The Unsearchable Riches Of Jesus

The Unsearchable Riches Of Jesus
Inspired After Reading Thomas Brooks (1608-1680)
The Unsearchable Riches Of Christ At The Link Below

Like Paul I'm going to preach about the unsearchable riches of Jesus Christ. Paul said at Ephesians 3:8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ. I'm not preaching about myself; I'm preaching about Jesus and His unsearchable riches. Everything you need is with Jesus; Keep your eyes on Jesus and off the people. Colossians 1:27 tells us that if you have Jesus, you have great riches and everything you need to succeed in life. To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you the hope of glory.

Right now choose Jesus and his unsearchable riches of eternal life, peace, and joy. Get saved; repent and decide to stop sinning; confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again. Then you can proclaim Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. And if you daily deny sin and live for Jesus you can ask for anything in Jesus name and it will be done. Jesus said at John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, He may give it you.

Three Examples Of How To Find The Unsearchable Riches Of Jesus
Stated By Thomas Brooks And John Henry Jowett (1864-1923)

First Thomas Brooks said finding the unsearchable riches of Jesus is like a miner searching for gold. The miner pictured above searching for gold will discover that with Jesus there is gold stretching out everywhere overwhelming him with everlasting joy. In heaven with Jesus, the gold with Jesus is better than infinite amounts of gold on this fading earth. In heaven with Jesus, saints won't just own gold; they'll be walking on gold stated at Revelation 21:21 (on a street of pure gold transparent glass living forever in a city of pure gold clear glass jasper stated at Revelation 21:18).

The foundations of the wall of the beautiful heavenly city displaying the 12 names of the apostles (Peter, James, John, Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthias, James of Alphaeus, Simon the Canaanite, Thomas, Matthew, and Lebbaeus whose surname was Thaddaeus) will be garnished with precious gemstones (sardius, sardonyx, jasper, diamond, chrysolyte, topaz, beryl, carbuncle, chrysoprasus, emerald, chalcedony, sapphire, agate, jacinth, ligure, and amethyst) forming a beautiful rainbow that encircles the heavenly city. Finally there will be 12 gates with a pearl and angel in each gate displaying the names of the 12 tribes listed at Revelation 7:5-8 (Reuben, Simeon, Judah, Levi, Manasseh, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Zebulun, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin; note that Dan and Ephraim were removed from the 12 tribes for worshipping idols).

Next John Henry Jowett described the unsearchable riches of Jesus like beautiful heather flowers growing on a moor field in Scotland pictured above. Mr. Jowett said that finding the unsearchable riches of Jesus is like a little child gathering heather flowers at the edge of a moor field who lifts up her eyes and catches sight of the purple glory of a boundless moor with infinite heather.

Finally Thomas Brooks said finding the unsearchable riches of Jesus is like a man walking around the edge of a beautiful lake who when the circuit was almost completed discovers that it was not just a lake but the arm of a vast ocean leading to an immeasurable pure river of water of life in heaven. John described the pure river in heaven at Revelation 22:1 And He shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal; proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. Someone once said that the foam on an ocean beach is what little we now understand about Jesus; But the vast water of all the oceans on earth beyond our sight displays the unsearchable riches of Jesus.

Remember with Jesus you will not get bored. The wisdom and riches with Jesus are unsearchable with new blessings always to discover forever and ever. Ephesians 3:20 promises Now unto Him (Jesus) that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Friends when you have Jesus with His unsearchable riches you have everything you need. Philippians 4:19 promises But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.   And Ephesians 1:7 proclaims about Jesus, In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

When I get to heaven, Brother Bob wants to be a librarian for Jesus. This is because John 21:25 says And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen. Friends you won't get bored in heaven when you read the infinite books about Jesus and his miracles. The KJV bible is just a microscopic account about Jesus; but there are many other infinite records of Jesus' miracles and blessings recorded in heaven's books for saints to discover. What a joy to be Jesus' librarian and read and tell saints in heaven about the miracles recorded in the infinite books about our Lord Jesus.

The Unsearchable Riches Of Jesus Are Better Than Anything On This Earth
Be Like The Wise Merchant Who Left Everything To Gain Jesus' Riches
Choose The Gleanings Of Jesus' Riches
Instead Of The Fading Vintage Of The World

Be like the wise merchant who sold everything to buy Jesus (the pearl of great price) by faith without money and without price. The parable of the wise merchant is stated at Matthew 13:45 that says Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls; Who, when he had found one pearl of great price (Jesus) went and sold all that he had, and bought it (by faith without money and without price). Like this wise merchant man choose to accept by faith Jesus' free offer of unsearchable riches that are better than anything on this earth.

Jesus is telling everyone at Isaiah 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Be like Brother Bob who left the fading riches on this earth of millions of dollars from his Jewish relatives and chose the unsearchable riches of Jesus, rejoicing that preachbrotherbob blog has reached half a million people everywhere with untold numbers of people getting saved for our Lord Jesus.

Thomas Brooks further described the unsearchable riches of Jesus when he said one tiny grain of Jesus' grace is far beyond all the gold and billions of dollars on this earth. To elaborate about this saying Thomas Brooks quoted Gideon who said at Judges 8:2 Is not the gleaning (leftover small portion) of grapes of Ephraim better than the vintage (best and finest wines) of Abiezer? In other words the gleanings and smallest gatherings of the unsearchable riches of Jesus are more ravishing and excellent than all the best riches of this fading world. I agree with Psalm 84:10 that says For a day in thy courts (Lord Jesus) is better than a thousand; I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Quotes From Thomas Brooks Describing The Unsearchable Riches Of Jesus

1) God Is A Sphere Whose Center is Everywhere
And Whose Circumference Is Nowhere

Wow what a quote from Thomas Brooks about the unsearchable riches of Jesus; "God is a sphere whose center is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere." King Solomon described this blessed quote at 1 Kings 8:27 that says But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded. Jeremiah described this blessed quote at Jeremiah 23:24 that quotes God saying Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord.

2) The Lord Jesus Is Neither Shut Up In Any Place Or Shut Out Of Any Place

Another amazing quote about the unsearchable riches of Jesus stated by Thomas Brooks was "The Lord Jesus is neither shut up in any place or shut out of any place." King David described this blessed quote at Psalm 139:7 that says Whither shall I go from thy Spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there; if I make my bed in hell, behold thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

The Unsearchable Riches Of Jesus
Are Better Than The Fading Riches Of This World

The unsearchable riches of Jesus are better than the fading riches of this world. King Solomon explained how Jesus who is wisdom is better than anything in this world at Proverbs 3:13. Happy is the man that findeth wisdom (that is Jesus at 1 Corinthians 1:30) and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver and the gain thereof than fine gold; She is more precious than rubies and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

King Cyrus wrote about a man named Pheraulus who valued the unsearchable riches of Jesus greater than the wealth of Cyrus. The story about Pheraulus can be found in the greek historian Xenophon's book called the Cyropaedia that records the moral sayings of Cyrus the Great. Pheraulus was a poor man that received much gold and wealth from Cyrus. Being wearied out with care in keeping the riches, Pheraulus desired rather to live quietly though poor as he had done before than to possess abundant riches with misery. Pheraulus gave away all his wealth to fatherless orphans and widows in their affliction realizing that when he blessed the poor he obtained treasure that lasts forever in heaven with Jesus (Mark 10:21). Like Pheraulus remember 1 Timothy 6:6 that says But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

The Unsearchable Riches Of Jesus
Satisfy And Give A Permanent Durable Blessing Forever

Like Philip say John 14:8 Lord, shew us the Father (with Jesus' unsearchable riches) and it sufficeth (satisfies) us. In other words, only faith in Jesus and His unsearchable riches satisfies; earthly riches don't satisfy proven by Ecclesiastes 5:10 that says He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase; this is also vanity.

Earthly riches are uncertain and don't last. Paul explained this at 1 Timothy 6:17 that says Charge them that are rich in this world that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy. On the other hand the unsearchable riches of Jesus are durable, permanent, and last forever. King Solomon explained this at Proverbs 8:18 that says Riches and honour are with me (wisdom and Jesus); yea durable (permanent) riches and righteousness.

And Sing The Words Below For Fanny Crosby's Blessed Hymn
The Unsearchable Riches Of Christ

O the unsearchable riches of Christ; Wealth that can never be told
Riches exhaustless of mercy and grace; Precious more precious than gold

Precious more precious; Wealth that can never be told
O the unsearchable riches of Christ; Precious more precious than gold

O the unsearchable riches of Christ; Who shall their greatness declare
Jewels whose luster our lives may adorn; Pearls that the poorest may wear

O the unsearchable riches of Christ; Freely how freely they flow
Making the souls of the faithful and true; Happy wherever they go

O the unsearchable riches of Christ; Who would not gladly endure
Trials, afflictions, and crosses on earth; Riches like these to secure

And Sing The Words Below For James Deck's Blessed Hymn From 1842
O Lamb Of God, Still Keep Me

O Lamb of God, still keep me; Near to thy wounded side
Tis only there in safety; And peace I can abide

What foes and snares surround me; What lusts and fears within
The grace that sought and found me; Alone can keep me clean

Tis only in thee hiding; I feel my life secure
Only in thee abiding; The conflict can endure

Thine arm the victory gaineth; Oer every hateful foe
Thy love my heart sustaineth; In all its care and woe

Soon shall my eyes behold thee; With rapture face to face
One half hath not been told me; Of all thy power and grace

Thy beauty Lord and glory; The wonders of thy love
Shall be the endless story; Of all the saints above
