You Must Be Lost To Get Saved
To get saved everyone must first realize that they are lost and need the Lord Jesus to save them. Luke 19:10 tells us For the Son of man (Jesus) is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Romans 3:23 says For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. And Isaiah 64:6 tells us But we are all as an unclean thing and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. Psalm 39:5 tells us verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. And finally Ecclesiastes 7:20 says For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.
Therefore everyone must admit that they are lost sinners needing Jesus to get saved. Jesus told us at Luke 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. We must realize that only faith in the Lord Jesus can save anyone. Every person that lived on this earth except Jesus was born in sin. Psalm 58:3 says The wicked are estranged from the womb; they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. But even though we were all born as lost sinners, God loved us and sent Jesus to save us from our sins. Acts 4:12 proclaims Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name (Jesus) under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Now for the good news; Learn how to be blessed and get saved even though we are born lost sinners at Ephesians 2:4. This blessed scripture says But God who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace are ye saved). And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Accept Jesus and get saved; Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again.
To Get Saved
You Do The Coming
Jesus Does The Saving
It's easy to get saved. You do the coming and Jesus does the saving according to several bible verses. Just come to Jesus confessing your sins, making a decision to stop sinning, and let the Lord Jesus do the saving. All we have to do after we come to Jesus, is trust Jesus to save us. Jesus said at Matthew 11:28 Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. In other words, You do the coming and Jesus does the saving. Jesus said at John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. In other words, You do the coming and Jesus does the saving. Finally Hebrews 7:25 says Wherefore He (Jesus) is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him (Jesus) seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them. In other words, You do the coming and Jesus does the saving.
Therefore all it takes is faith in the Lord Jesus to get saved and become a child of God. This is proven by Galatians 3:26 that says For ye are all children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. And the Lord Jesus told us at Isaiah 45:22 Look unto me and be ye saved all the ends of the earth, for I am God, and there is none else. Simply stated, without Jesus we are helpless and can't get saved. This was proven when Jesus said at John 15:5 I am the vine; Ye are the branches; He that abideth in me and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit for without me ye can do nothing.
Unfortunately, many people reject Jesus and don't get saved. Jesus told us that this would happen at John 5:40 when He said And ye will not come to me that ye might have life. Then Jesus prophesied at Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Two Reasons Why People Don't Get Saved
1) People Remain Neutral And Fail To Choose Or Reject Jesus
The first reason why people don't get saved is because they remain neutral and fail to choose or reject Jesus. In other words they are lukewarm and refuse to be either hot or cold. Jesus rejects lukewarm neutral people. Jesus said at Revelation 3:15-16 I know thy works that thou art neither cold nor hot, I would thou wert cold or hot; So then because thou art lukewarm (neutral) and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Note the following example of a lukewarm person. This person goes to the grocery store and has to decide whether to purchase Jif or Skippy peanut butter. While he is pondering whether to choose Jif or Skippy he's neutral and hasn't made a decision which amounts to a rejection. The same thing happens when someone is neutral and refuses to make a decision whether to accept or reject Jesus. While they are pondering whether to accept or reject Jesus they are neutral which amounts to a rejection and loss of salvation.
Don't be a lukewarm neutral person rejecting Jesus. Instead accept Jesus as Lord and trust Jesus to save your soul. Revelation 22:17 tells us And the Spirit and the bride say Come. And let him that heareth say, come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. Don't be neutral and put off trusting Jesus for salvation. Right now is the time to get saved before it's too late if you are reading this. God says at 2 Corinthians 6:2 I have heard thee in a time accepted; and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee; behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
Two Reasons Why People Don't Get Saved
2) People Trust In Their Own Good Works Instead Of Jesus For Salvation
The second reason why people don't get saved is because they trust in their own good works instead of Jesus for salvation. Our good works won't save us; Only faith in Jesus can save us. Galatians 2:20 says I do not frustrate the grace of God, for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. If our good works under the law saved us then Jesus' death on the cross wouldn't matter. But Titus 3:5 says Not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost. 2 Timothy 1:9 says (Jesus) Who hath saved us and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. And finally Ephesians 2:8-9 says For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Simply stated; Joining a church, getting baptized, being a good person, being a good parent, turning over a new leaf, or doing the best you can won't save you. Only trusting in Jesus as your Lord and Saviour can save you. In other words just because I walk down an aisle, shake a six foot spiritual icicle's hand, answer some questions, do some good works, get dunked in the pool and blend in with the crowd that won't save me. Remember just because someone attends church every Sunday won't save them. If I walk into a garage that doesn't make me a car. If I walk into a barn that doesn't make me a mule. And if I walk into a church that doesn't make me a christian. I need to trust Jesus as my Lord and believe that Jesus died for me on the cross, was buried, and rose again to become a christian and get saved.
And the good news is after anyone gets saved, they can not lose their salvation. Proverbs 29:25 promises Whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. 1 Peter 1:5 says Who (saved saints) are kept by the power of God (not their good deeds or works) through faith (in Jesus) unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In other words, it's not you reaching up and holding on for dear life; it's Jesus with His nail pierced hand reaching down and taking a hold of your hand and eternally saving you.
The Following Is A Love Letter That Is All Talk And No Good Works
Instead Let Your Love Letter To Jesus Be Proven By Your Good Works
A man wrote a love letter to his girlfriend saying My dearest darling Suzie Q, I love you so much that from the very first moment I saw you it was love at first sight. I don't know much about writing but let me try in just a few words to pen what you mean to me. He said I love you so much I would hack my way through the densest snake infested jungle to come and spend a moment with you.
He said I would swim the deepest shark infested ocean just to come to the warmth of your smile. Then he waxed eloquent saying I love you so much I would dangle from the slim thread of a rope up the face of a sheer rock cliff and claw my way to the top just to spend a moment in your presence. P.S. I'll be over Wednesday if it doesn't rain.
This letter is all talk and no action. Jesus tells us not to be just hearers of the Word and all talk, but to be doers of the Word and by our good works people will see Jesus and get saved. After anyone gets saved God records all their good deeds and eventually gives them a reward at the bema judgment seat after the rapture. Remember James 1:22-26 But be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the Word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass; For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work; this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Remember Be A Doer And Not Just A Hearer Of The Word
Loving Jesus Is
Following Him Wherever He Leads
Obeying Him Whatever He Asks
And Trusting Him Whatever The Trial
