For today's bible lesson Brother Bob wants to state how important it is for us to be humble and only exalt the Lord Jesus and not ourselves daily. If you look at the picture above you will see King Nebuchadnezzar who learned to be humble and not boast that he built Babylon by his might without the Lord Jesus. Nebuchadnezzar's boasting and pride made his body wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws as he lost his reason for seven years. The only way Nebuchadnezzar's reason and kingdom was restored to him was when he acknowledged the Lord as the builder of Babylon proving that when anyone humbles and denies himself, giving glory only to Jesus as Lord, a blessing will occur. 1 Corinthians 1:31 says That according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
Take time to read the wise words of King Nebuchadnezzar at Daniel 4:37 that says Now I, Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and His ways judgment; and those that walk in pride He is able to abase. Notice that Nebuchadnezzar warns us all that when a person is proud he will be abased and humbled by the Lord Jesus. DL Moody stated it is wisdom for a man to humble himself and only glorify the Lord Jesus daily to escape the necessity of being humbled.1 Corinthians 10:12 warns us all Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
Also, note that 1 Corinthians 8:2 says And if any man think that he knoweth anything, he knoweth nothing as he ought to know. Brother Bob has always told people the more I know the less I know, realizing that when someone says they know all about Jesus, they can not grow anymore because the wisdom of Jesus is infinite as proven by John 21:25. John 21:25 tells us And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen. Hallelujah, Brother Bob states that all the wisdom in this book from Brother Bob is like a little dot compared to the vast infinite ocean of knowledge that exists forever about Jesus. Saint reading this keep searching the Word and looking for Jesus daily and you will never be bored with the infinite wisdom of Jesus as you daily learn new revelations that glorify the Lord Jesus making joy abound to every area of your life.
For my next example we see King Saul pictured above being reminded by the prophet Samuel that he was allowed to be king only when he was little (humble) in his own sight where only the Lord Jesus was glorified. Unfortunately, King Saul became proud and made sacrifices and decisions without consulting the Lord, and as a result lost his anointing and position as king. 1 Samuel 15:17 tells us And Samuel said, when thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the Lord anointed thee king over Israel? Saint take time to think on Psalm 84:10 that says For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand, I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. Meditate on this gem from DL Moody that says it is more blessed to be at the lowest position in the house of God as a lowly doorkeeper than to live as the most rich exalted emperor in an elegant palace in this wicked world.
Meditate on the following scriptures that prove that blessings only happen when the Lord Jesus is exalted as we daily humble ourselves. 1 Peter 5:5 says Likewise ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder; Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility; for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time. Let us all be like the apostle Paul and recite 1 Corinthians 15:10 that says But by the grace of God, I am what I am. Hallelujah, Paul acknowledged that it was the grace of God and not himself that made him what he is. I pray also in Jesus name that all my friends in the nations everywhere can say along with John the Baptist about Jesus at John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
Also, note another revelation Jesus showed Brother Bob about what causes pride. Pride not only occurs when a person boasts in himself without Jesus, but also occurs when a person looks at and lifts up others around him instead of glorfying the Lord Jesus. 2 Corinthians 10:12 warns us all and says For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves, but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. These people who compare themselves to others lose wisdom which is Jesus for Jesus is wisdom at 1 Corinthians 1:30. Note that 2 Corinthians 13:5 tells us to examine ourselves instead of looking at others to avoid becoming reprobates and losing our minds. 2 Corinthians 13:5 says Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves, know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
Since this bible study is about being humble, my friends everywhere as you look at Jesus pictured above, glorify Jesus for being our best example of humility as he states to the Father at Luke 22:42 nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. Friend, Jesus was our perfect example of humility and was willing to die on the cross for you, taking away all your problems forevermore as you daily remember Jesus crucified with your heart. I pray in Jesus name that everyone reading this bible study can daily say to the Father like the Lord Jesus, not my will, but thine, be done.
Jesus was exalted and blessed for being humble and dying for us all on the cross. Jesus is our example and we all should learn to be meek and lowly like Jesus giving all glory to God which will produce rest, peace, and blessings. This is proven by Philippians 2:8 that says And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore, God also hath highly exalted Him and given Him a name which is above every name. Matthew 11:28 says Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Note, Jesus tells us to receive rest, learn the lesson of being meek and lowly in heart daily as you exalt the Lord Jesus only.
Another bible verse that shows how Jesus was blessed for being humble and dying on the cross for our sins is Hebrews 2:9 that says But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Note that the Word of God states to be humble daily and bless others around you. Jesus showed Brother Bob that when we are concerned about others needs, our needs will automatically be taken care of. I used to tell other people when you get on a bus, let others get on before you, and you eventually will get a blessing and be allowed to get on the bus. Philippians 2:3 says Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Finally, note that according to 2 Chronicles 7:14, the first thing we must do for God to hear us is to daily humble ourselves. 2 Chronicles 7:14 tells us If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
To end up today's bible study Brother Bob wants to testify that after 30 years of salvation, each day brings new revelations in the Word of God about our Lord Jesus. The other day Brother Bob discovered a precious gem in the Word of God at Isaiah 45:3 which I encourage all my friends everywhere to memorize. I encourage all my friends in the many nations to open their bibles to Isaiah 45:3 and I claim in Jesus name for all who forevermore read this bible study the promise of Isaiah 45:3 from our Lord Jesus that says And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
Let me state to all my friends everywhere that Jesus is greater than all the silver, gold, or choicest treasures of this world. Psalm 119:72 tells us The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver. A puritan Oliver Heywood in 1629 said a mountain of gold and silver heaped as high as heaven is not as rich a treasure as the Word of God or Jesus. We should all rejoice in Jesus for his word like a gold miner rejoices when he discovers gold worth millions of dollars. Psalm 119:162 say I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil. Finally, read these other scriptures showing that we should rejoice in Jesus as one that rejoices in great riches. Psalm 119:14 says I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. Psalm 119:111 says Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever; for they are the rejoicing of my heart.
