It's Better To Be Saved Than Lost

Fanny Crosby's Service For Jesus Will Be 

Honored Forever In Heaven

PT Barnum And Tom Thumb's Worldly Fame

Will Be Forgotten In Heaven

     Pictured above at the Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport Connecticut are three grave sites. The two large monuments are dedicated to Phineas T. Barnum (PT Barnum) and Charles S. Stratton (Tom Thumb) who were very famous and popular in the world. The small humble gravestone marks the burial place for a blessed blind woman named Fanny Crosby to whom the world would not give the time of day.

     PT Barnum and Tom Thumb performed in a circus and appeared before Abraham Lincoln and Queen Victoria. They were popular, wealthy and well known in this world. On the other hand Fanny Crosby was humble and lifted up Jesus instead of herself. Fanny Crosby wrote 9000 hymns that are still sung today by many christians like Blessed Assurance and To God Be The Glory. Fanny Crosby would sing her hymns in homeless shelters in New York City for Jerry McCauley (a prisoner that got saved and opened up a homeless shelter in New York City and won thousands to Jesus).

     When PT Barnum and Tom Thumb died, heaven had no idea who they were. They lived for themselves instead of Jesus and died alone. But when Fanny Crosby died, heaven took note and received a saint into the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. Like Fanny Crosby, Brother Bob wants people to see Jesus when I write these posts. Brother Bob like Fanny Crosby might not get the recognition on earth but I'm looking forward to the rewards in heaven when I see all the people that got saved by reading preachbrotherbob. It's an honor to tell everyone please get saved today; Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess Jesus to be God, and believe that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again. 

     History tells us that the sinner PT Barnum invited the blessed preacher named Charles Spurgeon to preach in his circus tents across America to make money and draw large crowds. There were no restrictions on what Spurgeon could say and Spurgeon was allowed to supply his own music if he desired. Spurgeon would be paid $1000 a night, the equivalent of $20000 per night in today's economy. 

     Note Spurgeon's short answer to PT Barnum where he refused to participate in a sinful environment that reads as follows; "Dear Mr. Barnum, Thank you for your kind invitation to lecture in your circus tents in America. You will find my answer in Acts 13:10. Very sincerely yours, Charles H. Spurgeon. When PT Barnum read Acts 13:10 hopefully he saw the error of his ways "O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord. 

     Like Charles Spurgeon, Brother Bob will not travel to a person's home or a place where there is drugs, alcohol, or open sin. I don't reject sinners; I just meet them at a blessed restaurant or invite them to church and try to bless them with the gospel of Jesus while I help meet their needs by supplying money for food or clothing. 2 Corinthians 6:17 tells us Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Got Saved And Left The Fame Of This World To Serve Jesus

     Pictured above Jenny Lind toured with PT Barnum as a popular singer that was worth $350000. But one day Jenny got saved and walked away from the worldly fame. Take time to read Jenny Lind's blessed testimony about our Lord Jesus Christ. Truly it's better to be saved than lost. Jenny testified that she chose Jesus because her success was making her think less of the bible and nothing at all about the sunset's glories and joy with our Lord Jesus. 

     CT Studd also walked away from millions of dollars (donating all his money to George Muller and DL Moody to help needy orphans and widows) and became a blessed missionary to Africa at the age of 72. Like CT Studd and Jenny Lind, Brother Bob also walked away from millions of dollars by choosing Jesus instead of the money of my orthodox Jewish parents to write this book for Jesus and see people all over this earth get saved for Jesus. 

It's A Great Irony

That Big Shots In The World Are Completely Unknown In Heaven While

The Unknowns In The World Are Well Known In Heaven

     The big shots in the world will be forgotten in heaven while the unknowns in the world (who like John the Baptist let Jesus increase while they decrease) will be honored and well known in heaven. This is proven by 2 Corinthians 6:9-10 that speaks about blessed christians saying As unknown and yet well known, as dying and behold we live, as chastened and not killed, as sorrowful yet alway rejoicing, as poor yet making many rich, as having nothing and yet possessing all things. Remember our works don't save us; we are saved by faith in what Jesus did for us at the cross. But we will be rewarded for our good works for Jesus on this earth. Jesus said at Revelation 22:12 And behold I come quickly, and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 

     And remember the wise saying from Jesus at Matthew 10:39 that says He that findeth his life shall lose it, and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. Ignore the wrong advice from the world when anyone says Take care of number one or If you don't watch out for yourself, who will. Instead deny yourself daily and try to be kind and help people wherever you go. 

     We all reap what we sow. If we are kind, friendly, and forgiving, people will be kind, friendly, and forgiving to us. If we are mean, complain all the time, selfish, and crabby, people will be mean, complain about us,and be selfish and crabby around us. I went out to find a friend and could not find one there; I went out to be a friend and friends were everywhere. You must show yourself friendly to make a friend. Remember Brother Bob's motto: Avoid angry people and forgive forever to have peace, health, and a long happy life.

Unsaved Roman Leaders You'll Learn 

It's Better To Be Saved Than Lost

     If you visit the Roman catacombs (subterranean passageways in Rome where blessed christians who died for Jesus were buried), compare the inscriptions on the christian tombstones with the inscriptions on the unsaved rich Roman leaders' tombstones. After you study the following inscriptions, you'll learn that it's better to be saved with Jesus and eternal peace than be lost and in misery forever in hell.

     The christians in the catacombs had hope and believed they would see Jesus with eternal peace. After these christians died in the catacombs, forsaken, poverty striken, and persecuted by the imperial Roman government, their tombstones displayed joy and hope.

John-Our dear departed father gone to be with Jesus

Martha-Loving mother suffering no more waiting for us in glory

Now compare the sorrowful inscriptions on the rich Roman rulers' tombstones

Remember it's better to be saved than lost

Augustus-Lived for the present hour since we are sure of nothing else

Marcus-Once I was not, now I'm not, I know nothing about it, It's no concern of mine

Felix-Travelers curse me not as you pass for I am in darkness and cannot answer

Remember It's Better To Leave This Earth As A Christian

Instead of A Lost Unsaved Person

     When christians leave this earth and are lowered into graves, tell the devil you won't keep them because they're saved. YOU CAN'T KEEP A GOOD MAN DOWN. Christians can gladly say 1 Corinthians 15:55 O death where is thy sting? O grave where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. In other words, if you're a saved christian when you leave this earth in the rapture, you'll leave out of here like Superman and be caught up in the clouds to be with Jesus. And when you come back to this earth with Jesus on white horses, you'll be like the Lone Ranger. Remember the title of this sermon: It's better to be saved than lost.
