Why Christians Are Peculiar To The World

Why Christians Are Peculiar To The World
1) Christians Have A Peculiar Birth

First christians are peculiar to the world because they have a peculiar birth. A sinner becomes a christian and born again by choice. No one has a choice about his first physical birth. Brother Bob does not remember when he came out of his mother's womb on July 21, 1962. But Brother Bob remembers when he got saved and born again on June 2, 1983 after he saw his father survive from drowning on a canoe; The next day when my dad said Jesus is real, Brother Bob accepted Jesus as His Lord and has preached Jesus for 41 years. Accepting Jesus as my Lord was the best decision Brother Bob ever made during his life.

Like Brother Bob all christians have a peculiar birth by choice that they remember unlike their physical birth that is not remembered. Christians remember when they got saved, where they got saved, how they got saved, and why they got saved. The reason sinners get saved is to escape the everlasting torment of hell fire. Right now make a choice to get saved and receive peace with our Lord Jesus. Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe in your heart the gospel that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again.

1 Peter 2:9 tells us that christians are peculiar to the world saying But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praise of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light. Getting born again with Jesus is a choice made by sinners that is peculiar to the world. John 1:12 speaks about a christian's peculiar birth by choice saying But as many as received Him (Jesus), to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Here are some more scriptures that speak about a christian's peculiar birth by choice. Romans 10:13 says For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. John 6:37 says All that the Father giveth me shall come to me and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. People can reject and cast you out, but Jesus will never cast out anyone that comes to Him by faith. Finally Joshua 24:15 speaks about the christian's peculiar birth by choice saying And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; Whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land ye dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

And Sing The Words Below For The Song
I've Had A Birth I Can't Remember And One I Can't Forget

When I came into this old world; I just can't recall
I don't remember anything about my birth at all

But one night down on my knees in prayer; Oh I never will regret
I've had a birth I can't remember and one I can't forget

Unto the world it made no difference; Some even frowned
But the angels rejoiced when my name was written down

Unworthy of His mercy; Still He paid my debt
I've had a birth I can't remember and one I can't forget

It never made the morning paper; It never made the evening news
When I took off this old man and I put on the new
My sins were cast into forgetfulness far as east is from the west
I've had a birth I can't remember and one I can't forget

Why Christians Are Peculiar To The World
2) Christians Have A Peculiar Book

Second christians are peculiar to the world because they have a peculiar book called the 1611 King James (KJV) bible. The KJV bible is peculiar because it's absolutely perfect with no mistakes. The 1611 KJV bible is God's infallible, inerrant, inspired, indestructable, perfect, and preserved Word of God without one contradiction, mistake, or error in it described by Psalm 19:7; The law of the Lord (KJV bible) is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. Proverbs 30:5-6 tells us Every Word of God is pure; He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him; Add thou not unto His words, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Like the girl pictured above, if you read your KJV bible before people in a restaurant or carry your KJV bible for all to see at Walmart, Target, or any downtown crowded city street, you'll learn quickly why the KJV bible is peculiar; You're guaranteed to get some stares and glares; People won't pay attention to anyone carrying a newspaper downtown, but they'll notice you carrying a KJV bible. It's good to carry a KJV bible but just the anointing on a man's life will get him noticed. Proverbs 18:16 says A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. Peter and John's anointing made room for them and got them noticed; Acts 4:13 says Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

The KJV bible (that is the Lord Jesus) is peculiar because it never changes and lasts forever. The Lord Jesus said at Malachi 3:6 For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. Jesus said at Luke 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away; but my words shall not pass away.

The KJV bible is peculiar because it's alive and gives life. Hebrews 4:12 says For the Word of God is quick (alive) and powerful and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Jesus said at John 6:63 It is the Spirit that quickeneth, the flesh profiteth nothing; the words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit and they are life. Choose to daily read and memorize the KJV bible because it is the only book that has survived from the beginning of time and will remain forever in God's kingdom.

Psalm 12:6 says The words of the Lord are pure words, as silver tried in a furnace of earth; purified seven times; Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. The 1611 KJV bible is peculiar because it's the seventh perfect translation that God will keep and preserve from this generation forever. There were six prior bibles (Hebrew, Syriac, Aramaic, Greek, Latin, and German) before the perfect seventh English KJV bible; There were six prior English bibles (Tyndale, Matthew, Coverdale, Geneva, Bishops, Great Bible) before the perfect seventh English KJV bible. Any other subsequent bible translation after the 1611 KJV bible is flawed and not perfect. The Philadelphia church that existed when the 1611 KJV bible was created kept and preserved the KJV bible according to Revelation 3:10; Because thou hast kept the Word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

The KJV bible is peculiar because it records history before it happens. The man of God at 1 Kings 13:1-3 spoke about Josiah before Josiah was born. The man of God said at 1 Kings 13:2 Behold a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men's bones shall be burnt upon thee. Outside of Jesus, Josiah is the greatest king to ever live on this earth. 2 Kings 23:25 says And like unto him (Josiah) was there no king before him, that turned to the Lord with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses, neither after him arose there any like him. As the man of God predicted, Josiah was born, became king, and burned down idols while he stopped sodomy same sex marriage and condemned the innocent killing of babies (abortion in our modern society).

Isaiah in the KJV bible spoke about Cyrus before Cyrus was born. During the Babylonian captivity Isaiah said a man named Cyrus would free the Jews from Babylonian captivity and allow the Jews to return to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple. This occurred after Babylonian king Belshazzar drank wine from the golden vessels of the temple. After Belshazzar saw the writing on the wall Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin, the kingdom of Babylon was divided and given to Cyrus of the Medes and Persians. Then Cyrus allowed the Jews to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the temple. Isaiah accurately spoke about Cyrus hundreds of years earlier at Isaiah 44:28-Isaiah 45:1-7.

The KJV bible is peculiar because it declares that man is sinful and only the Lord Jesus is perfect. This is peculiar because an arrogant proud man would not declare that man is sinful. But many KJV bible verses declare that man is sinful needing a Saviour named Jesus for salvation. Isaiah 64:6 says But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. Ecclesiastes 7:20 says There is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good and sinneth not. DL Moody said I've never met a man that gave me more trouble than myself. Every morning when you look in the mirror at yourself say Now what are you up to today.

Here are some more scriptures that declare man to be sinful from the peculiar KJV bible. Psalm 39:5 says Behold thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee; verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity; Selah. Romans 3:10 says There is none righteous, no, not one. There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way; they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Romans 3:23 says For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

Why Christians Are Peculiar To The World
3) Christians Have Peculiar Behavior

Third christians are peculiar to the world because they have peculiar behavior. After salvation 2 Corinthians 7:1 says Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. Titus 2:12 says Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world,; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.

Christians need to be examples of holiness to lost sinners to win souls to Jesus. Christians are the only example of Jesus anyone ever sees. 2 Corinthians 3:2 says Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men. Ephesians 4:29 says Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. In other words, christians shouldn't cuss, drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes and pot, fornicate, and gossip. Christians should be peculiar to the world with behavior that shows no bitterness or envy. Christians should daily practice Matthew 5:16; Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Christians have peculiar behavior. They don't act like the world, dress like the world, or look like the world. If you get your thrills from the world, you are walking away from Jesus. If the world rejects you, you are getting closer to Jesus. James 4:4 says Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. It's easy to flow downstream with the ungodly world's current. Instead, go upstream against the world's current and live for Jesus daily.

Why Christians Are Peculiar To The World
4) Christians Fight A Peculiar Battle

Fourth christians are peculiar to the world because they fight a peculiar battle. Christians use unusual weapons to fight the devil. Christians' weapons are not guns, knives, hand grenades, or fists. The weapons christians use to fight the devil are the blood of Jesus, the name of Jesus, prayer, and the Word of God. Christians fight a spiritual warfare with spiritual weapons (not physical weapons). 2 Corinthians 10:3 says For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Ephesians 6:12 says For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The most powerful weapon against the devil is the blood of Jesus. Revelation 12:11 says And they overcame him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb and by the Word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Every day say in Jesus name send the angels to bind the devil around me and send him to the pit; Then by faith say in Jesus name have the angels of God send the blood of Jesus over my home, car, job, and wherever I travel each day. The blood of Jesus that is the same yesterday, to day, and for ever (Hebrews 13:8) is a fence of protection that keeps the devil away from christians.

Be a good soldier for Jesus daily and fight the good fight of faith. 2 Timothy 2:3 says Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please Him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. Obey James 4:7; Submit yourselves therefore to God; Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Rejoice and say Proverbs 28:1; The wicked flee when no man pursueth; but the righeous are bold as a lion. Use the name of Jesus to cast out devils. Mark 16:17 says And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name (Jesus) shall they cast out devils.

Why Christians Are Peculiar To The World
5) Christians Receive Peculiar Blessings

Fifth christians are peculiar to the world because they receive peculiar blessings. Proverbs 10:22 says The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it. Proverbs 28:20 says A faithful man shall abound with blessings, but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent. Rejoice and claim the blessing promised by Ephesians 3:20: Now unto Him (Jesus) that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

I conclude this bible study today by saying christians might be peculiar to the world but christians are precious treasures and jewels to God. The Lord Jesus said at Malachi 3:17 And they (christians) shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts; In that day when I make up my jewels, and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

I pray in Jesus name that this bible study blesses multitudes all over this earth with great joy, peace, and strength.
