The Changeless Jesus Part One

Examples Of How Jesus Does Not Change

Jesus does not change. People change, places change, fads change, fashions change, and the economy changes, but Jesus does not change. Jesus said at Malachi 3:6 For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. And Hebrews 13:8 says Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Ways Jesus Does Not Change
Jesus Is Changeless In His Holiness

First Jesus is changeless in His holiness because Jesus is perfect and sinless forever proven by the following four bible verses. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says Jesus KNEW NO SIN saying For He (The Father) hath made Him (Jesus) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. 1 Peter 2:22 says Jesus DID NO SIN saying Who (Jesus) did no sin, neither was guile (deceit or trickery) found in His mouth. 1 John 3:5 says Jesus HAD NO SIN saying And ye know that He (Jesus) was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin. Finally Hebrews 4:15 says Jesus IS WITHOUT SIN saying For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

If We Group The Above Four Bible Verses The Result Is
Jesus Knew No Sin, Did No Sin, Had No Sin, And Is Without Sin

Because Jesus is perfect and sinless we all should strive to be like Jesus. 1 Peter 1:15 says But as He which hath called you (Jesus) is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. Remember the pleasure of sin is only for a season and eventually the fun ends in death because the wages of sin is death and misery. But if you daily deny your flesh and stop sinning, the gift of God (Jesus Christ) is eternal life and peace forevermore. Get saved today and enjoy life and peace forevermore with Jesus. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

Jesus never said anything wrong. Jesus never did anything wrong. Jesus never thought anything wrong. Just getting around a person like Jesus would get you under conviction and encourage you to live holy. 2 Corinthians 7:1 says Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. James 1:21 says Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity (past sins before salvation) of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted Word, which is able to save your souls.

Remember your worst enemy outside of the devil is yourself. Every day when you look at yourself in the mirror say "Now what are you up to today?" Daily deny your flesh by staying in the Word of God, praying, and attending church. Jesus said at Luke 9:23 If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. And Solomon told us what would happen if we daily deny ourselves. Proverbs 16:32 says He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.

Choose to live holy and receive peace with Jesus. Decide to live holy and obey Ephesians 4:29. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Galatians 6:9 says And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Ways Jesus Does Not Change
Jesus Is Changeless In His Love

Next we see that Jesus is changeless in His love. Jeremiah 31:3 says The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. What drew me to Jesus and salvation was how loving and kind Jesus was to me and how rotten I used to be to Him. Jesus drew me with lovingkindness unto salvation and gave me joy by washing away all my sins with His precious blood that He shed at the cross of Calvary. I say to all people reading this thinking about getting saved, consider Romans 2:4. Or despisest thou the riches of His (Jesus') goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

Pictured above we see that in the beginning of time, Jesus was God walking in the garden of Eden in the cool of the day looking for Adam with lovingkindness. Genesis 3:8 says And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day (The God man Jesus was walking in the garden of Eden looking for Adam), and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

A teacher commented about when Jesus said "Adam, Where art thou?" She said "The Lord Jesus was not a policeman looking to punish Adam for his sin. Instead the Lord Jesus was a kind Father looking for a lost child with lovingkindness." And Jesus showed the greatest act of love when He died on the cross for our sins. John 15:13 says Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Pictured above we ask the question Why did Jesus Christ compare himself to a hen? Dr. MR Dehaan said whoever invented the word chickenhearted didn't know his chickens. I spring to the defense of these blessed birds. For a chicken is just the opposite. I've never seen a greater demonstration of courage, love, fearlessness, and loyalty, than I've seen displayed by a chicken in the time of danger. A hen will sit immoveably through the most violent gale of wind and rain. A hen will gather her chicks safely beneath her that they might be protected from any storm.

Perhaps now we can understand better why Jesus compared His own love to that of a hen. Jesus said with lovingkindness Matthew 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not.

FB Meyer told a story about when he saw what looked like a dead hen in the middle of a field after a fire. When FB Meyer picked up the dead hen, he found four precious little chicks chirping for food. FB Meyer realized that the mother hen sacrificed her life to save her chicks. Then FB Meyer understood that Jesus is our mother hen that sacrificed His life on the cross of Calvary to save the children of God from the lake of fire. When Jesus died on the cross, he saved sinners from the fire of hell. Right now say Lord Jesus thank you for dying on the cross to save a wretch like me from the lake of fire and wash me whiter than snow with your precious blood. Jesus took our filthy sins away and gave us His perfect righteousness. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says For He hath made Him (Jesus) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

Truly the love that Jesus manifested on the cross of Calvary for us constrains (compels) us to gladly witness about salvation and serve our Lord Jesus. This is why 2 Corinthians 5:14 says For the love of Christ constraineth (compels) us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, than were all dead (to the sinful flesh): And that He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him which died for them, and rose again.

1 John 3:14 says We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. 1 John 4:19 says We love Him (Jesus), because He first loved us. Rejoice and say John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Ways Jesus Does Not Change
Jesus Is Changeless In His Power

Jesus is changeless in His power according to Psalm 62:11: God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God. Jesus has all power according to Matthew 28:18 where Jesus said All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. And according to Luke 9:43 the disciples were amazed at the mighty power of the Lord Jesus after He delivered and healed a child from an unclean spirit.

Take time to read this blessed story about Thomas Aquinas and the power of God. The great scholar Thomas Aquinas came to the city of Rome to pay his respect to the Pope. In the course of his visit, the Pope proudly showed him all the wonders of the Papal palace. The Pope took him to his treasury and showed him chests of silver and gold received from every part of the world.

With something of a smile on his face the Pope said, "You see Thomas we can not say with Peter silver and gold have I none." Looking the Pope straight in the eyes, Thomas Aquinas fearlessly replied and said, "No and neither can you say In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk." In other words Thomas Aquinas told the Pope "You got a lot of money but you have no power to heal."

Peter (a poor ignorant fisherman) had poverty but he also had power to heal. Acts 3:6 says that Peter told a lame man at the Beautiful Gate, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them (Peter and John) into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

Instead of money, we need power from Jesus by being anointed and filled with the Spirit of God. Ephesians 5:18 says And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit. You see when you get saved, you also receive the Holy Ghost and power. Titus 3:5 says Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost ( A person receives the Holy Spirit at salvation and not after salvation; The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are one).

The last words Jesus spoke told us how to receive the power of the Holy Ghost with salvation. Jesus said at Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you; and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. A sure sign that you are saved with the power of the Holy Ghost is your desire to witness Jesus everywhere and save lost sinners.

Ways To Receive Power That Belongeth To God
Draw Nigh To God And Don't Sin

Since all power belongeth to God, we must draw nigh to God to receive strength and power to overcome the troubles of this world. James 4:8 says Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. And remember to deny sin daily by staying in the Word, praying, and attending church. This is because sin will separate you from God and His power. Isaiah 59:1 says Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear.

We all need draw nigh to God's power and be like the apostle John pictured above who got the closest to Jesus by laying his head on the bosom of Jesus at the Last Supper. How close to Jesus do you want to get to receive power? You can get just as close to God as you want to get. John was so close to Jesus that when he leaned on Jesus' breast, John heard the heartbeat of God.

And notice that when Jesus said at the Last Supper One of you shall betray me, all the disciples said Lord, is it I? But then John knew he wouldn't betray Jesus and instead said Lord, who is it? John was confident that he wouldn't betray Jesus because John got the closest to Jesus at the Last Supper.

At first, all the disciples including John said Lord, is it I when Jesus said One of you shall betray me at the Last Supper. This is stated at Matthew 26:21 that says And as they did eat, He (Jesus) said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. And they were exceedingly sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto Him, Lord, is it I? But after John got the closest to Jesus and laid his head on Jesus' bosom, John was confident that he wouldn't betray Jesus proven by John 13:25 that says He (John) then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto Him, Lord, who is it?
