The East Gate Represents The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ To This Earth

After The Seven Year Tribulation To Rule And Reign 

As King of Kings And Lord of Lords During The Millennium

     The Lord Jesus will return to this earth after the seven year tribulation with His saved saints ruling on white horses to the Mount of Olives, traveling through the Kidron Valley, entering into the East Gate of the temple to be King of this earth for 1000 years during the millennium. The Mount of Olives in the first picture above overlooks the Kidron Valley in the second picture above that is before the shut East Gate of the temple in the third picture above that surrounds the city of Jerusalem.

     Ezekiel prophesied about the East Gate of the temple at Ezekiel 44:1 that says Then he brought me back the way of the gate of the outward sanctuary which looketh toward the east; and it was shut. Then said the Lord unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it; because the Lord, the God of Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut. It is for the prince (the Prince of Peace Jesus); the prince, He shall sit in it to eat bread before the Lord; He shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate, and shall go out by the way of the same.

     The Lord Jesus fulfilled Ezekiel's prophecy by causing the East Gate to be shut to this day after He (the God of Israel) entered into the East Gate during His triumphal entry into Jerusalem over 2000 years ago. This is proven by Luke 19:37-45 when the Lord Jesus descended down the Mount of Olives through the Kidron valley into the East Gate of the temple during His triumphal entry.

   

     First Luke 19:37 tells us that Jesus descended down the Mount of Olives saying And when He (Jesus) was come nigh, even now at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; Saying, Blessed be the king that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. Next Luke 19:41 tells us that Jesus went through the Kidron valley saying And when He (Jesus) was come near, He beheld the city (Jerusalem), and wept over it. Then Luke 19:45 tells us that Jesus entered into the East Gate of the temple saying And He (Jesus) went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought.

     After the Lord Jesus went through the East Gate fulfilling Ezekiel's prophecy, the East Gate has been shut to this day. According to Ezekiel 44:1, the East Gate will remain shut until the Prince of Peace (the Lord Jesus) opens the East Gate when He returns to the Mount of Olives on this earth to rule and reign as King of kings for 1000 glorious years during the millennium. The Prince of Peace (King Jesus) will soon enter and open this East Gate to eat bread before the Lord and celebrate his millennial reign. And all the saved saints will follow Jesus through the East Gate to rule and reign on this earth as kings and priests for 1000 years during the millennium. 

     Ezekiel 11:23 prophesied about the Lord Jesus' triumphal entry through the East Gate of Jerusalem saying And the glory of the Lord went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain (the Mount of Olives) which is on the east side of the city. Then Ezekiel 43:1 prophesied about the Lord Jesus' second coming and entry into the East Gate after the seven year tribulation saying Afterward He brought me to the gate, even the gate that looketh toward the east: And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and His voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with His glory. Ezekiel 43:4 says And the glory of the Lord came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east.

First The Lord Jesus Rode A Colt Donkey Through The East Gate

During His Triumphal Entry From The Mount Of Olives Into Jerusalem

Soon The Lord Jesus Will Ride A White Horse Stallion Through The East Gate

To Rule And Reign With His Saints During The Millennium In Jerusalem

     The East Gate was walled up by the Ottoman Turks with great stones. The East Gate (also known as the Golden Gate or Gate of Mercy) was sealed shut in 1541 A.D. by order of Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. Suleiman sealed the East Gate to prevent the entry of the Jewish Messiah (Jesus) because Ezekiel 44:1 says that the Messiah Lord Jesus will enter the East Gate when He rules this earth during the millennium. The Ottoman Turks also placed a graveyard in front of the East Gate, believing that according to sacred law the Messiah High Priest Jesus could not walk over unclean graves and touch dead bodies. These Muslims were trying to prevent the prophecy of Ezekiel 44:1 that Messiah Jesus will enter the East Gate after the seven year tribulation and be king of this earth during the millennium.

     Note that every Muslim that's tried to dig under the East Gate or blow it up has died. Anyone with plans to blow up the East Gate before Jesus returns should fear God and leave the East Gate alone. When God says something is going to remain shut, it's going to remain shut. I fear God's Word and wouldn't even try to touch the East Gate. Only the Lord Jesus can open the East Gate.

     Ezekiel 44:1 says that no man will be able to open the East Gate before Jesus returns to this earth. But when Jesus splits the Mount of Olives on his return to this earth, Jesus will split and remove the Muslim graveyard not touching any dead body and enter with the saints of God through the East Gate. Do a search on google for East Gate in Jerusalem and you will discover that the East Gate exists today and is shut (with the Muslim graveyard before the East Gate). The fact that the shut East Gate exists today proves that the 1611 KJV bible is the truth.

     Zechariah 14:4 says And His (Jesus') feet shall stand in that day (when Jesus returns to this earth) upon the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. When Jesus' feet divide the Mount of Olives, it will remove the Muslim's graveyard before the East Gate and bust open the shut doors of the East Gate, fulfilling Ezekiel's prophecy about the East Gate. King Jesus will enter the East Gate with His saved saints and eat His bread before God the Father proclaiming to this earth that He is King of kings during the millennium.

A Story About Why The Holiday Inn 

Couldn't Build A Hotel On The Mount Of Olives

     Years ago the Holiday Inn had planned to build a hotel at the Mount of Olives in Israel. They sent a group of engineers to prepare for the building of the hotel. After some investigation they said it could not be done. There is a geological fault under the Mount of Olives that is causing it to split. This proves that the 1611 KJV bible is the truth and that the Mount of Olives will split when Jesus' feet divide the Mount of Olives upon His return to this earth during the millennium.

     Several attempts have been made to open the East Gate to deny that the bible is true. Twice in the last century every attempt to open the sealed East Gate has failed. I found the following in Grant Jeffrey's book "Heaven, The Last Frontier." The first attempt was on December 9th 1917, when the Grand Mufti, the Arab leader of Jerusalem, tried to open the East Gate. He had ordered the other gates to Jerusalem sealed to deter the approaching allied Expeditionary Army led by the British General Edmund Allenby. This was back in the early 1900s when the British were dismantling the Ottoman Empire, that had ruled over the land of Israel for 400 years.

     But the Grand Mufti did need to have one gate remain open, so he ordered his workmen to open the sealed East Gate. As the workmen picked up their sledgehammers, Allenby's airplane flew over Jerusalem, dropping thousands of leaflets telling the Arabs to flee. Miraculously, without a shot being fired, the opposing soldiers fled from Jerusalem. Jerusalem was delivered into the hands of the British, who one month earlier had promised the Jews the right to reestablish sovereignty over Israel, via the famous Balfour Declaration. The workmen fearfully put down their sledgehammers and the East Gate remained sealed fulfilling Ezekiel's prophecy.

     Then in 1967 the ancient prophecy was fulfilled again. But first, a little history. In 1948 the Jews declared sovereignty over a portion of their ancient homeland. In retaliation, King Hussein of Jordan, who had control over the ancient city of Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount, forbade the Jews from worshipping at their sacred Western Wall. This was the first time in centuries that the Jews did not have access to the Western Wall, that is a remnant of the wall around the second Temple, that was destroyed by the Roman general Titus in 70 A.D.

     King Hussein decided to build a hotel for Arab pilgrims on this section of the Western Wall, closing off this area to Jewish worship forever. The planned hotel was to be built over the Mughrabi Gate pictured above, that Muslims used to enter the Temple Mount. So the King needed to open another gate so that Muslims could get to the Al Aqsa Mosque, that was built by Muslims on the site of the Jewish Temple Mount. The Al Aqsa Mosque is the compound of Islamic religious buildings that sit atop the Temple Mount in Jerusalem including the Dome of the Rock and the Mosque of Omar.

     In violation of Ezekiel's prophecy, King Hussein ordered his workmen to open the sealed East Gate. But during this time, President Nasser of Egypt was also preparing to attack Israel, hoping to wipe out the Jewish state. And the Jews were about to preemptively respond to this planned attack. On June 5th of 1967, while the workmen prepared their sledgehammers to shatter the huge stones sealing the East Gate, an intimidating array of Israeli aircraft flew overhead. The Six Day War had begun and the workmen put down their tools and fled.

     At the end of the Six Day War, the workmen were unable to resume their project because the Jews had managed to recapture their ancient capital of Jerusalem. This was because Jordan joined the war with Egypt against Israel, thereby allowing Israel to reclaim Jerusalem and preserve the sealed East Gate. True to Ezekiel's prophecy, The East Gate remains sealed today. The East Gate will remain sealed until the day when our Lord Jesus enters into it to establish the kingdom of heaven for 1000 years on this earth during the millennium.

The East Gate Represents The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ To This Earth

After The Seven Year Tribulation To Rule And Reign 

As King of Kings And Lord of Lords During The Millennium

     The East Gate is mentioned at Nehemiah 3:29 that says After them repaired Zadok the son of Immer over against his house. After him repaired also Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the East Gate. Like Shemaiah, christians need to be keepers of the East Gate watching, praying, and ready for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ in the air during the rapture. After christians are caught up in the clouds to be with Jesus during the rapture, the seven year tribulation will begin on this earth. After the seven year tribulation, the Lord Jesus Christ will return to this earth with His christian bride at the Mount of Olives, enter the East Gate, and rule and reign for 1000 years during the millennium.

     The twelve gates of Jerusalem speak about the christian life. After salvation at the sheep gate, witnessing Jesus at the fish gate, learning the old truths at the old gate, staying humble at the valley gate, denying sin at the dung gate, getting filled with the Spirit at the fountain gate, meditating on the Word of God at the water gate, fighting the good fight of faith at the horse gate, christians need to daily watch and pray for the soon return and second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ during the rapture. 

     The rapture is a mystery and no one except the Father knows when the rapture will happen. Soon the Father will say to His Son (the Lord Jesus) go get the children. 1 Corinthians 15:51 says Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Since the time of the rapture is a mystery, christians should watch, pray, and be ready to be caught up out of this troubled world during the rapture.

Scriptures That Describe The East Gate

     The scripture that best describes the East Gate and the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to this earth is Luke 21:28. And when these things begin to come to pass (wars, rumours of wars, famines, pestilences, and earthquakes), then look up, and lift up your heads, for your redemption draweth nigh. Matthew 24:27 tells us that the second coming of the Lord Jesus to this earth will be out of the east through the East Gate after He splits the Mount of Olives. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

     Revelation 19:11 speaks about the second coming of Jesus to this earth with his saved saints riding on white horses to rule and reign for 1000 years during the millennium. And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns, and He had a name written, that no man knew but He Himself. And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood, and His name is called the Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

Jesus Rose From The Mount Of Olives Before The East Gate

Jesus Will Return To the Mount Of Olives And Enter The East Gate

     Acts 1:9 tells us that Jesus rose from the Mount of Olives before the East Gate. And when He (the Lord Jesus) had spoken these things, while they beheld, He was taken up; and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stook by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven. Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the Mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath days journey.

Like Shemaiah Be A Keeper Of The East Gate

Watch, Pray, And Be Ready For the Second Coming Of The Lord Jesus Christ

     Like Shemaiah, be a keeper of the East Gate. Watch, pray, and be ready for the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Mark 13:33 says Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. Watch ye therefore. for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly He find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. 

     Jesus said at Matthew 24:44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. 1 John 2:28 says And now, little children, abide in Him; that, when He shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. Ephesians 5:14 says Wherefore He (the Lord Jesus) saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly (diligently), not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

     1 Corinthians 15:33 says Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame. In other words wake up and stop wasting time with this fading world because many people have not the knowledge of God and need to get saved. You might be the only Jesus that anyone sees on this earth. Don't be selfish and whenever the Holy Spirit tells you to witness about Jesus, witness Jesus everywhere on this earth. 2 Corinthians 3:2 says Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men. 1 Corinthians 3:6 says I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

     Luke 21:34 says And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting (hangover after drunkenness), and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Hebrews 2:1 says Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

     Romans 13:11 says And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast of the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof. Jesus said at Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Get Saved And Escape This Troubled World During The Rapture

And Enter The East Gate With The Lord Jesus

Studying Nehemiah's 12 Gates To Learn About The Christian Life: The Horse Gate: Be A Good Soldier For Jesus Christ

 

The Horse Gate

     The eighth gate that speaks about the christian life is the horse gate. The horse gate represents warfare against the devil and the world in the christian life. After christians get saved at the sheep gate, witness Jesus everywhere at the fish gate, deny sin at the dung gate, get filled with the Spirit at the fountain gate, and daily study the Word of God at the water gate, christians need to be good soldiers fighting the good fight of faith against the devil and the world at the horse gate. 

     Whenever a horse is mentioned in the bible warfare occurs. Horses are fearless and rush into the battle with confidence ignoring any threat from the enemy. Job 39:19 describes the horse saying Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder? Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? Note that a grasshopper fears everything and will jump at the slightest noise. But a horse is fearless and rushes into a battle. The glory of his nostrils is terrible. He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men.

     Job 39:22 continues to describe the fearless horse saying He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword. The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield. He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet. He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting. Christians need to be fearless like the horse realizing that with Jesus they can overcome the devil and this troubled world.

Christians Need To Be Fearless Soldiers At The Horse Gate

Fighting The Good Fight Of Faith Against The Devil And The World

     Christians should be fearless like the horse and good soldiers for Jesus Christ fighting the good fight of faith at the horse gate. Jeremiah 8:6 tells us that the fearless horse rusheth into the battle. Christians need to be fearless like the horse having confidence that with Jesus they will overcome the devil and this troubled world. 2 Timothy 1:7 says For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 1 Timothy 6:12 says Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Don't be afraid of the devil. James 4:7 says Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Proverbs 28:1 says The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

     With Jesus, saved christians have the victory over the devil. Hebrews 13:6 says So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. If anyone gets saved with Jesus, Jesus will fight their battles and give them victory over any trouble from the devil or this world. Be like Jehoshaphat and trust Jesus to fight your battles and give you victory over the devil and this troubled world. 2 Chronicles 20:17 says Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.

     The horse gate is mentioned at Nehemiah 3:28: From above the horse gate repaired the priests, every one over against his house. Note that the priests repaired the horse gate. All christians are kings and priests that need to be good soldiers fighting the good fight of faith against the devil and this troubled world at the horse gate. Revelation 1:6 says that the Lord Jesus hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Be A Good Soldier For Jesus Christ

Remember That The Blood Of Jesus, The Word Of God,

And Prayer Are Weapons To Defeat The Devil

     2 Timothy 2:3 tells us to be good soldiers for Jesus Christ. Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please Him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. 2 Corinthians 10:3 says For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God, to the pulling down of strongholds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

     After salvation with Jesus, the battle is not against flesh and blood. The battle is spiritual and against the devil and this troubled world. The greatest weapon to defeat the devil is the blood of Jesus. Revelation 12:11 says And they overcame him (defeated the devil) by the blood of the Lamb (Jesus), and by the word of their testimony: and they loved not their lives unto the death. Every day in Jesus name ask God's angels to bind the devil and send him to the pit of hell and to send the blood of Jesus over your home, car, and anywhere you travel. I guarantee you that the devil will flee and disappear because the blood of Jesus is a fence around you that the devil can not get by.

     Ephesians 6:10 says Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 

     Romans 13:12 tells us that God's armour is called the armour of light. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Note that an easy way to put on the full armour of God is to put on Jesus who is the armour of light every day by saying I am crucified with Jesus Christ. Jesus said at John 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

     Note also that the 1611 KJV Word of God who is Jesus will defeat the devil. Jesus spoke the Word of God three times to the devil saying It is written three times and the devil had to flee. Matthew 4:11 says Then the devil leaveth Him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto Him.  Be encouraged because with Jesus there is victory in this spiritual battle against the devil and this troubled world. 1 Corinthians 15:57 says But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 

     Jesus has already defeated the devil at the cross of Calvary. The devil just tries to make people think that there is a game to play and runs out on the field wearing his playing gear. Just tell the devil to look at the scoreboard saying Game over devil. You've lost devil. There is no game to play. My Lord Jesus defeated you forever by the blood of Jesus shed at the cross of Calvary. Tell the devil Hebrews 2:14 that the Lord Jesus through death on the cross of Calvary destroyed him that had the power of death, that is the devil forevermore .Romans 8:37 says Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him (Jesus) that loved us. 

Like The Horse Be A Disciplined And Confident Soldier That Wins The Battle

     A horse bit disciplines a horse. A horse bit is a tool for communication with the horse. When a rider pulls on the reins, the bit applies pressure to the horse's mouth, This pressure combined with leg and voice cues, helps the rider guide and control the horse. James 3:3 says Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. Like horses, christians need to discipline themselves daily with prayer to deny their sinful flesh while they study the Word of God. Jesus said at Luke 9:23 If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. 

     Like the horse, if christians discipline themselves daily with prayer and meditating on the Word of God, they will be confident and rejoice in their guaranteed victory over the devil and any trouble. Philippians 1:6 says Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. 2 Timothy 1:12 says For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day. 

Places In The Bible Where Horses Represent Warfare Against The Devil

1) The Witch Athaliah Was Killed At The Horse Gate

2) The Lord Jesus Is Riding On A White Horse 

When He Defeats The Beast Antichrist And False Prophet 

     Horses represent warfare against the devil when they are mentioned in the bible. A woman named Athaliah (daughter of the witch Jezebel and wife to King Jehoram) made herself a queen of the land for six years by destroying and killing all the royal baby boys. After King Ahaziah was killed by Jehu, Ahaziah's mother Athaliah was so wicked and killed all the royal babies and even her own children to take power and become a queen for six years. But a woman named Jehosheba, the wife of the high priest Jehoiada stated at 2 Chronicles 22:11, (aunt to King Joash) preserved the royal seed and hid baby Joash (son of King Ahaziah) from wicked Athaliah for six years. 

     Jehoiada and his wife Jehosheba hid king Joash for six years and constantly surrounded Joash with guards holding weapons to protect the child Joash from Athaliah. When Jehoiada proclaimed that seven year old Joash is king, after Athaliah cried Treason, treason, Jehoiada had the guards take Athaliah to the horse gate to be killed (the old hag or nag was killed at the horse gate) to avoid killing Athaliah in the temple. 2 Chronicles 23:15 says So they laid hands on her (Athaliah); and when she was come to the entering of the horse gate by the king's house, they slew her there.

     The story about Athaliah, Joash, Jehosheba, and Jehoiada is at 2 Kings 11:1 and says And when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal. But Jehosheba, the daughter of King Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king's sons which were slain; and they hid him, even him and his nurse, in the bedchamber from Athaliah, so that he was not slain. And he was with her hid in the house of the Lord six years. And Athaliah did reign over the land. And the seventh year Jehoiada sent and fetched the rulers over hundreds, with the captains and the guard, and brought them to him into the house of the Lord, and made a covenant with them, and took an oath of them in the house of the Lord, and shewed them the king's son.

     2 Kings 11:8 further states And ye shall compass the king round about, every man with his weapons in his hand: and he that cometh within the ranges, let him be slain: and be ye with the king as he goeth out and as he cometh in. 2 Kings 11:11 says And the guard stood, every man with his weapons in his hand, round about the king, from the right corner of the temple to the left corner of the temple, along by the altar and the temple. And he brought forth the king's son, and put the crown upon him, and gave him the testimony; and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, God save the king.

     2 Kings 11:13 further states And when Athaliah heard the noise of the guard and of the people, she came to the people into the temple of the Lord. And when she looked, behold, the king stood by a pillar, as the manner was, and the princes and the trumpeters by the king, and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew with trumpets: and Athaliah rent her clothes, and cried Treason, Treason. But Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of the hundreds, the officers of the host, and said unto them, Have her forth without the ranges (temple building): and him that followeth her kill with the sword. For the priest had said, Let her not be slain in the house of the Lord. And they laid hands on her; and she went by the way by the which the horses came into the king's house: and there was she slain.

     Finally christians will return to this earth with Jesus riding on white horses after the seven year tribulation to war against the Beast Antichrist and the false prophet at the battle of Armageddon. Revelation 19:11 says And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He (the Lord Jesus) doth judge and make war. Revelation 19:14 says And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. Revelation 19:20 says And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Studying Nehemiah's 12 Gates To Learn About The Christian Life: The Water Gate: A Message About The Word Of God

 

The Water Gate

     The seventh gate that speaks about the christian life is the water gate. The water gate represents the Word of God. Whenever you see water mentioned in the bible, it speaks about the Word of God. Paul said at Ephesians 5:26 That He (the Lord Jesus) might sanctify and cleanse it (the church) with the washing of water by the Word. Therefore at the water gate, christians need to daily meditate, read, and study the Word of God to defeat the devil and get victory over this troubled world. 

     Psalm 1:1 says Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in His law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. In other words if anyone daily studies and meditates on the Word of God, the Lord Jesus will fix all their worries, sickness, and troubles in this world.

     Notice that the water gate speaks about the Word of God. Pictured above Ezra preached the Word of God at the water gate. Nehemiah 8:2 says And Ezra the priest brought the law before the congregation both of men and women, and all that could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month. And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from morning until midday, before the men and women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law.

     The water gate is also mentioned at Nehemiah 3:26: Moreover the Nethinims dwelt in Ophel, unto the place over against the water gate toward the east, and the tower that lieth out. After them the Tekoites repaired another piece, over against the great tower that lieth out, even unto the wall of Ophel. The Nethinims drew water at the water gate for the house of God. 

     Notice that the Nethinims and the Tekoites built the water gate. The Nethinims were temple servants for the Levites related to the Gibeonites that hewed wood and drew water for the house of God after they deceived Joshua. The story of how the Gibeonites tricked Joshua can be found at Joshua 9. After Joshua came across the Jordan river, went around Jericho seven times causing the walls of Jericho to fall down, and defeated Ai, there was a group of people up in Gibeah who put on old raggedy clothes, old worn out shoes, and brought mouldy bread, acting like they'd been walking for hundreds of miles. The Gibeonites met Joshua and said we've traveled a long distance with worn out shoes, worn out clothes, and mouldy bread. The Gibeonites said Joshua please don't kill us and make peace with us. 

     Joshua did not enquire of the Lord whether to make a peace treaty with the Gibeonites and sinned by making a covenant to not harm the Gibeonites in the name of the Lord. Joshua 9:27 says And Joshua made them (the Nethinim Gibeonites) that day hewers of wood and drawers of water for the congregation, and for the altar of the Lord, even unto this day, in the place which he should choose. Later David also sinned and allowed the Nethinim Gibeonites to become his servants, allowing them to be hewers of wood and drawers of water. Ezra 8:20 says Also of the Nethinims, whom David and the princes had appointed for the service of the Levites, 220 Nethinims: all of them were expressed by name.

     Notice that the children of Solomon's servants worked with the Nethinim temple servants on the house of God. Ezra 2:58 says All the Nethinims and the children of Solomon's servants were 392 (220 Nethinims and 172 children of Solomon's servants). The lowly humble Nethinims and children of Solomon's servants considered it an honor to belong to the house of God hewing wood and drawing water even though they served in the lowest office. 

     Like the Nethinims and the children of Solomon's servants, christians need to be humble and consider it an honor to serve the Lord Jesus and witness Jesus everywhere. Psalm 84:10 says For a day in thy courts (Lord Jesus) is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. Just to be in the presence of the Lord Jesus in heaven as a lowly doorkeeper would be an honor for any christian. For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

     Notice that the lowly humble Nethinims lived at Ophel. The Hebrew definition of Ophel is an elevated hill. Like the lowly humble Nethinims, if you are a humble servant witnessing Jesus everywhere, the Lord Jesus will exalt you to the highest heights of Ophel. James 4:10 says Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up. Jesus said at Matthew 23:12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. Be like the Lord Jesus who was willing to wash feet and is exalted with a name above all names because of His humility and obedience to die on the cross of Calvary to save lost sinners. 

     Very soon during the millennium, the Lord Jesus will be the King of all kings ruling on this earth with a rod of iron at Mount Zion in Jerusalem that will be the highest hill on this earth (higher than Mount Everest). Isaiah 2:2 says And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

     The Tekoites who earlier built the fish gate also built the water gate. Like the Tekoites, after you complete a task for Jesus, continue to serve Jesus and be willing to complete new tasks for the Lord Jesus. There is no retirement when you witness about Jesus and save lost sinners. Note that the word Tekoa means trumpet blast from a shofar ram's horn for a battle signal. Be like the citizens of Tekoa and build God's water gate while you blow the trumpet of God's voice in Zion to save lost sinners for Jesus everywhere. Isaiah 58:1 says Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

     Like the Nethinims and the Tekoites, Brother Bob considers it an honor to witness Jesus everywhere to thousands of nations on this earth. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. Be willing to be a Nethinim servant for Jesus and when you are walking through Walmart, shopping at the Kroger grocery store, or dining at Cracker Barrel, if the Holy Spirit tells you to witness about Jesus to any lost sinner, tell them how to be saved. Don't be selfish. You might be the only Jesus that anyone sees on this earth. 2 Corinthians 3:2 says Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men.

Christians Must First Get Filled With The Holy Spirit At The Fountain Gate

Before They Can Understand The Word Of God At The Water Gate

     Christians must first get filled with the Holy Spirit at the fountain gate before they can understand the Word of God at the water gate. After salvation, christians get filled with the Holy Spirit by daily looking to Jesus Christ crucified, reading and meditating on the Word of God, praying, and fellowshipping. Romans 8:2 says For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. In other words christians get filled with the Holy Spirit of life when they are in Christ Jesus looking daily by faith to the cross of Calvary telling the devil I am crucified with Jesus Christ. Phillipians 4:13 says I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

     After christians are filled with the Holy Spirit, they will be able to understand the Word of God. Man's worldly wisdom without the Holy Spirit can not understand the Word of God. 1 Corinthians 2:11 says For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

     Before christians study the Word of God, they should get filled with the Holy Spirit through prayer and worship to Jesus Christ crucified who died on the cross of Calvary to save us from our sins. Lost sinners who are not saved can not understand the Word of God with man's worldly wisdom. Before Brother Bob got saved, the bible was foreign to Brother Bob who could not understand the Word of God. But after salvation, Brother Bob could understand the Word of God because the Holy Spirit revealed hidden mysteries from the Word of God about Jesus who is the Word of God (Revelation 19:13). 1 John 2:27 says But the anointing (the Holy Spirit) which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie; and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him. 

Proud, Arrogant, Educated, Lost, Unsaved Sinners 

Without Jesus Can Not Understand The Word Of God

Humble Christians Who Become Like Little Children 

And Trust Jesus For Wisdom Can Understand The Word Of God

     Proud, arrogant, educated, lost, unsaved sinners without Jesus can not understand the Word of God. Humble christians who become like little children and trust Jesus for wisdom can understand the Word of God. Ecclesiastes 4:13 says Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished. Become like a little child and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you the Word of God instead of man's worldly wisdom. God won't reveal the hidden mysteries of the Word of God to proud, arrogant professors who claim to know everything without God's help. 1 Corinthians 8:2 says And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. 

     Become humble like a little child always willing to learn new truths about the infinite wisdom from the Word of God. Don't claim to know everything. Brother Bob says the more I know the less I know because the wisdom in the Word of God is infinite. There's always something new to learn about in the Word of God about Jesus. John 21:25 says And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

     The wisdom about the Word of God from the Holy Spirit flows forever from the fountain of living waters (the Lord Jesus) who forever reveals infinite mysteries about the Word of God. Man's worldly wisdom flows from broken cisterns that can hold no water and fail to reveal the truth about the Word of God. Jeremiah 2:13 says For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me (the Lord Jesus) the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns (man made wells), broken cisterns, that can hold no water. 

     Let the fountain of living waters (Jesus by His Holy Spirit) reveal the blessed wisdom to you about the Word of God. Without Jesus and the Holy Spirit, no one can understand the Word of God. Jesus said at John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. Only the Lord Jesus can bless us with living fountains of waters that are better than man's broken cisterns. Revelation 7:17 says For the Lamb (Jesus) which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

     Get saved and allow the Holy Spirit and not man's worldly wisdom reveal the blessed hidden mysteries in the Word of God. 1 Corinthians 2:9 says But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him. But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

Blessings Received From The Word Of God At The Water Gate

Note That This Is Not About Watergate And Richard Nixon

     Note the many blessings received from the Word of God at the water gate. Ransack, study, and memorize the KJV bible and receive the following blessings. The 1611 KJV Word of God is perfect, converts the soul, makes wise the simple, is right, rejoicing the heart, enlightens the eyes, endures forever, is true and righteous altogether, better than much fine gold, sweeter than honey and the honeycomb, and gives a great reward if obeyed. Psalm 19:7 says The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

     Christians should desire the sincere milk of the Word of God to receive good success in life. 1 Peter 2:1 says Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. The word success appears only once in the KJV bible telling us that when anyone meditates upon God's Word they will have success. Joshua 1:8 says This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

     Note some more blessings received from the Word of God at the water gate. The Word of God gives great peace and joy. The joy from the Word of God is better than finding buried treasure worth billions of dollars, winning the highest paid lottery, or winning $100,0000 on a game show. It's better to have great peace and joy from the Word of God than to be the wealthiest billionaire on this earth. Psalm 119:165 says Great peace have they which love thy law; and nothing shall offend them. Psalm 119:162 says I rejoice at thy Word (who is Jesus), as one that findeth great spoil.  

     The Word of God tells us that a little with the peace and contentment from Jesus and God's Word is better than the riches of many wicked. Psalm 37:16 says A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. Proverbs 15:16 says Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith. Proverbs 16:8 says Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right. Remember little is much when God is in it. One person plus Jesus is more powerful than the mightiest army on this earth. Romans 8:31 says What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

     Christians should desire to read, study, and hear the Word of God daily more than their necessary food. People eat three meals a day to strengthen their bodies. But christians need to feed their souls and spirits daily with the Word of God. Don't starve your soul and spirit and forget to meditate on the Word of God. Job 23:12 says Neither have I gone back from the commandment of His lips; I have esteemed the words of His mouth more than my necessary food. Be like Jeremiah and say Jeremiah 15:16: Thy words were found (Lord Jesus), and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts.

     The Word of God who is Jesus is above and beyond all books ever written past, present, and future like Niagara Falls is beyond the mill pond in power; like the Sequoia tree is beyond the roadside weed in majesty; like the wings of an eagle are beyond the wings of a sparrow in strength; like a skyscraper is beyond a dugout in height; like a tree is beyond a twig in fruitbearing; and like a cannon is beyond a popgun in far reaching power. 

     Note some more blessings received from the Word of God at the water gate. The Word of God keeps christians clean, removes guilt, and stops christians from sinning. Jesus said at John 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Psalm 119:9 says Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. Psalm 119:11 says Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psalm 119:105 says Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

     When was the last time you read, studied, or heard the Word of God? We should read, study, and hear the Word of God every day to be clean and stop sinning. Some people have not read, studied, or heard the Word of God for years. If you don't take time for the Word of God, you will sin and experience trouble. Make time early in the morning for prayer and studying the Word of God. The Word of God will give you great peace, stop sin, and add years of joy to your life.

     Be like David and say Psalm 119:16: I will delight myself in thy statutes (Lord Jesus): I will not forget thy word. If you delight yourself in the Word of God, God will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4 says Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thy heart.

     Note that the Word of God is magnified about the name above all names (Jesus who is the Word). Psalm 138:2 says I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth; for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. This is why the devil fights the 1611 KJV Word of God the most with hundreds of false new translated bibles. The first thing that the devil attacked was the Word of God when he told Eve at Genesis 3:1 Yea, hath God said. Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

     The Word of God is the truth that always existed from the beginning of time and will last forever. People, places, man's books, and this world will fade away. But the Word of God will remain forever. Psalm 119:89 says For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. Jesus said at Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Therefore invest your time in studying the Word of God that will give you infinite rewards forever in heaven that will never fade away.
