Revelations About The Blessed Name Of Jesus

Today we will learn why the name of Jesus is better than any other name. The name of Jesus is one of unrivaled excellence and preeminence. No human on earth, no matter how great can equal the height, stature, the power, or the wonder of the name of Jesus Christ. The bible declares that the name of Jesus is the name above every name. Philippians 2:9 proclaims Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him (Jesus) and given Him a name which is above every name.

Right now praise our Lord Jesus as you say according to Ephesians 1:21 the name of Jesus is far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. And hath put all things under his feet and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church. John the Baptist also proclaimed that the name of Jesus is above any name at John 3:31 that says He (Jesus) that cometh from above is above all; he that is of the earth is earthly and speaketh of the earth; He that cometh from heaven (Jesus) is above all.

OK pictured above let's see how the perfect and sinless Lord Jesus is better than many great men of the bible. Jesus was perfect and sinless, while many great men of the bible had flaws. Noah was a preacher of righteousness in the great dark antideluvian days but we find that Noah got drunk. Abraham was called a friend of God and yet he disappointed God by telling a lie to Abimelech that his wife Sarah was a sister. Jacob who dreamed about angels and was strong in his love toward Rachel was crooked as a barrel of fishhooks and slick as a pile of eels when he lied to Isaac to receive a blessing from the Lord.

Moses was magnificent and mighty and yet he displeased God by smiting the rock and was denied entrance into the promised land. David was a marvelously versatile man, a military genius, a great poet, and a great musician, but he staked his crown for a woman Bathsheba's embrace and committed murder against her husband Uriah the Hittite to cover up his sin of adultery. Samson was a judge in Israel for twenty years, but Samson was snared and sheared by a beautiful wicked woman named Delilah. Many men like Samson today are snared and sheared of spiritual power by wicked beautiful women like Delilah. Proverbs 31:30 tells us Favour is deceitful, and beauty is in vain; but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

Elijah yawned on Mount Carmel and called down fire from heaven and had a great victory over the prophets of Baal, but under the juniper tree he had despondent cowardice and wanted to die, hidden away from the witch Jezebel. John the Baptist who said Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world and buried Jesus in beautiful baptism in the rolling tides of the Jordan river displayed despondent questionings about the Lord Jesus after King Herod placed him in a prison cell for preaching about Herod's sin of marrying his brother Philip's wife.

Many great men of the bible had flaws, but the bible proclaims that Jesus was perfect, sinless, and had no faults. Truly Jesus is the name above all names. Note the following bible scriptures proclaiming that only Jesus was perfect and had no sin. Pictured above Hebrews 4:15 says For we have not an high priest (Jesus) which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 1 John 3:5 tells us And ye know that He (Jesus) was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin. 1 Peter 2:21-22 says For even hereunto were you called; because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps; Who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth. Humanity has never reversed the verdict that Governor Pilate gave when he washed his hands and said I tell you I find no fault in Him (Jesus).

We learn from this bible study that the only good thing in us is Jesus. People might have flaws but Jesus chooses to work through imperfect sinners like you and me. The reason God works through flawed sinners is so only Jesus gets the glory. The bible tells us But we have this treasure (Jesus) in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. As you read the list below of the many people in the bible who had faults that God used, remember the blood of Jesus removes your sins, and let God use you to tell people to be saved, repent, make Jesus God of their life, and believe daily that Jesus died for them on the cross, was buried, and rose again.

A LIST OF GREAT PEOPLE IN THE BIBLE WHO HAD FLAWS
THAT GOD USED TO BLESS PEOPLE
SO ONLY JESUS AS GOD GOT THE GLORY

Noah who got drunk
Moses who stuttered and had a short fuse
Miriam who was a gossip
Amos whose only training occurred at the school of fig tree pruning
Jonah who ran from God
Jacob who was a liar
Elijah who was burned out
Jeremiah who was a bullfrog (just kidding)
who was depressed and suicidal
Gideon and Thomas who both doubted
Solomon who was too rich
Abraham who was too old
David who was too young
Paul who along with Moses was a murderer
Martha who worried about household chores
Lazarus who was dead
Peter who was afraid of death and denied Jesus three times
John Mark who was rejected by Paul

Notice pictured above the many names for God in the bible that represent the blessed name of Jesus. Jehovah Nissi (Jesus our banner for victory by His blood over the devil), Jehovah Raah (Jesus our shepherd that watches over his saints as sheep), Jehovah Raphah (Jesus our healer who by His stripes heals all diseases), Jehovah Shammah (Jesus is there and never leaves us nor forsakes us), Jehovah Hoseenu (Jesus the Lord our Maker because Colossians 1:16-17 says all things were created by Him (Jesus) and for Him and He is before all things and by Him all things consist).

Jehovah Tsidkenu and Jehovah Mekaddesh (Jesus our righteousness and sanctification proclaimed at 1 Corinthians 1:30 that says But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption), Jehovah Jireh (Jesus our provider who supplies all our needs), Jehovah Sabaoth (Jesus our Lord of hosts as the captain general of the hosts of soldier angels in the army of God), Jehovah Shalom (Jesus our prince of peace that blesses us with the peace that passeth all understanding) and Jehovah Elyon (Jesus as the Lord most high and name above every name).

THE HARDEST WORD FOR PEOPLE TO PRONOUNCE
TO RECEIVE A BLESSING
IS NOT
CONSTANTINOPLE, MESOPOTAMIA, OR SASSAPARILLA
IT'S
NO

For my final thought we learn that pictured above we have to just say no to get blessed. The word no is the hardest word for people to pronounce instead of Constantinople, Mesopotamia, or sassaparilla. But if we would just say no to the sins of this world, Jesus would greatly bless us.

Read below about some great men of the bible that got blessed by just saying no. Joseph in Egypt said no to the proposals of Potipher's wife and avoided the sin of adultery. As a result, God blessed Joseph to be released from prison to be a great leader in Egypt with great power. Daniel in Babylon said no to eating the king's meat and drinking the king's wine and was blessed with better health than the Babylonians.

Moses said no to Pharoah's daughter when he came of age and went out and chose to suffer affliction with the children of God than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. He esteemed the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt. As a result, Moses and the children of Israel were blessed to be delivered from the bondage of Pharoah and Egypt. Jesus said no to all of the temptations of the devil in the wilderness and on the temple top. As a result, Jesus was blessed to be King of kings and Lord of lords having the name above all names.

The bible records that Saul sought to kill David by throwing spears at him while he chased him as a hound would hunt for a rabbit. One night David and Abishai found Saul asleep with his spear by his side. And Abishai said to David Now is your chance. This is your enemy. Let's kill him. Let me smite him; I'll pin him to the ground with one thrust of the spear. David said no; David spared Saul when he could have speared Saul. David said no to spearing and yes to sparing.

Friend reading this anywhere like Jesus, David, Moses, Joseph and Daniel, say no to the sins of this world and yes to serving our Lord Jesus. Say no daily to the sinful desires of your flesh and remember that Jesus said at Luke 9:23 If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. Say no to the sins of this world and remember 1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. Finally say no to the devil and remember Ephesians 4:27 Neither give place to the devil.

As always, it is a blessing to write these bible studies that I pray in Jesus name bless multitudes on this earth with peace and great strength.
