A Lesson Learned From An Iceberg
Written By GBF Hallock
Sometimes a strange thing is seen at sea. The wind and surface ice are all moving in one direction, but a huge iceberg pictured above comes along moving against the wind and surface ice, plowing its way through the surface ice in the opposite direction. An iceberg can move against the wind primarily because it is much more sensitive to ocean currents than to surface winds. While the wind pushes on the small portion of the iceberg above the water (the tip), the massive submerged portion that accounts for about 90% of its volume, is driven by deeper, powerful, underwater currents.
Because most of the iceberg is submerged underwater, the force exerted by ocean currents (water power) far outweighs the force of the wind (air power). If an ocean current is moving in one direction and the wind in another direction, the iceberg will follow the ocean's current. The winds of this troubled world do not affect the iceberg.
Let's learn about an iceberg's movement? The surface ice floats with the wind, but the iceberg has its base down in a deeper and more powerful ocean current and is borne along majestically against all opposition. Most people float with the world's surface wind even when these are moving in the wrong direction. But occasionally there comes a man who has his will down into the deeper and more powerful current of God's will and then all the world must give way before him as he plows his course, overcoming the troubles of this world. Jesus said at Luke 9:62 No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
Like the iceberg, surface winds from this troubled world have no effect on any person living for the Lord Jesus. These world resisters and world compellers are God moved in the power of His might. They proclaim Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. They rejoice and say 1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Like the iceberg, don't join the crowds of this world enjoying sin. James 4:4 says Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Choose life and Jesus and don't allow the sins of this world to stop your blessings. Instead of joining the crowd that continuously sins in this world (getting drunk, fornicating, and wasting time gossiping on facebook with cellphones) live for Jesus and receive peace that passeth all understanding with joy and strength everlasting. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. Witness Jesus everywhere and try to win souls and your life will have joy, purpose, and meaning.
Don't float in the wrong direction with the world sinning to death, misery and eternity in the lake of fire. Instead get saved and like the iceberg resist the devil and receive victory, peace, and everlasting life with the Lord Jesus in heaven for ever. Matthew 7:13 says Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Remember the bible says that many that are first who enjoy sin in this world shall be last but the few that live holy lives for Jesus who are last in this world will be first. Mark 10:31 says But many that are first shall be last; and the last (who are few) first.

What Is An Estuary And Estuarial Circulation
An estuary is a partially enclosed, coastal body of water where freshwater from rivers and streams meets and mixes with saltwater from the ocean. Pictured above, estuaurial circulation, also known as gravitational circulation, is a long term, average movement of water within an estuary. It is primarily driven by the density difference between freshwater and saltwater.
In an estuary, water moves in two distinct layers. The lighter, less dense freshwater surface layer from rivers flows seaward toward the ocean. The heavier, denser saltwater bottom layer from the ocean pushes landward along the bottom, beneath the freshwater. When the surface freshwater from rivers exit into the ocean, the saltwater pushes landward from the ocean. The way the freshwater and saltwater layers interact depends on the strength of the river versus the energy of the ocean tides.
There Are Four Estuarial Circulation Patterns Listed Below
1) A salt wedge occurs when a powerful river meets a weak tide. The freshwater stays on top, and the saltwater forms a sharp wedge like layer on the bottom (e.g., Mississippi River). 2) Partially mixed occurs when moderate ocean tides cause enough turbulence to mix some saltwater into the surface, and some freshwater into the bottom, though the layers are still visible (e.g., Chesapeake Bay). 3) Well mixed occurs when when strong tides and weak river flow mix the water completely from top to bottom, resulting in a uniform salinity at any given spot (e.g., Delaware Bay). 4) An inverse estuary occurs in very dry climates where evaporation exceeds freshwater input. The freshwater becomes so salty and dense that it sinks and flows outward along the bottom, while the seawater flows inward at the surface (Persian Gulf).
Don't Be Like The Rooster Who Thinks
The Sun Rises To Hear Him Crow
Unlike the rooster pictured above, Brother Bob says to agree with John the Baptist and say John 3:30 He (Jesus) must increase, but I must decrease. Be humble like Paul saying Ephesians 3:8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ. Remember get yourself out of the picture and glorify the Lord Jesus..
1 Corinthians 1:31 says That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 3:6 says I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
Deny yourself daily and say along with DL Moody "I have never met a man who gave me more trouble than myself." When you look at yourself in a mirror, say "Now what are you up to today?" Obey Jesus' command at Luke 9:23 that says If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
I just had to add this gem. When Peter denied Jesus after the rooster crowed, there was a preaching chicken and a chicken preacher face to face. Usually roosters crow early in the morning, but Jesus had a rooster crow twice late at night after Peter denied Jesus thrice. The rooster crowed while Peter warmed himself by a fire during the night. Peter realized a miracle happened when the rooster crowed late at night instead of the morning and wept after his denial.
Luke 22:55 says And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them. But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him. And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.
And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not. And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean. And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew. And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
Why do most preachers like chicken?
They're trying to get rid of that crowing rooster
A preacher's belt ain't nothing but a fence around a chicken's graveyard
An elderly preacher lost his dentures (false teeth) down a well. He asked his preacher friends to figure out a way to get his teeth out of the well. One preacher decided to tie a chicken on a string and lower the chicken down into the well. It worked because the false teeth bit the chicken and the preachers pulled out the dentures.
A Blessed Story About The Heavenly Choir
By T. Dewitt Talmage
The wife of a preacher was praising Jesus in a home near their church. Usually every Saturday night the choir would rehearse in this home for the Sunday service. On Thursday night the preacher's wife said "How sweet that the choir is rehearsing tonight for an hour." Someone near her said "The choir is not rehearsing tonight." But the preacher's wife said "I can hear the choir singing and it is so blessed."
The preacher's wife heard the heavenly choir singing Alleluia. Sometimes Jesus sets ajar the door of heaven to let the saints hear the heavenly choir. The minstrels of heaven strike such a tremendous melody that the walls of jasper cannot hold it. Earthly concerts present conductors using the hand and foot to wield great harmony.
But how magnificent is the majestic scene when they shall come from the east, west, north and south-a great multitude that no man can number into the temple of the heavens, host beyond host, in the kingdom of God, and the Lord Jesus shall stand before the great host to conduct the harmony with his wounded hands and His wounded feet. Get saved and sing with the angels in the heavenly choir. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.
Like the voice of many waters with the majesty of glorious praise, the heavenly choir of innumerable angels and saved saints will proclaim Revelation 5:12. Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. Hebrews 12:22 says But ye are come unto Mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect. And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
Blessed Sayings From Matthew Henry And DL Moody
Matthew Henry said "I would think it a greater happiness to gain one soul to Jesus than mountains of silver and gold to myself. If I do not gain souls, I shall enjoy all my other gains with very little satisfaction." DL Moody's blessed last words on this earth were "Heaven is opening, earth is receding, God is calling, I am going."
