Four Alls Of The Great Commission; Like The Shopkeeper Of The Troy General Store Get Saved And Approved By King Jesus; Why The Lord Jesus Is Our Hiding Place; How Augustus Toplady Wrote Rock Of Ages

The Four Alls Of The Great Commission
All Power, All Nations, All Commands, And All Ways

Let's learn the four alls of the Great Commission. The Lord Jesus told everyone the Great Commission at  Matthew 28:18. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

First Jesus told us that he has all power over the entire universe. Jesus said All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. This provides christians with confidence to witness Jesus everywhere to the uttermost part of the earth. A sign that you are saved with the Holy Ghost is a desire to witness Jesus to the uttermost part of the earth. Jesus said at Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

Second Jesus told us to teach all nations about Jesus. Jesus said Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. The Great Commission removes all geographical and racial barriers where the message of salvation with Jesus is for everyone, regardless of their background or culture. Red, yellow, black, and white, they are all precious in His sight. Galatians 3:28 says There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Third Jesus told us to teach all his commands everywhere. Jesus told us to not only save lost sinners but to also disciple and continue to teach everyone that gets saved from our preaching. Call people with encouragement and prayers after you lead them to Jesus. Don't just lead someone to Jesus and then forget to minister to them.

Be like Paul and Barnabas and strengthen disciples that get saved under your ministry. After winning many converts at Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch, Paul and Barnabas returned to those cities specifically to strengthen the souls of the disciples and encourage them to remain in the faith. Acts 14:21 says And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch, Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.

Fourth Jesus told us that he is with us at all times and alway, even unto the end of the world. How comforting that Hebrews 13:5 says Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he (Jesus) hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

The following scriptures tell us that Jesus is with us always to overcome any trouble in this world. Deuteronomy 31:6 says Be strong and of a good courage; fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee: he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Psalm 23:4 says Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Isaiah 41:10 says Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

The Great Commission's Prerogative, Program, And Promise
Take The Gospel Of Jesus To Every Path, City, And House Of Every Country

Notice that there is a prerogative, program, and a promise in Jesus' great commission. Jesus first stated His prerogative or right because He is the captain general of the army of angels by saying All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Then Jesus stated his program to have His saints disciple, baptize, and teach, saying, Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And finally Jesus stated His promise to the saints saying and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

All the world is before us. All power is behind us. And the All Powerful one is with us always. The great commission is a command that all saints must obey. Jesus wants us to go and teach all nations about Jesus, witnessing Jesus everywhere and saving lost souls. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

Don't waste your life by being selfish and winning no souls to Jesus. Give purpose to your life and win lost sinners to Jesus rejoicing with the angels over any sinner that repents and gets saved. Luke 15:10 says Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. In other words Jesus with innumerable saints and angels rejoice when one sinner repents and gets saved.

Notice the two words "to observe" in the great commission. Matthew 28:20 reads Teaching them "to observe" all things whatsoever I have commanded you. Not teaching them all things whatsoever I have commanded you. Today many saints teach about Jesus, but fail to tell people to observe and do Jesus' commandments.

There are a lot of hearers but few doers of the Word. James 1:22 says But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any man be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein (keeps meditating and looking at the Word of God), he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Witness Jesus everywhere and become a doer of the Word of God. Matthew 9:38 says Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth labourers into His harvest. Are you out in the field of this world reaping and winning souls to the Lord Jesus or are you just out on the sidelines grumbling and complaining? James 5:20 says Let him know that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way, shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. Proverbs 11:30 says The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. Luke 14:23 says And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Like The Shopkeeper Of The Troy General Store
Get Saved And Approved By King Jesus

Notice the Troy General Store pictured above that became dilapadated and about to go out of business. The floor was unswept, the windows were unwashed, the goods were in disorder, and the proprietor was careless and untidy. But one day the king of the country visited this little shop. After the king saw the wretched condition of the general store, he told the shopkeeper, if you do as I say, I will let you put over the store's door a sign Approved By The King. The store's owner gladly consented and changed everything. The floors were swept, the windows were washed, the goods were put in order, and the keeper cleaned himself up. Soon customers began to visit the Troy General Store from everywhere because the sign on the shop's door said Approved By The King and the till or money drawer of the shop became full.

Like the shopkeeper of the Troy General Store, let King Jesus be Lord of your life and clean up your house. People all over this earth in many nations will see that you have been Approved By King Jesus. 2 Corinthians 6:2 says That he (Jesus) saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

Let King Jesus take over the little shop of your life where you win many souls to become faithful customers who freely receive the blessings of our Lord Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:17 describes what happens when someone makes Jesus King and Lord of their life saying Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Jesus said at John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Learn this lesson about the power of fellowship and togetherness. When people pray and agree together, their prayers are more effective and powerful. I need you and you need me. We need each other. Deuteronomy 32:30 says How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their rock had sold them, and the Lord had shut them up? For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

Ecclesiastes 4:9 says Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. One ant can push a crumb, but ten ants can push the crumb faster with more power.

Jesus said at Matthew 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Crooked sticks seem to straighten themselves out when they are tied in a bundle. And a singing congregation sounds fine but I wouldn't want to hear them one at a time. I went out to find a friend and couldn't find one anywhere. I went out to be a friend and friends were everywhere.

The Lord Jesus Is Our Hiding Place From This Troubled World

A magazine editor wrote to a little girl who was afraid because of this troubled world. The magazine editor told the little girl that there is no hiding place. But the magazine editor was wrong because the Lord Jesus is our hiding place of peace and safety according to the Word of God. Psalm 91:2 says I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust. Psalm 18:2 says The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler (shield), and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Proverbs 18:10 says The name of the Lord (Jesus) is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. Isaiah 32:2 says And a man (Jesus) shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 says But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

During the great tribulation sinners will try to make mountains and rocks their hiding place from the great wrath of God. But sinners can't run and they can't hide from the Lord Jesus. Sinners will learn that the only way to hide from Jesus' presence is in Jesus' presence. The Lord Jesus said at Jeremiah 23:24  Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord. Amos 9:2 says Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down: And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them.

Our refuge and hiding place is with the Lord Jesus. Colossians 3:3 says For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory. Psalm 32:7 also speaks about Jesus saying Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. Every day let your life be hid with Jesus Christ in God. Every day say I am crucified with Jesus Christ and with Jesus' stripes I am healed. Hebrews 13:8 says that the cross of Calvary where Jesus died for our sins is the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

How Augustus Toplady Wrote Rock Of Ages

With Jesus there is a hiding place and refuge from the pride of man and the strife of tongues. Psalm 31:20 says Thou (Lord Jesus) shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues. Isaiah proclaimed that  the Lord Jesus is the Rock of Ages so saints can joyfully sing Rock of Ages cleft for me; Let me hide myself in thee.

Isaiah 26:3 says Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength (notice that the Hebrew definition for strength is Rock). Jesus is the Lord Jehovah and is an everlasting Rock of Ages. Jesus is our hiding place and refuge. Click this youtube link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gM7gt_cSxjw and sing the words of the blessed hymn Rock of Ages written by Augustus Toplady in 1775. I pray in Jesus name while you meditate on the blessed words from the Rock of Ages hymn that you receive great joy, peace, and strength. Jesus bless you all.

Augustus Toplady was inspired to write Rock of Ages after being caught in a thunderstorm while traveling through the gorge of Barrington Combe in the Mendip Hills of England. He found refuge in a large cleft in a rock. While sheltered from the storm, the words of the hymn Rock of Ages came to him, and he scribbled them on to a playing card that he found on the ground. A rock in Barrington Combe is today marked with a plaque identifying it as the "Rock of Ages" that inspired the hymn.

Blessed Thoughts About Jesus

Today we will discuss several blessed thoughts about our Lord Jesus. First remember that only in Jesus are we complete and fully blessed. Don't allow anything to sidetrack you from the complete blessings in our Lord Jesus. Pictured above we see that Colossians 2:9 says For in Him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in Him (Jesus), which is the head of all principality and power. Right now receive a complete blessing and get saved. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

Note that the supreme experience is to get past all lesser experiences to Jesus Himself. Most people stop short of the Giver Jesus because they are forever seeking this or that gift. Many a saint can testify to years of being occupied with this doctrine or that, this blessing and that, but coming one day into a larger place of resting in Jesus Himself, finding in Jesus their reward and portion. Anything short of Jesus is fractional, immature, and incomplete.

We are complete in Jesus only, not in any experience or favorite doctrine. Jesus is the experience that excels all experiences because Jesus includes them all. The whole is greater than any of the parts. Don't allow anything to remove your focus from Jesus, the cross of Calvary, and the blood of Jesus daily. Daily say I am crucified with Jesus Christ and covered by the blood of Jesus. Let the devil know daily that the blood of Jesus has overcome him, evil must pass over me, and my sins are cleansed by the blood of Jesus. Jesus said at Luke 9:23 If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Pictured above, we see yet another scripture saying that with Jesus alone we have everything we need and a complete blessing. 1 Corinthians 3:21 says Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours; Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours; And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's. Whatever is lost in this world, if we have Jesus, in Jesus we have everything. All things are ours, and we are Christ's, and Christ is God's.

Getting through to Jesus is simply arriving at the blessed point where we rest in the Blesser Jesus and not in any lesser blessing. Instead of majoring on the gift, major on the Giver Jesus. Instead of majoring on the blessing, major on the Blesser Jesus. Accept Jesus and receive rest because Jesus promised at Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. All Jesus asks is that we come to Him and Jesus will not cast us out. John 6:37 says All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Next let's learn how our Lord Jesus encouraged saints to be servants and wash one another's feet. The picture above is found at John 13:3 and says Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He was come from God, and went to God; He riseth from supper, and laid aside His garments; and took a towel, and girded Himself. After that He poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith He was girded. Even though Jesus owned everything, Jesus humbled Himself and washed the disciples' feet. Instead of magnificence, Jesus chose meniality. Instead of sublimity (excellence, grandeur, and beauty), Jesus chose service.

Jesus went on to say at John 13:14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. Jesus promised happiness to saints choosing to be servants saying at John 13:17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them. But most people come to church to sit instead of going out to serve. Instead of being nominal disciples who only agree with the theories stated by Jesus, let's become servants and care about the needs of our fellow saints. Jesus spoke a lot about being a servant. Just look in any concordance and see how many columns it takes to list all the serve, servant, and service references.

For our next blessed thought about Jesus, Brother Bob asks all my friends everywhere Is Jesus your salvation and strength, or just a song? Many singers sing with plenty of art but a lack of heart. Their songs lack the presence of our Lord Jesus. Isaiah 12:2 encourages singers to remember the Lord Jesus when they sing their songs saying Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation. Not just a song, but a Saviour and a song.

After Jesus lifted us out of the miry clay and put our feet on the Rock Jesus, then he also put a song in our mouth. Psalm 40:2 says He (Jesus) brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. This scripture says to sing about how the Lord Jesus saved our lives to be effective witnesses and save souls for our Lord Jesus. Remember, not just a song, but a Saviour and a song.

For our last thought today we see Joshua pictured above wondering if the Lord Jesus had any more blessings for him during his old age. Joshua 13:1 says Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord Jesus said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.

God didn't tell Joshua to throw in the towel but encouraged him that there was more blessings beyond. God didn't say ne plus ultra (no more beyond) that was a warning on the pillars of Hercules to sailors and mariners to not sail from Spain or Portugal to America. Christopher Columbus ignored ne plus ultra and sailed from Portugal and Spain to discover the more beyond called America. Because Columbus left behind him the gray Azores (mountains of Portugal) and the gates of Hercules, many Americans today are living on the more beyond today.

And saints everywhere, there lies many more blessings beyond for us all in new heavens, a new earth, and the kingdom of God. Let's all be like Christopher Columbus and ignore the ne plus ultra on the gates of Hercules while we all say On, Sail On, Sail On to our blessings beyond in the new heavens, new earth, and in the kingdom of God. Be encouraged because God says at Isaiah 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. 2 Peter 3:13 says Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Seven Blessings Experienced During The Presence Of Our Lord Jesus

Let's learn the seven blessings that occur during the presence of our Lord Jesus. You might want to write these seven blessings down. They are a searching presence to convict, a saving presence to convert, a separating presence to consecrate, a settling presence to calm, a supplying presence to comfort, a satisfying presence to celebrate, and a sanctifying presence causing humility.

A Searching Presence To Convict

John 16:8 says And when He (Jesus) is come, He will reprove (convict) the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. The Lord Jesus searches and sees everything. Proverbs 15:3 says The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. Luke 12:2 says For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Hebrews 4:13 says Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.

We can't hide our sins from Jesus.

If Jesus sees everything, let's repent and turn from our sins to live with Jesus daily. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. Every day say I am crucified with Jesus Christ and covered by the blood of Jesus, rejoicing that the blood of Jesus has cleansed and removed your sins forevermore. 1 John 1:7 says But if we walk in the light (Jesus), as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.

A Saving Presence To Convert

Pictured above the Samaritan woman at the well was converted and saved by the presence of our Lord Jesus. Note that when Jesus reproved this prostitute for being with five men and committing fornication with a sixth man, the Samaritan woman repented and got saved by confessing that Jesus is God to the men she had slept with. This woman rejoiced, leaving her waterpot saying she didn't need water from Jacob's well because she found the living water Jesus. This prostitute's testimony to hundreds of men led them to the Lord Jesus and salvation. The Samaritan woman told the men at John 4:29 Come see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ? Then they went out of the city, and came unto Him.

Jesus went to sinners and not self righteous religious folk to offer salvation. Jesus said at Luke 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Jesus visited the home of a tax collector named Zacchaeus. The saving presence of Jesus converted and saved Zacchaeus, who repented and gave half of his goods to the poor and restored fourfold anything stolen from his customers. Zacchaeus said at Luke 19:8 Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. Finally the saving presence of Jesus converted Saul of Tarsus on the road to Damascus who got saved and became a great gospel preacher named Paul.

A Separating Presence To Consecrate

Psalm 31:20 explains how the presence of the Lord Jesus separates christians unto consecration saying Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of men: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion (tabernacle) from the strife of tongues. Isaiah 32:2 says And a man (Jesus) shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land. After anyone is in the presence of our Lord Jesus, they will consecrate and separate themselves unto holiness. They will no longer be found in the bars sipping the suds or at the casino rolling the dice and gambling.

A Settling Presence To Calm

The Lord Jesus said at Exodus 33:14 My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. Pictured above the settling presence of the Lord Jesus on a ship calmed a great storm. Mark 4:39 says And He (Jesus) arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And He said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?

A Supplying Presence To Comfort

Acts 3:19 says Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. The Lord Jesus truly is refreshing. Proverbs 3:5 says Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to your navel (calm your nerves), and marrow to thy bones (like a refreshing cup of cold water to a thirsty soul).

A Satisfying Presence To Celebrate

Psalm 16:11 says Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. 1 Peter 1:8 says Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.

A Sanctifying Presence Causing Humility

1 Chronicles 16:29 says Give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name: bring an offering, and come before Him: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. 1 Corinthians 1:26 says For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in His presence (the sanctifying presence of Jesus causes humility). That according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

Notice Pontius Pilate pictured above releasing and setting free Barabbas instead of our Lord Jesus. Pilate asked the chief priests and elders at Matthew 27:21 Whether of the twain (Jesus or Barabbas) will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas. Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let Him be crucified.

Before Barabbas appeared before the people to be released, Barabbas was sitting in a jail 200 yards away from Pilate's judgment seat. Barabbas could hear everything the crowd said but could not hear Pilate. All Barabbas heard was the crowd saying Barabbas let him be crucified; Barabbas let him be crucified.

Think how Barabbas felt when the guards came to him at the jail. Barabbas thought the guards are coming to crucify me. But to Barabbas' surprise, the guards said Barabbas you're a free man because a man named Jesus is going to die in your place. The robber was released instead of the Redeemer. The murderer was released instead of the Master. The criminal was released instead of Christ. The seditionist was released instead of the Sovereign God. And like Barabbas, christians have been released and set free because Jesus died for their sins on the cross of Calvary.

I pray in Jesus name that this bible study blesses multitudes everywhere with great joy, peace, and strength. Seven Reasons Why Jesus Left Heaven To Come To This Earth

Today we will learn the seven reasons why Jesus left heaven to come to this earth. The seven reasons why Jesus left heaven and came to this earth are to give us life, division, light, judgment, rest, fire, and finally to seek and to save that which was lost. Praise the Lord Jesus now while you read how Jesus became poor so we could become rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9 says For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich.

Jesus left the glory of heaven and came down to a barn in Bethlehem. Jesus left the presence of angels to come down to the presence of sinners. Jesus left the continuous praises of all the host of heaven and came down to this earth to hear the curses of men. Jesus left all the beauty of heaven to come down to all of the ugliness of this world and die for sinners on a wretched cross.

Why would Jesus leave the glory of heaven and come down to this wicked world? First, pictured above we learn that Jesus came to this earth to give sinners abundant life. Jesus said at John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. 1 John 5:11 says And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. Right now say thank you Lord Jesus for leaving heaven to come to earth and give me abundant life.

Second, Jesus came to this earth to cause division. Jesus said at Luke 12:51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on the earth? I tell you, Nay, but rather division. Jesus came to inaugurate a warfare against the forces of evil. 2 Corinthians 10:3 says For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Jesus said at Matthew 12:30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

Jesus has already defeated the devil at the cross of Calvary. The devil just tries to make people think there is a game to play and runs out on the field wearing his playing gear. Just tell the devil to look at the scoreboard saying game over devil you've lost. There is no game to play. My Lord Jesus defeated you forever by the blood of Jesus shed at the cross of Calvary. Tell the devil Hebrews 2:14 that says Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He (the Lord Jesus) also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death (on the cross of Calvary) He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.

Third, pictured above we see that Jesus came to this earth to bring light. Jesus said at John 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. Jesus proclaimed at John 8:12 I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

How comforting to know that when we get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and rose again, we walk in the light overcoming the depressing darkness of this world. Every day say I am crucified with Jesus Christ and covered by the blood of Jesus. Tell the devil that the blood of Jesus has overcome and defeated you devil, evil must pass over me, and the blood of Jesus has cleansed me of all my sins.

Daily ask Jesus to send multitudes of angels to bind the devil wherever you go, sending the devil to the pit of hell where the devil can not rise up again according to Psalm 140:9. As for the head of those that compass me about (the devil), let the mischief of their own lips cover them. Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits (of hell), that they rise not up again.

Then in Jesus name ask the angels to daily send and cover your home, job, car, and anywhere you travel with the blood of Jesus. Revelation 12:11 says And they overcame him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb (Jesus), and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Fourth, we learn that Jesus came to this earth to bring judgment. Jesus said at John 9:39 For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. Psalm 138:6 says Though the Lord be high, yet hath He respect unto the lowly; but the proud He knoweth afar off. Stay humble and like John the Baptist say John 3:30. He (Jesus) must increase, but I must decrease. Paul said at 1 Corinthians 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

Fifth, Jesus came to this earth to give sinners rest. Jesus said at Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Why not come to Jesus now today and receive rest? Leave your sins because Proverbs 13:15 says Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard. Remember that Jesus said His yoke is easy, and His burden is light. Jesus promised at John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Sixth, Jesus came to this earth to send fire. Jesus said at Luke 12:49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? How comforting to know that one day soon Jesus will cast the devil into the lake of fire where the devil will be tormented day and night for ever and ever according to Revelation 20:10. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Seventh, the most important reason that Jesus came to this earth was to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:10 says For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Above is one of Brother Bob's favorite pictures showing Jesus (the great shepherd) coming to this earth seeking to save any lost sheep.

Luke 15:4 describes the blessed picture above saying What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbors, saying unto them, Rejoice with  me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

The main reason Jesus came to this earth was to find you my precious sinner friend and save you. Luke 15 tells us why Jesus left heaven to come to this earth. Jesus came to this earth seeking for lost sinners where a woman seeks for a lost coin, where a shepherd seeks for a lost sheep, and where a father seeks for a lost son.

Notice the happy jingle pictured above at Isaiah 1:18. Come (invitation) now (specification), and let us reason together (conversation), saith the Lord (declaration): though your sins be as scarlet (realization), they shall be as white as snow (purification); though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool (transformation).

I had to add this classic gem from one of my favorite preachers J. Harold Smith. Don't be a tweedle dee, tweedle dum, pussy footing, compromising, white washing, backscratching, ear tickling, soft soaping, tiptoeing through the tulips. lovey dovey, feel good type of preacher, failing to tell people to get saved and stop sinning.

Receive The Blessings Of Jesus Today
Get Saved, Repent, Decide To Stop Sinning,
Confess That Jesus Is God, And Believe The Gospel
That Jesus Died On The Cross For You, Was Buried, And Rose Again

Yet More Blessed Biblical Rhymes

Pictured above we see a flat top aircraft carrier that will teach us about accepting the Lord Jesus today without any delay. Flat top aircraft carriers are big boats that airplanes land on. When a jet airplane lands on one of these boats, the pilot has to hit the edge of the boat and use all the runway to get stopped. There are seven tension wires that catch incoming planes and stop them from going over into the ocean.

Now if a pilot catches his plane on the first tension wire at the edge of the boat, the plane will be stopped by this wire and go E, EE, EEE, EEEE, EEEEE and stop safely on the runway. But if the pilot misses the first two tension wires and catches the third tension wire down the runway, the plane goes E, E, E, and goes over into the ocean. These pilots know that they can use the runway in front of them, but they can't use the runway behind them when landing on these flat tops. These pilots also know that they need to start putting on the brakes back yonder instead of down yonder.

Neighbor reading this anywhere like pilots landing on flat tops, we all need to remember that we can only use what's in front of us and no longer use what's behind us. Be like a successful pilot landing on a flat top and put the brakes on sin early in your life to avoid a wasted life. Don't start stopping to sin down yonder when you should have started stopping back yonder.

Put the brakes on drugs, alcohol, and fornication. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. Repent and turn from your sins to live every day for our Lord Jesus. Get saved at an early age and avoid the regret of a wasted life by putting the brakes on sin too late. Remember, you can use the runway in front of you, but you can no longer use the runway behind you. Ecclesiastes 12:1 says Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them.

2 Corinthians 6:2 says For He (Jesus) saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. Friends turn to Jesus now because sin shortens lives. Proverbs 10:27 says The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened. Remember, drugs, alcohol, and fornication remove years from a person's life. But the good news is that if a person gets saved saying I am crucified with Jesus Christ, the blood of Jesus will wash away all sin, and their days will be prolonged with peace.

For our next biblical rhyme, let's talk about the two pictures of sparrows above. Matthew 10:29 speaks about the first picture saying Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. Luke 12:6 speaks about the second picture saying Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Now notice that two sparrows are sold for a farthing and five sparrows are sold for two farthings. If you pay two farthings, you get a bargain. You get an extra odd bird; an inconspicuous and unimportant extra fifth sparrow. The person purchasing this extra odd bird might overlook and not care for this fifth little sparrow. But God won't forget this fifth little sparrow and be with him each time he lands on the ground.

Now if God cares about little sparrows, God cares about you friend reading this. His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me. How comforting to know that God notices little sparrows and the number of the very hairs on our heads. The smallest detail never escapes God's notice. Like sparrows, God remembers and cares about you friend reading this anywhere. Isaiah 49:15 tells us Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

Neighbor anywhere you are important to Jesus like sparrows and Philippians 4:19 says But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Also the Lord Jesus promises saints everywhere to be kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time at 1 Peter 1:5. Hallelujah, Jesus takes care of the little fifth inconspicuous sparrow and all His precious saints.

Alright, for my last blessed biblical rhyme today we see pictured above four wives named Ethel, Jane, Martha, and Mary earnestly watching for their husbands to return from a day of fishing on boats. But a fifth wife named Bertha stayed at home, waiting for her husband to return.

Now when the five husbands returned to the shore on their boat after fishing all day, Henry said I see Ethel, Billy said I see Jane, Jimmy said I see Martha, Jerry said I see Mary, but Clyde said Where's Bertha, I don't see her anywhere. When Clyde got home, he asked Bertha, Why didn't you watch for me on the shore? Bertha replied, Clyde I was waiting for you all day at home. Clyde responded to Bertha and said You were waiting, but you were not watching for me.

Many of us today are like the bride Bertha just waiting and not watching for the bridegroom Jesus to return and catch us up in the clouds to be with the Lord Jesus forever. Neighbor, we all have to wait for Jesus' return, but how about watching for Jesus' return with earnest expectation. Romans 8:19 says For the earnest expectation (persistent watching) of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

Friends everywhere, let's not just wait for Jesus; Let's earnestly watch and abide daily with Jesus, denying sin and this fading world constantly. 1 John 2:28 says And now, little children, abide in Him (Jesus); that when He shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. Jesus said at John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

To end up today's lesson, I give you all a parable encouraging you to live constantly for the Lord Jesus. Here it is: Three frogs were sitting on lily pads in the middle of a pond; One decided to jump; How many frogs does this leave? The answer is three because the one frog decided to but did not jump. This is the way a lot of people are today; They have decided that sometime in the future they will live for Jesus and refuse to make Jesus the Lord of their life today. Let's all be witnesses and tell people to get saved today, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for them, was buried, and rose again. Alright here's other blessed saying: Get vertically right with God and then you'll be horizontally right with everyone.

I pray in Jesus name that this bible study blesses multitudes everywhere with great joy, peace, and strength. Some More Blessed Biblical Rhymes

Friends, today it's time for some more blessed biblical rhymes. Pictured above we see that Joshua met the captain general of the host of angels named the Lord Jesus promising victory over the enemy at Jericho. Hebrews 2:10 proclaims that Jesus is the captain that Joshua met saying For it became Him (Jesus) for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Joshua 5:13 says And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? (Note that the Lord Jesus who is the captain told Joshua son I didn't come to take sides, I came to take over where Joshua worshipped the Lord Jesus). (Now look at Jesus' response to Joshua at Joshua 5:14) And He said, Nay; but as captain (general of the army angels of God) of the host (angels) of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto Him, What saith my Lord unto his servant? (Note again that first the man Jesus appeared to Joshua but later Joshua proclaimed that this captain is the Lord Jesus when Joshua worshipped the Lord Jesus).

Jesus is a man, prophet, teacher, Son of God, and Jesus also is God. Believe this mystery by faith with your heart and get saved; Don't try to reason this mystery with your mind. Get saved today and repent, decide to stop sinning,, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

Joshua was facing three things when he prepared to fight the enemy surrounded by the high walls of Jericho. Joshua was facing a heritage to be received (the promised land), a hindrance to be removed (the enemy behind the high walls of Jericho), and finally a helper to be recognized (the Lord Jesus who is the captain of the army of angels who would remove the walls of Jericho and destroy the enemies).

Like Joshua, we also have a heritage to be received, a hindrance to be removed, and a helper to be recognized. I pray in Jesus name that my friends everywhere can remember their helper to be recognized who is the Lord Jesus (the unseen captain) that will overcome any obstacle in their paths. Friends today realize that Jesus and the blood of Jesus will overcome any obstacle in your path. Revelation 12:11 proclaims that the blood of Jesus has overcome the devil where evil must pass over you. Tell the devil daily I am crucified with Jesus Christ and covered by the blood of Jesus that has defeated you devil.

Instead of groaning about your adversaries like Joshua, let us all glory in our allies who are Jesus and his mighty army of angels that will always give victory to all saints. 2 Corinthians 2:14 promises Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of His knowledge by us in every place. Also, 1 Corinthians 15:57 promises But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Another example pictured above in the bible where there was a heritage to be received, a hindrance to be removed, and a helper to be recognized occurred when Elisha's servant Gehazi recognized that the angels in chariots of fire were more in number than the Syrian enemies. 2 Kings 6 tells us that Elisha knew all the plans of the king of Syria. When the King of Syria learned about Elisha, he said I've got to silence that little prophet and send an army to find Elisha and his servant Gehazi.

Then one morning, when Elisha's servant Gehazi looked out of his window, he saw soldiers to the right of him, soldiers to the left of him, here a soldier, there a soldier, and everywhere a soldier. Gehazi ran to Elisha and said we're surrounded by the Syrian army that is coming to get us. Gehazi forgot about his heritage to be received and began looking at his hindrance to be removed. But Elisha was looking at the helper to be recognized (the Lord Jesus and his chariots with His host of angels that outnumbered the Syrian enemies). Psalm 68:17 proclaims the chariots of God are twenty thousand (myriad innumerable, and infinite chariots with angels), even thousands of angels; the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.

Elisha responded to Gehazi at 2 Kings 6:16 Fear not; for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. Then after Elisha prayed for Gehazi saying Lord, I pray thee open his eyes, that he may see, Gehazi looked and saw angels to the right of him, angels to the left of him, here an angel, there an angel, everywhere an angel because the angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. Also Gehazi remembered Psalm 91:11 that says For He (Jesus) shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Lord Jesus let everyone reading this remember that their helper to be recognized (the Lord Jesus and His angels) is greater than any hindrance to be removed while we all travel to our heritage to be received. Every day let's all pray that Jesus will send his angels around us to bind the devil and send all evil spirits to the pit of hell. Psalm 140:9 promises that when evil spirits are sent by faith through angels to deep pits, they will not rise up again. As for the head of those that compass me about (the devils that surround us), let the mischief of their own lips cover them. Let burning coals fall upon them; let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.

For our next blessed biblical rhyme today let's look at the above picture of the prophet Amos telling King Jeroboam and his false priest Amaziah that it was wrong for them to worship golden calves in Bethel and Dan and not allow the people to travel to Jerusalem to worship the Lord. Jeroboam was the king over ten tribes in northern Israel and wanted to control his people by offering worship at Bethel and Dan in northern Israel, instead of at the nations of Judah and Benjamin where God required worship that was in southern Israel at Jerusalem ruled by King Rehoboam.

Open your bibles to Amos 7:10 and read how the false priest Amaziah spoke against the prophet Amos for rebuking King Jeroboam's worship at Bethel and Dan. The text reads Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words. For thus Amos saith, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of their own land. Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there: But prophesy not again any more at Bethel: for it is the king's chapel, and it is the king's court.

Amos responded to Amaziah at Amos 7:14: Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit: And the Lord took me as I followed the flock, and the Lord said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel. Now therefore hear thou the word of the Lord: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not thy word against the house of Isaac. Therefore thus saith the Lord; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.

Now note that Amos was not invited by Amaziah's ministerial committee to preach at Bethel or Dan. Dr. Amaziah told Amos you are not qualified or have the credentials to preach at Bethel; stop preaching and go back to gathering sycomore fruit on your farm. Amos responded and said Amaziah I'm not a prophet by profession or by parentage, I'm a prophet by providence. And I didn't come to Bethel to make the gospel acceptable, I came to make the gospel available. It's not my business that you like the gospel; it's my business that you get the gospel.

Like Amos, Brother Bob has been told many times that he was not qualified or had the credentials to be a preacher in Ohio. One person told me, I won't come to hear you preach until you get a DD doctor of divinity. I told that brother I have my DD, I'm a devil disturber. Then another person said you need a BA and PHD before you can preach. I told them that I had my BA, I'm born again, and that I have my PHD, I have a pentacostal hairdo. Finally another brother said I won't come to hear you preach until you become a doctor qualified to preach. I told that brother, I'm not a doctor, I'm an orderly that cleans up the messes that false preachers make.

CLASSIC BIBLICAL RHYMES

Listed below some of Brother Bob's favorite classical biblical rhymes to help my friends everywhere meditate on the blessed Word of God.

1) Don't say Look what I've done, Jesus won't forgive me. Say Look what He's done, and what I couldn't do. My sins are forgiven. I'm washed white as snow by the precious blood of Jesus. Isaiah 1:18 promises Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

2) When God says Go and we say No, the next word is Woe.
But when God says Go and we Go, the next word is Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.

3) Say this to people who believe the false doctrine of evolution thinking man came from tadpoles, bullfrogs, monkeys, apes, and baboons. Tell them first there was a tadpole with his tail long and slim, then there was a bullfrog with his tail tucked in, then there was a baboon swinging by his tail from a banyan tree, and then there was a Dr. with a PHD. Now neighbor doesn't that sound wrong. John 1:1 tells us the truth saying In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. And Colossians 1:16 says For by Him (Jesus) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities; or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.

4) How do catholics make holy water?
They boil the hell out of it.

5) Why was Noah the first banker?
He floated his stock while the whole world was in liquidation.
What did Noah say to his two sons when they were fishing on the ark?
Go easy on the bait boys, we only have two worms.
What money was on Noah's ark?
The skunk brought in a scent, the frog brought in a green back, the duck brought in a bill, and the doe brought in a buck.

6) 1 Cross+3 Nails=4 Given.

7) Jesus was born so we could be reborn; Jesus died so we could live; Jesus came down so we could go up; Jesus suffered so we could have peace; Jesus had no where to live on earth so we could live in mansions in heaven.

8) Too many people are expanding their physical waistlines instead of extending their spiritual coastlines.

9) Solve this riddle: The poor have it; the rich don't need it; and it's greater than God. The answer is Nothing. The poor have nothing; the rich don't need nothing, and nothing is greater than God.

10) What do you call a seven foot man walking down the street blowing a flute?
He's highfalutin.

11) Alright my last one for you all to think about today: Ecclesisates 7:6 For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fool: this also is vanity.
A fool's laughter makes a lot of noise but it doesn't last long.
