Some Would He Did

Today's message is titled some would He did. Some men would scarcely die for a righteous man and perhaps peradventure even dare to die for a good man. But our Lord Jesus did die (not just for righteous and good people); Jesus died for us when we were yet sinners. The bible states this at Romans 5:6-8 that says For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

The greatest love was when our Lord Jesus died on the cross for sinners. John 15:13 says Greater love hath no man than this, that a man (Jesus) lay down his life for His friends (on the cross). 1 John 3:16 says Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down His life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. Everyone is looking for the love of God to be preached at their church. Only when churches and ministers preach about love and the cross of Jesus (instead of empty prosperity messages about money) will people feel love. 1 John 4:10 tells us that Jesus' death on the cross is love: 1 John 4:10 says Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He (The Father) loved us, and sent His Son (Jesus) to be the propitiation (appeasing sacrifice by Jesus on the cross to satisfy God) for our sins.

And Jesus loved sinners by becoming a willing sacrifice for them on the cross where he with joy died for them on the cross to set them free from the bondage of sin, the devil, and hell. John 10:17-18 proves that Jesus, unlike people, was willing to die on a cross for sinners to save their souls from hell. Jesus said Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

Some men would scarcely or perhaps peradventure
die for a righteous or good man

Maximilian Kolbe died for Franciszek Gajowniczek (Francis)
and saved Francis' life

One man other than Jesus who died for a friend was Maximilian Kolbe. Maximilian Kolbe was in the German Auschwitz concentration camp in 1941. Maximilian was a single christian minister that never married. The rule of the Nazis at Auschwitz was if one prisoner escaped, ten men would be randomly chosen and locked in a cellar until they starved to death.

After a man escaped from the camp, the Nazis chose ten men to die of starvation in a cellar. One of the chosen men Franciszek Gajowniczek (Francis) was a married man with a wife and children. After Francis was chosen, Francis began to sob uncontrollably, begging for his life. Francis kept saying My wife, my children; My wife, my children.

When the ten men stepped forward to be escorted to a cellar to die of starvation, Maximilian Kolbe said that he wanted to take Francis' place and die for Francis. Maximilian said I don't have a wife; I don't have children. I want to take Francis' place. Francis was so stunned by what Maximilian did that he was speechless. Francis later regreted that he didn't tell Maximilian thank you.

Maximilian Kolbe was locked in a cellar among ten people to starve to death. Maximilian outlasted the other nine men and finally a Nazi soldier killed Maximilian Kolbe. Francis survived and was reunited with his wife and children. Francis lived to be 95 and before he died in 1997, Francis said that there was not a day in his life that he did not tell someone else about what Maximilian Kolbe had done for him.

Like Francis, there should not be a day in any saved saint's life that they do not tell someone else that Jesus died on a cross for their sins so they could live forever in the peaceful kingdom of God. Like Francis, Brother Bob tells everyone reading this to get saved, repent, stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for them on the cross, was buried, and rose again.

While we were yet sinners
Christ died for us

Jesus died for my good friend David Berkowitz
The former murderer called the Son of Sam
Who is now saved and called the Son of Hope

Some men like Maximilian Kolbe would die for a good man named Franciszek Gajowniczek. But Jesus died for sinners like my good friend of 10 years David Berkowitz ( a former murderer who now is saved and has blessed 500000, a half a million people, with the good news of our Lord Jesus). And the blood of Jesus has cleansed David Berkowitz of all his former sins and made him white as snow.

I'm honored to say that David Berkowitz is my good friend who I've written letters to for over 10 years. David will definitely be in heaven forever because he repented, confessed everywhere that Jesus is God, and daily tells everyone to believe the gospel that Jesus died for them on the cross, was buried, and rose again. There have been times in my life, when the only encouragement I received was from a letter from David Berkowitz whose prayers from prison kept Brother Bob alive. You can read about David Berkowitz's salvation and writings for Jesus at his website titled ariseandshine.org. David's website ariseandshine.org has Brother Bob's approval where you can read David's journal and writings about our Lord Jesus.

Remember someone can murder, kill, rape, and do evil; but if they repent and confess that Jesus is God and believe the gospel, they are saved and go to heaven. On the other hand, someone can be good, help everyone, and go to church every Sunday; but if they don't believe and confess that Jesus is God and believe the gospel (the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus), they die and go to hell. Good people without Jesus go to hell. Wicked sinners that repent and confess that Jesus is God and believe the gospel go to heaven like my good friend David Berkowitz.

I pray in Jesus name this little bible study blesses multitudes all over this earth with great joy, peace, and strength. How To Get All Your Prayers Answered And Be Blessed

LISTEN TO GOD AND GOD WILL LISTEN TO YOU

Today we learn that there is a way that anyone can have all their prayers answered. If anyone listens to God, God will listen to them and answer all their prayers. In other words, we reap what we sow. If anyone ignores God (never reads their bible or goes to church) and is only concerned about this world, God will ignore them and not answer their prayers.

But, if anyone listens to God daily by memorizing and reading the bible, going to church always and listening to the pastor preach the bible, and obeying the instructions of the Holy Spirit, God will listen to them and answer all their prayers. And the more anyone listens to God (takes more time reading the bible and going to church), the more God will answer all their prayers. This should make anyone want to read the bible cover to cover this year and reread the bible again every year.

Notice that Zechariah 7:13 says Therefore it is come to pass, that as He (The Lord Jesus) cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the Lord of hosts. In other words, Zechariah said that because the people did not listen to God, God did not listen to them and answer any of their prayers. These people reaped what they sowed. They did not listen to God; so God did not listen to them.

Proverbs 1:24 also tells us that when people do not listen to God, God will not listen to them and will not answer their prayers. God says at Proverbs 1:24 Because I have called and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand and no man regarded; But ye have set at naught all my counsel and would none of my reproof; I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you; Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me.

But notice that Proverbs 1:33 tells us that when people listen to God, God listens to them and blesses them with peace and safety, answering all their prayers. The Lord Jesus said at Proverbs 1:33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil. Alright let's learn three ways to listen to God and get all our prayers answered.

WAYS TO LISTEN TO GOD AND GET ALL YOUR PRAYERS ANSWERED

1) DAILY READ AND MEMORIZE YOUR BIBLE

The first way to listen to our Lord Jesus and get all our prayers answered is to daily read and memorize the bible. God speaks to us through His Word. The bible is God's Word to us that we need to listen to daily. How often are you reading and memorizing the bible so you can listen to God and get all your prayers answered? God speaks from the bible because the phrase "saith the Lord" occurs over 800 times in the bible. Like Brother Bob, keep daily reciting and memorizing bible scriptures. Psalm 119:11 says Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Right now claim it and say Job 23:12 Neither have I gone back from the commandment of His lips; I have esteemed the words of His mouth more than my necessary food. Say Jeremiah 15:16 Thy words were found and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart; for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts.

Jesus told us at 1 Timothy 4:13 Till I come, give attendance (pay close attention) to reading (the Word of God), to exhortation, to doctrine. And Proverbs 4:20 says My son, attend (pay close attention) to my words; incline thine ear unto mine sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. If you take time to attend to and daily read and memorize the bible, the Lord Jesus will say that man or woman is listening to me so I'm gonna listen to them when they pray and grant their requests.

GEORGE MULLER
A MAN THAT LISTENED TO GOD AND HAD ALL HIS PRAYERS ANSWERED

Let's learn from history's man of faith George Muller who listened to God and had all his prayers answered. George Muller started an orphanage in Bristol England during the 1800s after 26 orphan children were left abandoned at his doorstep. Eventually by faith George Muller took care of 10000 orphan children at his blessed orphanage (2100 orphans every year) for 40 years. For 40 years, none of the orphans ever lacked food, clothing, shelter, or education. And 163 of the 10000 orphans became missionaries that traveled to foreign lands to preach the gospel and win souls.

Now note that during George Muller's life, George read and memorized the KJV bible from cover to cover 200 times (100 times on his knees). George listened to God daily by reading and memorizing the bible, and therefore God listened to George and answered and granted over 20000 prayer requests. George made a catalog of all his 20000 prayers and told no one during his life about these noted prayers. After George Muller died, his notebook was found with 20000 specific prayer requests and the day God answered each of the 20000 prayer requests. George Muller said he couldn't remember any of his prayers that God did not answer. Because George Muller listened to God, the Lord Jesus allowed George to print 111 million gospel tracts, and God gave George Muller over 5 million dollars for his orphanages.

WAYS TO LISTEN TO GOD AND GET ALL YOUR PRAYERS ANSWERED

2) ALWAYS GO TO CHURCH AND LISTEN TO THE PREACHER
SPEAK GOD'S WORD

Another way to listen to God and get all your prayers answered is to always go to church and listen to the preacher speak God's Word. God has preachers speak his Word for saints to listen to and then get all their prayers answered. Amos 3:7 tells us Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but He revealeth His secret unto His servants, the prophets (the preacher spokesmen and speakers). We need to always attend our local church and listen to the blessed secrets from God's word that are only revealed to our pastors.

And note that the Lord Jesus speaks to us and manifests his Word to us through the preaching of the pastors in our local churches. This is proven by Titus 1:3 that says But hath in due times manifested His Word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour.

If you give your undivided attention to the pastor and the preachers in your local church, God will give His undivided attention to your prayers and grant all your requests. If you make the effort to always attend and support your local church, the Lord Jesus will see your effort and listen to and answer all your prayer requests. It's important to attend church whenever the doors of your local church are open. The more you attend and listen to the preaching of God's Word at your local church, the more God will listen to your prayers and grant all your requests.

We should all be like my friend Pastor Art Kohl who always plans to attend church all day Sunday and Wednesday night anywhere he travels for vacations. When Art plans to travel to Idaho, Jamaica, or Alaska, Art searches and finds a local church in Idaho, Jamaica, or Alaska that he can attend all day Sunday or Wednesday. You won't find Art on the beach in Jamaica all day Sunday during his vacation; Hallelujah, Art will be in a Jamaican church all day Sunday listening to the Word of God. And wow Art testified that he has not missed a Sunday or Wednesday church service anytime anywhere during any vacation for over 50 years.

Finally, Art Kohl said that we all need to always attend church to hear the Word of God to get our prayers answered. If you don't like a particular church, find any church anywhere; Just go somewhere where you can hear someone preaching from the KJV bible. Romans 10:14 tells us How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things.

WAYS TO LISTEN TO GOD AND GET ALL YOUR PRAYERS ANSWERED

3) LISTEN TO AND OBEY THE HOLY SPIRIT'S INSTRUCTIONS

Finally, if we listen to and obey the Holy Spirit's instructions, God will listen to and answer all our prayers. Isaiah 30:21 proves that the Holy Spirit speaks to us saying And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

In other words, the more we listen to and obey the Holy Spirit's instructions, the more God will listen to and answer our prayers. When the Holy Spirit tells us to stop sinning (fornicating, being angry, speaking negative words, drinking alcohol, gambling, and smoking weed) we need to obey the Spirit's instructions to be blessed. We need to obey the Spirit and witness and tell everyone to repent, get saved, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for them on the cross, was buried, and rose again to get our prayers answered.

We need to obey the Spirit and visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction speaking kind words to get our prayers answered. We need to obey the Spirit and stop looking at sinful websites or listening to ungodly music to get our prayers answered. We need to obey the Spirit and try daily to never curse anyone but instead speak kindly to everyone (even the unloveable), blessing and loving our enemies, while we deny our flesh to get our prayers answered. We need to obey the Spirit, and call people on the phone with kind words of prayer to uplift and encourage people everywhere to get our prayers answered.

Finally, remember to always pray and make your requests to God, instead of trying on your own to fix your problem. There is never a wrong time to pray. Luke 18:1 says And He spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint. And 1 Thessalonians 5:17 tells us to pray without ceasing. And James 5:16 tells us that the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Whenever you face any trouble, learn to first tell the trouble to God in prayer (instead of trying to fix it yourself) and because you listen to God, God will listen to you and answer your prayer. Philippians 4:6 says Be careful for nothing (don't worry); but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Friends everywhere, after you read this bible study, I pray in Jesus name that God will answer all your prayers and grant your requests. I claim in Jesus name for all my friends 1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in Him (Jesus) that if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us; And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.

I pray in Jesus name that this bible study blesses multitudes all over this earth with great joy, peace, and strength where Jesus listens to and answers all their prayers. Take These 8 Steps And Become A Better Christian Seeing Afar Off

Faith, Virtue, Knowledge, Temperance
Patience, Godliness, Brotherly Kindness, Charity

Today, let's learn 8 steps to become a better christian and see afar off. These 8 steps that one must climb on God's ladder to become a better christian are faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and charity. These 8 steps are listed at 2 Peter 1:5 that says And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, charity. For if these things be in you and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

These 8 steps need to be taken one at a time in order to be blessed and see Jesus afar off. I pray in Jesus name that anyone reading this anywhere will take the first step of faith and get saved now. Repent and stop sinning, and believe by faith that Jesus is God, believing the gospel that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again. OK lets take these 8 steps one at a time and learn how to be blessed and see Jesus.

1) FAITH

The first step to take on God's ladder to be blessed and a better christian is faith. One must first have faith and believe Jesus is God to get saved. Ephesians 2:8 tells us For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast. It takes faith in Jesus without works to get saved. But, after we get saved then we should bless the poor with good works to make our faith live. Faith without works is dead (James 2:17). We don't live right to get saved. We live right because we are saved. And after we get saved, Jesus will give us a reward for all our good works of witnessing on this earth at the bema judgment seat.

Therefore faith is our beginning point in our ascent up God's ladder to seeing Jesus afar off and innumerable peaceful blessings. The bible says to add on to your faith virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and charity. I'm gonna discuss each of these 7 other steps. I pray in Jesus name my brothers and sisters are willing to take a journey upward on this ladder to become better christians and see Jesus clearly afar off. How high are you willing to climb up these 7 steps?  Don't be like many christians who stop at faith and refuse to climb higher.

                                                             2) VIRTUE

OK, lets look at the second step virtue that a saved person must take to become a better christian. The first thing a saint should do after they get saved is stop sinning their former sins and be virtuous. Determine to daily stop living your former sinful lifestyle and climb the second step by becoming virtuous. Quit committing fornication (premarital or extramarital sex), drunkenness, drug abuse, pornography, and revelling where you listen to loud ungodly music all night.

Pictured above Ephesians 5:3 tells us But fornication and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you as becometh saints. Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient, but rather giving of thanks. 2 Corinthians 7:1 tells us Having therefore these promises dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. Quit gambling at the casinos and buying lottery tickets which is idolatry and covetousness defined as the greed for money stated at Colossians 3:5. People at casinos aren't thinking about Jesus; the people at casinos are just thinking about money. You can't serve two gods (Jesus and money). Make the choice to serve and love the Lord Jesus instead of loving money that is the root of all evil.

                                                      3) KNOWLEDGE

Alright, time to move up to the third step of knowledge. After you stop sinning and become virtuous, move on to knowledge by learning all you can about the Word of God. Daily read, listen to, and memorize the bible. If you constantly memorize the bible, Psalm 1 and Psalm 107 promise that God will fix all your problems and heal you. Psalm 1 says Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalm 107:20 says He sent His Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

The bible is your road map to overcome any trouble in this life. All the answers to any problem can be found in the bible. Pictured above Psalm 119:130 tells us The entrance of thy Words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. We daily need to get knowledge from the bible to have life and not die. Take heed to the prophet Hosea's warning to people who refuse to read their bibles and learn knowledge. Hosea 4:6 says My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; Because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee.

Right now I pray in Jesus name that you can confidently say Job 23:12 to our Lord Jesus: Neither have I gone back from the commandment of His lips; I have esteemed the words of His mouth more than my necessary food. Climb that 3'rd step of knowledge and boldly say Jeremiah 15:16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts. Lord Jesus grant great peace to anyone who chooses to climb the 3'rd step of knowledge because Psalm 119:165 promises Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

                                                     4) TEMPERANCE

OK, after faith, virtue, and knowledge, take the 4'th step of temperance defined as self control over your flesh. Notice also that temperance is defined as abstinence from alcoholic drink. One of your worst enemies beside the devil is yourself. When you memorize the bible daily, the Word will show you how to deny the sins of your flesh and stop drinking wine, beer, whiskey and smoking pot. Determine today to have temperance and obey Luke 9:23 by telling our Lord Jesus, I'll come after you, deny myself, and take up the cross daily and follow you.

If you want to get off cigarettes, alcohol, cocaine, and marijuana, instead of going to psychologists, psychiatrists, alcoholics anonymous, and drug rehab programs, read and memorize the bible daily, and the Word of God will give you the self control and temperance to stop drinking and taking drugs. Daily say I am crucified with Jesus Christ and your cravings for cigarettes, alcohol, and drugs will disappear and be destroyed forevermore. Jesus and His Word will give you victory over any drug or alcohol problem. 1 Corinthians 15:57 promises But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 2:14 promises Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ.

                                                        5) PATIENCE

Alright, let's move up to the 5'th step of patience. It takes patience to daily deny your flesh. Our flesh wants to sin constantly. But, 1 John 4:4 tells us that greater is He (Jesus) that is in you, than he that is in the world. When our flesh wants to constantly grumble and complain, thinking negative thoughts to rude unloveable people around us, we need to patiently deny and have our flesh love our enemies, speak kindly, and bless everyone.

Remember we reap what we sow. Jesus said if you want to have friends, you must show yourself friendly. If you want to receive love and kindness, you must show love and kindness to everyone. Don't curse anyone to avoid curses returning to you. Right now I pray in Jesus name anyone reading this will have all curses and negative words past, present, and future rebuked and destroyed forevermore that they harm no one.

Everyday patiently stop yourself from grumbling, complaining, and thinking negative thoughts to rude people. Brother Bob has to daily try to love and speak kindly to everyone on a crowded city bus after a long day of work. Jesus told us at Matthew 5:44 Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you. Love enemies that make you suffer; love them through the pain and Jesus will remove the pain. Remember a soft answer turneth away wrath. Avoid negative angry thoughts that take away strength and waste energy.

Friends, when you master this 5'th step of patience and totally deny your flesh, you will be perfect, entire, and wanting nothing. James 1:4 promises But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect, entire, and wanting nothing. In other words, we all need to get victory over ourselves and our flesh. Paul promised that with Jesus we can have victory over our flesh daily. Paul said at Romans 7:24 O wretched man that I am. Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

                                                        6) GODLINESS

Now notice that the first 5 steps of God's ladder try to better the self. If you successfully climb the first five steps of faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, and patience and improve yourself, then you can move on to truly see Jesus and climb the 6'th step of godliness. Instead of looking at yourself, you will be looking upward at Jesus for your blessings.

I remember a preacher said if you look back it's bad, if you look around it's worse, but if you look up to Jesus, things are looking pretty good. The outlooks bad, the downlooks worse, but the uplook is looking pretty good. And if you have the right uplook, you'll have the right outlook and win souls to Jesus. Luke 21:28 says when you see these things begin to come to pass (the troubles of the world), look up and lift up your heads for your redemption (Jesus) draweth nigh. What a blessing to have godliness and say 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Claim your godliness and that Jesus lives in you to overcome any burdens and problems. Right now say Acts 17:28 For in Him (Jesus) we live, and move, and have our being. Say Galatians 2:20 nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me. And finally rejoice and say Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

                                               7) BROTHERLY KINDNESS

Notice that after you successfully climb the 6'th step of godliness, the focus will be off yourself and on people around you. You will begin to be concerned for lost unsaved sinners around you and poor widows and orphans while you climb the blessed 7'th step of brotherly kindness. You will realize the importance of praying for and showing kindness to your brothers and sisters in your church. God tells us at Romans 12:10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour prefering one another.

Remember to give your life purpose and meaning show brotherly kindness to everyone and win souls to our Lord Jesus. Proverbs 11:30 tells us the fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. If you convert a sinner from the error of his ways, you save a soul from death, and hide a multitude of sins. And Jude 21 says of some have compassion, making a difference, and others save with fear pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Only what we do for Jesus on this earth matters and is important.

                                                            8) CHARITY

Finally, I pray in Jesus name we can all climb the 8'th step charity and be able to see clearly afar off all the blessings of Jesus. Charity is the highest attribute where a person has completely given their life as a sacrifice to our Lord Jesus to serve and bless everyone. Charity is the highest goal that we should all strive to reach; 1 Peter 4:8 says And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves, for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

Once you have climbed the 8'th step of charity, you have successfully completed your 8 story skyscraper and can truly walk in the high places with Jesus hidden from the troubles of the devil. Claim it and say Habakkuk 3:18-19 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, and He will make my feet like hinds feet, and He will make me to walk upon mine high places. And claim Isaiah 58:14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

Now that you know how to climb the 8 steps to become a better christian seeing afar off, take time to sing the words below of Higher Ground while you left click the following link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYCkqCG933M. Be blessed and climb the 8 steps on the upward way to higher ground, eternal peace, and blessings with our Lord Jesus.

I'm pressing on the upward way; new heights I'm gaining every day
Still praying as I'm onward bound; Lord plant my feet on higher ground

My heart has no desire to stay; where doubts arise and fears dismay
Though some may dwell where these abound; my prayer, my aim is higher ground

I want to scale the utmost height; and catch a gleam of glory bright
But still I'll pray till heaven I've found; Lord lead me on to higher ground

I want to live above the world; though satan's darts at me are hurled
For faith has caught the joyful sound; the song of saints on higher ground

Lord lift me up and let me stand; by faith on heaven's tableland
A higher plane that I have found; Lord plant my feet on higher ground

How Barzillai Blessed Chimham

Today, we look at an 80 year old man in the bible named Barzillai who blessed King David and a lowly servant named Chimham. The first time Barzillai is mentioned in the bible is at 2 Samuel 17:27 when he blessed King David who needed help when he lived in the wilderness at Mahanaim because he was fleeing from his son Absalom. 2 Samuel 17:28 says Barzillai and his friends blessed King David with beds and basons, and earthen vessels, and wheat and barley, beans, and lentiles, and parched pulse. And honey and butter, and sheep, and cheese of kine. For Barzillai said the people is hungry and weary and thirsty in the wilderness.

Then, David became the king again after he defeated his son Absalom in battle. Barzillai is again mentioned in the bible at 2 Samuel 19:32 that says Now Barzillai was a very aged man, even fourscore years old (80), and he had provided the king of sustenance while he lay at Mahanaim, for he was a very great man. Now notice that King David offered Barzillai to live the rest of his life with him in a palace at Jerusalem. 2 Samuel 19:33 says And the king said unto Barzillai Come thou over with me, and I will feed thee with me in Jerusalem?

Now notice Barzillai's response to David's generous offer. 2 Samuel 19:34 says And Barzillai said unto the king How long have I to live that I should go up with the king unto Jerusalem? And wow Barzillai was kind and allowed his poor lowly servant named Chimham to take his place and live with King David in the palace. 2 Samuel 19:38 says But behold thy servant Chimham, let him go over with my lord the king; and do to him what shall seem good unto thee. And the king answered, Chimham shall go over with me and I will do to him that which shall seem good unto thee and whatsoever thou shalt require of me, that will I do for thee.

Barzillai is a good example of how older people should act as christians. Most people would not refuse an offer to live in royalty with a king for the rest of their lives. But Barzillai did not want to be a burden to King David. Barzillai told King David instead of worrying about caring for me, you should be concerned about governing the people. Barzillai said King David bless poor lowly Chimham who is young and can enjoy a lifetime of blessings in a palace. I'm 80 years old and can only enjoy the palace for only a couple of years; but Chimham can enjoy the palace for decades.

How Barzillai blessed Chimham reminds me of how King Jesus blessed multitudes of poor sinners like you and me. 2 Corinthians 8:9 tells us For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich. Like Barzillai, wealthy Jesus was willing to sacrifice his life and die on a cross for our sins so His blood could cleanse away all our sins and allow us to live forever in the kingdom as kings and priests in royalty.

Like Chimham, we were all slaves and servants to sin; But because of Jesus' sacrifice by dying on the cross, now we are kings and priests blessed forevermore with peace in God's kingdom. We will rule and reign with Jesus forevermore like Chimham ruled and reigned with King David.

Right now, Brother Bob prays that anyone reading this would decide to accept Jesus' free offer of salvation and blessings like Chimham accepted Barzillai's free offer to be saved from poverty and live in royalty with the king. Just decide to stop sinning and repent; make Jesus your God, and believe daily that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again. And you will be like Chimham and live in royalty forevermore with a King named Jesus.

Another thing we see about Barzillai is that he considered the poor and blessed poor Chimham. Let's be like Barzillai and consider the poor all around us. Visit the widows and fatherless, feed hungry little kids, and always call people with encouraging words. Psalm 41 promises many blessings if you just consider and listen to the poor. Psalm 41 says Blessed is he that considereth the poor; the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.

And also notice that Barzillai expected nothing in return for his kindness to King David. Barzillai was a good example of how we should give blessings to people, expecting nothing in return (no strings attached). Whenever anyone tells you after all I've done for you, this is not how christians should give blessings. Like Barzillai, lets obey Luke 6:35 but love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest; for He is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

Barzillai is a good example of how senior citizens should act

DO YOUR GIVING WHILE YOU'RE LIVING
SO YOU'LL BE A KNOWING WHERE ITS A GOING

Like 80 year old Barzillai, do your giving while you're living so you'll be a knowing where its a going. Don't be a tightwad and hoard all your money, thinking you'll live forever. Senior citizens that are stingy and never bless anyone with a penny die and allow the state to collect all their money. Instead, bless widows, orphans, missionaries, and churches with your money while you are living; This will give you joy to see hungry kids fed with your money, widows happy and able to pay their bills, and multitudes saved for Jesus by missionaries because of a kind gift. I hope I leave out of here penniless and give away everything to poor needy people.

Now notice that Barzillai's farewell to King David was sweet. 2 Samuel 19:39 says And all the people went over Jordan. And when the king was come over, the king kissed Barzillai and blessed him and he returned unto his own place. Like Barzillai, when you leave this earth let it be sweet where people will call you a blessing.

Unfortunately, 2/3 of the elderly people in nursing homes never get a single visitor because they are crabs, sour, mean, and grumpy. These elderly people are crabs and say my kids never visit me and people only visit me for my money. Instead start calling your kids and tell them I love you and thank God for you. If your kids visit you in the nursing home, tell your kids thanks for visiting and taking time to visit me. This will make your kids come back and visit if you are kind and pleasant.

The bible says you must show yourself friendly to get friends. We reap what we sow. If you want someone to be kind and friendly to you, you must be kind and friendly to everyone. And don't curse anyone to avoid curses. I pray in Jesus name that anyone reading this will have all negative thoughts and curses rebuked and eliminated past present and future where no one is harmed. Remember our flesh is one of our worst enemies that we must deny daily. Get in the habit of daily telling your flesh to stop grumbling and complaining with negative words; Constantly replace these negative words and say I bless everyone and speak kind words of peace always.

If you're elderly, be like Barzillai and do kind things for everyone. Take time to read the bible with little kids like the elderly man pictured above. Senior citizens should be good christian examples to our youth. While you are alive make decisions to bless multitudes of people all over this earth many years after your death.

Make your senior years, years of reconciliation instead of building dividing walls between your kids about who will receive your inheritance. Be like Saul and Jonathan pictured above who in their death were not divided. When Saul was young, he was mean and tried to kill his son Jonathan for protecting David by throwing a javelin at him. But Saul reconciled and made peace with his son Jonathan before his death and was not divided before his death.

Like Saul, senior citizens let there be no division between you and your kids before you leave this earth. Humble yourself like Saul and apologize to your kids and leave this earth sweet like Barzillai. Finish sweet and strong like Barzillai where people will always have nice things to say about you years after you leave this earth.

Oh by the way, King David kept his promise and blessed Chimham to live in in a beautiful home by the palace in Bethlehem. All these blessings were given to Chimham because of a blessed generous senior citizen named Barzillai who considered his poor servant Chimham. This is proven by Jeremiah 41:17 that says And they departed, and dwelt in the habitation of Chimham, which is by Bethlehem (where David lived) to enter into Egypt.
