The Sparrow, The Eagle, And The Ostrich (Struthio camelus)

Notice the picture above of a tiny little sparrow on a housetop looking everywhere for food. Notice the cute little feet of the sparrow holding onto the rooftop and his eyes looking everywhere for food to satisfy his hunger. This picture occurs at Psalm 102:7 that says I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.

A puritan writer in 1654 wrote Observe the sparrow upon the top of a house looketh on this side, and that side of the house, it looketh this way, and that way, and round about, if he can spy any food, and when it can see any food, it flieth quickly to that place and pecks up the food.

Let's be like this little sparrow and keep looking on this side, on that side, this way, that way, and round about for the Lord Jesus and the Word of God. The Word of God is food for our souls. Matthew 4:4 says But he (Jesus) answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Job 23:12 says Neither have I gone back from the commandment of His lips; I have esteemed the words of His mouth more than my necessary food. Jeremiah 15:16 says Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of Hosts.

Most people read the Word of God. But we should meditate (memorize) and not just read the Word of God daily. Joshua 1:8 says This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. The word success only appears once in the KJV bible at Joshua 1:8. Success is not found in money, cars, or houses. To have success in life, read, meditate, and memorize the Word of God.

Meditate and hide the word of God daily in your hearts so you do not sin. Psalm 119:11 says Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. When Brother Bob went to school, he took notes in classes to remember what the teacher taught. I would keep going over these notes to remember what was lectured to me by the teacher. Like Brother Bob, write down bible verses on notepads and meditate daily on the Word of God. God's word can not lie. Keep your mind stayed on the Word of God who is the Lord Jesus to receive perfect peace. Isaiah 26:3 says Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.

A Poem About A Sparrow
His Eye Is On The Sparrow And I Know He Watches Me

I'm a very little sparrow; A bird of low degree
My life is of little value; But the dear Lord cares for me

He gave me a coat of feathers; Tis very plain I know
With never a speck of crimson; For it was not made for show

But it keeps me warm in winter; It shields me from the rain
Were it bordered with gold and purple; Perhaps it would make me vain

I have no barn or storehouse; I never sow nor reap
God gives me a sparrow's portion; But never a seed to keep

If my meat is sometimes scanty; Close picking makes it sweet
I have always enough to keep me; And life is more than meat

I know there are many sparrows; All over the world they're found
But our heavenly Father knoweth; When one of us falls to the ground

Though small, we are never forgotten; Though weak, we are never afraid
For we know that the dear Lord keepeth; The lives of the creatures He's made

I fly through the thickest forest; I light on many a prey
I have no chart or compass; But I never lose my way

Notice the picture above of the majestic eagles. Let's study some scriptures about eagles to learn about the Lord Jesus. Matthew 24:27 says For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. The carcase represents Jesus Christ crucified and the eagles are the christians who get two wings and fly high above this troubled world to be gathered together unto Jesus while they remember Jesus Christ crucified (the true carcase).

When christians remember Jesus Christ crucified, these christians will fly higher and higher like eagles to be with the Lord Jesus in the air and shout loud praises to Jesus for ever in the kingdom of God. The higher an eagle flies the louder the eagle shouts praises to the Lord Jesus. In Jesus name I claim that every person who reads this past, present, and future will like the eagle fly so high with Jesus that they will be for ever hidden from the devil while they shout loud praise to the Lord Jesus.

Jesus said at John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. If we preach about Jesus Christ crucified and lift up the Lord Jesus, people everywhere will come together with no prejudice like eagles that gather to the carcase that is Jesus Christ crucified. Red, yellow, black, and white, they are all precious in God's sight. When people attend church they are looking for love. God defines Love as Jesus dying on the cross of Calvary. 1 John 3:16 says Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down his life for us (Love was when Jesus died for sinners at the cross of Calvary): and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

1 John 4:10 says Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins (sacrifice at the cross of Calvary that satisfied and removed God's anger against sin so sinners could get saved). Therefore preach about love that is Jesus Christ crucified and you will save multitudes while you draw all men to the Lord.

Rejoice while you read two great scriptures about eagles in the Word of God. Isaiah 40:31 says But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Deuteronomy 32:11 says As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: So the Lord alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him. He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock.

The Ostrich Is The Dumbest Animal With A Large Body And A Tiny Head

Notice the picture above of an ostrich (Struthio camelus) with her babies. Job 39:13 says Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? Or wings and feathers unto the ostrich? Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust, And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them. She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not her's: her labour is in vain without fear; Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath He imparted to her understanding. The ostrich is the dumbest animal that exists.

Learn a lesson from the ostrich (Struthio camelus) in the picture above. A puritan writer once wrote that the ostrich reminds him of a sinner without Jesus who is void of any true wisdom and liveth without any serious consideration. An ostrich will thrust her head into a thicket, conceiving that nobody seeth her because she seeth nobody, and so becomes a prey to the fowler. Likewise a sinner that commits adultery, fornicates, steals, or gets drunk, considers not that God continuously sees them. If a sinner is like an ostrich and says I can keep sinning and God won't see my sin, they will be cast into hell and the lake of fire to be tormented for ever.

Don't be like the ostrich and hide yourself from God. Jesus said at 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He (Jesus) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Proverbs 28:13 says He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Don't just confess your sins. Forsake your sins and stop doing them and then you will receive mercy. Don't be a dumb sinner and keep sinning like an ostrich. Instead stop sinning and get saved with the peace of the Lord Jesus in the kingdom of God for ever.

Get saved with Jesus and receive perfect peace
Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning,
Confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel
That Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again
