son

If You Have The Son Jesus, You Have Everything You Need 

     There was a man who had a son, his wife died, and the son became very close to his father. They invested in paintings and had many beautiful and expensive paintings. The son went to the army and got killed while saving his best friend who was wounded on the battlefield. The father got a letter that his son was killed in action but that he died a hero rescuing his wounded comrade. The father lost interest in the paintings after his son died. Without his son, the paintings were worthless to him.

     A few weeks later, the friend whose life was spared went to meet the father with a painting under his arm. He said Thank you for raising such a fine son that was willing to spare his life and save my life. A week before your son was killed, he told me he loved paintings and since I'm an artist, one week before he died, I told him I'd paint his portrait, and I want to give his portrait to you. 

     The father went to the fireplace and took down the most expensive painting and set it in the corner and replaced it with his son's portrait. Instead of looking at the expensive paintings, he spent all day looking at his son in his uniform who was a hero. After the father died, an auctioneer came to auction off all the father's property.

     The auctioneer opened up his briefcase, took out all his papers, took out his gavel, and said I'm going to do exactly by law what this father wanted in his will. I'm going to sell everything he has. His house, his jewelry, and all his expensive paintings. Now the first thing we're going to auction off is the painting of his son. Everyone said We don't want that, get to the good stuff, get to the expensive house and the jewelry first.

     The auctioneer said, No, the father told me to auction off the painting of his son first. The auctioneer said What is the bid for this beautiful painting of this fine handsome son who was killed on the battlefield rescuing his wounded comrade? Who will bid, who will bid, give me a bid, any kind of bid? Nobody said a word. But then a little old man who used to be a friend of the son bid $5. 

     The auctioneer said $5, who will bid $10? Nobody said anything. Going once, going twice, three times. $5 sold. Then the auctioneer started putting everything in his briefcase and said the auction was finished. The people said, Wait, wait, what about the house, what about the cars, what about the expensive jewelry, what about the expensive paintings. Aren't you going to sell them? The auctioneer said my orders were, He that gets the Son, gets it all. The poor old man who didn't have anything; He got the Son and that got him everything. After you read this story leap for joy and praise Jesus because if you have the Son Jesus, you have everything you need.

Naaman Wanted Two Mules Carrying The Holy Ground Of Israel

     Today's bible study is about how Naaman got healed of leprosy and requested two mules carrying the holy ground of Israel from the prophet Elisha. Pictured above we see a little maid encouraging Naaman to go meet the prophet Elisha in Israel to receive healing and cure his leprosy. The bible says that even though Naaman was rich, lived in a castle, was a captain of a great army, was a great man of valour that many people bowed down to, he was a leper. Naaman said I'd give away all this fame and fortune if I could just be cured of this leprosy.

     The story about the above picture is at 2 Kings 5:1 and says Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the Lord had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper. And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife (note the little maid that blessed Naaman was a slave taken captive by Naaman). And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria. for he would recover him of his leprosy.

     The bible goes on to say at 2 Kings 5:4 And one went in, and told his lord, saying Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel. And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him 10 talents of silver, and 6000 pieces of gold, and 10 changes of raiment. And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy.

     When the king of Israel received the letter from the king of Syria requesting that he heal Naaman, he was fearful and thought the king of Syria was seeking a quarrel. But the prophet Elisha came to the rescue and told the king of Israel to send Naaman to his house for a healing. 2 Kings 5:7 says And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? Wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me. And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.

     Pictured above we see that Naaman listened to the advice of the little maid and visited the house of Elisha to be healed of leprosy. We all need to be like Naaman and when we need our problems fixed, go to meet the man of God whose prayers can heal you. Naaman thought the prophet Elisha would come out of the house to pray for him, and got angry when Elisha stayed inside his house, and had his servant Gehazi tell Naaman to go jump in the Jordan river seven times to be cured of leprosy. Naaman probably said I don't want to have anything to do with that prophet Elisha anymore. This preacher Elisha won't even come out to meet me or even shake my hand. How dare that Elisha tell me, a great and powerful leader, to go jump in the river.

     2 Kings 5:9 records what happened when Naaman visited Elisha and says So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha. And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean. But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought he will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the Lord his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper. Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage. And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he sayeth to thee, Wash, and be clean?

     Note that God's instruction to Naaman was to jump in the Jordan river (not the Abana or the Pharpar rivers) seven times to be healed of leprosy. Naaman had to learn that he should just do things God's way because there is no other way. When Naaman left Elisha's house in a rage, one of Naaman's servants said, Master Naaman if Elisha told you to do some great thing you would have done it. If he told you to kill a bear, you would have killed a bear. If he told you to fight a lion, you would have fought a lion, but all he said was go dip yourself in the Jordan river seven times. Is that too hard? After Naaman pondered what his servant said, I could see Naaman saying Well I did come a long way, I'll try it.

     When Naaman obeyed God's instructions from Elisha to dip himself seven times in the Jordan river, Naaman's flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child and he was healed of leprosy. 2 Kings 5:14 says Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

     My good friend Pastor Sonny Mull described Naaman's healing and said that Naaman went down to Jordan and dunked himself one time and washed himself off. Then he dunked himself again and said I feel kind of silly, here I am a captain in the army, and I'm the king's armourbearer. The king leans on my hand when he worships, I'm his bodyguard, and when the king has his eyes closed praying, I'm watching for the enemy. I'm the greatest man in Syria. Here I am up here with these bunch of Samaritans up here in Samaria jumping in the Jordan river.

     Then Naaman said Well I'll dip again for the fourth time and when he got frustrated, Naaman said What's the use? Same old skin. After the fifth dip, Naaman said I'm wasting my time, Same old skin. After the sixth dip, Naaman said again Same old skin. But when Naaman dipped the seventh time in the Jordan, when he came up his skin was restored like a baby's skin. There ain't nothing as soft and cuddly as baby's skin. To all women reading this bible study, if God told you to jump in a river seven times to receive baby skin, wouldn't you do it?

     The reason Naaman got baby skin was because Naaman obeyed God's instructions, got born again, experienced a change, and got saved. Naaman truly was a new man and experienced 2 Corinthians 5:17 that says Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Instead of worshipping the idols of Syria, Naaman wanted to only praise and worship the true God of Israel.

     Obey God's instructions in the Word of God because there is no other way. Like Naaman, if God tells you to jump in a river to be healed, bless God, jump in a river. It's not whether you want to or not, it's what God says to do. Naaman said I'll do it my way, I'll go down and dip in Abana and Pharpar. No that won't work. God said dip in Jordan. When God says something, that's what God means. There wasn't any power in Abana, Pharpar, or even Jordan, the power was in doing what God said to do. Samuel said at 1 Samuel 15:22 Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 

     You all might say Why is Brother Bob posting a picture of two mules above? The reason for this is to display the two mules that Naaman requested from Elisha burden of earth (carrying the holy ground of Israel) after Naaman was healed of leprosy. You see after Naaman got healed, got right with God, and saved, he wanted to bless Elisha with a gift. After Elisha refused Naaman's gift, Naaman requested two mules burden of earth from Elisha. The reason Naaman wanted two mules carrying the holy ground of Israel was because Naaman wanted to take a little piece of Israel home with him to Syria. Naaman said when I get home in Syria, I'll dump the holy ground of Israel carried by the two mules in my backyard, stand on the holy ground of Israel, and worship the true God of Israel.

     You see Naaman remembered that in the days of Moses, people would make altars of earth, and when a person stood on holy ground offering a sacrifice of praise to Jesus, a blessing would occur. Naaman wanted to make his own altar of earth in his Syrian backyard to receive the blessings of the God of Israel. Exodus 20:24 speaks about building altars of earth to receive God's blessings and says An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.

     The bible records Naaman's request for two mules burden of earth at 2 Kings 5:15 and says And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said. Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a blessing of thy servant. But he said, As the Lord liveth, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take it; but he refused.

     2 Kings 5:17 goes on to say And Naaman said, shall there not then, I pray thee, be given to thy servant two mules' burden (carrying) of earth (holy ground)? for thy servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods, but unto the Lord. In this thing the Lord pardon thy servant that when my master goeth into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leaneth on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon: the Lord pardon thy servant in this thing.

     Now take some time to read this anointed story of how Pastor Sonny Mull described what Naaman did with his two mules carrying the holy ground of Israel. When Naaman headed home to Syria with his two mule loads of holy ground, when he passed the Abana and Pharpar rivers, he pulled those two mules into his backyard and unloaded the holy ground in his backyard behind his house. Praise God, Naaman dumped that holy ground in his backyard and got on top of it and he began to lift up holy hands and he began to thank and praise God.

      When Naaman's neighbors peeped over the fence, they said Well what got into Naaman? Something has happened to Naaman. He ain't the same old Naaman he was when he left here. Praise God, when you get right with God Almighty, your neighbors will notice a great change in your life. When Naaman stood on the holy ground of Israel praising God in his backyard, his neighbors watched him, and the CIA, FBI, and the FBA (Fathers Band Of Angels) watched him. The king of Syria and his wife also watched Naaman praising God.

     When the little maid saw Naaman praising God, the little maid said glory to God, glory to God. Now Naaman had to call the little maid sister. He couldn't say to the little maid, Come here punk or Come here slave. Naaman was changed and now showed the love of God to the little maid and called her sister. When God saves you friend reading this, you'll call people brother and sister that you used to think were nothing. When you stand on holy ground, people you used to despise and overlook will be glittering gold in your life.

     Note that the land of Israel is called holy ground. The first place that the word holy is mentioned in the bible refers to the holy ground of Israel. Exodus 3:5 says And He (God) said, Draw not nigh hither (Moses): put off thy shoes from off thy feet; for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. God considers the ground of Israel to be holy and Israel and the Jews need to be respected. 

     After Naaman got healed and saved, Naaman respected the holy ground of Israel and realized that if he took the holy ground of Israel with him to Syria, he would be blessed when he prayed upon Israel's holy ground. God blessed Naaman and healed him of leprosy because Naaman respected the holy ground of Israel. Like Naaman, when anyone respects and blesses Israel and the Jews, God blesses them. God told Abraham at Genesis 12:2 And I will make of thee a great nation (Israel), and I will bless thee, and make thy name great: and thou shalt be a blessing. And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee; and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

     Pictured above is a blessed book that I highly recommend anyone to read by my friend William P. Grady titled Holy Ground The True History Of The State Of Israel. Bill Grady respects the Jews and Israel and has been greatly blessed. Bill Grady told a story where he gave a lot of money to the IDF (the Israeli Defense Forces) and got blessed with free dental work.  God has greatly blessed Bill Grady because he blesses Israel and the Jews and is a great preacher for our Lord Jesus.

     Be like Naaman and respect and bless Israel and Jerusalem so God can heal and prosper you. Remember if you bless the Jews and Israel, you will be blessed. If you curse the Jews and Israel, you will be cursed. Most Jews are atheists and enemies of the gospel but God tells us to love them because they are beloved enemies because of God's covenant to Abraham. 

     Romans 11:28 says As concerning the gospel, they (the Jews) are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. It's a mystery (conundrum) that the Jews are enemies and blessed at the same time. Note that the Jews are blessed for their fathers' (Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob) sake (not for their Father God's sake). God made a covenant with the Jews' father Abraham that he would bless Israel and the Jews above all nations. 

     The Lord Jesus will fulfill His covenant with Abram and establish the boundaries of Israel from the river of Egypt unto the great river Euphrates (including Gaza and the West Bank). Genesis 15:18 explains God's covenant to Abram and the Jews involving a land grant to Israel; In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates. Genesis 17:8 says that this land grant to the Jews is for an everlasting possession; And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.  

     Note that per God's covenant Israel not only owns Gaza and the West Bank. Israel owns all the land from Egypt to the Euphrates river in Iraq including Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait, United Arab Emerites, and Saudi Arabia. Per God's covenant with Abram, the Jews, and Israel, Israel doesn't just occupy this land; Israel owns this land. Therefore when any nation fights against Israel, they fight against God and will lose. Zechariah 12:9 says And it shall come to pass in that day, that I (the Lord Jesus) will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.    

     God will bless you if you bless the Jews, Israel, and Jerusalem. Psalm 122:6 says Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Brother Bob is an orthodox Jew that got saved and is no longer blind about Jesus. Brother Bob left everything (family, money, and all my relatives) because he believed Jesus is God. Right now if anyone is a Jew they will need to accept the Lord Jesus to be saved. Just being Jewish will not save anyone. 

     The rich man in the bible who went to hell for rejecting Jesus was a Jew because in hell he spoke to the Jews' father Abraham requesting Lazarus to save him from his torment in hell. And Korah was a Jew that went to the pit hell for rebelling against Moses. But the Jewish children of Korah (like Brother Bob) went to heaven and did not rebel with their daddy against Moses and God (Jesus). This is proven at Numbers 26:11 that says Notwithstanding the children of Korah died not. And note that Psalms 42-49 are dedicated to the blessed sons of Korah.

     Today the Jews in Israel represent the only nation that has survived from the beginning of time. The Babylonians, Persians, Romans, Greeks, Amalekites, Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites, (and hopefully soon all the mosquito bites) have disappeared and no longer exist. But the Jews in Israel remain a nation today. It's a wonder how just 5 million Jews surrounded by 100 million enemies on all sides can defend Israel. Just take a look at the Jew and Israel and you'll believe the bible and get saved. There has to be a God taking care of little Israel and the Jews. 

     One time 100 Arabs surrounded one little Jew on a sand dune. The Jew said You arabs go away. 10 arabs went to kill the Jew. Then the Jew climbed the sand dune and said You arabs go away. Then the arabs sent reinforcements and 1000 arabs to kill the little Jew. But then one arab climbed the sand dune and said Go back, Go back, There's two of them (God was fighting the battle for the Jews and Israel.)

     When a Jew gets saved, like Brother Bob he is no longer stingy and blesses widows and orphans with money for rent, food, and clothes. My friend Amanda in my church told Brother Bob that Brother Bob was the most generous Jew she ever met. Usually most unsaved Jews know how to make money and are very stingy. Note the following Jewish jokes below: Hope they make you laugh with joy. Remember America is blessed because for many years America has blessed Israel and the Jews.

The teacher gave Hyman the $5 and said "Yes Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the most important person in the history of the world, but Hyman aren't you Jewish?" Hyman replied "Business is business."

     To end up today's bible study, we see a picture of Zacchaeus who like Naaman after he got saved wanted to bless the poor and was no longer selfish. After Naaman got saved and healed, he wanted to bless Elisha with gold, silver, and clothes. Elisha said I don't need new clothes, I don't need any gold, I don't need any silver, just keep your presents. I'm just glad to have God. Elisha told Naaman you just take your gifts on home with you son and live for the Lord. Friend reading this anywhere, a sign to know that you are saved is when you have a desire to bless the poor and no longer be selfish like Zacchaeus and Naaman.

     Pictured above we see Zacchaeus who climbed up a sycomore tree to see Jesus. Zacchaeus was up in a sycomore tree grinning and waiting for Jesus. And Jesus came down the road preaching. All of a sudden, Jesus got underneath that sycomore tree and stopped. And Zacchaeus said, Oh no, He has treed me. Zacchaeus couldn't get down that sycomore tree without going by Jesus. Zacchaeus met Jesus and got saved. I'm so glad that one day in 1982 like Zacchaeus, Jesus treed and saved Brother Bob. I pray in Jesus name that we all can say I've been treed by Jesus and the only way I can be free is to get saved with Jesus by the way of the cross of Calvary.

Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning,

Confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel

That Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again

     Jesus stopped and looked at the sycomore tree and said Zacchaeus come down for to day I must abide at thy house. And Zacchaeus shimmied quickly down that slick bark of that sycomore tree joyfully to be with Jesus. Zacchaeus ran down that sycomore tree quickly when Jesus called and took Jesus home with him. Then Zacchaeus said not 10%, but half of everything I own I'm going to give to the poor, and if I took anything from a man by false accusation, I'll restore him fourfold. Jesus then said This day is salvation come to this house. Note that according to Jesus after a man gets saved, that man will have a desire to bless the poor.

     The story about Zacchaeus pictured above is recorded at Luke 19:2 and says And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. And he sought to see Jesus who He was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see Him: for He was to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. And he made haste, and came down, and received Him joyfully. This is one of the only times where a sinner was looking down at God while God (Jesus) was looking up at a sinner (Zacchaeus).

     Luke 19:8 goes on to say And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
