1) Constantly Seek Jesus From The Word, Preaching, And Prayer

While You Avoid The Temporary Pleasures From This Filthy World

     The first way to be a better christian is to seek Jesus from the Word, preaching, and prayer while you avoid the temporary pleasures from this filthy world. When you are on your cellphone, youtube, facebook, tiktok, or browsing the internet, don't allow the devil to tempt you to click any sinful video. You might get a temporary laugh or thrill when you watch an old sinful sitcom. Remember Ephesians 4:27 says Neither give place to the devil. And Galatians 5:9 says a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. It's sinful to watch old sitcom comedies where actors are drinking, gambling, and laughing about sin. The devil will get you to watch an old youtube sinful video or chat useless gossip on facebook or tiktok all day and then it will be hours before you realize all the time you wasted while you forgot to seek Jesus.

     Remember if you want all your prayers answered, we must daily abide and live for our Lord Jesus trying to save lost souls. Jesus said at John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. If you constantly stay with Jesus, you will pray for the right things and God will give them to you. But when you continuously sin without repenting, your prayers are not heard by God. Psalm 66:18 says If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.  

     When people sin the devil tells them no one is looking so just enjoy a temporary sinful thrill. But God constantly sees everything we do.  Proverbs 15:3 says The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. Luke 12:2 says For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Hebrews 4:13 says Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. 2 Chronicles 16:9 says For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him. 

A Story About A Pigeon That Teaches Us How To Be Better Christians

     A man in Massillon, Ohio owned 65 pigeons. Every winter the pigeons flew south to St Louis, Missouri. Every spring the pigeons returned to Massillon, Ohio at a set time to the exact same place. One of the pigeons flew non stop for 500 miles to his owner in Massillon, Ohio. Someone asked the owner "How do you know that the pigeon flew non stop for 500 miles?" The owner replied, "Most of the pigeons that stopped to rest in a swamp had mud on their feet. But the pigeon that flew non stop for 500 miles came to Ohio with clean feet." 

     In other words, the pigeon that flew non stop for 500 miles to Ohio came home clean. This pigeon didn't stop for a temporary rest in the muck and mire of this filthy sinful world. This pigeon flew 500 miles to get home and never let up. Christians we need to be like this pigeon and keep flapping and flying for our Lord Jesus and come home clean to heaven as effective christian disciples for Jesus. Always keep witnessing everywhere for Jesus telling people to get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for them, was buried, and rose again. 

     Like the pigeon with clean feet, come home clean for Jesus and make a safe landing in heaven for the glory of God. Don't get down in the filth of this fading world and lose your testimony and witness for our Lord Jesus. Like the pigeon with clean feet, keep flying daily for Jesus with one glorious thought on your mind; Get home; Get home; Somebody named Jesus is waiting for me when I get home to heaven. 

     When the pigeon got home to Ohio, the owner fixed her a big meal and put her in the box. And when we get home to be with our Lord Jesus, Jesus is going to feed us with a blessed meal at the marriage supper of the Lamb during the millennium and give us mansions to live in on a street of pure gold transparent glass in a city of pure gold clear glass in the kingdom of God forever. Revelation 7:17 says For the Lamb (Jesus) which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

2) Forget Your Sinful Past And Press Forward Daily To Jesus

     Next to be a better christian, forget your sinful past and press forward daily to Jesus. The bible tells us to put away all superfluity or the sinful things we used to do in the world before we got saved. James 1:21 says Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted Word, which is able to save your souls. 

     Paul told us at Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Like Paul, forget the bad memories in the past of people that rejected your walk with Jesus. 

     Don't be bitter toward anyone that rejects you and always forgive them when they return to receive the Jesus in you. Hebrews 12:15 says Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled. Avoid angry people and forgive forever. Love the hell out of people. But don't waste time trying to witness to someone who rejects you and Jesus. There are thousands of lost sinners that need to hear about Jesus who will receive your ministry. Jesus said at Matthew 10:13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

     Be like the saved christians who used to practice curious arts that burned all their sinful books worth 50000 pieces of silver. Acts 19:19 says Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. Like these christians delivered from curious arts, after Brother Bob got saved, I threw away hundreds of sinful LPs and cassettes along with decks of gambling cards and anything sinful in my home. Today if you visit Brother Bob's home, everything in his house praises our Lord Jesus. Remember forget the things which are behind and press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 

     Jesus told us at Luke 9:62 No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Don't worry about what your old sinful friends will say about you after you get saved. Just place Jesus first before your family and old sinful friends. Jesus said at Matthew 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Brother Bob's father told him in 1987 to make a choice: Either the family with the millions of dollars or Jesus. To the glory of God, Brother Bob chose Jesus and for 42 years Jesus has met all of Brother Bob's needs and blessed him greatly.

3) Plan For Eternity As A Disciplined Disciple

     Finally to be a better christian, plan for eternity as a disciplined disciple. A person that only plans for their life on this earth is a fool; A wise person makes plans for eternity. To be a disciple for Jesus, we need to be disciplined followers of Jesus. He who submits to discipline is a disciple. 1 Timothy 6:12 says Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. 

     Even when you don't feel like praising Jesus, praise Jesus anyhow. Give God a sacrifice of praise. Hebrews 13:15 says By Him (Jesus) therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name. Remember if we suffer with Jesus through persecutions and troubles from this world, we will reign with Jesus during the millennium. 2 Timothy 2:11 says It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him: If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him, He also will deny us: If we believe not, yet He abideth faithful: He cannot deny Himself. 

     How comforting to say 2 Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day. Paul said at Phillipians 3:8 Yea, doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ. 

     Remember your worst day as a christian is better than your best day as a lost sinner. Jesus said at Matthew 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Friends remember when we choose Jesus instead of this fading troubled world, we can rejoice and say John 8:36 If the Son (Jesus) therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. Jesus gives us so much more than anything this world can offer. Ephesians 3:20 says Now unto Him (Jesus) that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end, Amen.

How To Be An Effective Sign For Jesus

1) Signs are effective that are seen everywhere and not hidden

Witness Jesus everywhere with no hidden shame

     First for a sign to be effective it must be seen everywhere and not hidden. Jesus told saved saints at Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Let your light shine and become an effective sign for Jesus by witnessing Jesus everywhere (at the grocery store, the laundromat, on your job, at Walmart, Sam's Club, and Target, and at any restaurant). 

     Remember Jesus said at Matthew 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. A sign is ineffective that is hidden. Become an effective sign for Jesus seen everywhere with no shame. Like Brother Bob place the name of Jesus on your mailbox, on your front door to your home, on the internet, in your car, on the office wall at your job, and everywhere in your home on all the doors, refrigerator, computer, and above your bed. If anyone tells you that you talk too much about Jesus reply "I need to talk more about Jesus and thanks for the compliment."

     The only thing that matters in this life is what we've done for our Lord Jesus. Jesus said at Luke 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. Like Brother Bob do something on this internet to lift up our Lord Jesus while you witness salvation everywhere. Tell people everywhere to get saved. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

2) Signs are effective when they warn people about danger

Warn everyone that without Jesus they will go to hell

     Next for a sign to be effective it must warn people about danger. A wrong way sign warns people to not enter a road to avoid an accident. Become an effective sign for Jesus and tell lost sinners enjoying the temporary pleasures of this fading world trusting their good works without Jesus for salvation, wrong way, wrong way, wrong way. There's a better way with Jesus. Tell everyone trust Jesus and go to heaven. Trust anything else and go to hell. Tell everyone Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name (Jesus) under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. 

     Tell people everywhere to get saved we must by faith alone in Jesus without our good works trust Jesus for salvation. Not the blood of Jesus plus water, not the blood of Jesus plus works, and not the blood of Jesus plus wafers, but it's the blood of Jesus plus nothing for salvation.  Ephesians 2:8 says For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Titus 3:5 says Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. Finally 2 Timothy 1:9 says Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. 

     I just had to add this story about going the wrong way to make you laugh. A woman phoned her husband saying "I heard on the news that there is a crazy fool traveling the wrong way down the interstate highway. You better be careful." The husband phoned his wife and said "Honey it's amazing there's hundreds of cars going the wrong way."

3) Signs are ineffective when they are covered by dirt and unreadable

Don't let the filthiness of this sinful world cover up your testimony for Jesus

     Next signs become ineffective when they are covered up by dirt and unreadable. A christian's testimony and witness for Jesus becomes ineffective when the filthiness of this sinful world makes them stop living for Jesus. Don't let the filthiness of this world cover up your testimony for Jesus. Deny this world's temporary pleasures and live holy for Jesus every day. You might be the only Jesus someone sees. 2 Corinthians 3:2 says Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men.

     James 4:4 says Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. 2 Corinthians 7:1 says Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. James 1:21 says Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity (past sins before salvation) of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted Word, which is able to save your souls. 

     When christians swear and sin with bad habits of smoking, drinking, and fornicating, there's so much junk covering up their testimony for Jesus that no one can see them as an effective sign pointing people to Jesus Christ. Become an effective sign for Jesus by obeying Jesus' command at Luke 9:23: If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

4) Signs are ineffective when they display false information

Be an effective sign for Jesus and tell people the correct way to be saved

     Next signs become ineffective when they display false information. When a snow covered stop sign says Go instead of stop, the false information can create trouble. When Jehovah Witnesses and Muslims give false information about salvation (telling people that Jesus is just a great man, teacher, and prophet but not God) as false ineffective signs, they ruin people's lives and send them to hell. 

     Instead be an effective sign for Jesus and tell people everywhere that Jesus is God. Tell people that Jesus is a great man, teacher, prophet, and the Son of God. But tell people that Jesus also is God manifest in the flesh. Tell people the correct way to be saved. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

     Jehovah Witnesses are a false cult that stops people from getting saved because they deny that Jesus is God. I remember after I witnessed to a cashier at a Boston Market restaurant who got saved believing Jesus is God, a Jehovah Witness got angry and told the cashier that Jesus is not God and that Jehovah is God. I told the Jehovah Witness too late the cashier is already saved and I gave the cashier a KJV bible and to this day that cashier is saved and will always be saved and a child of God in the kingdom of God forevermore. Now I'm not telling anyone to hate Jehovah Witnesses. Be kind to Jehovah Witnesses and tell Jehovah Witnesses about Jesus and pray that they get saved and confess that Jesus is God. 

     Like Ezekiel, be an effective sign for Jesus and become a watchman warning people to stop sinning and start living for Jesus. At Ezekiel 12:6 God told Ezekiel I have set thee for a sign unto the house of Israel. Like Ezekiel, be an effective sign everywhere for Jesus. Don't be ashamed to raise the blood stained banner for Jesus and tell people everywhere that Jesus is the answer to all our problems. Brother Bob tells people everywhere that the safest place to be is in the will of God. When you are in the perfect will of God nothing can harm you. Problems only occur when we sin and get out of God's will by enjoying the temporary sinful pleasures of this fading world.

5) Signs are effective when they have a firm foundation

Be an effective sign for Jesus with Jesus as your firm foundation

     Next signs are effective when they have a firm foundation. If a sign has a firm foundation cemented into the ground, the sign will survive storms, winds, rain, and snow. Effective signs don't get blown down by the wind and become invisible ineffective signs.  A christian becomes an effective sign when Jesus is their firm foundation. 1 Corinthians 3:11 says For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 

     If Jesus truly has saved anyone and is their firm foundation, these christians will be effective signs for Jesus who will persevere and always stand witnessing Jesus everywhere. Jesus said at Matthew 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a Rock (Jesus): And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a Rock (Jesus). 

     1 Corinthians 10:4 says Jesus is our Rock and firm foundation. And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 2 Peter 1:10 promises that if you abide with Jesus who is your Rock and firm foundation you will never fall. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall.

     Note that the devil beast antichrist and his false apostate church called Mystery Babylon (Rome or the great whore Catholic Church with the pope) imitate the Lord Jesus and his true church called the New Jerusalem bride saved saints. Revelation 17:8, 19 tells us that the great whore called Mystery Babylon (Rome, Italy with the pope in the Vatican) is a great city with seven heads that are seven mountains (Rome is the only city that has seven mountains). 

     This great whore called Rome sits on the beast antichrist trying to imitate the New Jerusalem bride church that sits on the Rock foundation that is the Lord Jesus Christ. The devil always tries to imitate Jesus to deceive people. But saved saints won't be fooled when the Holy Ghost reveals satan's deception. 2 Corinthians 11:14 says And no marvel; for satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

6) A sign is effective when it is continously seen in many places

Abide with Jesus daily and continuously be an effective sign for Jesus everywhere

     A sign is effective when it is continously seen in many places. For example Ark Encounter signs like the one pictured above are seen continuously along Interstate 75 South in Kentucky. These Ark Encounter signs are effective and attract thousands of customers every day. Christians also need to be effective signs for Jesus by continually witnessing Jesus everywhere. The more people see and hear about Jesus, the better chance that millions will be saved for our Lord Jesus.  Remember when we continuously abide, witness, and live for Jesus, our prayer requests to save multitudes everywhere for Jesus will be granted. Jesus said at John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

     If there are 50 signs on the highway saying Come See Herman's Hardware Store, there is a good possiblity that people will shop at Herman's Hardware Store. And if Herman puts up a sign that says Walmart Smallmart; Come See Herman's Hardware Store, people out of curiousity will visit Herman's Hardware Store. It works the same way when witnessing for Jesus. If I keep telling people over and over again about Jesus on preachbrotherbob, people will get saved with our Lord Jesus. 

     My friend Steve Fleurant continuously witnessed Jesus to Brother Bob at Muhlenberg College. Because Steve kept praying for Brother Bob even when Brother Bob didn't want anything to do with Jesus, cursed, tossed a bible across the room, and got drunk, Steve's continual witness for Jesus saved Brother Bob and now Brother Bob has reached half a million people for Jesus with preachbrotherbob.

7) A sign becomes effective when it is authorized by the government

The Great Commission authorizes christians to be effective signs for Jesus

     A sign becomes effective when it is authorized by the government. The state governments authorize McDonalds to use golden arches as an effective sign for their restaurants. Likewise Jesus has authorized christians to be effective signs for Jesus with the Great Commission stated at Matthew 28:18-20. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. And Jesus also said at Mark 16:15 Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel (the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus) to every creature.

How To Keep Living For Jesus

1) Continue daily to seek Jesus without sinning

     To keep living for Jesus continue daily to seek Jesus without sinning. Remember quitters never win and winners never quit. Faith with victory occurs after continuous prayer and meditating on God's Word. Hebrews 11:6 says But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. James 1:25 says But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty (God's Word). and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. 

     Keep asking Jesus for your needs and Jesus will honor your faith and grant your requests when you stop sinning. It's wrong when someone says if you ask more than once for anything you have no faith. The bible says just the opposite. We need to keep asking over and over again for our needs that will increase our faith and get our needs met. Be like the Lord Jesus at Matthew 26:44 who prayed the same words three times for a blessing. This scripture says And He (Jesus) left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

     Be like the widow that got a blessing by her continual requests to an evil judge. Luke 18:2 says There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

2) Daily abide and live for Jesus denying worldly sin

     If you want to keep living for Jesus with blessings, you must abide and daily stay with Jesus while you deny the temporary pleasures of this sinful world. Jesus said at John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. In other words when you abide and stay with Jesus daily, you'll ask for the right things and get your requests answered. Remember though to avoid sin because sin blocks blessings where prayers are not answered. Psalm 66:18 says If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. 

     To be blessed by Jesus you have to keep going forward with Jesus (daily reading the Word, praying, and going to church). You can't stop living for Jesus, back up, and return to the sins of this world. Abiding and living for Jesus is like flying in an airplane. An airplane is different than any other form of transportation. When anyone rides a horse, they can stop and go back. When anyone drives a car, they can stop, put it in reverse and go backwards. You can stop a train or locomotive and even stop a ship with an anchor. But abiding and living for Jesus is like flying on a plane. An airplane can't stop after it takes off. If it stops, it drops. And if a christian stops living for Jesus by sinning in the world, he will drop into the troubles of this sinful world. Instead stay with Jesus who said at John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. 

     Abiding and living for Jesus to be blessed is like riding a bike up a hill. If you don't do anything to keep pedaling the bike uphill, the bike will go backwards. Likewise, if a christian is trying to climb up God's hill for a blessing away from the world, he will go backwards into this troubled world when he stops reading his bible, stops praying, and stops going to church. 

     A christian is going backwards when he says "I got my life fixed up years ago. Now I can relax, enjoy the world, and rest every day." This lazy man says "I do my exercises every day. Every morning I nod my head up down up down ten times." This christian will experience trouble for failing to abide and live for Jesus every day. It's like swimming. You have to continually tread water and keep swimming or else you'll sink. You have to continually stay in the Word, pray, and attend church, or else you'll sink into the troubles of this sinful world. 

     Remember the world is an enemy to our Lord Jesus and christians. James 4:4 says Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. A country preacher said that because the world is our enemy, find out which way the world is going and go in the opposite direction. Don't float downstream with this fading world in temporary pleasure. Instead make an effort with our Lord Jesus to go upstream against the world's current abiding with Jesus every day.

3) Don't allow the world to stop you from living for Jesus

     Astronomers say that the smaller a planet is, the less gravitational pull it has. The bigger a planet is the more gravitational pull it has. For example the moon is smaller than the earth and has less gravitational pull. Everything on the moon is lighter and a person can jump six times higher on the moon than on earth. But a planet the size of the sun that is bigger than the earth has greater gravitational pull where no one can stand up because the gravity is too heavy. 

     Therefore, the bigger the world or planet is, the more it will pull people down and can't be avoided. On the other hand, the smaller the world or planet is, the easier it will be to be free from it's influence. Remember since the world is an enemy to God, if you love the world more than Jesus and make it big, it will be hard for you to avoid troubles from the world. But if you love Jesus more than the world, (making the world small), you will experience peace and freedom with God. We are in this world but not of this world. We have to shop for food, go to work, and pay bills. But please keep the world little and Jesus and the Word of God big to get blessed. 

     Don't be like the following people who let the gravity of this world pull them down away from the blessings of Jesus. Instead of going to church on Sunday, these people say Sunday is my only day to rest. These people will get up at 4AM on Sunday morning to fish, hunt, or play golf all day long. Fishing, hunting, and playing golf are not bad but should not be a substitute for attending church on Sunday. These people complain in church saying the old seats are uncomfortable but they'll sit on a concrete bleacher and watch a football game for five hours in the cold. These people will scream at a football game like a Comanche Indian for five hours but keep quiet in a church for one hour like a wooden Indian.

4) Don't take the easy way out following the path of least resistance

Keep working for Jesus; Stay in church, Read the Word, Keep praying

     A man once asked "What makes a river crooked?" The preacher replied "Same thing that makes a man crooked; Following the path of least resistance." Notice in the above picture how the river avoids the mountain and follows the path of least resistance going around the mountain in the valley. But to keep living for Jesus you have to be a good soldier and endure hardness determined with Jesus to overcome the troubled mountains in your path. If there's a mountain in your way, first climb over the mountain; If you can't climb over the mountain, tunnel through the mountain; And if you can't climb over or tunnel through the mountain, ask Jesus to remove the mountain and watch the mountain disappear. Don't quit and always keep moving forward for our Lord Jesus. 2 Timothy 2:3 says Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. 

     Paul asked at Galatians 5:7 Ye did run well; Who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? Don't be hindered and follow the path of least resistance by returning to temporary worldly pleasures that end up in misery and death. After salvation stop swearing because Ephesians 4:29 says Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. After salvation don't gamble at casinos and drink beer at the bar with your old worldly friends. 2 Corinthians 6:14 says Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, 

confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel 

that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again  

How To Keep Living For Jesus

5) Remember put forth an effort to live for Jesus and don't by lazy

     Remember to keep living for Jesus takes an effort where every day you determine to deny sin and live holy for Jesus. Ephesians 4:27 says Neither give place to the devil. Proverbs 23:21 says For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags. Don't be like the man that said "I'm a light eater; As soon as it gets light I eat." This reminds me of the selfish man that kept building bigger barns to store food so he could eat drink and be merry. God called this man a fool and told him that night that he would die. Remember the warning from Luke 12:15 that says Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. 

     To end up today's bible study I will explain what happened after Robert Robinson wrote the blessed hymn called Come Thou Fount Of Every Blessing. After Robert wrote this blessed hymn, he sinned and went back into the world. While traveling on a train, he sat by a lady who said I'm reading a wonderful hymn and lo and behold it was Robert Robinson's hymn Come Thou Fount Of Every Blessing. 

     The lady told Robert "Do you know this hymn?" Robert weeped and said "I wrote it. When I was right with God I wrote that song. I'd give anything to feel the peace and joy I had when I wrote that song." The lady said "Well your song says streams of mercy never ceasing call for songs of loudest praise." And Robert's own words convicted him and he got right with God.

What You Do With Jesus Determines Where You Spend Eternity

     The most important question for anyone is eternity where? What anyone does with Jesus determines where they will spend eternity. If you get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again, you spend eternity in peaceful heaven forever. If you reject Jesus, you spend eternity in hell and the lake of fire with the devil and his angels forever. There's no in between (purgatory) where someone can pay money or pray you out of purgatory to graduate to heaven. Purgatory is not in the bible and makes no sense; Someone once said "If purgatory exists I sure wouldn't want to be the last one in purgatory with no one to pay or pray me out." 

     Don't wait to answer the most important question eternity where? Accept the Lord Jesus and be assured that you will spend eternity in peaceful heaven. Eternity is too long and hell is too hot. According to James 4:14 our life on this earth is only a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away and is followed by eternity in either heaven or hell (for ever and ever and ever and ever). 2 Corinthians 6:2 says I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 

     Notice the choice of heaven or hell for eternity pictured above. Trust Jesus and go to heaven; Trust anything else and go to hell. Choose heaven with unimaginable joy, not hell a place of horror; choose heaven with only the faithful few, not hell with many wicked sinners; choose heaven a place of eternal bliss, not hell a place of unending torment; choose heaven with the obedient there, not hell with the devil and the disobedient there; choose heaven with no desire to escape, not hell with no way of escape; choose heaven that people can forfeit or gain, not hell a place to avoid. 

     Eternity where is the most important question for anyone on this earth. When we think about eternity where? (the following questions are meaningless). 1) Will the economy get better? 2) Will Putin start World War III? 3) Will Ohio State win another football game? 4) Will Trump place tariffs on Canada and Mexico? 5) Will Trump stop the war between Russia and Ukraine? 6) Will the Palestinians be forced to leave Gaza? These questions don't matter when we ask the question eternity where? If we cleaned up the whole world and everybody started flying on electric jets to stop pollution, ate organic food, never cut down a tree, and never killed an owl or frog, everyone's still going to leave this earth and spend eternity somewhere.

Some Blessed Thoughts About Eternity

     Our first blessed thought about eternity is that the word eternity occurs only one time in the bible at Isaiah 57:15 that says For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Someone once asked with such a great subject as eternity, "Why do you think God only put the word eternity in the bible once?" Someone answered "Because it's so big, there isn't enough room for another one." 

     Now notice that God inhabiteth and lives in eternity. Eternity is not limited by time. Psalm 90:4 says For a thousand years in thy sight (Lord Jesus) are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. How comforting that according to 2 Corinthians 5:8 when saints leave this earth and are absent from the body, they are present with the Lord. Therefore saints like the Lord Jesus inhabit eternity whenever they leave their earthly bodies. According to time, saints receive their glorious glorified bodies at the rapture; but according to eternity, when a saint leaves his earthly body, he can move into eternity (instantly ahead billions of years ad infinitum without end and immediately receive his glorified body).

     Here's some interesting thoughts about eternity. Praise Jesus while you say John Newton's blessed words from Amazing Grace. When we've been there ten thousand years bright shining as the Son, we've no less days to sing God's praise then when we first begun. And what about the man that asked God in heaven's eternity, "God what is time like in heaven?" God replied "A minute is like a million years and a million years is like a minute." Then the man asked "God what is money like in heaven?" God replied "A penny is like a million dollars and a million dollars is like a penny." Then the man asked "God can you give me a penny?" God replied "In a minute." 

     Notice the words in the blessed picture above describing the length of eternity. Compared to this life on earth, the idea of forever praising Jesus in peaceful eternity brings great joy, peace, and strength. It's been said that if a single bird could take a single grain of sand and fly to heaven with it and do that once every thousand years until every grain of sand on every seashore of every ocean of planet earth; until all the sand was removed; Eternity would have just begun. Most people spend 4 years in college to prepare for a career that lasts 40 years, but they won't take 5 minutes to decide where they will spend eternity. The biggest gamble is to say there is no hell.

Be Like Peter, Paul, And John And Definitely Know 

That You Will Spend Eternity With Jesus In Peaceful Heaven

     Be like Peter, Paul, and John and definitely know that you will spend eternity with Jesus in peaceful heaven. Like Peter say 1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you. Like Peter, after salvation you will get a witness and know that your salvation and inheritance that fadeth not away is eternally reserved in heaven for you. 

     Like Paul say 2 Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day. Like Paul, after salvation you will get a witness and become persuaded that God will keep your salvation eternally for you in heaven. 

     Like John say 1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. Like John, after salvation you will get a witness and definitely know that you have eternal life with our Lord Jesus. 

     Remember it's better to accept the Lord Jesus and get saved than to die like an atheist who faces the everlasting torment of hell. Don't die like an atheist who rejects Jesus and fears hell. Before the infidel Thomas Hobbs died, he said "I am about to take my last voyage, a great leap in the dark." Before the atheist Voltaire died, he said "I'm abandoned by God and man; I shall die and go to hell." Before another unknown french atheist died, he said "Hell is a refuge that hides me from God's frown." 

     Jude 13 describes these atheists that reject Jesus as raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. According to Matthew 25:41 these atheists that rejected Jesus will hear Jesus say at the judgment of the nations Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. They will learn that according to Hebrews 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. 

When you call the atheist prayer line, no one answers

When a man saw an atheist in a coffin at the funeral home

He said "All dressed up and no place to go."

An atheist had a sign in his home that said God is nowhere

A little girl that saw this sign said Praise Jesus God is now here

     Right now answer the most important question on this earth that is Eternity where? Take heed to the warning from Matthew 6:19; Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven (give to the poor according to Mark 10:21), where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. Choose to accept the Lord Jesus and receive eternal peace.

Choose To Dwell With The Lord Jesus

The I AM That Inhabiteth Eternity With Peace

     Choose to accept and dwell with the Lord Jesus called the I AM that inhabiteth eternity with peace. The Jews said to Jesus at John 8:57 Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM. Jesus is the I AM THAT I AM God who appeared to Moses in the burning bush at Exodus 3:13. Jesus is the I AM God who ten million years ago was called I AM and a million or a billion years from now will forever be called the I AM God who inhabiteth eternity. The Lord Jesus is from everlasting to everlasting. The Lord Jesus always has been and always will be. 

     The I AM Lord Jesus was not I was, I have been, or I shall be. The false New World Translation bible of the Jehovah Witnesses misquotes John 8:58 and says Jesus said to them: "Most truly I say to you, before Abraham came into existence, I have been." This is wrong. Jesus is not a has been. Jesus is the I AM THAT I AM God that inhabiteth eternity and will be God for ever and ever. Only study and preach from a KJV bible that correctly quotes John 8:58 where Jesus said Before Abraham was, I AM (not I have been). Jehovah Witnesses belong to a false cult that denies that Jesus is God. Don't argue the KJV bible with Jehovah Witnesses because they have their own false New World Translation bible. Instead show the love of God to these unsaved Jehovah Witnesses to save their souls.

     The false New World Translation also misquotes John 1:1 saying In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god. This is wrong. Jesus is not just a little g god, Jesus is always a capital G God forever. Only study and preach from a KJV bible that correctly quotes John 1:1: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word (Jesus) was God. Revelation 19:13 says that Jesus who is the Word is God. And He (Jesus) was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called The Word of God.

     Jesus proclaimed at Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty (note that the Greek definition for Almighty is God and that Jesus is God). Tell all Muslims that Jesus Himself said that He is the Almighty God at Revelation 1:8. 

     Choose the Lord Jesus and inhabit peaceful eternity in heaven. You will be with Jesus and His seven blessed I AMs pictured above. How comforting that at John 15:1 Jesus said I AM the true vine; at John 10:7 Jesus said I AM the door of the sheep; at John 6:35 Jesus said I AM the bread of life; at John 11:25 Jesus said I AM the resurrection, and the life; at John 10:11 Jesus said I AM the good shepherd; at John 14:6 Jesus said I AM the way, the truth, and the life; and at John 8:12 Jesus said I AM the light of the world.  

     Remember it's very important to make a decision about the question Eternity where? One billion years from now everyone that ever lived on this earth is going to be alive somewhere (either in heaven or in hell). Every person will spend eternity somewhere. Therefore take heed to the wise instruction from Bob Jones Sr. who said "I have to live forever somewhere so I better figure out how to live." Choose Jesus. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.
