Encouraging Words From Isaiah 25:4 To Overcome Depression
How to overcome a blast of wind when you are safe behind God's wall
Today I want my friends everywhere to say and memorize a blessed promise to all saints from Isaiah 25:4. The blessed scripture says For thou (Jesus) hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall. Wow what a blessed scripture; I pray in Jesus name that anyone who reads this will immediately receive from Jesus strength if they are poor, needy and in distress.
Also how encouraging to know that Jesus is our refuge from the storm and shadow from the heat. In other words Jesus will take care of you and protect you from rain, snow storms, and excessive heat. Friends all you need to overcome the troubles around us is answered in one Word Jesus. Don't be afraid of coronavirus or any violence around you. Say the promise of Psalm 46 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.
Now notice that God is our wall of protection stated at Isaiah 25:4 when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall (God's protection for saints). Today the blast around us all is coronavirus, rioting, and violence. But remember that these terrible blasts of wind against God's wall can not harm any believer in Jesus. God controls these troubled winds because Proverbs 30:4 tells us God hath gathered the wind in his fists. In other words, when the troubled winds around us are like raging horses, God has these troubled winds harnessed, bridled, muzzled, and under his control. Remember Jesus lives in you if you are saved and will rise up and say to your troubled winds Peace Be Still and will calm all your storms and make them disappear.
Friend reading this anywhere, right now get behind God's wall of protection and be saved from all your troubles with Jesus. Repent, confess Jesus to be your Lord, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again. Once you get saved, you can tell the devil that no matter how loud you blast or growl, Jesus is my wall of protection and will silence all trouble around me. Remember God is our wall of protection that remains standing after any blast of troubled wind. Wind can beat on a ship and toss the ship but when any wind beats on God's wall, God's wall is not moved and remains standing.
Remember all you need is Jesus to overcome any trouble or problem. Just look to Jesus crucified every day and say I am crucified with Christ and when any problem is placed by faith on the cross (the same yesterday, today, and forever) I promise you it will disappear. Isaiah 32:2 promises us that a man (Jesus) shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
Finally, Zechariah 2:5 also tells us that the Lord Jesus is our wall of fire for protection. This blessed scripture says For I, saith the Lord, will be unto her (believers in Jesus), a wall of fire round about and will be the glory in the midst of her. This reminds me of when Elisha and his servant Gehazi were surrounded by enemy Syrian soldiers and seemed to be outnumbered. But Elisha told Gehazi Fear not for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. There were angels all around Elisha and Gehazi that formed a wall of fire for their protection and the bright light of the angels blinded the enemy and stopped all trouble.
Encouraging Words From Isaiah 25:8 To Overcome Depression
Next we see some more encouraging words from Isaiah 25:8 to overcome depression. This blessed scripture says He (Jesus) will swallow up death in victory and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall He take away from off all the earth; for the Lord hath spoken it. In other words, in God's kingdom there will be no more death, hearses, graveyards, or funerals. Revelation 21:4 promises And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.
Also notice that Isaiah 25:8 promises that soon God will take away all the rebuke against any christian. In other words, soon God's people will no longer be made fun of. The bible tells us that a sign that we are saved is when we suffer persecution for living godly. 2 Timothy 3:12 tells us Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. If everyone speaks well of you, you probably are not living godly. This is because the world and its sinners are enemies of God.
Now rejoice and say this scripture if you are being persecuted for believing in Jesus; 1 Peter 4:16 Yet if any man suffer as a christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. Remember Matthew 5:11 says Blessed (happy) are ye when men shall revile you and persecute you and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake. Rejoice and be exceeding glad, for great is your reward in heaven for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
To anyone reading this; if you have been persecuted for believing in Jesus and it seems like all your friends have deserted you, remember you are like Paul and can say Jesus will never leave me nor forsake me. Jesus will be your friend forever and will always be there to help you. Be encouraged and read Paul's testimony at 2 Timothy 4:16 At my first answer no man stood with me but all men forsook me; I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge. Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me and strengthened me that by me the preaching might be fully known and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
Encouraging Words From Isaiah 25:9 To Overcome Depression
Finally, let's look at some encouraging words from Isaiah 25:9 and learn that while we wait for Jesus to return in the clouds to snatch us out of this troubled world we can have joy and strength while we wait. The blessed scripture says And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God, we have waited for Him and He will save us; this is the Lord we have waited for Him; we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.
Usually when someone meets a good friend after a long wait, there is much joy and rejoicing for years. All the saints of Jesus have been waiting for a long time to see Jesus. According to Isaiah 25:9 when the saints finally see Jesus they will rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory. Jesus said it is like a woman giving birth to a baby. After the baby is born, the woman forgets all her troubles and pain. And after the saints see Jesus, they will forget all their worldly troubles and rejoice forevermore with Jesus in the kingdom. This is proven when God said at Isaiah 65:17 For behold I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
Now while you are waiting for Jesus to return to this earth, here's some more encouraging scriptures to give you strength and peace. When you don't know what to do to fix a problem, be like Jehoshaphat and keep your eyes on Jesus. When Jehoshaphat faced trouble he said at 2 Chronicles 20:12 O our God wilt thou not judge them for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do; But our eyes are upon thee. Just by looking at Jesus crucified by faith with your heart instead of your troubles will give you victory over this troubled world. Like Peter when you are surrounded by trouble, keep your eyes on Jesus and you will get victory over any trouble.
Finally, another way to have peace and strength while waiting for Jesus, is to keep thinking on Jesus daily. Jesus is the Word so keep memorizing the bible and hide the word in your heart so you don't sin. Philippians 4:8 tells us what to think about. It says Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things. In other words think on Jesus who is true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, of virtue, and to be praised forevermore.
