Choose Jesus Instead Of Anything Else

Like The Prodigal Son Choose The Lord Jesus Instead of Anything Else

Today like the prodigal son learn that choosing the Lord Jesus is better than anything else in this fading world. Luke 15:12 tells a story about a certain man that had two sons. And the younger of them (the prodigal son) said to his father, father give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. At first the lost son chose the glamour of the world instead of Jesus; Like all lost people without Jesus, he only was concerned with two words (give me). On this earth, lost people without Jesus say give me money; but in hell, lost people without Jesus will be saying forever give me water. Fortunately, the prodigal son will eventually get saved and learn that Jesus is so much better than anything in this world.

Luke 15:13 goes on to say And not many days after the younger (prodigal) son gathered all together and took his journey into a far country and there wasted his substance with riotous living. Note that it is not many days after someone is thinking about the far country that they are actually in the far country. Ephesians 4:27 warns us Neither give place to the devil. Galatians 5:9 warns us A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. In other words deny the slightest thought of sin and keep your mind on the Word of God and Jesus to avoid the misery and trouble of sin that leads to death.

Eventually the prodigal son lost all his money and ended up in the hogpen feeding pigs. The prodigal son learned that the Father's house was so much better with Jesus than the far country. Today millions of people are in the far country (even though they are in a church every Sunday) choosing to reject Jesus and love this fading world. Note the following signs that tell you that you're in the far country rejecting Jesus; 1) You love anything more than Jesus. 2) You have any hope more precious to you than the hope of heaven. 3) You love any book more than you love the bible.

Joshua 24:15 tells us that we all have to make a decision and choose either Jesus or this sinful fading world. It says And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land ye dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. In other words, trust Jesus and be saved and go to heaven; trust anything else and be lost and go to hell in misery forever. Right now get saved and choose Jesus with peace, joy, and strength in heaven. Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess Jesus to be God, and believe that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again.

Choose The Cup Of Salvation Instead Of The Devil's Cup Of Alcohol
The devil's cup first tastes good but then gets bad and ends in eternal misery
The cup of salvation first tastes bad with repentance but then gets better and better

Many people on this earth choose to drink the devil's cup that looks good and pleasant to the eyes with the glamorous lights of the casinos and beautiful women. The first drink from the devil's cup feels good when anyone fornicates and gets a temporary high from reefer, alcohol, or cocaine. But when anyone keeps drinking and sinning by sipping the devil's cup, they become miserable with sickness and debt failing to achieve that first high they experienced. And then while they keep drinking the devil's cup, they get addicted to alcohol and dope and can't seem to quit.

And finally when they get to the bottom of the devil's cup, the bible says a snake bites them with poison and the end result is misery and pain forevermore in hell. Proverbs 23:31 warns us Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. Drunks and alcoholics will say it's all right to drink because 1 Timothy 5:23 says Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake, and thine often infirmities. But note that a little wine should only be taken when a person is sick; In other words avoid just drinking for fun because at the bottom of the devil's cup is a snake that will bite and send people to the misery of hell.

Many people say I can handle a little bit of fun and sin with just a little wine and choose Jesus later. Unfortunately most of these people never find Jesus and salvation. Brother Bob used to run with gangs and gamble all night at Atlantic City casinos drinking beer at the nightclubs. Every word out of my mouth from 16 to 21 was a curse word while I wore wild long hair. But by the grace of God, Brother Bob got saved at the age of 21 after Jesus saved my dad from drowning on a boat. Most all of my old sinful friends that I used to gamble and party with all night drinking and sinning are in one of three places now; dead, in prison, or in hell. And Brother Bob is saved, alive, and telling millions all over this earth about Jesus and has peace and joy forevermore. Jesus is so much better than anything else in this world.

Now lets take a look at the cup of salvation. The first sip out of the cup of salvation involves repentance (deciding to stop sinning and turn to Jesus) and doesn't taste too good. But then you sip salvation and accept Jesus as your Lord and start feeling better. And while you keep sipping the cup of salvation, you say this stuff isn't bad; it's a blessing to study the Word of God and learn about Jesus. Then you say this stuff is getting better and better with each sip. And finally when you get to the bottom of the cup of salvation, you find a well of water springing up unto everlasting life. Wow the cup of salvation with Jesus is better than anything else in this fading world.

Choose Pleasures Forevermore With Jesus
Instead Of The Pleasures For A Season With Sin

I pray in Jesus name that anyone reading this will choose the pleasures forevermore with Jesus instead of the pleasures for a season with sin. Psalm 16:11 tells us Thou wilt shew me the path of life; in thy presence (Lord God) is fulness of joy; at thy right hand (with the Lord Jesus) there are pleasures for evermore. Avoid the temporary pleasures of sin for a season like Moses stated at Hebrews 11:25 where Moses chose rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season.

Folks, sin and its temporary fun is just not worth it. Isaiah 48:22 tells us There is no peace, saith the Lord, unto the wicked. Proverbs 13:15 says the way of the transgressors is hard. John 3:36 sums it all up saying He that believeth on the Son (Jesus) hath everlasting life; and he that believeth not the Son (Jesus) shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Today stop sinning like the prodigal son who decided to return to his father's house instead of living in the hogpen of this sinful world. Now notice what the prodigal son said to his father at Luke 15:21 that says And the son said unto him, father I have sinned against heaven and in thy sight and am no more worthy to be called thy son. Like the prodigal son, tell Jesus daily, I'm a filthy sinner that needs you Jesus to daily cleanse and remove my sins. I can't remove my sins by myself; Please Jesus clean me up and take me back. If you come to Jesus like this, Jesus will slide out the wardrobe of heaven and put a clean robe of righteousness on you and you'll say Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Remember If You Come To God Like A Prince, You'll Go Away As A Beggar
But If You Come To God Like A Beggar, You'll Go Away Like A Prince

The Blessings Of Joy With Jesus That Last Forever
Are So Much Better Than The Temporary Pleasure Of Sin In This World

Like the prodigal son, when anyone chooses Jesus instead of any fading pleasure of sin in this world, their everlasting joy with Jesus is so much better than anything else. After the prodigal son repented, Luke 15:22 says But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet; And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat and be merry. For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

Now notice that the prodigal son received everything he needed at his father's house with Jesus that was so much better than anything in this world. The prodigal son received a robe (clothing), a ring (money), and the fatted calf (a good steak dinner). And also notice that the bible says that they (the Lord Jesus and the prodigal son) began to be merry. In other words, like the prodigal son when anyone chooses Jesus instead of this fading world, the joy, peace, and blessings are just beginning and will keep going on forevermore. Jesus told us at John 10:10 I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. And 1 Corinthians 2:9 promises Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.

Like The Prodigal Son Return To Jesus Today And Sing The Words Below

Out in the wilderness wild and drear
Sadly I wandered for many a year
Driven by hunger and filled with fear
I will arise and go

Chorus
Back to my Father and home
Back to my Father and home
I will arise and go
Back to my Father and home

Backward once more my steps retraced
Seeking my heavenly Father's face
Willing to take but a servant's place
I will arise and go

O that I never had gone astray
Life was all radiant with hope one day
But now all its treasures I've thrown away
Dare I arise and go

Something is saying God loves me still
Though I have treated his love so ill
I must not wait for the night grows chill
I must arise and go

Remember when a saved saint leaves this world, they won't want to hear loud worldly rock music or see the flashing lights of a casino. They'll be glad they chose Jesus instead of this evil world and want someone to read them about Jesus and John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions; If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Instead of a wild crazy worldly song, they'll want to hear someone singing In the sweet by and by we shall sing on that beautiful shore; the melodious songs of the blest and our spirits shall sorrow no more; not a sigh for the blessing of rest. They'll also want to hear the two blessed songs titled Fairest Lord Jesus and Jesus Lover Of My Soul. Click the following two youtube links listed below to hear these blessed songs and receive peace, joy, and strength. Jesus bless you all.

How To Avoid A Famine

Ways To Avoid The Famine Of Hearing God's Word
1) Meditate, Memorize, And Read God's Word Daily

Amos 8:11 describes the famine that is occurring in the world today. Amos 8:11 tells us Behold, the days come saith the Lord God that I will send a famine in the land; not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water; but of hearing the words of the Lord. Most people rarely read or even look at a bible. We eat three meals a day to sustain our natural bodies, but we fail to feed our spiritual bodies with the Word of God. One lady told me she hadn't read her bible for years. Jesus tells us to meditate on God's Word at all times every day and night.

Jesus said at Matthew 4:4 Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. In other words, when people fail to meditate, memorize, and daily read the Word, they experience a famine, become weak, and eventually die. Choose to live today and start meditating on the Word of God (that is Jesus with a KJV bible) every day. Jesus said at John 6:63 The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. Be like Job and tell the Lord Jesus at Job 23:12 Neither have I gone back from the commandment of His lips; I have esteemed the words of His mouth more than my necessary food. If you daily meditate on God's Word, you can have joy like Jeremiah and say Jeremiah 15:16 Thy words were found (Jesus), and I did eat them; and thy Word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart; for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts.

Open your bibles and read the cure for the famine of hearing God's Word at 1 Timothy 4:13-16. Jesus tells us Till I come, give attendance (be attentive and meditate daily) to reading (God's Word), to exhortation, to doctrine; Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery; Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all; Take heed unto thyself and unto the doctrine; continue in them, for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. Wow what a promise; if we daily take time to study God's Word, we will save ourselves and everyone around us from trouble, misery, and problems.

Ways To Avoid The Famine Of Hearing God's Word
2) Take Time To Study God's Word During The Day And Also At Night

Another way to avoid the famine of hearing God's Word is to remember to study God's Word during the day and also at night. In other words there is never a bad time to meditate on God's Word. Psalm 119:97 says to meditate on God's Word during the day; O how I love thy law; it is my meditation all the day. And Psalm 63:6 and Psalm 119:148 say to meditate on God's Word during the night; When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee (Jesus) in the night watches. Mine eyes prevent the night watches (I stay awake in the middle of the night), that I might meditate in thy Word. If you meditate day and night on God's Word, Jesus will give you great peace. This is promised at Psalm 119:165 that says Great peace have they which love thy law; and nothing shall offend them.

Jesus gives some of the greatest revelations about His Word during the night. Immediately write down any revelation about God's Word that you receive in a dream during the night so it is not forgotten. Remember any time you just look at God's Word you will get blessed. When you look at God's Word you are looking at Jesus because Jesus is the Word and Jesus is God. This is proven by John 1:1 that says In the beginning was the Word (Jesus proven by Revelation 19:13), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Today start daily looking at the Word (Jesus) and get saved. The Lord Jesus said at Isaiah 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is none else. Right now get saved; repent, decide to stop sinning, confess Jesus to be God, and believe that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again.

Ways To Avoid The Famine Of Hearing God's Word
3) Obey God's Word And Do (Not Just Say) What The Word Requests

Most people just listen to the Word of God once a week at church from their pastor. But everyone needs to meditate on the Word of God themselves daily to find out the truth about God's Word. We need to be doers of God's Word; and not just hearers only. James 1:25 tells us But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Joshua 1:8 tells us This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success (note this is God's way to have success-not by having a lot of money and education but by daily meditating on God's Word). In other words, if anyone daily meditates on God's Word, Jesus will fix all their problems every day and make their way prosperous.

Now take a look at another scripture that promises great blessings if we do God's Word daily at 1 John 2:5. Jesus said But whoso keepeth (obeys and does, not just says) His Word, in him verily is the love of God perfected (the person is made better by the Word); hereby know we that we are in Him (in other words if we read and do God's Word daily we will know that we are saved forevermore).

Alright now here's an example of how to do God's Word. Are you willing to obey the Word after you read this next scripture? Philippians 2:14 tells us Do all things without murmurings and disputings, that ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world. In other words love the unloveable, be kind to rude people, don't hold grudges, and forgive everyone even your worst enemies at all times. Remember whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap. If we are kind, gentle, forgiving, and friendly, people will be kind, gentle, forgiving and friendly to us. If we are mean, complaining, and crabs, people will be mean, complaining, and crabs to us.

Be like the apostle John who got the closest to Jesus by leaning on Jesus' breast where John heard the heartbeat of God. John was the only apostle that stayed with Jesus at the cross of Calvary. In other words, the more time you spend in the Word of God with Jesus, the greater the blessing you will receive. Because John got the closest to Jesus, John received the greatest blessing of all the apostles; John had the honor of seeing all the blessed revelations and promises about our future kingdom stated in the book of Revelation. Paul who wasn't as close to Jesus as John only heard unspeakable words from the third heaven with no revelations.

Finally we need to study and meditate on God's Word so we can witness and win lost souls to our Lord Jesus. The bible says that someone gets saved and born again by hearing the Word of God. 1 Peter 1:23 tells us Being born again not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever. And Romans 10:17 says So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Therefore obey 2 Timothy 2:15 and Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth. Note that only the KJV bibles tell us to study the Word at 2 Timothy 2:15; All other false translations of the bible do not tell you to study God's Word at 2 Timothy 2:15.

Jesus Is The Greatest Scientist
Jesus Created People Four Different Ways
Scientists Have Not Discovered How People Are Created

1) Jesus made a man (Adam) out of dirt without a mother
2) Jesus made a woman (Eve) out of a man's rib without a mother
3) God made Jesus out of a woman (Mary) without an earthly father
4) God makes people out of a man and woman coming together in a marriage

More Reasons Why Jesus Is The Greatest Scientist
Jesus Did What No Earthly Scientist Will Ever Accomplish

Jesus made billions of snowflakes the same shape (6 sides)
and every snowflake is different

Jesus made beaches with millions of pieces of sand all the same shape and size
Jesus knows the numbers and names of all the billions of stars
Psalm 147:4 He telleth the number of the stars; He calleth them all by their names

You Must Be Lost To Get Saved

You Must Be Lost To Get Saved

To get saved everyone must first realize that they are lost and need the Lord Jesus to save them. Luke 19:10 tells us For the Son of man (Jesus) is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Romans 3:23 says For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. And Isaiah 64:6 tells us But we are all as an unclean thing and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. Psalm 39:5 tells us verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. And finally Ecclesiastes 7:20 says For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

Therefore everyone must admit that they are lost sinners needing Jesus to get saved. Jesus told us at Luke 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.  We must realize that only faith in the Lord Jesus can save anyone. Every person that lived on this earth except Jesus was born in sin. Psalm 58:3 says The wicked are estranged from the womb; they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. But even though we were all born as lost sinners, God loved us and sent Jesus to save us from our sins. Acts 4:12 proclaims Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name (Jesus) under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Now for the good news; Learn how to be blessed and get saved even though we are born lost sinners at Ephesians 2:4. This blessed scripture says But God who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace are ye saved). And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Accept Jesus and get saved; Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again.

To Get Saved
You Do The Coming
Jesus Does The Saving

It's easy to get saved. You do the coming and Jesus does the saving according to several bible verses. Just come to Jesus confessing your sins, making a decision to stop sinning, and let the Lord Jesus do the saving. All we have to do after we come to Jesus, is trust Jesus to save us. Jesus said at Matthew 11:28 Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. In other words, You do the coming and Jesus does the saving. Jesus said at John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. In other words, You do the coming and Jesus does the saving. Finally Hebrews 7:25 says Wherefore He (Jesus) is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him (Jesus) seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them. In other words, You do the coming and Jesus does the saving.

Therefore all it takes is faith in the Lord Jesus to get saved and become a child of God. This is proven by Galatians 3:26 that says For ye are all children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. And the Lord Jesus told us at Isaiah 45:22 Look unto me and be ye saved all the ends of the earth, for I am God, and there is none else. Simply stated, without Jesus we are helpless and can't get saved. This was proven when Jesus said at John 15:5 I am the vine; Ye are the branches; He that abideth in me and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit for without me ye can do nothing.

Unfortunately, many people reject Jesus and don't get saved. Jesus told us that this would happen at John 5:40 when He said And ye will not come to me that ye might have life. Then Jesus prophesied at Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Two Reasons Why People Don't Get Saved
1) People Remain Neutral And Fail To Choose Or Reject Jesus

The first reason why people don't get saved is because they remain neutral and fail to choose or reject Jesus. In other words they are lukewarm and refuse to be either hot or cold. Jesus rejects lukewarm neutral people. Jesus said at Revelation 3:15-16 I know thy works that thou art neither cold nor hot, I would thou wert cold or hot; So then because thou art lukewarm (neutral) and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Note the following example of a lukewarm person. This person goes to the grocery store and has to decide whether to purchase Jif or Skippy peanut butter. While he is pondering whether to choose Jif or Skippy he's neutral and hasn't made a decision which amounts to a rejection. The same thing happens when someone is neutral and refuses to make a decision whether to accept or reject Jesus. While they are pondering whether to accept or reject Jesus they are neutral which amounts to a rejection and loss of salvation.

Don't be a lukewarm neutral person rejecting Jesus. Instead accept Jesus as Lord and trust Jesus to save your soul. Revelation 22:17 tells us And the Spirit and the bride say Come. And let him that heareth say, come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. Don't be neutral and put off trusting Jesus for salvation. Right now is the time to get saved before it's too late if you are reading this. God says at 2 Corinthians 6:2 I have heard thee in a time accepted; and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee; behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

Two Reasons Why People Don't Get Saved
2) People Trust In Their Own Good Works Instead Of Jesus For Salvation

The second reason why people don't get saved is because they trust in their own good works instead of Jesus for salvation. Our good works won't save us; Only faith in Jesus can save us. Galatians 2:20 says I do not frustrate the grace of God, for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. If our good works under the law saved us then Jesus' death on the cross wouldn't matter. But Titus 3:5 says Not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost. 2 Timothy 1:9 says (Jesus) Who hath saved us and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. And finally Ephesians 2:8-9 says For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Simply stated; Joining a church, getting baptized, being a good person, being a good parent, turning over a new leaf, or doing the best you can won't save you. Only trusting in Jesus as your Lord and Saviour can save you. In other words just because I walk down an aisle, shake a six foot spiritual icicle's hand, answer some questions, do some good works, get dunked in the pool and blend in with the crowd that won't save me. Remember just because someone attends church every Sunday won't save them. If I walk into a garage that doesn't make me a car. If I walk into a barn that doesn't make me a mule. And if I walk into a church that doesn't make me a christian. I need to trust Jesus as my Lord and believe that Jesus died for me on the cross, was buried, and rose again to become a christian and get saved.

And the good news is after anyone gets saved, they can not lose their salvation. Proverbs 29:25 promises Whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. 1 Peter 1:5 says Who (saved saints) are kept by the power of God (not their good deeds or works) through faith (in Jesus) unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In other words, it's not you reaching up and holding on for dear life; it's Jesus with His nail pierced hand reaching down and taking a hold of your hand and eternally saving you.

The Following Is A Love Letter That Is All Talk And No Good Works
Instead Let Your Love Letter To Jesus Be Proven By Your Good Works

A man wrote a love letter to his girlfriend saying My dearest darling Suzie Q, I love you so much that from the very first moment I saw you it was love at first sight. I don't know much about writing but let me try in just a few words to pen what you mean to me. He said I love you so much I would hack my way through the densest snake infested jungle to come and spend a moment with you.

He said I would swim the deepest shark infested ocean just to come to the warmth of your smile. Then he waxed eloquent saying I love you so much I would dangle from the slim thread of a rope up the face of a sheer rock cliff and claw my way to the top just to spend a moment in your presence. P.S. I'll be over Wednesday if it doesn't rain.

This letter is all talk and no action. Jesus tells us not to be just hearers of the Word and all talk, but to be doers of the Word and by our good works people will see Jesus and get saved. After anyone gets saved God records all their good deeds and eventually gives them a reward at the bema judgment seat after the rapture. Remember James 1:22-26 But be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the Word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass; For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work; this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Remember Be A Doer And Not Just A Hearer Of The Word
Loving Jesus Is
Following Him Wherever He Leads
Obeying Him Whatever He Asks
And Trusting Him Whatever The Trial

Quit Complaining Start Rejoicing

How EP Scott Missionary To India
Rejoiced For Jesus And Remained Alive
Before Primitive People In The Jungles Of India

EP Scott was a blessed missionary that lived in India in 1875 and daily rejoiced for Jesus. No matter what struggles or hardships he faced, EP Scott remembered to rejoice for Jesus to overcome trouble. Daily he would say James 1:2 Count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations and 1 Thessalonians 5:18 In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Be like EP Scott and learn to rejoice daily in Jesus to remain strong and overcome the troubles of this world. Remember godliness with contentment is great gain and if you have enough food and clothes each day be content and thank Jesus daily. Quit complaining and start rejoicing.

EP Scott always carried his violin everywhere and would love to sing the hymn All Hail The Power Of Jesus Name. He remembered that Ephesians 5:19 said Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. Eventually the words of the blessed hymn All Hail The Power Of Jesus Name would save EP Scott's life from dangerous primitive warriors in the jungles of India. EP Scott wanted to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost primitive tribes of India. One day he set out alone to visit a remote village inhabited by dangerous primitive people. His friends sought to dissuade him saying We will never see you again. But EP Scott said I must carry Jesus to them.

Several days into his journey, Scott was met by a large group of warriors who quickly surrounded him, each one pointing a spear at him. Expecting to die, Scott made a decision to use his last few breaths to rejoice and glorify Jesus, hopefully stirring something within the hearts of his captors. He took out his violin which he always carried on him, closed his eyes, and began to play and sing the hymn All hail the power of Jesus name let angels prostrate fall, bring forth the royal diadem and crown Him Lord of all.

After EP Scott sang the words Let every kindred every tribe on this terrestial ball to Him all majesty ascribe and crown him Lord of all, he realized that he was still standing and that all around him was a peaceful quiet. The blessed words of this hymn caused the natives to drop their spears and begin to cry big tears. Then the savage warriors told EP Scott please tell us more about this blessed God named Jesus. EP Scott rejoiced and decided to live with the primitive savages for around two years. Thousands of the natives of India got saved for Jesus after hearing the preaching of EP Scott.

EP Scott's labors were so richly rewarded that when he was compelled to leave India because of impaired health and return to America, the natives followed him for 40 miles saying Oh missionary please come back to us again. There are tribes beyond us which never heard the glad tidings of salvation. EP Scott could not resist their entreaties; After visiting America, he went back again to continue his labors, till he sank into the grave among them. Like EP Scott, Brother Bob tells everyone reading this all over the earth get saved right now for Jesus; Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe in your heart that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again.

Be Like Miriam And Keep Rejoicing For Jesus

Miriam sang the first joyful song in the bible about Israel's salvation from the bondage of Egypt. According to Exodus 15:20 Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron took a timbrel in her hand and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the Lord, for He hath triumphed gloriously, the horse and his rider hath He thrown into the sea. Like Miriam, we all should rejoice and sing about our salvation with Jesus from the bondage of sin and death. We should all tell Jesus Psalm 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation and uphold me with thy free spirit. In other words, rejoice like Miriam when you remember the day and how Jesus saved your soul. Give your testimony about how Jesus saved you to overcome the devil according to Revelation 12:11.

Unfortunately today most people rejoice about their money, getting a new car, or getting a new home. But everyone needs to get saved for Jesus and rejoice that with Jesus we don't have to go to hell, but instead have everlasting life in peace forever. Remember Nehemiah 8:10 says that the joy of the Lord (not anything in this fading world) is your strength. And whenever you feel like grumbling, complaining, or mourning say Isaiah 61:3 that says when anyone mourns, Jesus will give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He might be glorified.

Quit Complaining Start Rejoicing
I'd rather be janitor of a candy store
Than the President of a pickle factory

Your worst day with Jesus is better than
Your best day as a sinner in the world

Rejoice Because The Lord Jesus In The North Will Win The Final Battle
Promotion And Victory Are With Jesus In The Highest North

According to Psalm 75:6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God (Jesus in the highest north) is the judge; He putteth down one and setteth up another. Therefore the Lord Jesus in the highest north will win the final battle and be the King of peace on this earth for 1000 years and forevermore in God's kingdom.  Promotion will soon be given to the saved saints with Jesus forevermore in the highest north above all principalities and powers.

Throughout history northern countries have always won battles in war. Babylon north of Egypt conquered Egypt. Assyria north of Babylon conquered Babylon. Greece and Alexander the Great north of Assyria conquered Assyria. Rome north of Greece conquered Greece. The Vandals, Goths, Visigoths, and Huns located in Germany north of Rome conquered Rome. After World War II, England and Russia allies with America north of Germany and Japan conquered Germany and Japan. The north beat the south in the American Civil War.  North Vietnam won the war against South Vietnam. North Korea did not lose the war against South Korea. But rejoice because the Lord Jesus who is north of every nation and people will conquer everything, win the final battle, and be King of this earth for 1000 glorious years during the millennium.

Rejoice because the devil who wanted to exalt his throne on the sides of the north above the stars of God shall be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. The devil said at Isaiah 14:13 I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

According to Ezekial 1:4, the Lord Jesus is in the highest north far above the devil and will forever be victorious. This blessed scripture says And I looked, and behold, a whirlwind (defined as the Holy Spirit that is one with God and Jesus) came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire. Yes, the Lord Jesus is in the highest north far above everything in victory proven by Ephesians 1:21 that says the Lord Jesus is far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. And hath put all things under His feet; and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church.

Billy Bray's Incredible Testimony

How An Uneducated Drunk Named Billy Bray
Got Saved For Jesus

Billy Bray was born in Cornwall England in 1794. When Billy became seventeen he embarked upon a life of drunkenness, fighting, theft, and many other sins narrowly escaping imprisonment and death. His wife Joanna also lived a sinful life. They both had reputations as the most wicked and evil people alive in England. One day a christian friend working by Billy in a coal mine gave Billy a book by John Bunyan titled Visions Of Heaven And Hell.

In 1823 after reading the book Visions Of Heaven And Hell, Billy decided to live a better life and learn about our Lord Jesus. Billy took his bible and hymn book, went upstairs, and spent the entire day in reading and prayer. After days and nights of seeking Jesus in prayer, Billy Bray got gloriously saved and became a new man altogether. The next day Billy's wife Joanna also got gloriously saved. Like Billy and Joanna Bray, you also can experience salvation and joy with Jesus. Get saved right now; Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again.

After Salvation Everyone Called Billy Bray God's Man With A Shout
Anytime You Saw Billy Bray He Was Smiling, Singing, And Shouting For Jesus

After Billy Bray got saved, Billy said I cannot express what I felt; I shouted for joy; Everything looked new to me; The people, the fields, the cattle, the trees; I was like a man in a new world. Wherever Billy preached or traveled, Billy would shout, leap, and dance for Jesus. People would tell Billy, there's no need to leap, dance, and make a lot of noise for Jesus. God's not deaf and God knows your heart.

Billy replied the devil's not deaf either and his sinners also make a lot of noise. Therefore I'm always gonna shout praises to Jesus everywhere. I shouted for the devil and I'm gonna shout louder for Jesus. Like Billy Bray, people have told Brother Bob you talk too much about Jesus. Brother Bob replies Correction I need to talk more about Jesus and thanks for the compliment while I leap for joy for everyone to see.

Billy Bray Would Tell Everyone This Blessed Quote

Jesus has made me glad and no one can make me sad
Jesus makes me shout and no one can make me doubt
Jesus makes me dance and leap and there's no one that can keep down my feet

Whenever you met Billy Bray, Billy was dancing, leaping, and shouting praises to Jesus. Whenever Billy Bray heard that anyone got saved for Jesus, Billy would shout Glory. Then Billy would pick up the saved person and leap with them for joy spinning and twirling for Jesus all around the room. One of Billy's favorite bible verses that made him always rejoice was Isaiah 12:1 that says And in that day, thou shalt say, O Lord, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.

Blessed Testimonies About Billy Bray
1) The Story About The Bridge Billy Bray Walked On

Billy Bray told everyone wherever I walk, when I lift up one foot it seems to say Glory To God and when I lift up the other foot it seems to say Praise The Lord and they keep on like that all the time I am walking. Therefore, whenever you saw Billy Bray walking, he was always saying Glory To God Praise The Lord. One night Billy was walking across a stone bridge saying Glory To God Praise The Lord.

His friends decided to play a joke on Billy while hiding under the bridge. When the friends heard Billy walking on the bridge praising Jesus, they yelled through a bullhorn Billy this is the devil I'm right under the bridge. And without missing a step, Billy said Bless God I didn't know you were that far away Glory To God Praise The Lord. We all need to be like Billy Bray and in everything give thanks. Don't ever let the devil steal your joy. Always keep praising Jesus and say Psalm 113:3 From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, the Lord's name is to be praised. Then proclaim Psalm 51:15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.

Like Billy Bray Let Your Life Always Display The Following Three Sayings

Rejoice evermore
In everything give thanks
Pray without ceasing

2) The Story About The Empty Potato Barrel

In everything and through everything Billy Bray always kept praising the Lord Jesus. One day after Billy Bray ran out of potatos, when he stuck his head into an empty potato barrel, Billy yelled Glory To God an empty potato barrel. And one minute later, a truck stopped by in front of Billy's home where a friend said Billy, Jesus told me to give you a bushel of potatos.

3) The Story About A Dress For Joanna Bray In A Basket

One day Billy Bray bought a dress for his wife Joanna Bray and put it in a basket to carry home. While dancing happily and praising Jesus on his way home, Billy did not see the dress come out of the basket. When Billy got home his wife told him that the dress you bought me is not in the basket. Billy joyfully replied Glory to God I danced the dress out of the basket.

The next day Billy Bray told his church that he danced a dress out of a basket. The church took up an offering and gave Billy another dress for his wife. But then two days later, someone found Billy's lost dress and gave it to Billy. Billy rejoiced and told everyone Glory to God I got two dresses for one.

4) The Story of How Billy Bray Used All His Money To Help A Farmer Buy A Cow

Billy Bray once found two little orphan children ( a boy and a girl) whose mother had died and whose father had run away. Billy added them to his own four children and he and Joanna brought them up in their own family till they could earn their own living. One day the little orphan girl got sick and Billy needed to take money to the doctor to get medicine for the little orphan girl.

Billy only had 37 cents to pay the doctor for the medicine. This would be like 37 dollars today in American money. On the way to the doctor's office, Billy heard a man crying behind a hedge who was a farmer. The poor farmer was crying because one of his cows died. Billy gave that farmer the 37 cents to buy a new cow.

And after Billy gave the 37 cents to the farmer, Billy said there's no sense now to visit the doctor. Well Glory To God Praise The Lord; I'll just jump over the hedge, go back home, and trust Jesus to heal my little orphan daughter. And when Billy got back home, the little orphan girl was totally healed. Billy was always giving away money trusting that Jesus promised give and it will be given to me good measure pressed down shaken together and running over will men give to my bosom. People said Billy Bray could not keep two hats two days if he knew a brother in Jesus in want of one.

5) The Story Of How Billy Bray Used All His Money To Build A Church
And Kept Praising Jesus After His Wife Joanna Died

One day the doctor told Billy and Joanna Bray that their little orphan boy had an incurable disease. Billy saved up a little money to prepare for the burial and funeral for this little orphan boy. Then one Sunday at church, the members needed more money to build the church pictured above. Billy Bray decided to give away all the money he saved for the little orphan boy to help build this church. Eventually, the little orphan boy got miraculously healed, grew up, got married, and had 10 children.

Billy Bray always praised Jesus and never let any trouble steal his joy. When Billy's wife Joanna died, Billy was leaping for joy on his furniture and all around his house. Everyone thought Billy had lost his mind. But Billy told everyone O Glory To God; Isn't it wonderful; Isn't it wonderful; Just think my wife's gone home to be with the angels. My dear wife has gone up with the bright ones. She's escaped earth's toils and sufferings to rest in the bliss of heaven.

Like Billy Bray We Need To Learn To Always Praise God
Through Everything With A Sacrifice Of Thanksgiving

Billy Bray Gave Jesus A Sacrifice Of Thanksgiving Saying
The kid's sick-OK Praise God
The kid's dying-OK Praise God
The wife's dead-OK Praise God
Billy Bray didn't let anything stop him from praising Jesus
because the joy of the Lord is our strength

Like Billy Bray in everything (not for everything) give thanks and always keep praising Jesus with a sacrifice of thanksgiving. My friend Brother Carl used to say even when you don't feel like praising Jesus, praise Jesus anyway and wave your hands at Jesus. Hebrews 13:15 tells us By Him (Jesus) therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name. And Psalm 116:17 says I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.

6) The Story About A Candelabra And How To Pray

Someone once asked Billy Bray How long should we pray at a time to stay healthy
Billy pointed to a candelabra that needed polishing and said
If you give it a rub every 5 minutes you'll keep it bright
But if you don't rub it a long time, it'll take a long rub to get it bright again

7) The Story About The Day Billy Bray Died Rejoicing To Be With Jesus

Till the age of 73, Billy Bray danced, leaped, and shouted his way through each day praising our Lord Jesus. He told the doctor on his death bed, when I get to heaven doctor can I give everyone there your compliments and tell them that you'll be coming to peaceful heaven soon. At the time the doctor was not saved but years later this doctor got saved because of Billy's witness on his death bed. And Billy Bray's final word was Glory when he died on May 25, 1868.

Blessed Testimonies About Billy Bray
8) Billy Bray's Favorite Scriptures About Why We Should Always Praise Jesus

Billy Bray told everyone the following scriptures about why he always praised Jesus with a loud joyful shout. Billy said every time I seek the Lord I get happy because 1 Chronicles 16:10 says Glory ye in His holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord. And Billy said that I always rejoice in Jesus because Psalm 30:11 says Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

Then Billy Bray told everyone that I'll keep leaping joyfully everywhere for Jesus because Jeremiah 31:13 says Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and I will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow. And Isaiah 61:3 tells us To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He might be glorified.

When Billy Bray would shout praises everywhere, people would say Billy you're a mad man. Billy would reply I'm a glad man and Glory To God Praise The Lord I'm a glad man forevermore because Psalm 40:2 says He (Jesus) brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

Billy Bray said I want to be like Pastor Edward Payson who said If men only knew the honour and glory that awaited them in Jesus, they would go about the streets shouting I am a christian saved by Jesus that men might rejoice with them in the blessedness of which they were soon to partake. Billy Bray told everyone even though I don't see Jesus, I always rejoice and praise Jesus because 1 Peter 1:8 says Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory. And Philippians 4:4 tells us Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say rejoice. And remember James 1:2 tells us My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations.

Below Are The Words Of Billy Brays Favorite Hymn About Glory
Hark How the Heralds Of The Lord
Sing The Words And Receive Strength, Peace, And Joy

Hark how the heralds of the Lord
To endless joys invite us
Proclaim the everlasting Word
That to our God unites us
They cry to all the world to come
Your Saviour's gone before you
Return ye ransomed sinners home
To glory, glory, glory

Gross darkness flies before the sun
Back to the pit retiring
To us the glorious light is come
With hope our souls inspiring
Mercy and grace for all our race
Through Jesus is the story
There we may see Him face to face
In glory, glory, glory

Numbers increase from day to day
In Jesus' cause uniting
Sorrow and darkness flee away
His love their hearts delighting
Ethiopian lands stretch out their hands
Hearing the pleasant story
And thousands march from distant lands
To glory, glory, glory

Lepers are cleansed, the dead are raised
The lame now walk before Him
The dumb are taught to sing His praise
The blind see and adore Him
The rich, the poor, the young, the old
The infant, and the hoary
They all through Christ their crown insure
In glory, glory, glory

Then let us rally around the cross
Despising worldly pleasure
And gladly reckon all things loss
For Christ our hidden treasure
Rejoice and sing, The Lord is King
And we'll repeat the story
We'll make the heavenly mansions ring
With songs of glory, glory
