The Marriage Supper Of The Lamb After Three Come Up Hithers

After The Bride Church Is Raptured
1) The Bema Judgment Seat Will Happen
2) The Bride Church Will Be Married To Jesus
3) The Marriage Supper Will Happen During The Millennium
4) The Great White Throne Judgment Will Occur

Let's learn what happens after the bride church is raptured (caught up) to be with Jesus in the clouds. Right now get saved into the bride church: Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again. Before the appearance of the beast antichrist and the seven year tribulation, the bride church will be raptured out of this wicked world. 2 Thessalonians 2:7 says For the mystery of iniquity (the antichrist) doth already work; only he who now letteth will let (Holy Ghost in saved saints holding back the appearance of the antichrist to start the tribulation), until he be taken out of the way (bride church raptured out of the wicked world). And then shall that Wicked (Antichrist) be revealed. The Antichrist can not appear until the bride church leaves this earth.

While the 7 year tribulation occurs on the earth
The bride church will be in heaven
Getting their wrinkles ironed out of their wedding garments
By fire at the Bema Judgment Seat before Heaven's
Blessed marriage ceremony to the bridegroom (our Lord Jesus).

The first event after the rapture will be all the saved saints appearing before the Bema Judgment Seat of Christ to either receive or lose rewards for their service for the Lord Jesus on the earth. 2 Corinthians 5:10 says For we must all appear before the (Bema) judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 2 Timothy 4:1 says I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom (This Bema Judgment Seat occurs with Jesus' appearance in the clouds during the rapture judging the quick and the dead) (those alive when the rapture occurs and the dead in Christ). Saints will be rewarded for their good deeds and their witnessing on the earth. Saints will suffer loss when they failed to witness Jesus because of selfishness. These saints will not lose their salvation but fire will determine if they receive or lose rewards in heaven.

1 Corinthians 3:13-15 describes what will happen to saints at the Bema Judgment Seat of Christ: Every man's work shall be made manifest; for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: But he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire.

The second event after the rapture will be the marriage between the bride church and the bridegroom Jesus. Jesus uses fire at the Bema Judgment Seat to iron out the spots and wrinkles in the bride church's wedding garment of fine linen. Ephesians 5:25 explains why Jesus has to iron out spots and wrinkles first at the Bema Judgment Seat before the marriage ceremony in heaven: Husbands love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it: That He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word. That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle (removed by fire at the Bema Judgment Seat), or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Revelation 19:7 describes the marriage in heaven between the bride church and the bridegroom Jesus: Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him (Jesus), for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife (the bride church) hath made herself ready (had her spots and wrinkles removed by the fire of the Bema Judgment Seat). And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white; for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

Note that the Bema Judgment Seat Of Christ is different from the Great White Throne Judgment where the unbelievers in Jesus will be cast into the lake of fire for the second death. The bride saved church will also be at the Great White Throne Judgment judging the unbelievers with Jesus because after the rapture 1 Thessalonians 4:17 says the bride church shall ever be with the Lord Jesus. 1 Corinthians 6:2 says Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

Note also that rewards will be given to old testament saints, tribulation saints, and millennial saints at the Great White Throne judgment. These saints are separate (friends of the bridegroom Jesus) and not part of the bride church that was rewarded earlier at the Bema judgment seat of Christ before their marriage to the bridegroom Jesus in heaven. Revelation 11:17-18 describes the rewards given at the Great White Throne judgment. Like the bride church, all saints eventually get rewards.

Now read what happens after the 7th trumpet at Revelation 11:17-18: (Four and Twenty Elders) Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee great power, and hast reigned (notice that Jesus hast reigned and completed the millennium where next we see the Great White Throne judgment). And the nations were angry, and thy wrath (at Armaggedon) is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged (Great White Throne judgment where the unbelievers are cast into the lake of fire), and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets (old testament saints), and to the saints (tribulation saints), and them that fear thy name, small and great (millennial saints), and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

Take time to read a blessed commentary from Peter Ruckman about Revelation 11:17-18. The reign of Jesus is spoken of in past tense at Revelation 11:17, which means that the 24 elders are speaking at the end of the millennium. The nations were angry is a reference to the battle of Armageddon. And the time of the dead that they should be judged is a reference to the Great White Throne judgment where unbelievers are cast into the lake of fire. But, there are also saved people from the old testament, tribulation, and millennium (prophets, saints, and those that fear Jesus' name) at the Great White Throne judgment receiving rewards.

The tribulation saints receiving rewards at the Great White Throne judgment who endured to the end to overcome the beast antichrist are described at Daniel 7:21-22: I beheld, and the same horn (beast antichrist) made war with the (tribulation) saints, and prevailed against them; Until the Ancient of days (Jesus) came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High, and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom (with rewards from the Great White Throne judgment).

Who Will Be At The Marriage Supper Of The Lamb During The Millennium
1) The Bride Church
2) The Bridegroom Jesus
3) Friends Of The Bridegroom-Old Testament, Tribulation, And Millennial Saints

After the marriage ceremony in heaven between the bride church and the bridegroom Jesus, King Jesus invites the bride church, old testament saints, tribulation saints, and millennial saints to the marriage supper of the Lamb during the millennium. This invitation is described at Revelation 19:9 that says And He (Jesus) saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called (defined as invited) unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And He saith unto me, These things are true sayings of God. Note that the marriage supper of the Lamb will not occur in heaven. The marriage supper will occur after the tribulation during the millennium when Jesus is king of the earth for 1000 years. The marriage supper has to be delayed until the millennium to include the friends of the bridegroom (tribulation saints that endured to the end of the tribulation along with old testament and millennial saints). The tribulation saints, old testament saints, and millennial saints are guests that must be included with the bride church before the marriage supper of the Lamb can occur on earth during the millennium.

Luke 12:36 gives instructions to the tribulation saints about enduring to be able to attend the marriage supper of the Lamb on earth during the millennium: And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their Lord (Jesus) when He will return from the wedding (note that the wedding has already occurred in heaven between the bride church and Jesus) (Jesus is returning from the wedding in heaven to the earth; not coming to the earth for a wedding) that when He cometh and knocketh, they may open unto Him immediately. Blessed are those servants whom the Lord when He cometh shall find watching: Verily I say unto you, that He shall gird Himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. Luke 12:40 goes on to say Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of Man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

John the Baptist who was considered an old testament saint before the bride church described the friends of the bridegroom invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb proclaiming that he is a friend of the bridegroom: John 3:29 says He that hath the bride (church) is the bridegroom (Jesus): but the friend of the bridegroom (John the Baptist, old testament saints, tribulation saints, and millennial saints), which standeth and heareth Him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. Therefore bridegroom Jesus sends out the invitations for the marriage supper of the Lamb from heaven and celebrates the marriage supper of the Lamb on earth during the millennium with the bride church and the friends of the bridegroom who are the old testament saints, tribulation saints, and millennial saints.

The Marriage Supper Of The Lamb Occurs After Three Come Up Hithers
Come Up Hither Occurs Three Times In The Bible
1) Firstfruits-Resurrection of 144000 Old Testament Jewish Saints
2) Harvest-Resurrection Of The Bride Church
3) Gleanings-Resurrection Of Old Testament And Tribulation Saints
4) Millennial Saints Receive Their Glorified Bodies At The Millennium's End
The Above Four Resurrections Are Called The First Resurrection

Four resurrections are noted in the Word of God. 1 Corinthians 15:22-24 describes these four resurrections: For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ (Jesus is the first to be resurrected), the firstfruits (144000 resurrected Jewish saints who return to earth from heaven during the tribulation) Revelation 14:4 says These 144000 were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. After Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected, Matthew 27:52 says And the graves were opened, and many bodies of the saints (only the firstfruits who are the144000 Jewish saints and not all the old testament saints) which slept arose. And (the 144000 old testament Jewish saints) came out of the graves after His (Jesus') resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. 1 Corinthians 15:23 continues to say afterward they that are Christ's at His coming (the resurrected harvest or bride church at the rapture). Then cometh the end (the resurrection of old testament and tribulation saints called the gleanings), when He (Jesus) shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when He shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

The phrase "Come up hither" appears three times in the bible describing the above noted three resurrections. God's Word tells us about three "Come up hithers" that describe the resurrections of the 144000 Jewish old testament saints, the bride church, the old testament saints, and the tribulation saints. The first "Come up hither" describing the 144000 Jewish old testament saints resurrecting first is at Proverbs 25:7: For better it is that it be said unto thee Come up hither, than that thou shouldst be put lower in the presence of the prince whom thine eyes have seen.

The second "Come up hither" describing the rapture of the bride church occurs at Revelation 4:1 that says After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven, and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. Friends the saints are not going through the tribulation. The first three chapters of the book of Revelation mention the church many times. But after Revelation 4:1 (written to John called beloved who represents the church) the church is not mentioned again during the tribulation until the church returns with Jesus to end the tribulation at Revelation 19:11. Also two doors are opened in the book of Revelation. First at Revelation 4:1 noted above where the church gets raptured out of this world through an open door. Then the church returns from heaven's door at Revelation 19:11 on white horses with Jesus to defeat the beast and false prophet.

The third "Come up hither" describing the rapture of the old testament and tribulation saints represented by the two witnesses (Moses and Elijah) occurs at Revelation 11:12: And they (Moses and Elijah) heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. The rapture of the old testament and tribulation saints by the reaper angels like wheat gathered into a barn separated from the tares is described at the following two scriptures: Matthew 24:31 says And He (Jesus) shall send His angels (the reapers) with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect (old testament and tribulation saints) from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Matthew 13:30 says Let both grow together (wheat and tares) until the harvest (rapture of the old testament and tribulation saints): and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers (angels), Gather ye together first the tares (people that rejected Jesus), and bind them in bundles to burn them (in the lake of fire): but gather the wheat (old testament and tribulation saints) into my barn (storehouse in heaven).

Revelation 14:14-16 also describes the rapture of the old testament and tribulation saints that is different from the earlier rapture of the bride church. And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man (Jesus), having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him that sat on the cloud. Thrust in thy sickle, and reap; for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. And He that sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped. When Jesus thrusts in His sickle the reaper angels will gather the old testament and tribulation saints up to heaven to join the bride church army of God.

Revelation 14:17-20 says And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven; he also having a sharp sickle. And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for her grapes are fully ripe. And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

To summarize Revelation 14:14-20, after the first rapture of the bride church that gets caught up to the clouds to meet Jesus, before Jesus touches the Mount of Olives on this earth, Jesus will again appear upon a cloud with a golden crown using a sharp sickle for a second rapture by angels who gather the old testament and tribulation saints to join the bride church army in heaven. Next two other angels will reap the tares (bind all those that rejected Jesus into bundles and use fire to burn them in the lake of fire). At the battle of Armegeddon Jesus will return to earth after touching the Mount of Olives with his army (the bride church, old testament saints, and the tribulation saints) to cast the beast antichrist and the false prophet into the lake of fire alive. Jesus will return as the Lion of the tribe of Judah to rule and reign with a rod of iron on this earth for 1000 years, trampling those that rejected Jesus like a winepress where the blood will be unto the horse bridles for 200 miles that is 1600 furlongs.

Daniel 12:1-2 describes the resurrection of the old testament saints (separate and after the bride church's earlier resurrection at the rapture) that occurs with the tribulation saints' resurrection at the end of the tribulation: And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time (the great 7 year tribulation): and at that time thy people (old testament and tribulation saints) shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

The resurrection of the millennial saints at the end of the millennium is described at Revelation 20:4-5 that says And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years (resurrected tribulation saints). But the rest of the dead (millennial saints) lived not again until the thousand years were finished (resurrection of the millennial saints at the end of the millennium). This is the first resurrection (old testament, church, tribulation, and millennial saints).

Revelation 20:6 goes on to say Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. Hallelujah, saved saints in the church are kings and priests with Jesus that will rule and reign with Jesus over cities during the millennium and forever in the kingdom of God. Revelation 1:6 tells us that Jesus has made christians in the church kings and priests unto God and His Father, to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

A Story About A Man Who Thought He Could Take His Money In The Attic
With Him To Heaven

A man once said that I'm going to put all my money in the attic so that when I die or if I live to see the rapture, I'm going to get the money on the way up. After this man died, his family went up to the attic to see if the man took his money with him to heaven. After the family found the man's money in his safe, the family said How sad, He went the other way. He should have put his money in the basement.

After A Victory Keep Looking To Jesus And Resisting The Devil

After a victory keep looking to Jesus and resisting the devil. Don't let your guard down after a victory enjoying sinful worldly pleasures while you ignore the devil. Instead determine today to constantly abide with Jesus at all times especially after any victory. Stay on the mountaintop with Jesus and fight the devil even more after a victory. Strive every day to obey Psalm 34:1 saying I will bless the Lord at all times (after any victory and after any loss); His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Also after a loss where grieving occurs while a person remembers the past good times of a deceased relative, one needs to stop dwelling on the past and live for the present by looking to Jesus and His Word. Philippians 3:13 says Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Remember if you abide by constantly looking every day to Jesus crucified and His Word you will get all your prayers answered according to John 15:7: Jesus said If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Remember the advice of Hebrews 12:2 after a victory that says Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him that endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

Don't Be Like Noah Who Stopped Looking To The Lord Jesus After A Victory

After Noah got a great victory by surviving the flood, he stopped looking to the Lord Jesus and got drunk during a sinful celebration. The result was that Ham's son Canaan got cursed when Ham failed to cover Noah's nakedness. Genesis 9:20 says And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard. And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent. And Ham, the father of Canaan saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.

Genesis 9:23 goes on to say And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father, and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness. And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son (Ham) had done unto him. And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

Noah had a great victory after the flood when he realized that his family owned the entire world. Noah didn't just own a little house with a front and back yard; Noah owned the entire world. Noah forgot about the Lord Jesus and because of his sinful drunkenness, Canaan got cursed. Remember the time to be very careful while you keep looking to Jesus and resisting the devil is the day following a great victory.

Don't be like Noah who got drunk and naked the day following a great victory. Don't become overconfident after a victory thinking you can conquer anything by yourself without Jesus. 1 Corinthians 10:12 says Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. Remember without Jesus we can do nothing. Therefore after any victory keep looking to Jesus and His Word. Jesus said at John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches; He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing: If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Don't Be Like Elijah Who Stopped Looking To The Lord Jesus After A Victory

After Elijah had a great victory by defeating 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of the groves (1 Kings 18:19), he stopped looking to Jesus and resisting the devil and ran from just 1 woman (the witch Jezebel), wanting to die under a juniper tree. 1 Kings 19:1 says And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword. Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time. And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there. But himself went a day's journey into the wilderness and came and sat down under a juniper tree; and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.

Remember the time to be very careful and keep resisting the devil is the day following a great victory. Note that the day following Elijah's great victory over the prophets of Baal and the groves, Elijah went a days journey into the wilderness, wanting to die while fleeing from the witch Jezebel. After a great victory, don't be like Elijah; Instead always keep resisting and fighting the devil. James 4:7 says Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Remember Paul's advice at 2 Timothy 2:3: Thou therefore endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please Him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

Don't Be Like Amaziah Who Stopped Looking To The Lord Jesus After A Victory

After Amaziah had a great victory over the Edomites and the children of Seir, Amaziah stopped looking to the Lord Jesus and started worshipping the gods of the children of Seir. At first Amaziah obeyed a man of God's request to send home 100000 mighty men of valour out of Israel and just use soldiers from Judah and Benjamin to fight the Edomites. God did not want Amaziah to use the soldiers from Israel that worshipped idols at Dan and Bethel. These soldiers of Israel were angry that they were not allowed to fight the Edomites.

Because Amaziah obeyed God and did not rely on the sinful soldiers from Israel, God gave Amaziah a great victory over the Edomites. But the day following Amaziah's great victory, Amaziah stopped looking to Jesus and resisting the devil; Amaziah chose to worship the gods of the children of Seir instead of the Lord Jesus. This allowed the angry soldiers of Israel to conquer the cities of Judah and create a loss for Amaziah. Don't be like Amaziah after a great victory. Keep fighting the good fight of faith where you always resist the devil. 1 Peter 5:8 tells us Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

2 Chronicles 25:11 speaks about Amaziah: And Amaziah strengthened himself, and led forth his people, and went to the valley of salt, and smote of the children of Seir ten thousand. 2 Chronicles 25:13 says But the soldiers of the army (of Israel) which Amaziah sent back, that they should not go with him to battle, fell upon the cities of Judah, from Samaria even unto Beth-horon, and smote three thousand of them, and took much spoil. Now it came to pass, after that Amaziah was come from the slaughter of the Edomites, that he brought the gods of the children of Seir, and set them up to be his gods, and bowed down himself before them, and burned incense unto them. Wherefore the anger of the Lord was kindled against Amaziah, and he sent unto him a prophet, which said unto him, Why hast thou sought after the gods of the people, which could not deliver their own people out of thine hand.

Don't Be Like David Who Stopped Looking To The Lord Jesus After A Victory

After David had a great victory and became King, David stayed home, rested, and committed the sin of adultery with Bathsheba instead of going forth to battle. The day following David's victory, David stopped resisting the devil and sinned. After Bathsheba became pregnant, David had Bathsheba's husband Uriah murdered. Even though David repented, David suffered fourfold vengeance and lost four sons (Bathsheba's first baby, Amnon, Absalom, and Adonijah). Don't be like David after a victory; Obey 1 Timothy 6:12: Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

The story about David's sin after a great victory is at 2 Samuel 11:1: And it came to pass after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent to Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel, and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and beseiged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem (David sinned instead of fighting the battle against the devil). And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon. David committed adultery, got Bathsheba pregnant, and had Bathsheba's husband Uriah murdered.

Don't be like David and get tired of fighting the battle against the devil. Keep fighting the good fight of faith. Galatians 6:9 says And let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Note that the way to reap your blessings and faint not is to keep praying. Jesus said at Luke 18:1 that men ought always to pray, and not to faint. If you keep praying for others, you won't faint and God will heal you. James 5:16 says Pray one for another, that ye may be healed. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says Pray without ceasing.

Don't Be Like Moses Who Stopped Looking To The Lord Jesus After A Victory

After Moses had a great victory where he led the children of Israel out of Egypt and across the Red Sea, Moses sinned by pleasing the people instead of pleasing God. First God told Moses to smite the Rock (that is Jesus according to 1 Corinthians 10:4) to produce water for the people; Then God told Moses a second time to speak to the Rock (not smite the Rock). Moses disobeyed God and smote the Rock twice to produce water for the people. Jesus the Rock only had to be smitten once (not twice) on the cross of Calvary for our sins. Hebrews 10:12 says But this man (Jesus), after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God. From henceforth expecting till His enemies be made His footstool. For by one offering He hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Psalm 106:32 speaks about Moses' sin after his great victory. Because Moses sinned by smiting the Rock twice, Moses was not allowed to enter into the promised land. The scripture says They angered him (Moses) at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes. because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.

Don't Be Like Moses And A Man Pleaser Instead Of A God Pleaser
Keep Your Eyes On Jesus And Off The People

Don't Be Like Herod Who Stopped Looking To The Lord Jesus After A Victory

After Herod exalted his proud arrogant self to victory proclaiming himself to be a god, an angel of the Lord smote Herod. Acts 12:21 says And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. And the people gave a shout saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory; and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

Don't be proud like Herod and be defeated by the devil. Proverbs 16:18 says Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 29:23 says A man's pride shall bring him low, but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. Instead stay humble and always glorify Jesus and not yourself. James 4:6 says But He (Jesus) giveth more grace. Wherefore He saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. James 4:10 says Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.

Don't be like proud Herod seeking the temporary praise of men. Instead be like John the Baptist and say John 3:30 He (Jesus) must increase, but I must decrease. If people start lifting you up, tell them don't lift me up, Lift up Jesus. Beware of flattery. Proverbs 29:5 tells us A man that flattereth his neighbor spreadeth a net for his feet. An eternal reward for serving Jesus is better than the temporary pleasure from a pat on the back from a flatterer.

If everyone is bragging about a person instead of Jesus, something is wrong. Luke 6:26 says Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you. for so did their fathers to the false prophets. But Luke 6:22 says Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. 1 Peter 4:14 says If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; For the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you; on their part He is evil spoken of, but on your part He is glorified.

Don't Be Proud After A Victory Thinking You Can Defeat The Devil By Yourself

After a victory don't ever think that you can defeat the devil by yourself. We need our brothers and sisters in the Lord to help us fight the devil. Romans 14:7 says For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. Keep attending church and prayer meetings to defeat the devil. Christians are designed for fellowship where two people have ten times more power against the devil than one person. Deuteronomy 32:30 says How should one chase 1000, and two put 10000 to flight, except their rock (the devil) had sold them, and the Lord had shut them up; For their rock (the devil) is not as our Rock (Jesus); even our enemies themselves being judges.

One ant can push a crumb; But ten ants can push the crumb better. Don't be an island all by yourself. Keep attending church and fellowshipping to get the victory over the devil. Ecclesiastes 4:9 says Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again if two lie together, then they have heat; but how can one be warm alone. And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him, and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
