How Horatio Spafford And General Charles Gordon Discovered Calvary And The Tomb Of Jesus; Why Christians Should Wake Up From Sleep And Witness Jesus Everywhere; And How Parakletos Proves That Advocate Jesus Is The Holy Ghost

Learn How Horatio Spafford And General Charles Gordon
Discovered Calvary And Jesus' Tomb In 1883

Two men named Horatio Spafford and the British General Charles Gordon were influential in discovering Calvary and the tomb of Jesus. Horatio Spafford (1828-1888) who wrote the hymn It Is Well With My Soul decided to move from Chicago, Illinois to Israel and built a home. Mr. Spafford started an American colony in Israel holding weekly church services.

One day General Gordon visited Horatio Spafford's home. While sitting on Mr. Spafford's porch, General Gordon noticed a hill to the north of Jerusalem that looked like a skull. He told Horatio Spafford "That hill looks like a skull protruding out of the rubble." The next day General Gordon wrote a letter to his family saying "I think we've found Calvary." Then General Gordon and many men began removing the dirt around Calvary and discovered Golgatha.

Golgatha is called the place of the skull where Jesus was crucified. The bible tells us that after David slayed the giant Goliath of Gath, David took Goliath's skull to Jerusalem where Jesus would be crucified. 1 Samuel 17:54 says And David took the head of the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armour in his tent. This is why Calvary is called Golgatha (Gol-Goliath Gatha-of Gath). Jesus was crucified above the skull of the devil Goliath and the foot of Jesus bruised the head of the devil while the devil bruised the heel of Jesus. Look closely at the picture above of Calvary discovered by General Gordon and you will see the skull of Goliath laughing at David before he died. Goliath was a big giant and David took his big head to Jerusalem so Jesus could trample on the head of the devil proclaiming that Jesus' death on the cross has destroyed the devil forever.

Now after General Gordon discovered Calvary, he said that there has got to be an empty tomb where Jesus was buried near Calvary covered by rubble and dust carved in stone that is empty. After General Gordon cleared the rubble around Calvary, he found a 10 foot by 14 foot tomb carved into solid rock filled with dust and debris.

Being convinced that this was the very spot where the body of our Lord Jesus did lie, General Gordon had his men clear the dirt with great care. They gathered all the debris and shipped it to the Great Britain Scientific Association. Every part of the debris was microscopically analyzed. But there was no trace detected of human remains whatsoever.

No Bone Fragments, No Pieces Of Hair, Nothing But Dirt
Rejoice And Say What The Angel Proclaimed
He Is Not Here: For He Is Risen, As He Said

Now take a look at the picture above of the tomb of Jesus and notice the crack in the rock six feet above Jesus ' tomb. This crack was caused by the earthquake that rolled away the stone in front of Jesus' tomb. When Jesus was crucified two earthquakes occurred in three days. The first earthquake occurred when Jesus died on the cross and the veil was rent in two from top to bottom. The second earthquake occurred at the tomb of Jesus that rolled away the stone allowing Jesus to rise from the dead and live forevermore.

Now take a second look at the picture above of the tomb of Jesus and notice the gully or trough in front of the tomb of Jesus. The trough or gully was dug in the front of Jesus' tomb by Roman soldiers so a stone could be rolled in front of Jesus' tomb to block the entrance. But the stone was rolled away by the angel of the Lord who told the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

Today you can travel to Calvary and Jesus' empty tomb in Jerusalem. You can walk inside the empty tomb of Jesus and see a sign posted that says He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Thousands of people have visited Jesus' empty tomb. DL Moody and Charles Spurgeon have preached at the empty tomb of Jesus. And every day there is always someone preaching about Jesus to multitudes of lost sinners trying to win souls at the empty tomb of Jesus.

Jesus Was Born From A Virgin's Womb And Rose From An Empty Tomb
A Sealed Womb Couldn't Keep Him Out; A Sealed Tomb Couldn't Keep Him In
Jesus Was Born From A Borrowed Womb And Rose From A Borrowed Tomb

Isaiah 66:9 speaks about the sealed womb saying Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the Lord: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God. Matthew 27:66 speaks about the sealed tomb saying So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch. Matthew 28:2 says And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

I just had to add this blessed story about the tomb of Jesus. When Jesus was buried in Joseph's tomb, the Father went through the tomb and told Jesus "Son you've done everything I told you to do. Fold up the napkin and put it in a place by itself. Leave those old linen grave clothes and put on these new clothes. And let's get out of here." And the Father and Jesus who are one went out of that tomb without breaking the seal down to paradise into the lower parts of the earth to set the old testament saints free and take them up to the paradise third heaven.

And the angel that came down from heaven and rolled the stone away from the door of the tomb didn't roll it away to let Jesus out but to let the people in to see that Jesus was not there. Jesus had risen from the dead. There was no trace of Jesus' earthly body in the tomb. No bone fragments, no pieces of hair, nothing but dirt remained in Jesus' tomb. The angel of the Lord proclaimed the truth at Matthew 28:6. He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.  And no one stole Jesus' body from the tomb. This is because Jesus neatly folded up the napkin before he left the tomb, and a thief wouldn't take the time to neatly fold a napkin if he stole Jesus' body from the tomb.

Life is short and like
A thin footprint on a sea lashed shore
The stay of a postman
The glimpse of a passing ship
A quick burst of music down a crowded street

Time is short on this earth and James 4:14 pictured above says Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. Make the most of your time on this earth and witness about Jesus to multitudes all over this earth. Use this internet to witness to lost souls and win them to the Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:14 says Wherefore He saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly (diligently), not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Psalm 39:5 says Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.

Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning,
Confess That Jesus Is God, And Believe The Gospel,
That Jesus Died On The Cross For You, Was Buried, And Rose Again

Pictured Above We See Herman Who Fell Asleep At Church
Herman Placed The Following Note On His Shirt Sleeve For All To Read

Now I lay me down to sleep
The sermon's long, the subjects deep

If he gets through before I awake
Please give me a little shake

What should you do when people fall asleep in the church?
Somebody ought to wake up the preacher.

A preacher told a man to wake up his friend who was sleeping in church
The man told the preacher, "You put him to sleep, you wake him up."

A preacher told little Johnny I'll give you a dime
if you keep grandpa awake every Sunday in church
Johnny kept grandpa awake for a month but then grandpa slept again
Johnny told the preacher, "Grandpa gave me 15 cents so I let him sleep."

Don't be like Herman. Wake up, go to church, study the KJV bible, and stay alert while you witness Jesus everywhere. Remember the warning stated at 1 Corinthians 15:33. Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners (in other words don't waste time by texting evil communications on cellphones, facebook, and tiktok). Notice that in the next verse at 1 Corinthians 15:34 God says that instead of wasting time gossiping with evil communications, get your face out of a cellphone, look around, and witness Jesus everywhere. Awake to righteousness, and sin not (because there are billions of lost sinners all around us needing to hear about Jesus and get saved); for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Lord Jesus strengthen us to obey Romans 13:11: And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof. Let's all obey Jude 22. And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Instead of facebook, put your face in the right book (the bible)
Instead of getting many friends on facebook
Be like Abraham and be a friend of God

God has no cellphone, but I talk to Him
God has no facebook, but He's always my friend
God has no twitter, but I follow Him

Parakletos Proves That Jesus Is God And The Holy Ghost

For our final revelation today let's compare two bible verses where we see the word parakletos and find that Jesus is God and the Holy Ghost. First we learn that Jesus is our parakletos advocate lawyer at 1 John 2:1 that says My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate (called parakletos) with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

Now let's compare the second bible verse where parakletos is also called the Comforter Holy Ghost at John 14:26 that says But the Comforter (also called parakletos), which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Now like putting the pieces of a puzzle together, let's compare the word parakletos in 1 John 2:1 and John 14:26. We learn that our advocate lawyer Jesus is also God and the Comforter Holy Ghost because parakletos means both advocate and Comforter. Note that when anyone gets saved and receives the Lord Jesus, they also receive the Holy Spirit that is one with the Lord Jesus.

Titus 3:5 says Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost (This bible verse says that when anyone gets saved they also receive and are renewed with the Holy Ghost). It's wrong teaching when someone tells you that you need to work to get the Holy Spirit after you are saved.

And finally note one of God's names called The God And Father of our Lord Jesus Christ proving that Jesus is one with God and Jesus is the Lord God. Take time to read the following bible verses where this blessed name of God appears. Ephesians 1:3 says Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:3 says Blessed be the God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort. And finally 1 Peter 1:3 says Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

I pray in Jesus name that this bible study blesses multitudes everywhere with great joy, peace, and strength. Where Are You Looking?

Today, I ask the question Where are you looking? If you look around it's bad; if you look back it's worse; but if you look up and lift up your head to the Lord Jesus, things are looking pretty good. In other words The outlooks bad, the downlooks worse, but the uplook is looking pretty good. And if you have the right uplook, you'll have the right outlook and win souls to Jesus. Our Lord Jesus said at Isaiah 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: For I am God, and there is none else. In other words, look at Jesus who is God crucified daily to be saved all the ends of the earth. It's simple friends; just a look of faith at Jesus crucified on the cross will save you.  Right now, get saved, repent, stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

In the second picture we remember that Moses placed a brasen serpent on a pole for the people to look at to be healed after the serpent devil bit them. All the people had to do was to look by faith at the brasen serpent on the pole to be saved and healed. And Jesus said at John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up (Jesus was lifted up on a cross). In other words Jesus told us to look by faith daily at the cross to receive victory and healing over any trouble. Note that Jesus said at John 12:32-33 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. This He said, signifying what death he should die (proving that Jesus was lifted up from the earth when he died on the cross for our sins). The Lord Jesus is saying all you have to do is look by faith at Jesus Christ crucified instead of a brasen serpent on a pole to be saved and healed.

And notice that Isaiah 45:22 speaks to all the ends of the earth saying Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: For I am God, and there is none else. This offer of salvation is to the backside of China, to the outpost of Russia, to the North Pole, to the South Pole, to the east, and to the west. No nation or nationality is excluded from God's salvation. Just look by faith with your heart to the Lord Jesus crucified to be saved (not to Allah, Buddah, Gandhi, Confucious, or Muhammad who are all dead). Look to Jesus our God who is alive forevermore to be saved. And notice that the prophet Isaiah said that there is no other God (none else) to save you beside Jesus. Acts 4:12 tells us Neither is there salvation is any other: for there is none other name (Jesus) under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Remember don't look around to people to get blessed. It's discouraging to look to any person for a blessing. Keep your eyes on Jesus and off the people. 2 Corinthians 10:12 warns us For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. Instead, look up to Jesus your redemption for your blessing. Luke 21:28 pictured above tells us And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up and lift up your heads; for your redemption (Jesus) draweth nigh.

When anyone says why can't I have the same blessing like my neighbor or coworker and be equally treated it's discouraging. Instead look up to Jesus who can bless you greater than any man. Remember Psalm 75:6 says For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south (this means no man or attorney to the east or west around you and no devil to the south under you can bless you). But God is the judge (north above your head) (All blessings come from our Lord Jesus): He putteth down one, and setteth up another. Be still and let the Lord Jesus fight your battles. Right now say Hebrews 13:6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Let's get our eyes off earthly things and look at Jesus saying Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, and not on things on the earth. Right now look up to the hills and when you look up you'll see our Lord Jesus because Psalm 121:1 says I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

OK, let's join the two pictures above and say Titus 2:12-13  Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should "live" soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; "Looking" for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. Notice the two quoted words live looking and say I need to live looking for the blessed hope that is the glorious appearing of our Lord Jesus in the air that we will soon see when we are caught up to live with Him in the clouds in the air. Are you rejoicing in this blessed hope? Romans 5:1 tells us to rejoice in this blessed hope saying Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom we also have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in (the blessed) hope of the glory of God (when Jesus appears in the air during the rapture of the saints).

We should be looking for the Christ and not the antichrist. Most people reject the God who became a man named Jesus and will soon believe a man who claims to be God called the antichrist. Hebrews 12:2 is yet another scripture that tells us to look to Jesus Christ crucified and says Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Look unto Jesus and be blessed because John 6:40 says And this is the will of Him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son (and looks at Jesus crucified by faith), and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Like Moses, we should look by faith at our invisible Lord Jesus and not be afraid of our enemies around us. We overcome fear by looking to Jesus Christ crucified that is perfect love. 1 John 4:18 says There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear. Jesus Christ crucified is perfect love that casteth out fear because Jesus is perfect and no greater love is there than when Jesus died on the cross for us (John 15:13). If you look by faith to Jesus crucified when you face your enemies you will not be afraid. Also if you have to speak before large numbers of people, try looking to Jesus Christ crucified and you will not be afraid or nervous because perfect love (Jesus Christ crucified) casts out all fear.

And when you look to Jesus Christ crucified it's impossible to think a bad thought because the blood of Jesus blocks the devil from putting any bad thoughts in your head. 2 Corinthians 10:5 says Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought (all bad thoughts) to the obedience of Christ (by seeing the bad thought crucified with Jesus). Try looking to Jesus Christ crucified by faith and I guarantee you that it is impossible to think a bad thought when you see Jesus Christ crucified by faith.

Greater is He (Jesus) that is within us than he that is in the world. Hebrews 11:27 says By faith he (Moses) forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing Him (Jesus) who is invisible. Today claim Proverbs 28:1 and say The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion. I ain't chasin the devil and my enemies, but they run away anyway. Right now rejoice and say Psalm 68:1 Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate Him flee before Him.

Like Moses, don't look at earthly things that you see but look at Jesus who you don't see and be blessed. 2 Corinthians 4:18 says While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. The things on this earth are temporary and pass away but Jesus and the Word of God are eternal and last forever.

Instead of the fading riches of this world that we see, choose Jesus and the blessed eternal riches in the kingdom of God that are not seen. We'll be walking on a street of pure gold transparent glass in a jasper city of pure gold clear glass surrounded by the precious rainbow gemstones in the foundation of the kingdom of God living in our own mansions that last forever. And the riches of this earth won't even be remembered when Jesus burns up and destroys this earth with just the brightness of His face before He creates new heavens and a new earth. Isaiah 65:17 says For, behold, I (Jesus) create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. Revelation 20:11 tells us And I saw a great white throne, and Him (Jesus) that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

Just look at Jesus Christ crucified and receive the peace that passeth all understanding. It's better to have peace with Jesus when you sleep at night and all through the day than all the money and earthly treasures of this world. Hebrews 2:8 says Thou hast put all things in subjection under His feet. For in that He put all in subjection under Him, He left nothing that is not put under Him. But now we see not yet all things put under Him (Jesus). But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man. In other words it's good enough to just look at Jesus Christ crucified by faith now and soon we will be rewarded when we see the devil and all our enemies placed under our feet. Romans 16:20 says And the God of peace (Jesus) shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Take heed to the warning stated at Psalm 101:3: I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes. They asked my friend Billy Mitchell what's worse TV or radio. Billy said TV is worse than radio because the bible mentions the lust of the eyes and not the lust of the ears. If David just heard the pouring of water, he wouldn't have committed adultery with Bathsheba. But David saw Bathsheba bathing with his eyes and committed adultery and killed Bathsheba's husband Uriah. Instead, let's say Psalm 16:8 I have set the Lord (The Word Of God) always before me: because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Truly Lord Jesus your Word is Spirit and it is life. Live looking daily to Jesus crucified and the Word of God.

Isaiah 26:3 promises Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord (Jesus) for ever: for in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength (the Hebrew definition of strength is Rock) (In other words the Lord Jesus is the everlasting Rock of Ages). Truly let's claim the promises of Psalm 18:2 and say The Lord (Jesus) is my Rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Ahab And David's Reactions To Elijah And Nathan's Rebukes

A TALE OF TWO SINFUL KINGS
AND HOW THEY REACTED TO TWO PROPHET'S REBUKES
AHAB AND ELIJAH, DAVID AND NATHAN

Let's learn how two kings (Ahab and David) pictured above who sinned reacted to two prophets (Elijah and Nathan) who rebuked their sins. How we react when God corrects our sins by the Word of God determines if we are blessed or cursed. Brother Bob's worst enemy is Brother Bob and I have to decrease and let Jesus increase in my life. When God corrects and chastens us for sin, we should stop sinning and live instead of dying in the pleasure of sin. Hebrews 12:11 says Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

When you are tempted to sin, to live and stop sinning remember the following scriptures. Romans 8:13 says For if you live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. Romans 6:23 says For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. When you quote these scriptures you will stop sinning and realize that sin causes death but to live holy with Jesus causes blessings and life. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

First, let's look at Ahab's reaction to a rebuke of his sin. Ahab had his wife Jezebel kill an innocent man named Naboth to acquire his vineyard. Ahab took down a sign that said Naboth's vineyard and replaced it with a sign that said Ahab's acres.

Pictured above, one day Ahab was walking proudly with a glint of self satisfaction and unholy gratification through his new vineyard. As he walked, he was surprised to see the prophet Elijah whom he thought had died under a juniper tree afraid of Jezebel's murderous threats. Elijah told Ahab at 1 Kings 21:19 Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? Thus saith the Lord, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine.

Now notice Ahab's response to Elijah's rebuke. 1 Kings 21:20 says And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? Ahab did not repent when Elijah confronted him about his sin of killing an innocent man to obtain his vineyard. Instead 1 Kings 21:25 says But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the Lord, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up. And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all things as did the Amorites, whom the Lord cast out before the children of Israel.

Now let's compare how David pictured above responded when the prophet Nathan rebuked him for killing an innocent man named Uriah the Hittite to commit adultery with his wife named Bathsheba. King David was sitting on his throne one day when the prophet Nathan showed up. David said Nathan tell me a story because I love your blessed illustrations.

Nathan told David about two men. One was very wealthy and the other was very poor. The poor man only owned one little ewe lamb and the wealthy man had many flocks of sheep. One day the rich man had his servant take the poor man's little lamb even though he had many flocks of sheep. David told Nathan that this was wrong and he said I'll have this rich man pay fourfold for his sin. Then Nathan pointed his finger at David and said Thou art the man. You had many women but took poor Uriah's wife Bathsheba for yourself and had Uriah killed.

Now notice David's response to Nathan when he was confronted about his sin. David said unto Nathan at 2 Samuel 12:13 I have sinned against the Lord. This was totally different from Ahab's response to Elijah who said Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? David's reaction to Nathan's rebuke was total repentance that resulted in blessings while Ahab's reaction to Elijah's rebuke was scorn with a desire to continue sinning that resulted in death and trouble.

Take time to read Proverbs 9:8 pictured above. Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man and he will love thee. Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. How anyone reacts to God's rebukes from God's Word will determine if they are a scorner or a wise man.

David was a wise man who repented and stopped sinning when confronted about his sins by Nathan the prophet. Because David repented God blessed him with a son named Solomon who built a glorious temple unto the Lord. Ahab was a scorner and foolish man who kept sinning when confronted about his sins by Elijah the prophet. Because Ahab scorned Elijah and kept sinning, he died three years later, his body pierced by an arrow in a war chariot where the dogs licked his blood as Elijah had said. David is remembered as a wise man after God's own heart but Ahab is only remembered as a symbol of scorn.

Notice that Ahab and David blamed others for their sins. Ahab blamed his wife Jezebel for killing Naboth to get his vineyard. David sent Uriah himself with a message that condemned him to death by having Joab put him in the front lines of a battle. David blamed Joab for killing Uriah.

Most people like Ahab and David when confronted about their sins blame others and say it's his fault, it's her fault, it's their fault, it's the preacher's fault, it's the churches fault, or it's my parent's fault. But God says your problems are your fault. Pictured above God says at Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins (and blames others for his or her faults) shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

When Adam pictured above was confronted about his sin by God, he blamed Eve for his sin. Adam told God at Genesis 3:12 The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

A preacher told a story that after Adam and Eve got kicked out of the garden of Eden for sinning and eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, Cain, Abel, and Adam were working one day near the fence surrounding the garden of Eden. Angels were guarding the fence and did not allow them to enter the garden of Eden because of Adam and Eve's sin.

Cain asked Adam, Why can't we work in the beautiful garden of Eden instead of working in this world of thorns and thistles by the sweat of our brow? It looks a lot better over there in Eden. Adam put the blame on Eve and replied "Son we can't work in Eden because your mother ate us out of house and home."

Next notice Psalm 106:15 pictured above that says And He (God) gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul. Ahab got his vineyard but he also got a death sentence from Elijah. David got Bathsheba but he also got a rebuke from Nathan and suffered fourfold vengeance from God. Even though David repented, David suffered fourfold vengeance and lost four sons (Bathsheba's first baby, Amnon, Absalom, and Adonijah). David also reaped Ahithophel, the grandfather of Bathsheba, who was Absalom's chief advisor in wickedness and rebellion against David. Ahithophel also died because of his bitterness when Hushai the Archite's counsel was chosen by Absalom instead of Ahithophel's counsel. All this occurred because David sowed to his flesh by committing adultery with Bathsheba.

Sin has consequences. James 1:15 says Sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. According to Hebrews 11:25 the pleasures of sin are just for a season that cause death. I'd rather deny sin and have pleasures forevermore with Jesus according to Psalm 16:11 that says Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence (Lord Jesus) is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore.

Realize that there are deadly consequences for one trifling fancy and one fun night of debauchery. A story was told of a man at a church meeting in a wheelchair that kept saying One night, one night, one night, does this equal one night? When asked by the preacher why he said this, the man replied, Does one night in the arms of a woman of the night equal this loathsome disease? Neighbor think before you sin of the consequences. People can die from aids for one fun night of fornication or sodomy. It's not worth getting a disease that causes death for one night of sinful fun.

Tell people who like Ahab become proud and try to get rich by sinning and harming others the following bible verses. Proverbs 10:2 says Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death. The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but He casteth away the substance of the wicked. Proverbs 13:11 says Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.

Psalm 37:16 says A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. Proverbs 15:16 says Better is a little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith. Proverbs 16:8 says Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right. In other words it is better to be a blessed poor person with two nickels living in a cardboard shack who fears the Lord Jesus than a troubled wealthy millionaire in an extravagant palace who does not fear the Lord Jesus. The peace of God that passeth all understanding with the Lord Jesus is better than all the money and possessions of this world.

Note what Jeremiah said about the little bird called a partridge. The partridge will sit on other bird's eggs and then abandon them. Jeremiah 17:11 says As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; So he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool. Like the partridge, a rich fool can not take his money and possessions with him when he dies. Job 27:8 says For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul? It's better to have Jesus and eternal life in heaven where even the street we walk on is pure gold transparent glass.

What have we learned from how Ahab and David reacted to Elijah and Nathan's rebukes about their sins. Ahab got mad at Elijah's rebuke and kept sinning and was cursed. David repented at Nathan's rebuke and got right and got blessed.  Remember how you react to God's rebuke of your sin will determine if you are blessed or cursed. Ahab's reaction to keep sinning equals the eternal consequences of disaster and destruction. David's reaction of repentance and stopping sin equals forgiveness, restoration, and eternal life. There's a price to be paid or a gain to be made depending on how you react to an open rebuke against your sin.

We should rejoice when God uses His Word to correct and chasten us about sins we are not aware of. If we change our ways and stop sinning after God corrects and chastens us, we will receive blessings for living holy. Take time to read how God loves us as children more than our earthly fathers and chastens us to bless us.

Pictured above Hebrews 12:5 says And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children. My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of Him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but He for our profit, that we might be partakers of His holiness. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

I encourage everyone to be blessed and say David's prayer of repentance when confronted about his sins by Nathan at Psalm 51:1. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all of mine iniquities.

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy Holy Spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with they free Spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

How To Overcome Adversity

Today lets look at Joseph's life to learn how to overcome adversity. First let me state that the answer to overcome adversity is one word Jesus. Jesus said at John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation (trouble): but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Overcome all adversity and get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

First we learn that to overcome adversity realize that the Lord Jesus is always with you through any trouble. Pictured above we see that Joseph overcame adversity when Potiphar, his slave master, knew that the Lord Jesus was always with him. Like Joseph, people around us on our jobs will see that the Lord Jesus is with us while we overcome any adversity. Genesis 39:1 says And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharoah, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmaelites, which had brought him down thither. And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand.

Like Joseph, whenever you face adversity, look up to the Lord Jesus who will help you overcome any problem. Luke 21:28 says And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption (Jesus) draweth nigh. The Lord Jesus is always with you to deliver you from any adversity. Hebrews 13:5 says Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He (Jesus) hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Pictured above we see that Ecclesiastes 7:13 says that God allows both prosperity and adversity. This scripture says Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which He hath made crooked? In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after Him. This means that nothing besides the Lord Jesus can deliver you from any adversity.

In other words whenever you face any trouble, don't react; first look to Jesus in prayer and ask Jesus for assistance to overcome the adversity. Philippians 4:6 says Be careful for nothing (don't worry about anything); but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God (notice that if you look and pray to Jesus and not react to your problems you receive peace), which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

AND SING THE HYMN GOD LEADS HIS DEAR CHILDREN ALONG
WRITTEN BY GEORGE A. YOUNG 1903

In shady green pastures, so rich and so sweet
God leads His dear children along
Where the water's cool flow, bathes the weary ones' feet
God leads His dear children along

Some through the waters, some through the flood
Some through the fire, but all through the blood
Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song
In the night season and all the day long

Sometimes on the mount, where the sun shines so bright
God leads His dear children along
Sometimes in the valley, in darkest of night
God leads His dear children along

Though sorrows befall us, and satan oppose
God leads His dear children along
Through grace we can conquer, defeat all our foes
God leads His dear children along

Anywhere with Jesus I can safely go
Anywhere He leads me in this world below
Anywhere without Him dearest joys would fade
Anywhere with Jesus I am not afraid

To overcome adversity be content without complaining about your present circumstance. Be like Paul saying at Philippians 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. Notice that Joseph did not complain about being a slave to Potiphar and was promoted for being content. Genesis 39:4 says And Joseph found grace in his (Potiphar's) sight, and he served him (notice Joseph served Potiphar and did not pout and cry about being a slave): and he (Potiphar) made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.

Like Joseph, if we are content and stop complaining about our lives, the Lord Jesus will promote and bless us. Psalm 75:6 says For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south (notice that promotion only comes from the north and from the Lord Jesus in heaven). But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another.

Let's learn why promotion does not come from the east, west, or south. If you look east or west on this earth to man there is no promotion. Of course if you look south to the devil there definitely is no promotion. The outlooks bad and the downlooks worse, but the uplook is looking pretty good. And if you have the right uplook, you'll have the right outlook and win lost souls to our Lord Jesus. Therefore Brother Bob says LOOK UP NORTH TO JESUS and you will definitely be promoted. If we all trust in Jesus daily, Ephesians 3:20 promises Now unto Him (Jesus) that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Philippians 4:13 promises I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Throughout history northern countries have always won battles in war. Promotion and victory always comes from the north. Babylon north of Egypt conquered Egypt. Assyria north of Babylon conquered Babylon. Greece and Alexander the Great north of Assyria conquered Assyria. Rome north of Greece conquered Greece. The Vandals, Goths, Visigoths, and Huns located in Germany north of Rome conquered Rome. After World War II, England and Russia allies with America north of Germany and Japan conquered Germany and Japan. The north beat the south in the American Civil War.  North Vietnam won the war against South Vietnam. North Korea did not lose the war against South Korea. But rejoice because the Lord Jesus who is north of every nation and people will conquer everything, win the final battle, and be King of this earth for 1000 glorious years during the millennium.

Here's some scriptures about looking north to Jesus for blessings. Psalm 24:7 says Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah. Psalm 121:1 says I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. Psalm 48:1 says Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of His holiness. Beautiful for situation, (defined to the heights), the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides (defined to the coasts) of the NORTH, the city of the great King.

To overcome adversity deny sin through any trouble. Joseph refused to commit the sin of adultery with Potiphar's wife during his adversity. Genesis 39:7 says And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph, and she said, Lie with me. But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

Like Joseph, remember that Romans 6:23 says For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Choose life Jesus instead of sin and death during any adversity. Joseph chose to live and be blessed with God instead of sinning and dying by committing adultery with Potiphar's wife.

Then Potiphar's wife falsely accused Joseph of rape and had Joseph thrown into prison. I could see Joseph saying I'd rather be in the lowest dirty dungeon with God than in the pleasures of sin without God. Like Joseph we should say it is better to be a good soldier in the army of the Lord and endure a little hardness with the Lord Jesus than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. 2 Timothy 2:3 says Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please Him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

Let's also learn how the hawk pictured above responds to an attack from a crow. Hawks do not make counterattacks but fly higher and higher in ever widening circles until their tormentors (many crows) leave them alone. The crows can't fly as high as the hawks.

Like hawks, we need to fly higher and higher spiritually above any temptation to sin during adversity. The Lord Jesus will give us the grace to overcome any temptation to sin during adversity. Like hawks, don't complain and react to your problems; fly high above any problem with the Lord Jesus where sin is overcome. Remember we overcome sin and the devil by the blood of Jesus and the word of our testimony. Daily tell the devil and any sin I am crucified with Jesus Christ and the blood of Jesus has overcome you devil, cleansed me of all my sins, and evil must pass over me.

Now take time to read a story about a large colorful poisonous spider that lives along the banks of the Amazon river to learn why to deny sin during adversity. This spider spreads itself out and looks exactly like the blossom of a brilliant beautiful flower. Bees and other insects lighting upon it expect to find sweet honey. Instead the spider secretes a poison that drugs them and eventually kills them before they are consumed by the spider.

This spider represents sin that looks pleasant but eventually poisons and kills. Sin appears like a beautiful blossoming rose but actually sin contains deadly poison that causes death. Remember that the only thing that can steal our perfect peace with Jesus is if we yield to temptation and sin during adversity. Jesus said at Luke 9:23 If any man will come after me, let him deny himself (deny sin), and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Don't depend on anyone except Jesus to overcome adversity. You can't depend on people. Just when you need them the most, you look around and they're gone. But you can depend on Jesus who is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother and will always be there to deliver you from any trouble. If we trust in Jesus to deliver us from adversity, Jesus will send angels to help us overcome any adversity.

Pictured above, we see that Joseph met a baker and a butler in prison and interpreted their dreams. Joseph said that the baker would die in three days and that in three days the butler would be restored to his butlership before Pharoah. Joseph asked the butler to tell Pharoah to remember that he was innocent and falsely imprisoned. But Genesis 40:23 says Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph (for two years), but forgat him. Joseph could not depend upon the butler to overcome his adversity. But God delivered Joseph from prison by having him released by Pharoah to interpret the Pharoah's dreams.

Take time to read the following story about how we can't depend on people for encouragement to overcome adversity. One day a great musician was playing in a public ampitheatre before a great crowd of people; The musician thought surely he was holding his audience because of his lovely music.

But after a while the market bell rang and instantly all but one person rushed out of the ampitheatre to buy goods at the market. The musician stopped playing and turned to his solitary admirer and complimented him for preferring good music over good merchandise from the market. Master the old man said; Speak up I'm hard of hearing; Did you say the market bell has rung? Why yes, but why? And while the old man was running out of the ampitheatre, the musician yelled, Thanks for coming.

Like this musician, we can't depend on people to overcome adversity. These people will leave us and say it's time to watch my favorite youtube video or see the posts on facebook; it's time to go to the ball game; or it's time to have fun gambling at the casino. Jesus could not depend on his disciples in His time of adversity in the garden of Gethsemane. Mark 14:50 says And they all forsook Him, and fled (even John the beloved; but John was not gone for long and was at the cross with Jesus). But Jesus is God and raised Himself from the dead to live forevermore as Lord of lords and King of kings.

Pictured above we see that in the very center of the bible at Psalm 118:8 it says It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. Psalm 20:7 says Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. Proverbs 3:5 says Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Jeremiah 17:5 says Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.  But note that Jeremiah 17:7 says Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Notice the picture above that says sometimes you must stand alone. In those times God is all you need. Paul learned this and said at 2 Timothy 4:16 At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge. Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

And finally to overcome adversity we must forgive everyone and not have any bitterness. Unforgiveness makes people bitter, ugly, mean, and nasty. Forgiveness makes people peaceable, joyful, and removes burdens. Ephesians 4:31 says Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Paul said at 2 Corinthians 2:10 To whom ye forgive anything, I forgive also: for if I forgive any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ. Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. This scripture is saying we must forgive to overcome adversity or the devil will get a stronghold in our lives and get an advantage over us.

Joseph learned to forgive his brothers to overcome his adversity. Joseph's brothers had sold him into slavery in Egypt. But Joseph overcame his troubles by blessing these brothers. Joseph told his brothers at Genesis 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.

Job also learned to forgive and pray for his enemies to overcome adversity. Job 42:10 says And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends (the three men that constantly persecuted Job): also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

Finally let's see what the prophet Isaiah has to say about how to overcome adversity. Isaiah 30:20 says And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner anymore, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers. And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. According to Isaiah, God will by His Spirit speak answers into our ears about how to overcome adversity. In conclusion, to overcome adversity, trust the Lord Jesus, be content, deny sin, don't depend on people, and forgive everyone.

How Proverbs Describes A Fool

Let's learn how the book of Proverbs describes a fool. Let me state that the only way to escape a fool's destruction is to be wise with the Lord Jesus. The opposite of foolishness is wisdom. Study the Word of God (KJV bible) that is Jesus to get wisdom. If anyone receives the Lord Jesus, they receive wisdom, avoiding a fool's destruction, because Jesus is wisdom according to 1 Corinthians 1:30: But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. Choose to get saved, become wise, and escape the destruction of a fool. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

Proverbs 14:9 says Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour. This scripture says fools boast and brag about how they enjoy sin. A fool brags about enjoying fornicating with hundreds of women and constantly drinking beer and taking drugs every night at the local bar. This fool does not realize that his sins will destroy him and send him eternally to hell and the lake of fire.

Proverbs 13:19 says The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil. He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. Fools refuse to depart from evil and a fool and his companions that enjoy and brag about their sins will be destroyed. Walk with wise christians that preach the blessed KJV bible and become wise with great peace.

Stay away from the house of a fool that constantly sins by smoking weed, fornicating, and drinking all day. Proverbs 4:14 says Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.  Just witness and offer the Lord Jesus to sinners in public places but do not be partakers of sin at a fool's personal home.

The book of Romans describes a fool. Romans 1:22 says Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. Romans 1:29 tells us that these fools are filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Fools have pleasure with other fools sinning in the bars all night and bragging about their fornication, drug, and alcohol use. These fools know about the judgment of God and how they will die from their sins. I pray in Jesus name that anyone reading this bible study escapes the destruction of a fool and receives eternal life with the Lord Jesus. 1 Corinthians 6:11 says And such were some of you (fornicators, idolators, adulterers, effeminate, abusers of themselves with mankind, thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners): but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Proverbs 28:13 says He (a fool) that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.  I've heard many a fool cover up their sin by saying everybody's shaking up, fornicating, drinking, and smoking weed so it can't be all that bad. Or they'll say my mother and grandfather sinned all their life so I guess I'll sin too. Finally others cover up their sin by saying I sin because it's just the way I am and my nature. But God says at Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Then there are other fools who say they never have sinned and are perfect like Sun Myung Moon. Sun Myung Moon is a fool because Romans 3:23 says For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Any fool who covers his sins shall not prosper. Confess and forsake your sins and receive mercy and salvation from Jesus.

Instead of being a fool and covering your sin, speak out against sin. Isaiah 58:1 says Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgresson, and the house of Jacob their sins. Be like Billy Sunday pictured above crying out against sin by saying "If I got a fist, I'll hit sin, If I got a foot, I'll kick sin, If I got a head, I'll butt sin, If I got teeth, I'll bite sin, and if I got dentures, I'll take them out and gum the devil and his sin to death."

The book of Philippians describes a fool. Philippians 3:18 says For many walk of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things. Fools enjoy sinning and glory in the shame of their sins and note that their end is destruction. Pictured above Proverbs 28:6 says Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich. Proverbs 15:17 says Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith. Proverbs 17:1 says Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices and strife.

Note the following scriptures that say fools will not receive words of reproof to correct their evil ways. Proverbs 9:7 says He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot (this means if you try to correct a fool, the fool will get mad and try to fight you). Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee. Fools hate people that tell them to stop sinning. But wise saved saints love words of reproof and correction from the bible because they want to please God and be blessed.

Proverbs 27:22 describes a fool saying Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him. Solomon was speaking about how wheat used to be brayed or beaten in a mortar with a pestle hammer to remove the wheat's impurities. In other words if you beat a fool with a pestle hammer in a mortar among wheat, the fool would remain a fool or if you surround a fool with a group of saved saints in a church, the fool is still a fool only trying to blend in with a crowd of saints. Only Jesus and not people can save anyone. Acts 4:12 says Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name (Jesus) under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Proverbs 29:1 describes a fool that refuses to receive correction saying He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy. Proverbs 7:22 describes fools that refuse warnings to stop fornicating saying He goeth after her (a harlot prostitute) straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.

Proverbs 5:3 says For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword. Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell. Proverbs 6:26 says For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adultress will hunt for the precious life. Proverbs 21:9 says It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house. Proverbs 21:19 says It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than (shaking and fornicating) with a contentious and an angry woman. But Hebrews 13:4 says Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. Stop fornicating and get married by an anointed preacher and get blessed by the Lord Jesus today.

Next let's see what the bible has to say about fools that gather together in nightclubs and bars all night drinking alcohol, fornicating, and taking drugs. God calls these fools the congregation of the dead. Proverbs 21:16 says The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead. And the bible goes on to say that fools that gather together in the congregation of the dead in bars all night loving pleasure shall be poor. Proverbs 21:17 says He that loveth pleasure (partying in bars all night) shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

These fools will not receive reproofs of correction and remain in sin. It's like a man that says I was born a Catholic and I'm going to die a Catholic. I don't want your Jesus. Don't talk to me about your Jesus because I don't want to be born again. But a wise man will listen to reproofs of correction from the bible and stop sinning. Proverbs 6:23 says For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life.

Brother Bob tells my friends everywhere don't be a fool. Be wise and heed to Matthew 10:28 pictured above that says And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him (The Lord Jesus) which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Someone told me that the government watches every web site you visit on the internet because ads that relate to your searches appear. But Jesus also watches everything we do daily. Proverbs 15:3 says The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. Luke 12:2 says For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Hebrews 4:13 says Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. Live every day realizing that Jesus is always watching you and avoid sinning.

The Psalms say that a fool is a person that refuses to believe that Jesus is God. The majority of the 7 billion people on planet earth are fools because they do not believe that Jesus is God. Psalm 53:1 says The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity (note that a fool is corrupt and abominable in God's sight): there is none that doeth good. One day an atheist sitting on a porch said to a little boy walking with his bible to Sunday school, I'll give you an apple if you can tell me where God is. The little boy replied, I'll give you a barrel of apples if you can tell me where God is not.

When I think about atheist fools that don't believe in God, I think about Madalyn Murray O'Hair who was the President of Atheists for America that had a membership of over 10000 atheists. Madalyn was best known for her successful campaign in 1962 to have prayer removed from the classroom. But she didn't stop there. Madalyn wanted prayer to be banned from outer space.

Ms. O'Hair after hearing words of prayer radioed to earth by christian astronaut Buzz Aldrin pictured above and his fellow astronauts when they circled the moon said I think the astronauts were ill advised and that this is a tragic situation. As a result, Ms. O'Hair went to Washington DC where she registered an official protest against the National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA) which she accused of prompting and coercing the astronauts to schedule the prayer in outer space.

Madalyn's protest was rejected by the United States Supreme Court for lack of jurisdiction. As a result, NASA asked Buzz Aldrin to refrain from quoting the bible during the Apollo 11 mission but Buzz was allowed to conduct the first communion service for our Lord Jesus in outer space.

But it didn't end well for Ms. OHair. Ms. OHair was found dead and murdered with her son and granddaughter also murdered three years after their disappearance in 1997. The murderer abducted and killed them while stealing all of the money owned by the American Atheist organization (three quarters of a million dollars). Truly Ms. OHair experienced the death of a fool described at Proverbs 11:19 that says As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.

When you call the atheist prayer line, no one answers
When a man saw an atheist in a coffin at the funeral home
He said "All dressed up and no place to go."

An atheist had a sign in his home that said God is nowhere
A little girl that saw this sign said Praise Jesus God is now here

You see folks, there is no neutral ground. Either a person follows Jesus and lives or follows sin as a fool and dies. Proverbs 8:34 says Blessed is the man that heareth me (Jesus who is wisdom), watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoso findeth me (Jesus) findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord. But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

Fools don't realize the danger of laughing and telling everyone I'll be in hell partying and drinking beer forever enjoying sin with all my buddies. These fools don't realize that their sin without repentance to the Lord Jesus will place them in hell and the lake of fire to be tormented forever in everlasting fire suffering eternally.

Proverbs 9:17 says Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her (sin's) guests are in the depths of hell. Hebrews 11:25 tells us that the pleasures of sin are only for a season. But according to Psalm 16:11 the pleasures with Jesus are forevermore. Stolen waters might be sweet for a season but the end result is torment in hell and the lake of fire forever. Instead get saved and choose the pleasures of peace with Jesus forevermore.

Note what God says to the fool that has rejected many offers of salvation from our Lord Jesus. God says at Proverbs 1:24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at naught all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

Proverbs 1:28 goes on to say Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

These scriptures warn us that a fool can sin to a place where he can't return to Jesus. Don't be a fool. Stop sinning and get saved today with the Lord Jesus. 2 Corinthians 6:2 says For He (the Lord Jesus) saith,  I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
