Study the picture above where Jesus wrote on the ground and then saved the woman taken in adultery from stoning by saying at John 8:7 He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. Since according to Romans 3:23 all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God, no person could stone the woman because they were all sinners. But the Lord Jesus who is perfect and could have stoned the adulterous woman showed mercy. 1 Peter 2:22 tells us that Jesus is perfect saying Who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth. Jesus said to the woman who committed adultery and to all of us who are sinners at John 8:11 Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
What Did Jesus Write On The Ground?
John 8:3 speaks about Jesus writing on the ground and then saving a woman taken in the act of adultery from her accusers. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto Him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting Him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with His finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
So when they continued asking Him, he lifted up Himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again He stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up Himself, and saw none but the woman, He said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. and Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
The Lord Jesus wrote the names of the scribes and the Pharisees in the earth who found fault with the adulterous woman, thereby fulfilling the prophecy of Jeremiah 17:13. O Lord, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living waters. By writing in the dust, Jesus was visually illustrating and fulfilling Jeremiah's prophecy, indicating that the accusers, by rejecting Him (the fountain of living waters mentioned just a chapter earlier at John 7:38) were the very people written in the earth.
Jesus said at John 7:37 If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. But this spake He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified. After Jesus spoke about the fountain of living waters that represents Jesus and the Holy Spirit, the scribes and Pharisees brought accusations against Jesus before the adulterous woman. Then Jesus wrote the names of the scribes and the Pharisees in the earth, thereby fulfilling the prophecy of Jeremiah 17:13. The names of the scribes and Pharisees who departed from Jesus were written in the earth because they had forsaken the Lord Jesus who is the fountain of living waters.
OK, you all might say what does the above picture represent. Open your bibles to Proverbs 30:4 and realize that the Lord Jesus is so powerful that He can gather the wind in his fists. Proverbs 30:4 says Who hath ascended up into heaven or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of he earth? what is His name, and what is His Son's name, if thou canst tell? I could shout for joy forever and give you the answer to the above question in one word (Jesus).
Proverbs 30:4 tells us that the Lord Jesus hath gathered the wind in His fists. In other words Jesus can hold the wind fast in His fists or let the wind loose by just opening His fists. What a powerful God the Lord Jesus is who can stop a tornado or cyclone by just gathering the wind in his fists.
And the name of Jesus is so powerful that according to Mark 16:17, the name of Jesus will cast out devils. Brother Bob needs to give you all a quick testimony about the name of Jesus. Forty years ago almost every week someone was breaking into my apartment and car and stealing things. Jesus told me to do what Mark 16:17 said and write on a piece of paper in bold black letters JESUS to make the devil flee because the devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy. The Word of God is true. For forty years I've always put the name of JESUS on the outside door of my apartment and in my car I've always had an I LOVE JESUS air freshener, and for forty years nothing has been stolen or taken from my apartment or car except a bible that a thief who got convicted after he broke into my 1995 Toyota Tercel stole. I got so happy I wrote the name JESUS over my bed, on the bedroom door, bathroom door, on the kitchen wall, on the refrigerator and freezer, and on my cellphone and computer and I've really had a blessed apartment. Hallelujah thank you Father for naming your son JESUS.

Now to anyone who forevermore will read this blog, there is no excuse when someone says there is no God. Romans 1:20 says For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse. Psalm 14:1 says the fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Right now get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.
All these things in nature praise Jesus and Brother Bob prays in Jesus name don't let a rock or any created object have more sense than any person reading this writing. Here's what praises Jesus according to Psalm 148: Heavens, heights, angels, hosts sun, moon, stars of light, heavens of heavens, waters that be above the heavens, dragons, deeps, fire, hail, snow, vapours, stormy wind, mountains, hills, fruitful trees, cedars, beasts, all cattle, (someone told me once that when cows kneel down they pray to Jesus), creeping things, flying fowl, kings of the earth, all people, princes, all judges, young men, maidens, old men, and children.
After reading this list, we learn that only Jesus can bring us all together. I've preached meetings where ninety year old grandparents rejoiced with little five year old children about Jesus. Jesus brings together all people (red, yellow, black, and white; they're all precious in His sight). Jesus said at John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. I've never met a person that regretted having the Lord Jesus in their life. Jesus always makes a person better and a blessing.
Psalm 104:1 says Bless the Lord, O my soul, O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: Who layeth the beams of His chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds His chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind. According to the picture above Jesus has a garment that is light because Jesus is the light. In the kingdom of God there is no night or darkness forever. Jesus will be the light of the kingdom of God. Revelation 22:5 says And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light; and they shall reign for ever and ever. John 8:12 says Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world; he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
The gospel good news is daily remembering Jesus Christ crucified, buried, and risen with your hearts and realizing that all your problems forevermore have been destroyed by Jesus at the cross (Hebrews 2:14) that is like a cup of cold water to a thirsty soul. The bible is like a jigsaw puzzle that we put together where we compare the old testament to the new testament and see Jesus. Now put these two scriptures together. First read Proverbs 25:25 that says As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country. Now look at Romans 1:16 that says For I am not ashamed of the gospel (good news or glad tidings) of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
The gospel message about the Lord Jesus is both power and like a refreshing cup of cold water to a thirsty soul. The gospel (the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ) is not a secret to be hoarded but a story to be heralded. The gospel is not something you go to church to hear but is something you take from church to tell lost sinners. Replace the Exit sign on your church door with the words You are now entering the mission field.
Get saved today with Jesus and don't be ashamed or feel guilty about your past sins because the blood of Jesus cleanses sinners and removes sin. 1 John 1:7 says But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin. Revelation 22:17 says And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. John 8:36 say If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Note two more powerful scriptures to meditate on that show how awesome Jesus is. First look at Job 26:7 that says He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing. He bindeth up the waters in His thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them. A puritan writer in the 1600s said that Jesus has the power to bring with just a breath the whole creation out of a barren womb of nothing. Psalm 33:8 says Let all the earth fear the Lord. Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spake and it was done, He commanded and it stood fast.
Psalm 119:162 says I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil. Some people get happy when they discover buried treasure or win millions of dollars in the lottery. But in Jesus name I say to all the saved saints who read this writing forevermore, shout, rejoice, and praise God because you discovered and received the best treasure (Jesus). 2 Corinthians 4:7 says But we have this treasure (Jesus) in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
Getting Jesus is better than winning the lottery or having all the most expensive treasures and jewels that this world has to offer. And don't forget this gem given to us by the prophet Isaiah at Isaiah 55:12 that says For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. The birds are singing praises to Jesus in the mountains and the hills while the branches of the trees clap their hands in the wind offering praise to our Lord Jesus.
Psalm 33:6 says By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: He layeth up the depth in storehouses. Job 38:8 says Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it. And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors, And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?
Psalm 33:6 says By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: He layeth up the depth in storehouses. Job 38:8 says Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it. And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors, And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?
Swaddlingbands are linen cloths wrapped around new born infants to restrict, control, and calm the babies. Jesus made the thick darkness a swaddlingband to restrict, control, and calm the raging seas. The reason thick darkness is a swaddlingband for the raging sea is because soon in the kingdom of God no darkness and raging sea will exist around the light of Jesus that is seven times brighter than the sun. The raging sea will disappear into the thick darkness according to Revelation 21:1 that says And I saw a new heaven and a new earth for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. No more sea with its storms, scares from sharks or squids, or sin that separates us from God. According to Revelation 22:1 only a peaceful pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, will proceed out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
I ask you all to look at nature and the sheep in the pastures, the corn in the valleys, and the birds that all praise our Lord Jesus. Like these things in nature let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord (Psalm 150:6). Jesus hears you and will deliver you. Psalm 65:13 says The pastures are clothed with flocks (sheep); the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing. If you walk through a cornfield, you will hear the corn praising the Lord Jesus while it stretches and grows. Birds have bills but they keep on singing.
Isaiah 65:24 declares And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. Look at Hosea 2:21 that says And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the Lord, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth; And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel (God sows). A puritan writer in the 1600s wrote Jezreel (God) speaks to the corn, wine, and oil to nourish her. These speak to the earth, the earth speaks to the heavens, and the heavens speak to the Lord Jesus upon whom they depend. Romans 8:22 says For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
