Billy Bray's Incredible Testimony

How An Uneducated Drunk Named Billy Bray
Got Saved For Jesus

Billy Bray was born in Cornwall England in 1794. When Billy became seventeen he embarked upon a life of drunkenness, fighting, theft, and many other sins narrowly escaping imprisonment and death. His wife Joanna also lived a sinful life. They both had reputations as the most wicked and evil people alive in England. One day a christian friend working by Billy in a coal mine gave Billy a book by John Bunyan titled Visions Of Heaven And Hell.

In 1823 after reading the book Visions Of Heaven And Hell, Billy decided to live a better life and learn about our Lord Jesus. Billy took his bible and hymn book, went upstairs, and spent the entire day in reading and prayer. After days and nights of seeking Jesus in prayer, Billy Bray got gloriously saved and became a new man altogether. The next day Billy's wife Joanna also got gloriously saved. Like Billy and Joanna Bray, you also can experience salvation and joy with Jesus. Get saved right now; Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again.

After Salvation Everyone Called Billy Bray God's Man With A Shout
Anytime You Saw Billy Bray He Was Smiling, Singing, And Shouting For Jesus

After Billy Bray got saved, Billy said I cannot express what I felt; I shouted for joy; Everything looked new to me; The people, the fields, the cattle, the trees; I was like a man in a new world. Wherever Billy preached or traveled, Billy would shout, leap, and dance for Jesus. People would tell Billy, there's no need to leap, dance, and make a lot of noise for Jesus. God's not deaf and God knows your heart.

Billy replied the devil's not deaf either and his sinners also make a lot of noise. Therefore I'm always gonna shout praises to Jesus everywhere. I shouted for the devil and I'm gonna shout louder for Jesus. Like Billy Bray, people have told Brother Bob you talk too much about Jesus. Brother Bob replies Correction I need to talk more about Jesus and thanks for the compliment while I leap for joy for everyone to see.

Billy Bray Would Tell Everyone This Blessed Quote

Jesus has made me glad and no one can make me sad
Jesus makes me shout and no one can make me doubt
Jesus makes me dance and leap and there's no one that can keep down my feet

Whenever you met Billy Bray, Billy was dancing, leaping, and shouting praises to Jesus. Whenever Billy Bray heard that anyone got saved for Jesus, Billy would shout Glory. Then Billy would pick up the saved person and leap with them for joy spinning and twirling for Jesus all around the room. One of Billy's favorite bible verses that made him always rejoice was Isaiah 12:1 that says And in that day, thou shalt say, O Lord, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.

Blessed Testimonies About Billy Bray
1) The Story About The Bridge Billy Bray Walked On

Billy Bray told everyone wherever I walk, when I lift up one foot it seems to say Glory To God and when I lift up the other foot it seems to say Praise The Lord and they keep on like that all the time I am walking. Therefore, whenever you saw Billy Bray walking, he was always saying Glory To God Praise The Lord. One night Billy was walking across a stone bridge saying Glory To God Praise The Lord.

His friends decided to play a joke on Billy while hiding under the bridge. When the friends heard Billy walking on the bridge praising Jesus, they yelled through a bullhorn Billy this is the devil I'm right under the bridge. And without missing a step, Billy said Bless God I didn't know you were that far away Glory To God Praise The Lord. We all need to be like Billy Bray and in everything give thanks. Don't ever let the devil steal your joy. Always keep praising Jesus and say Psalm 113:3 From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, the Lord's name is to be praised. Then proclaim Psalm 51:15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.

Like Billy Bray Let Your Life Always Display The Following Three Sayings

Rejoice evermore
In everything give thanks
Pray without ceasing

Blessed Testimonies About Billy Bray
2) The Story About The Empty Potato Barrel

In everything and through everything Billy Bray always kept praising the Lord Jesus. One day after Billy Bray ran out of potatos, when he stuck his head into an empty potato barrel, Billy yelled Glory To God an empty potato barrel. And one minute later, a truck stopped by in front of Billy's home where a friend said Billy, Jesus told me to give you a bushel of potatos.

Blessed Testimonies About Billy Bray
3) The Story About A Dress For Joanna Bray In A Basket

One day Billy Bray bought a dress for his wife Joanna Bray and put it in a basket to carry home. While dancing happily and praising Jesus on his way home, Billy did not see the dress come out of the basket. When Billy got home his wife told him that the dress you bought me is not in the basket. Billy joyfully replied Glory to God I danced the dress out of the basket.

The next day Billy Bray told his church that he danced a dress out of a basket. The church took up an offering and gave Billy another dress for his wife. But then two days later, someone found Billy's lost dress and gave it to Billy. Billy rejoiced and told everyone Glory to God I got two dresses for one.

4) The Story of How Billy Bray Used All His Money To Help A Farmer Buy A Cow

Billy Bray once found two little orphan children ( a boy and a girl) whose mother had died and whose father had run away. Billy added them to his own four children and he and Joanna brought them up in their own family till they could earn their own living. One day the little orphan girl got sick and Billy needed to take money to the doctor to get medicine for the little orphan girl.

Billy only had 37 cents to pay the doctor for the medicine. This would be like 37 dollars today in American money. On the way to the doctor's office, Billy heard a man crying behind a hedge who was a farmer. The poor farmer was crying because one of his cows died. Billy gave that farmer the 37 cents to buy a new cow.

And after Billy gave the 37 cents to the farmer, Billy said there's no sense now to visit the doctor. Well Glory To God Praise The Lord; I'll just jump over the hedge, go back home, and trust Jesus to heal my little orphan daughter. And when Billy got back home, the little orphan girl was totally healed. Billy was always giving away money trusting that Jesus promised give and it will be given to me good measure pressed down shaken together and running over will men give to my bosom. People said Billy Bray could not keep two hats two days if he knew a brother in Jesus in want of one.

Blessed Testimonies About Billy Bray
5) The Story Of How Billy Bray Used All His Money To Build A Church
And Kept Praising Jesus After His Wife Joanna Died

One day the doctor told Billy and Joanna Bray that their little orphan boy had an incurable disease. Billy saved up a little money to prepare for the burial and funeral for this little orphan boy. Then one Sunday at church, the members needed more money to build the church pictured above. Billy Bray decided to give away all the money he saved for the little orphan boy to help build this church. Eventually, the little orphan boy got miraculously healed, grew up, got married, and had 10 children.

Billy Bray always praised Jesus and never let any trouble steal his joy. When Billy's wife Joanna died, Billy was leaping for joy on his furniture and all around his house. Everyone thought Billy had lost his mind. But Billy told everyone O Glory To God; Isn't it wonderful; Isn't it wonderful; Just think my wife's gone home to be with the angels. My dear wife has gone up with the bright ones. She's escaped earth's toils and sufferings to rest in the bliss of heaven.

Like Billy Bray We Need To Learn To Always Praise God
Through Everything With A Sacrifice Of Thanksgiving

Billy Bray Gave Jesus A Sacrifice Of Thanksgiving Saying
The kid's sick-OK Praise God
The kid's dying-OK Praise God
The wife's dead-OK Praise God
Billy Bray didn't let anything stop him from praising Jesus
because the joy of the Lord is our strength

Like Billy Bray in everything (not for everything) give thanks and always keep praising Jesus with a sacrifice of thanksgiving. My friend Brother Carl used to say even when you don't feel like praising Jesus, praise Jesus anyway and wave your hands at Jesus. Hebrews 13:15 tells us By Him (Jesus) therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name. And Psalm 116:17 says I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.

Blessed Testimonies About Billy Bray
6) The Story About A Candelabra And How To Pray

Someone once asked Billy Bray How long should we pray at a time to stay healthy
Billy pointed to a candelabra that needed polishing and said
If you give it a rub every 5 minutes you'll keep it bright
But if you don't rub it a long time, it'll take a long rub to get it bright again

Blessed Testimonies About Billy Bray
7) The Story About The Day Billy Bray Died Rejoicing To Be With Jesus

Till the age of 73, Billy Bray danced, leaped, and shouted his way through each day praising our Lord Jesus. He told the doctor on his death bed, when I get to heaven doctor can I give everyone there your compliments and tell them that you'll be coming to peaceful heaven soon. At the time the doctor was not saved but years later this doctor got saved because of Billy's witness on his death bed. And Billy Bray's final word was Glory when he died on May 25, 1868.

Blessed Testimonies About Billy Bray
8) Billy Bray's Favorite Scriptures About Why We Should Always Praise Jesus

Billy Bray told everyone the following scriptures about why he always praised Jesus with a loud joyful shout. Billy said every time I seek the Lord I get happy because 1 Chronicles 16:10 says Glory ye in His holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord. And Billy said that I always rejoice in Jesus because Psalm 30:11 says Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

Then Billy Bray told everyone that I'll keep leaping joyfully everywhere for Jesus because Jeremiah 31:13 says Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and I will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow. And Isaiah 61:3 tells us To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He might be glorified.

When Billy Bray would shout praises everywhere, people would say Billy you're a mad man. Billy would reply I'm a glad man and Glory To God Praise The Lord I'm a glad man forevermore because Psalm 40:2 says He (Jesus) brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

Billy Bray said I want to be like Pastor Edward Payson who said If men only knew the honour and glory that awaited them in Jesus, they would go about the streets shouting I am a christian saved by Jesus that men might rejoice with them in the blessedness of which they were soon to partake. Billy Bray told everyone even though I don't see Jesus, I always rejoice and praise Jesus because 1 Peter 1:8 says Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory. And Philippians 4:4 tells us Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say rejoice. And remember James 1:2 tells us My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations.

Below Are The Words Of Billy Brays Favorite Hymn About Glory
Hark How the Heralds Of The Lord
Sing The Words And Receive Strength, Peace, And Joy

Hark how the heralds of the Lord
To endless joys invite us
Proclaim the everlasting Word
That to our God unites us
They cry to all the world to come
Your Saviour's gone before you
Return ye ransomed sinners home
To glory, glory, glory

Gross darkness flies before the sun
Back to the pit retiring
To us the glorious light is come
With hope our souls inspiring
Mercy and grace for all our race
Through Jesus is the story
There we may see Him face to face
In glory, glory, glory

Numbers increase from day to day
In Jesus' cause uniting
Sorrow and darkness flee away
His love their hearts delighting
Ethiopian lands stretch out their hands
Hearing the pleasant story
And thousands march from distant lands
To glory, glory, glory

Lepers are cleansed, the dead are raised
The lame now walk before Him
The dumb are taught to sing His praise
The blind see and adore Him
The rich, the poor, the young, the old
The infant, and the hoary
They all through Christ their crown insure
In glory, glory, glory

Then let us rally around the cross
Despising worldly pleasure
And gladly reckon all things loss
For Christ our hidden treasure
Rejoice and sing, The Lord is King
And we'll repeat the story
We'll make the heavenly mansions ring
With songs of glory, glory

Four Proofs Of Salvation

Four Proofs Of Salvation
1) Denial Of Self With Daily Humility

The first proof of salvation occurs when people realize that their worst enemy outside of the devil is themself. DL Moody said "I've never met a man that gave me more trouble than myself." Tell yourself every day when you look in the mirror "Now what are you up to today." Daily deny your self with the Word, prayer, and church. When anyone daily reads (memorizes) the Word of God, prays, and attends their local church, it will help them stop sinning. On the other hand, if anyone does not read the Word, pray, or go to church, they will sin. We must daily try to stop sinning because Romans 6:23 says For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Remember sin is not worth it. The quick thrill and pleasure of sin always ends in misery and death. So we all need to stay with Jesus and the Word of God that offers peace, health, and joy forevermore.

Now most people forget Jesus and try by their own good works to get saved with peace. Romans 10:3 says For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. You see we have to humble ourselves and not boast about our good works. Instead we need to boast about how faith in Jesus can save people.

1 Corinthians 1:31 says That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. And Titus 3:5 says Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He (Jesus) saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. 2 Timothy 1:9 says Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

A Story About A Father Riding A Mule
Who Needed To Learn Humilty

One day two boys asked their father to teach them how to ride a stubborn mule like the one pictured above on a farm by Brother Bob. After one minute, the mule kicked the father off. The father was not humble and said boys that's how you ride a mule; You jump off right before the mule kicks you. But daddy needs to humble himself and admit he got kicked off and can't ride a mule.

Another Story About A Man Who Talked To Himself
Who Needed To Learn Humility

One day a man was talking to himself
Another man asked him why do you talk to yourself
The proud man replied I like to hear a smart man talk
And I enjoy talking to a smart man

Unlike the two proud men who had no humility, let's obey the bible and humble ourselves and allow Jesus to shine everywhere we travel. James 4:10 says Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up. Luke 14:11 says For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. And Jesus said at Luke 9:23 If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. Let's be like John the Baptist who said at John 3:30 He (Jesus) must increase, but I must decrease.

Remember avoid pride (thinking you are better than everyone because of your education, race, or background). Instead humble yourself and love the unloveable, bless all people from all races, and always forgive and be kind to everyone. Proverbs 16:18 warns us Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Remember this motto for success in life. Avoid angry people, forgive forever. Don't be bitter or hold a grudge. Hebrews 12:15 says Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled. Avoid bitterness that creates trouble for everyone.

Four Proofs Of Salvation
2) Love Not The World

The second proof of salvation occurs when people realize that the world is their enemy while they walk with Jesus. James 4:4 says Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. And 1 John 2:15 says Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

The bible says that we are strangers and pilgrims on this earth looking for a better home with Jesus in heaven. 1 Peter 2:11 says Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul. Don't get attached to this world. It's impossible to find everlasting joy in anything down here on this earth. This is because everlasting joy is up there in heavenly places with Jesus. And one day soon according to Ephesians 2:6 Jesus is going to raise us (the saved saints) up together and have us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus with eternal peace.

The reason Jesus made the world your enemy is because God wants you to get your eyes off this world and focus on Jesus and the better things of heaven. Jesus told us at John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. And Colossians 3:1 says If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Jesus Is Better Than This World Because Jesus Offers

Complete pardon for the worst sins on this earth
Sweetest comfort for the direst agony
The brightest hope for the darkest death
The grandest resurrection for the most corruptible type of depravity

Don't be fooled and think that the religions of this world can save you. Only faith in Jesus without religious tradition can save anyone. The church is only a messenger of salvation and not the giver of salvation. It's not the blood of Jesus plus water, it's not the blood of Jesus plus wafers, and it's not the the blood of Jesus plus works that saves; It's the blood of Jesus plus nothing that saves. Psalm 39:5 says Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state (by religion) is altogether vanity. Trust Jesus and go to heaven. Trust anything else and go to hell. Jesus said at John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If you're saved, you'll swim upstream against the wicked downstream popular views of this fading world.

Religion Is What A Man Does To Save Himself
Salvation Is What God Gives A Sinner Who Trusts Jesus For Salvation
Quit Trying And Start Trusting Jesus To Save You

Four Proofs Of Salvation
3) Realizing You Owed God A Debt That You Could Not Pay

The third proof of salvation occurs when people realize that they owed God a debt that they could not pay. Jesus paid His own blood (the redemption price) to free saved saints from their debt of sin. 1 Peter 1:18 says Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition  from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a Lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you.

He (Jesus) Paid A Debt He Did Not Owe; I Owed A Debt I Could Not Pay
I Needed Someone To Wash My Sins Away
Sing  He Paid A Debt He Did Not Owe; It Will Heal And Give You Strength

Jesus Paid It All; All To Him I Owe
Sin Had Left A Crimson Stain; He Washed It White As Snow
Sing Jesus Paid It All; It Will Heal And Give You Strength

Every saved saint owes God a debt that they can not pay. If a person got saved and stopped sinning, that person would still owe a debt to Jesus for eliminating his past sins before salvation by the blood of Jesus. We are born sinners needing the blood of Jesus after salvation to cleanse us from our sins. David said at Psalm 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Psalm 58:3 says The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. This is why we all need to praise Jesus for shedding His precious blood to remove our sins. One day soon in heaven all the saved saints will forever praise Jesus for redeeming us from sin with His precious blood. Revelation 5:9 says And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.

Four Proofs Of Salvation
4) Rejoicing Through Persecution

The fourth proof of salvation occurs when saved saints rejoice through persecution. James 1:2 says My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations. Luke 6:22 says Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets. Be like Brother Bob and find the nearest Walmart bathroom and leap for joy when you are persecuted for Jesus.

To get strength through persecutions and sufferings for Jesus say 2 Corinthians 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. Also say Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Finally say Jeremiah 20:9 Then I said, I will not make mention of Him, nor speak any more in His name. But His Word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay. One time a pastor told Brother Bob "You talk too much about Jesus." Brother Bob replied while he leaped for joy "Correction, I need to talk more about Jesus and thanks for the compliment." Keep rejoicing through persecution.

I pray in Jesus name that this bible study blesses multitudes all over this earth with great joy, peace, and strength. Have You Counted The Cost

This Sermon Is Not About
What You Lose If You Accept Jesus Christ

This Sermon Is About
What You Lose If You Reject Jesus Christ
Have You Counted The Cost

This sermon is not about what you lose if you accept Jesus Christ. Most people think about what they'll lose if they accept Jesus Christ (gambling, drinking, and smoking weed at the bar, fornicating with many men and women, and cheating to gain money). Remember the pleasure of sin is only for a season with a momentary thrill that ends in misery and death. Romans 8:13 says For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. But the pleasures, joy, peace, strength, and health with Jesus are forevermore. Psalm 16:11 says Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence (Lord Jesus) is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Instead of worrying about what you will lose if you accept Jesus Christ, start thinking about what you will lose if you reject Jesus Christ. Have you counted the cost for rejecting the Lord Jesus Christ? People attend college 4 years for a career that lasts 50 years but they won't take 5 minutes to decide where they will spend eternity.  What anyone does with Jesus on this earth determines where they will be forever in eternity. Jesus said at John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Trust Jesus and go to heaven. Trust anything else and go to hell and the lake of fire. Get saved right now and escape hell and the lake of fire. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

What You Lose If You Reject Jesus Christ
Have You Counted The Cost
1) Peace Of Mind

First if anyone rejects Jesus Christ, they'll lose peace of mind. You can't purchase everlasting peace with money. Only Jesus can give anyone everlasting peace. Romans 5:1 says Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. And Jesus told us at John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. And finally Philippians 4:7 says And the peace of God (with Jesus), which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

What You Lose If You Reject Jesus Christ
Have You Counted The Cost
2) The Most Enduring Joy In This Life And Forever

Next if anyone rejects Jesus Christ, they'll lose the most enduring joy in this life and forever. Nehemiah 8:10 promises For the joy of the Lord (not the joy of this fading world) is your strength. In other words with Jesus and daily meditating on the Word (that is Jesus) we will have strength to overcome this troubled world. Be like Habakkuk and keep rejoicing with Jesus even though you are surrounded by trouble, Right now say the blessed words of Habakkuk 3:17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, and He will make my feet like hinds' feet, and He will make me to walk upon mine high places.

The joy of Jesus is enduring and lasts forever because Hebrews 13:8 promises Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Everything else (nature, your friends, and your family can change and leave you). But the joy of Jesus is enduring and everlasting. Hebrews 13:5 says Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He (Jesus) hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. How comforting to say Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

What You Lose If You Reject Jesus Christ
Have You Counted The Cost
3) The Only Real Future Hope That Anyone Can Have

Also if anyone rejects Jesus Christ, they'll lose the only real future hope that anyone can have. This future hope is called the blessed hope where all the saved saints will be caught up out of this troubled world to be with Jesus forever in peace. Titus 2:12 speaks about this blessed hope saying Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldy lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. After salvation with Jesus, we have a blessed hope that there will be a glorious appearing of our Lord Jesus in the air where all the saved saints will be caught up in the clouds out of this troubled world to be with Jesus.

One day 3 men saw the sign pictured above with Uncle Sam saying
I Want You For U.S. Army

The first man said I'll join the army because I want education
The second man said I'll join the army because I want travel
The third man said I'll join the army because I want adventure
Finally a fourth man said Forget that I want out

Brother Bob agrees with the fourth man
I want out of this troubled world
Even so come Lord Jesus

Only Jesus can give anyone a real future hope. You can't hope in man. Don't put your trust in people who will discourage you. 1 Peter 1:23 says Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the Word of the Lord (Jesus) endureth for ever. And this is the Word which by the gospel is preached unto you. Instead place your hope and trust in Jesus and the Word of God. Proverbs 3:5 says Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel (calm your nerves), and marrow to thy bones (refresh your body like a cup of cold water).

Brother Bob has never met anyone that regretted getting saved with Jesus. People always become better with Jesus after salvation. Think about Mark 8:36 before you reject Jesus that says For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? In other words if you had all the riches, silver, gold, and money of this world, it would be worthless and useless if you denied Jesus, lost your soul, and went to hell and the lake of fire. The biggest gamble anyone can make is to say that there is no hell.

What You Lose If You Reject Jesus Christ
Have You Counted The Cost
4) Eternal Life That Escapes The Wrath Of God

Finally, if anyone rejects Jesus Christ, they'll lose eternal life that escapes the wrath of God. John 3:36 says He that believeth on the Son (Jesus) hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son (Jesus) shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth (present tense) on him. It's pretty simple. Accept Jesus and live. Reject Jesus and eventually die with misery.

It's wrong when a mother tells her child, "Tommy you be a good boy and you'll go to heaven." Nope Tommy can be a good boy and go to hell if Tommy rejects Jesus. But if Tommy is a bad boy, repents, gets saved, and accepts the Lord Jesus, Tommy goes to heaven. Note also that 1 John 5:11 says And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son (Jesus) hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God (Jesus) hath not life.

Remember what anyone does with Jesus on this earth determines where they will live forever (either with Jesus in peaceful heaven or without Jesus in hell and the lake of fire). I pray in Jesus name that anyone who read this bible study will choose Jesus and eternal life in peaceful heaven.

I pray in Jesus name that this bible study blesses multitudes everywhere with great joy, peace, and strength. How Luke Short Got Saved At Age 100 Remembering An 85 Year Old John Flavel Sermon

Luke Short Gets Saved For Jesus At Age 100
Remembering An 85 Year Old John Flavel Sermon

A 15 year old boy named Luke Short listened one day in England to a sermon preached by John Flavel. He heard the preachers message but it had no effect at that time. Luke grew up, immigrated to America and spent the rest of his life as a farmer in Virginia. When Luke was 100 years old, he still had strength to walk across his farm and his mind was alert. But Luke was a lost sinner needing salvation from Jesus.

One day during his centennial year, when Luke sat resting under a shade tree, he reflected on that day as a teenager hearing John Flavel's message. Though Flavel had been dead many years, he could still hear the preacher's sermon ringing in his ears. Luke Short fell under conviction and gave his life to Jesus there under that shade tree because of a message preached 85 years ago. It is said that Luke Short lived to be 116 and on his tombstone were carved these words. Here lies the body of Luke Short; Aged according to nature 116 years; According to grace 16 years.

Like John Flavel Keep Preaching Jesus Everywhere
The Word Of Jesus Lasts Forever And Can Save Lost Sinners

Like John Flavel, keep preaching Jesus everywhere even when it seems no one around you is getting saved. There are many people like Luke Short who get saved because we preached Jesus. We might not hear about the souls we saved on this earth, but in heaven we will be rewarded for the many souls saved from our preaching. Our labor for Jesus is not in vain; 1 Corinthians 15:58 says Therefore, my beloved brethren be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. Hebrews 6:10 says For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Always offer salvation for Jesus everywhere. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. We all should at least tell one person a year about Jesus. Witnessing about Jesus gives our lives purpose and is why we are on this earth. Paul told us at 1 Corinthians 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

Even when people reject and persecute us for preaching about Jesus, rejoice and keep preaching Jesus. Someone once told DL Moody mind your own business after he asked him Do you believe in the Lord Jesus? DL Moody replied It is my business whether you are saved for Jesus. Someone once told Brother Bob go to hell after I asked him Do you believe in the Lord Jesus? Brother Bob replied I can't go to hell because I'm saved and going to heaven forever in peace with Jesus.

Remember the Word of God is a seed that gets planted into people that listen to your sermons. And when these people hear the Word from other preachers, the Word gets watered and eventually God will give the increase. Remember God also says at Isaiah 55:11 So shall my Word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. And Isaiah 59:1 promises Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. Jesus can save the worst sinner who asks for mercy while he remembers a sermon heard many years earlier.

Like The Farmers, Keep Preaching Jesus
Planting The Seed Of God's Word
Eventually The Harvest Will Occur
Where Multitudes Will Get Saved For Jesus

Don't get discouraged when you don't see immediate visible results and souls saved after you preach Jesus. Be like the farmers who always plant their seeds believing that a harvest will occur. James 5:7 says Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman (farmer) waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. Be a farmer for Jesus and keep preaching the Word of God and soon you will see your blessed harvest of many saved souls for Jesus.

Ecclesiastes 11:1 promises Cast thy bread (the Word of God) upon the waters (send the Word of God over the waters of this earth by texts, emails, youtube, and posts on facebook to many nations): for thou shalt find it after many days (eventually you will find many souls in heaven saved because you preached the Word of God on this internet). And remember Galatians 6:9 promises And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

A Blessed Quote From Amy Carmichael
Who Was A Great Missionary To India
Keep Witnessing And Preaching Jesus Everywhere At All Times

We will have all eternity to celebrate our victories
But only a few short hours to win them.
Excuses will always be plentiful, opportunities won't.

A Blessed Quote From Ann Hasseltine Judson
Who Was A Great Missionary To Burma Myanmar
Keep Witnessing And Preaching Jesus Everywhere At All Times

A little while, we are in eternity
Before we find ourselves there
Let us do much for Jesus.

The Jailer And Rahab Learned That
Jesus Can Save Wicked Sinners

The jailer and Rahab learned that Jesus can save wicked sinners. The jailer beat and placed Paul and Silas in prison. Every night at midnight, the jailer heard Paul and Silas praising Jesus. After an earthquake freed the prisoners, the jailer was going to kill himself. But Paul showed forgiveness and loved the jailer and offered the jailer salvation. The jailer's life was spared and the jailer got saved along with his family.

Rahab was a prostitute that sinned every day. One day Rahab heard about the goodness of God and got saved. Rahab feared God and protected spies sent to destroy her city Jericho. Rahab agreed to place a scarlet line outside her window so her house would be saved from Joshua's army. Eventually Rahab was saved, had a son named Boaz and became the grandparent to King David and our Lord Jesus.

Solomon Ginsburg A Wandering Jew Preaching Jesus In Brazil

How A Jew Named Solomon Ginsburg Got Saved
And Became A Blessed Preacher For Jesus In Brazil

Solomon Ginsburg pictured above was a Jew whose parents were wealthy orthodox Jews in Poland. After Solomon heard someone preaching about Jesus from Isaiah 53:5 that says But He (Jesus) was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with His stripes we are healed, Solomon got saved and accepted the Lord Jesus. Immediately after learning about Solomon's salvation, Solomon's entire Jewish family disowned and cursed him. Solomon told all his Jewish relatives Galatians 3:13 that says Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.

Like Solomon Ginsburg, Brother Bob also got saved for Jesus and left all his wealthy Jewish relatives to preach Jesus everywhere at preachbrotherbob. Solomon Ginsburg told his wealthy Jewish relatives, I'd rather choose Jesus that gives us peace that passeth all understanding with a joy unspeakable and full of glory than all the fading riches of this world. Like Solomon Ginsburg, Brother Bob says accepting Jesus and salvation was the best thing that ever happened in my life. I've never met anyone in my life that regretted getting saved with Jesus. Right now get saved and enjoy the peace, joy, and strength to overcome this world with Jesus. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

Solomon Ginsburg Becomes A Missionary To Brazil
Preaching About Jesus In Rio De Janeiro Pictured Above

Around 1895, Solomon Ginsburg decided to become a missionary to Brazil and win souls for our Lord Jesus. After Solomon learned the Portuguese language, he left Poland and Portugal, traveling to Brazil to preach Jesus everywhere. Brazil was ruled by Roman Catholic priests who forbid the distribution of 1611 King James bibles. Solomon Ginsburg obeyed Jesus instead of these ungodly wicked Catholic priests and distributed bibles throughout Brazil preaching about Jesus and salvation.

Then the Catholic priests arrested and placed Solomon Ginsburg in jail for distributing bibles and preaching about Jesus. But somehow Jesus blessed Solomon to escape jail and keep preaching about Jesus to the people of Brazil. During the early 1900s, Brazil was like the wild wild west of America, with many gangsters and bandits looting, stealing, and gambling. The Catholic priests and monks would pay gangsters and bandits to persecute, beat, and torture anyone that preached about Jesus and distributed a bible.

People would ask Solomon Ginsburg, Why did you choose to witness to the people of Brazil instead of witnessing Jesus to the Jews? Solomon replied It's because the greatest obstacle to the conversion of Jews and Gentiles and the evangelization of the world is the Catholic church. Solomon explained even though the Catholics in Brazil claim to be christian, they practice idolatry worshipping the Pope and Mary as gods, while they engage in materialistic customs, traditions, and degrading superstitions. If there is one thing that Jews learn, it is to oppose the worship of idols. My very instinct and nature revolted against the practices of the Catholic church.

Solomon Ginsburg told the people of Brazil that they were not required to practice the many traditions of the Catholic church to get saved with Jesus. Taking the sacraments, praying with rosary beads, and confessing sins to a priest were not required for salvation with Jesus. Solomon would tell people all that was required to be saved was to repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for them, was buried, and rose again.

Like Solomon, Brother Bob says Trust Jesus and go to heaven. Trust anything else and go to hell. Not the blood of Jesus plus water, not the blood of Jesus plus wafers, not the blood of Jesus plus works; But it's the blood of Jesus Christ plus nothing that saves. Titus 3:5 says Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His (Jesus') mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

How A Bandit Named Antonio Silvino
Paid By A Catholic Monk To Kill Solomon Ginsburg
Got Saved For Jesus

A Catholic monk paid a bandit named Antonio Silvino a lot of money to kill Solomon Ginsburg and stop the preaching of Jesus. While Ginsburg was riding a horse traveling to a meeting where he was scheduled to preach, he saw Antonio Silvino (the second person from the left in the top row pictured above) standing in a field with a double barreled shotgun. Not realizing that Silvino was sent to kill him, Solomon, thinking Silvino was a hunter wished Silvino a good day and showed kindness.

Antonio Silvino did not kill Solomon Ginsburg because of the kind words spoken by Solomon to Antonio. Instead Antonio decided to follow Solomon and listen to his preaching while he was disguised among the congregation. Wow we see that Proverbs 15:1 is correct that says A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. Truly the power of life and death is in the tongue. We reap what we sow. If we are kind, gentle, and forgiving, people will be kind, gentle, and forgiving to us. If we are mean, hateful, and complain, people will be mean, hateful, and complain to us. Proverbs 18:24 says A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend (Jesus) that sticketh closer than a brother.

After Antonio listened to Solomon's preaching, Antonio decided to visit Solomon's home. Earlier that day Solomon Ginsburg was informed that a man named Antonio Silvino was sent by the Catholic church to kill him. When Solomon learned that Antonio Silvino was knocking on the door of his house, Solomon prayed, hoping that Jesus would spare his life. To Solomon's surprise, he met Antonio Silvino crying on his knees asking Jesus to save his soul.

Antonio Silvino told Solomon that because of his kind words and preaching about the love of Jesus, he could not kill him. After Antonio got saved, he became Ginsburg's personal bodyguard. And when anybody saw Antonio Silvino, Antonio always had a bible in his hands reading and praying. This is why we need to love our enemies and bless them that persecute us. Jesus will take our worst enemies and make them our best friends. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.

But there is one other note to complete this story about Antonio Silvino. Solomon Ginsburg's life was spared from Silvino because of the prayers from several women in America. The day after Antonio spared Solomon's life, a letter arrived from the Young Women's Society of Americus, Georgia. The letter stated that these ladies offered special prayers of protection for Solomon Ginsburg the very day that Solomon met the celebrated bandit Antonio Silvino. These ladies prayers saved Solomon's life. James 5:16 says The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man (or woman) availeth much.

Solomon Ginsburg Helps Save The Meanest Bandit In Brazil
Named Herculano

One day the worst gangster in Brazil who was a big Brazilian giant named Herculano asked Jesus for forgiveness after hearing the preaching of Solomon Ginsburg. Then Herculano asked Solomon to visit his home and tell him more about Jesus. Solomon's friends told Ginsburg that Herculano lived in the most dangerous village of Brazil inhabited by many thieves and robbers. They warned Solomon not to visit Herculano because even the police feared to enter Herculano's village alone because strangers that ventured there were never heard from again.

But Solomon trusted Jesus telling everyone I'm going to visit Herculano and tell him about Jesus because 2 Timothy 1:7 says For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. When Solomon arrived at Herculano's home, Herculano said that he killed many people for Brazilian politicians and money. Then after Herculano learned from Solomon that the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin, Herculano repented of his sins and got gloriously saved.

After Herculano got saved, Herculano witnessed Jesus to all the people of his village. Many people in Herculano's village got saved and this village became safe and was no longer a dangerous place. 1 Peter 4:8 says And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. Because Solomon Ginsburg showed charity (love) by visiting Herculano, a whole village was changed where a multitude of sins were avoided. And then Herculano along with Antonio Silvino became Solomon Ginsburg's bodyguards, protecting him from all persecutors. Like Silvino, Herculano was faithful to Jesus for the rest of his life and won many people to salvation for our Lord Jesus Christ.

Solomon Ginsburg lived from 1867-1927. He was born a Jew but died a faithful Christian preaching Jesus to the people of Brazil. Note Solomon's tombstone pictured above with a Jewish star by his birthdate 8/6/1867 and a Christian cross by his date of death 3/31/1927.

Note the following blessed quotes stated by Solomon Ginsburg during his life. After Solomon got saved, he said It's simply wonderful what the Lord can do for a poor degraded penitent sinner. The blood of Jesus is efficacious and saves to the uttermost. Hebrews 7:25 says Wherefore He (The Father) is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him (Jesus), seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Take time to read the blessed words from one of Solomon Ginsburg's sermons. Solomon said "The saddest thing of all is the fact that Christ's love and free offer of pardon is not known. Oh how people strive to save themselves and to pacify their troubled conscience but all to no avail for only Jesus pardons and forgives and saves. Jesus needs to be preached. The gospel of Jesus needs to be published so people do not die in their sins and go to hell for lack of knowledge. Hosea 4:6 says My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."
