Teaching Us To Deny The I Right In The Middle Of Pride And Sin

     Read the following story about a frog and two geese flying over a canyon to learn how according to Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. One day a frog wanted to travel to the other side of a canyon. The frog told two geese could you fly me to the other side of the canyon? The frog thought of a plan that he explained to the two geese. The frog told the two geese to hold onto the ends of a stick with their beaks while the frog held on to the middle of the stick with his mouth while they all flew over the canyon.

     When the frog and the two geese started flying over the canyon, a farmer looked up and said "Wow that is the most amazing thing I ever saw in my life. Whose idea was that?" And the frog yelled "It's me who got the idea." Then the frog fell into the canyon. Remember pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.  The frog's proud haughty spirit was followed by a fall. Don't be like the proud frog. Instead obey James 4:10 that says Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up. Don't be proud and selfish. Instead be concerned about the needs of others while you obey Philippians 2:4 that says Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

The #1 Thing God Hates Is A Proud Look

Instead Of Saying I'll Do This; Say Lord Willing I'll Do This

     There are seven things listed above at Proverbs 6:16 that God hates. But note that the #1 thing on the list that God hates is a proud look. When you look at the words pride and sin, you find that the letter I is right in the middle of pride and sin. Whenever anyone is guilty of pride or sin, it's all about I and not about Jesus. Instead of lifting up yourself saying I, I, I, lift up Jesus. Obey 1 Corinthians 1:31 that says That according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. 

     Remember we can only live together in peace if we avoid pride and exalt the name of Jesus. Jesus said at John 12:32 And I, if I (Jesus) be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. Get saved today and exalt our Lord Jesus avoiding the destruction that follows pride and selfishness. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. 

     Instead of saying I'll do this; Say Lord willing I'll do this. James 4:13 says Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

Note The Reason Below That Sodomite Homosexuals And Lesbians

Celebrate Pride Week And Pride Month

     First let me state that I do not hate sodomite homosexuals and lesbians. But it's the sin of sodomy that I cry out against. Sodomites can get saved and Jesus will forgive the sin of sodomy. But sodomy is a sin that leads to death and needs to be avoided. God wants men to marry women (not men to marry men or women to marry women). 1 Corinthians 6:9 says Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God (Note that this is talking about inheritance rewards in the kingdom of God and not about salvation)? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolators, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. (Now note the next verse that states that sodomites can get saved). And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 

     Next note the reason why sodomite homosexuals and lesbians celebrate pride week and pride month. Ezekial 16:49 says whenever the sin of sodomy exists, there is pride, fulness of bread, an abundance of idleness, and no concern for the poor and the needy. The scripture says Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

Don't Be Like The Devil And Proud Herod

Who Let Pride Destroy Them

     Don't be like the devil and proud Herod who let pride destroy them. The devil always said the words I will and was destroyed by pride. Remember instead of saying I will, say Lord willing. Note that the proud devil said I will five times from Isaiah 14:12-16. Isaiah 14:12 says How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer (devil), son of the morning (not morning star incorrectly stated in the NIV perverted translation; Jesus (not the devil) is the bright morning star at Revelation 22:16). How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations. For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 

     There will be five downs for the devil because of the devil's five proud I wills at Isaiah 14:12-16. The first down from the third heaven to the second heaven is noted at Isaiah 14:15 that says Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. The second down from the second heaven to the first heaven is noted at Luke 10:18 that says I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. The third down from the first heaven to earth is noted at Revelation 12:9 that says And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 

     The fourth down from the earth to the bottomless pit is noted at Revelation 20:1-3: And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. And finally the fifth down for the devil from the bottomless pit to the lake of fire is noted at Revelation 20:10: And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Hallelujah five downs for the devil who will be on the chain gang for 1000 years and be defeated forever. 

     Isaiah 14:15 goes on to say Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit (note that the devil is brought down to the sides of the pit because the pit is bottomless with no bottom). Remember when the devil reminds you of your past, remind him of his future. Tell the devil you're going to be on the chain gang for 1000 years chained with a great chain where you will be falling constantly with no bottom in a sealed bottomless pit. Isaiah 14:16 says They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners? 

     Now rejoice and say one of Brother Bob's favorite bible verses which is the death sentence for the devil at Ezekial 28:18. Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee (the devil's going to the lake of fire), it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more. Rejoice because very soon the devil will disappear and never exist any more in the kingdom of God forever. 

     Don't be like proud Herod who let pride destroy him. Herod proclaimed that he was a god and got destroyed by worms. Acts 12:21 says And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost. Instead be like Paul and Barnabas at Acts 14:11-15 who refused to be worshipped as gods by the people and only exalted the name of Jesus. 

Remember It's Better To Bow Down Now To Jesus And Get Saved

Than To Bow Down Later To Jesus At The Great White Throne Judgment

And Be Damned Because Of Pride And Selfishness

     Remember it's better to bow down now to Jesus and get saved than to bow down later to Jesus at the great white throne judgment and be damned because of pride and selfishness. Eventually everyone that ever lived will have to bow down to the Lord Jesus. Either you bow down now and be saved. Or you bow down later at the great white throne judgment and be damned. I pray in Jesus name that anyone reading this will bow down now to Jesus and get saved proclaiming everywhere that Jesus is God. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. 

     Remember Philippians 2:9 says Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him (Jesus), and given Him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

I've prayed for maybe 1 or 2 hours, but 24 hours of non stop praying (wow that's amazing).      Like Charles Chiniquy, take time daily to ask Jesus in prayer about your needs before you preach, make decisions, or do anything for Jesus. James 4:2 says Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. It has been said that the people that ask for the most things, get blessed with the most things from Jesus. Ye have not because ye ask not. Jesus said at Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 

     Jesus is waiting for you to ask and tell him about your troubles in prayer. After you ask the Lord Jesus in prayer for deliverance from your problems, Jesus will grant your requests, bless you, and solve all your problems. In other words, don't react to your problems; instead first tell your problem to Jesus and then Jesus will answer either yes with peace or no with no peace. Philippians 4:6 says Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

     J Wilbur Chapman was a preacher who had hundreds of his church members pray every Sunday in a basement below where he preached. Adoniram And Ann Judson Saved Thousands After Prayer

     Adoniram and Ann Judson were missionaries that sailed from Massachusetts (USA) around Africa to India and then to Burma (now Myanmar) to preach Jesus to the Burmese natives. The Burmese natives and a wicked king put Adoniram in prison; These natives thought Adoniram was a spy for the enemy Great Britain. Every day Ann Judson would visit her husband in prison; Ann would kneel down every day in front of the prison and pray telling her husband Adoniram don't let go, don't despair. Then Ann would tell the Lord Jesus, Jesus you brought us to Burma for a purpose; Please fulfill that purpose.

     The Lord Jesus answered humble Ann Judson's prayers. Adoniram was released from prison after Great Britain conquered Burma. Then Adoniram and Ann Judson blessed the Burmese natives with thousands of bibles (translated from English to the Burmese language). Today hundreds of years after the deaths of Adoniram and Ann Judson, thousands of Burmese natives worship our Lord Jesus in Myanmar. Right now say this blessed quote from Ann Judson; A little while, we are in eternity; Before we find ourselves there; Let us do much for Jesus. Like Ann Judson, experience the peace and blessings from serving our Lord Jesus. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. 

     There used to be a palace on a hillside where the wicked Burmese king lived that tortured Adoniram in prison. After the Burmese natives got saved, these Burmese christians tore down the wicked king's palace and the prison where Adoniram suffered for years. As a memorial remembering Adoniram and Ann Judson, the Burmese natives built hundreds of little churches on the hillside where the evil king's palace and prison used to exist. Today Burmese natives from all the surrounding villages in Myanmar travel to this hillside to worship the Lord Jesus in these blessed little churches. Ann Judson's faithfulness and prayers were remembered by Jesus and the result is thousands saved in Myanmar for Jesus.

The Bible Tells Us To Always Pray To Be Blessed

     Let's connect two bible scriptures to prove that prayer will create blessings. Galatians 6:9 says And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. And Luke 18:1 says how to faint not to reap and be blessed by prayer saying And He (Jesus) spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint. Therefore keep praying and you won't faint while you reap great blessings in due season because you continued to bless the poor, orphans, and widows in their affliction. James 1:27 says Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

     And the bible says that any time is a good time to pray. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Timothy 2:1 says I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men.

Prayer Was More Important To Jesus Than Sleep

     Prayer was more important to Jesus than teaching or healing. This is stated at Luke 5:15 that says But so much the more went there a fame abroad of Him (Jesus): and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities. And He (Jesus) withdrew Himself into the wilderness, and prayed. And prayer was more important to Jesus than sleep. This is stated at Luke 6:12 that says And it came to pass in those days, that He (Jesus) went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. Finally remember that Jesus told us to pray and fast to cast out the devil. Mark 9:28 says And when He (Jesus) was come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, Why could not we cast him (the devil) out? and He said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

     Prayer was the most important thing in George Muller's life. George Muller never begged for money. Mr. Muller just believed and prayer sent millions of dollars to clothe and feed thousands of orphans. Mr. Muller said 4 hours of work after 1 hour of prayer accomplished more than 5 hours without prayer. Martin Luther said I've got so much to do today; I'm gonna spend the first three hours in prayer. Jewett said I'd rather teach 1 man to pray than 10 men to preach. Fanny Crosby was able to write over 9000 hymns for Jesus because Fanny prayed every time before she wrote a song.

Some Final Thoughts About Prayer

     Remember take time every day to pray so Jesus can bless you. Joshua took time to pray and caused the sun to stand still so his army could win the battle. Joshua 10:12 says Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. 

     Paul and Silas took time to pray at midnight and caused the chains of trouble to fall off and set all the prisoners free. Acts 16:25 says And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed. There was a rejoicing, a releasing, a restraining, and a regeneration. Paul and Silas rejoiced in the midnight hour, an earthquake released the prisoners, the Holy Ghost restrained and stopped the prisoners from escaping, and the jailer got saved and regenerated.

     Finally prayer was made by the church for Peter in prison, and God sent an angel to set Peter free from jail. The angel opened three gates of the prison, allowing Peter to escape. When Peter realized he wasn't dreaming, he praised the Lord Jesus for releasing him from prison. Peter got blessed because the church and christians prayed for Peter. 

     Like Peter and the church, keep praying in groups for everyone. One ant can push a crumb but ten ants can push it better. One chases 1000 devils but two puts 10000 devils to flight (10 times more power when 2 instead of 1 pray). Deuteronomy 32:30 says How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their rock had sold them, and the Lord had shut them up? For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges. 

     Jesus said at Matthew 18:19 Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. Ecclesiastes 4:9 says Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
