Be like the little children in the picture above who realize that only Jesus can be trusted in this life. Jesus said at Matthew 19:14 Suffer (allow) little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for such is the kingdom of heaven. Like the little children above making Jesus their only hope, let's all remember Psalm 121:1: I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. Hebrews 13:6 says So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Our own strength and thoughts will fail and only faith daily in Jesus Christ crucified with our hearts will deliver us from trouble. The Word of God tells us that we can not trust in ourselves. 2 Corinthians 1:9 says But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead. But whosoever trusts in the Lord Jesus will overcome any trouble. Proverbs 3:5 says Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel (calm your nerves) and marrow to thy bones (strengthening your body like a cup of refreshing cold water).
Proverbs 25:25 tells us that the cup of refreshing cold water is the gospel that strengthens us when we trust the Lord Jesus to fix any problem. As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country. The good news is the gospel (the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ noted at 1 Corinthians 15:1-4) that is so refreshing as a cup of cold water to a thirsty soul. Romans 1:16 says For I am not ashamed of the gospel (good news) of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Only Jesus can be trusted to overcome the devil and any trouble. DL Moody wrote that friends can not be trusted because friends can die, leave us, turn against us, and not deliver us. People that trust in becoming famous with a popular reputation can be disappointed by a slandering tongue. Wealth, gold, and silver can not be trusted because money and riches will take wings and fly away. Proverbs 23:5 says Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven. Ezekiel 7:19 says They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.
Get saved and trust Jesus to overcome the devil and any trouble in this world. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. Numbers 23:19 tells us that when we trust the Lord Jesus, Jesus will fix all our problems and deliver us from the devil and this troubled world. God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?
People change, places change, families change, and nature changes. But the Lord Jesus never changes and will always be with you to bless you and overcome any trouble. Malachi 3:6 says For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. Psalm 16:8 says I have set the Lord always before me: because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Hebrews 13:5 says Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He (the Lord Jesus) hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Notice the picture above where Elisha was rewarded with a double portion of the Spirit because he continued to seek a blessing from Elijah. Elisha received a double portion of the Spirit from Elijah's mantle that fell to the ground from the chariot of fire that took Elijah to heaven. When we trust in Jesus, we should say with Elisha at 2 Kings 2:2 As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee Lord Jesus.
Notice the cities at 2 Kings 2:2 that Elisha had to travel through to receive a double portion of the Spirit. First Gilgal (rolling wheel) where saints must keep moving daily for Jesus and not be lazy doing nothing. Second Bethel (the house of God) where saints must fellowship with other believers at their local church to receive power to overcome the devil and this troubled world. Third Jericho (moon or a dark place) where saints must ignore the dark persecutions in their lives while they continually praise Jesus. Finally Jordan (descending) where saints must be willing to humble themselves so that Jesus can exalt them in due season. Proverbs 18:12 says Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.
Be like Elisha and keep seeking the Lord Jesus daily with your whole heart to find and receive blessings. Jeremiah 29:13 says And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Notice Job's faith and determination to trust in the Lord Jesus when his own wife told him to curse God and die while Job suffered with boils all over his body scraping the boils off with a potsherd. Job said at Job 13:15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in Him. 2 Timothy 1:12 says For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day. Philippians 1:6 says Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
When we continue to trust Jesus to overcome the devil and any trouble, we will be rewarded with peace, good health, and many blessings. Job 22:21 says Acquaint now thyself with Him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. Psalm 9:10 says And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. Isaiah 26:3 says Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.

When anyone trusts Jesus for salvation they will not be rejected because Jesus saves whosoever takes the water of life (Jesus) freely. Revelation 22:17 says And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever (note the bible says whosoever and this speaks to anyone who reads this bible study forevermore) will, let him take the water of life freely. God's Word is true and the Lord Jesus will not cast away anyone that comes to Him for everlasting life and eternal blessings. John 6:37 says All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
It doesn't matter who you are or where you are reading this bible study. You will be saved if you repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. Jesus will save whosoever comes to Him by faith. Romans 10:13 says For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Like King David say Psalm 116:13. I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord (Jesus). When Brother Bob gets to the kingdom of God, I hope to see all the souls that were saved in the many nations that read Brother Bob's book for Jesus. This gives Brother Bob's life fulfillment and causes Brother Bob to rejoice while he preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ everywhere on this earth. I must rejoice and testify that Brother Bob's book for Jesus is now being seen by the Aborigines in the Australian outback, the Indians in the Brazilian jungle, and the Eskimos in northern Manitoba Canada.
Notice some more blessings that christians receive when they trust Jesus to overcome the devil and this troubled world. Psalm 91:14 says Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. Jesus is so good and gives us much more than our requests. Psalm 21:4 says that when King David asked for life, King David received length of days for ever and ever. King David received much more than his request. Psalm 21:4 says He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.
Let's learn what is on the hem of the robe of our High priest Jesus. Did you know that pomegranates and golden bells pictured above were on the hem of the high priest's robe when the high priest went into the holy place to minister to receive mercy for the sins of the people? The high priest would shake his robe making the golden bells ring to let the people know that the high priest was alive. The Lord Jesus is our high priest forever and has sprinkled His own blood on the mercy seat in heaven to remove our sins. The golden bells are ringing forevermore in heaven because Jesus our High Priest has arisen from the dead and is alive forever in the kingdom of God.
Exodus 28:33 speaks about the picture above. And beneath upon the hem of it thou shalt make pomegranates of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, round about the hem thereof; and bells of gold between them round about: A golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the hem of the robe round about. And it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and his sound shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before the Lord, and when he cometh out, that he die not.
And the good news is that Jesus who is our high priest forevermore, unlike earthly priests of ancient times, constantly prays for all believers and saints to be blessed and overcome this world. Hebrews 7:25 says Wherefore He (the Lord Jesus) is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens.
God hears and answers righteous Jesus' prayers because James 5:16 says Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man (Jesus) availeth much. 1 Corinthians 1:30 tells us that Jesus is righteousness.
Notice the picture above of the father of the prodigal son running to his son and receiving him again into his family. Now note that the father ran to the lost son who returned home. Like the prodigal son, get saved and come to Jesus. The Lord Jesus will run to you, save you, and bless you greatly. Luke 15:20 says And he (the prodigal son) arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry.
Be like the prodigal son and return to the Lord Jesus who will remove your sins and bless you with peace. Hosea 14:1 speaks about blessings you will receive when you return to the Lord Jesus. O Israel, return unto the Lord thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity. Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto Him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy. I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him. I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon. His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon. They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.
Jeremiah speaks about blessings you receive when you return to the Lord Jesus. Jeremiah 3:12 says Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the Lord; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the Lord, and I will not keep anger for ever. Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the Lord thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the Lord. Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion.
