Mysteries Revealed By Jesus

What was the last act that Jesus did on this earth? If you look at the above scripture you will discover that Jesus' last act on this earth was to save a lost sinner who was the thief by Him on the cross. The Lord Jesus fulfilled what He spoke at Luke 5:32 that says I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Look at the words of the thief by Jesus at Luke 23:42 that says And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Note that the Lord Jesus took time to witness and save the lost thief while he ignored the weight of sin that He carried from billions of sinners at the cross of Calvary. Like Jesus, ignore the troubles of this world and witness Jesus everywhere. Look to Jesus and you will find strength to overcome any trouble in this world. Hebrews 12:2 says Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him that endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. Like Jesus, to give your life purpose and meaning, witness Jesus everywhere and win lost sinners to the Lord Jesus.

The thief got saved by repenting and calling Jesus Lord at the cross of Calvary. The thief was drycleaned when he got saved, not needing to be baptized in water for salvation. Just by calling Jesus Lord at the cross of Calvary with repentance and believing the gospel gave the thief salvation. The thief got saved by remembering Joel 2:32 that says And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord (Jesus) shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call. Like the thief, get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

When we think about the thief that got saved by Jesus, let's remember Romans 4:5. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Notice that the thief did not have to do good works to be saved. All the thief had to do was repent, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for him, was buried, and rose again. DL Moody wrote that the thief had nails through both hands so that he could not work and a nail through each foot so that he could not run errands for the Lord. He could not lift a hand or a foot toward his salvation and yet Jesus offered him the gift of God and he took it. Jesus threw the thief a passport and took the thief with Him to paradise.

The following scriptures prove that faith in the Lord Jesus without works saves people. Titus 3:5 says Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. Ephesians 2:8 says For by grace are ye saved through faith (in Jesus alone); and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. You don't work to be saved. You work because you are saved. I would not work my soul to save for this my Lord has done but I would work like any slave for love of his dear Son. We do good works after salvation to let others see Jesus where later at the bema judgment seat after the rapture we will receive rewards for our good works. Ephesians 2:10 says For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Galatians 5:6 tells us that faith worketh by love. The greatest love happened when Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross of Calvary and died to save lost sinners. John 15:13 says Greater love hath no man than this, that a man (Jesus) lay down His life for His friends. Love happened with Jesus Christ died on the cross of Calvary. Everyone wants to be loved. Preach about Jesus Christ crucified and people will have faith which worketh by love to overcome this troubled world. Jesus said at Mark 9:23 If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

The following scriptures tell us that Jesus Christ crucified is love. 1 John 3:16 says Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down his life for us (this refers to the Lord Jesus dying on the cross of Calvary for sinners): and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.1 John 4:10 says Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son (Jesus) to be the propitiation for our sins (when Jesus died on the cross of Calvary for sinners to satisfy God's wrath).

The Lord Jesus did the work at the cross of Calvary and destroyed the devil for ever. Hebrews 2:14 says Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil. Therefore to have faith and love where all things are possible, get saved and tell the devil I am crucified with Jesus Christ and with Jesus' stripes I am healed. Look by faith with your heart to the cross of Calvary that is the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever and you will overcome the troubles of this world. Thank you Lord Jesus for dying for sinners on the cross.

Notice the picture above of a blessed woman named Mary Magdalene blessing the Lord Jesus with spikenard to preserve Jesus' body for burial. Mark 14:3 speaks about Mary Magdalene anointing Jesus with spikenard at Simon's house and says And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as He sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on His head. Jesus said at Mark 14:8 She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying. Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she has done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.

Jesus also said at Matthew 26:12 For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial. At the cross of Calvary, the sweet smelling spikenard's odour remained and was greater than the foul odour of vinegar mingled with the poisonous gall (hemlock plant) drink that Jesus tasted but did not drink, preserving Jesus' body from decay for burial and is a witness about Jesus' resurrection from the dead with eternal life.

Spikenard was used to anoint the body of the deceased to delay decomposition and mask the odour of decay during the period between death and burial. The spikenard was a witness that Jesus' body would not decay. Instead Jesus' body would become glorified, resurrected, and be preserved forever with eternal life. Like Jesus, saved saints bodies won't ever decay, will become glorified, and will be preserved with eternal life. Romans 8:11 says But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you. 2 Corinthians 4:14 says Knowing that He which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. Jesus said at John 6:40 And this is the will of Him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

As a side note, it's remarkable that Jesus fulfilled the prophecy of Psalm 69:21 that says They gave me also gall (a poisonous hemlock plant) for my meat; and in my thirst they gave vinegar to drink. Matthew 27:34 says They gave Him (Jesus) vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, He would not drink. In other words no man could kill Jesus. Jesus said at John 10:17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

People have said Brother Bob how do you know that the unnamed woman at Simon's house that anointed Jesus with spikenard was Mary Magdalene? In response I tell people to read Luke's account of this story at Luke 7:36 to the end of the chapter. Then notice at Luke 8:2 we see that after Mary Magdalene anointed Jesus with spikenard at Simon's house, Mary Magdalene was healed of evil spirits and infirmities and followed Jesus. Luke 8:1 says And it came to pass afterward, that He (Jesus) went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him. And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils (the bible tells us that Mary Magdalene was the woman healed at Simon's house that followed Jesus). And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto Him of their substance.

Let's learn a lesson from Mary and her kind act to the Lord Jesus. Don't wait to say kind words about a person after that person is dead and gone. Like Mary, give your bouquets and flowers to a person while he or she lives and not later place your bouquets and flowers over that person's grave. Right now make up your mind to be like Mary and daily write and make phone calls saying kind words of prayers to encourage and bless people. May the Lord Jesus bless you while we follow Mary's example of showing kindness to the poor daily, thereby blessing Jesus.

Notice the picture above of the beautiful sequoia trees. The sights in the kingdom of God are so much more spectacular than any sight we could witness on this earth. When you look at the picture above of the giant sequoias, let me quote DL Moody who wrote You might see many beautiful trees on this earth like the tall cedars and giant sequoias, but you must get saved with the Lord Jesus to see the most magnificent tree of life ( who is Jesus) in the kingdom of God. Jesus said at John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

You might look upon beautiful mansions and elegant palaces on this earth, but you must get saved with the Lord Jesus to see the mansions that Jesus has prepared for his saints in the kingdom of God. You may see 10000 beautiful things in this world, but the new Jerusalem that displays unspeakable glory that Paul and Abraham as pilgrims and sojourners caught a glimpse of shall never be seen by a person unless he or she gets saved with the Lord Jesus. You might view the spectacular fading crowns that Napoleon and Caesar wore on this earth, but you must get saved with the Lord Jesus to receive your own incorruptible crown that will never perish away.

Notice the two pictures above of Niagara Falls and Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna, Austria. Schonbrunn Palace is considered one of the most expensive palaces on the earth and Niagara Falls is considered to be the most phenomenal waterfall to be seen in any nation. But the sights in the kingdom of God are more spectacular and glorious than Niagara Falls and Schonbrunn Palace. Paul said that words can not describe the beauty of the kingdom of God that is infinitely more magnificent than the most scenic place on this earth. 2 Corinthians 12:4 says How that he (Paul) was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

DL Moody said that you might see beautiful rivers and waterfalls like Niagara Falls on this earth, but you must get saved with the Lord Jesus to see the pure, clear, crystal, river of water of life proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. You might visit kings and queens in palaces on this earth, but you must get saved with the Lord Jesus to see Jesus the King of kings and Lord of lords. You may be invited to many marriage feasts on this earth, but you will never attend the marriage supper of the Lamb during the millennium unless you get saved with the Lord Jesus.

Notice the picture above and how the Lord Jesus rules nature when the fig tree withered at just a word from Jesus. Jesus is God and rules nature. When God in Genesis 1 spoke to nature, nature obeyed God. God said let there be light and there was light. God said Let the waters bring forth and the waters brought forth abundantly. Jesus is God because the Lord Jesus spoke to nature like the fig tree and the fig tree withered and obeyed the Word of God who is Jesus.

The story about the picture above is at Mark 11:13. And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, He came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when He came to it, He found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it. Now notice the result at Mark 11:20 that says And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

Jesus is God and can speak to nature and have nature obey His word. The wind and sea obeyed the word of the Lord Jesus at Mark 4:39. And He (Jesus) arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And He said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him? The Lord Jesus spoke to devils, and the devils fled. The Lord Jesus spoke to the grave when He said Lazarus come forth, and the grave obeyed Him and Lazarus was resurrected from the grave.

If nature obeys the word of Jesus, christians should also believe and obey every word of the KJV bible spoken by the Lord Jesus. 1 Samuel 15:22 says And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. Like nature, let's immediately obey and respond to the Word of God's instructions to receive blessings from the Lord Jesus who is the Word of God.

Genesis 15:1 tells us that the Lord Jesus can protect christians better than anything on this earth. After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. DL Moody said that I'd rather have Jesus the God of heaven as my Protector than all the armies of this world. Romans 8:31 says What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? Hebrews 13:6 says So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. Isaiah 59:19 says So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard (called Jehovah Nissi where the devil will disappear and flee quickly) against him.

I pray in Jesus name that this bible study blesses multitudes everywhere with great joy, peace, and strength. Only Jesus Can Be Trusted

Be like the little children in the picture above who realize that only Jesus can be trusted in this life. Jesus said at Matthew 19:14 Suffer (allow) little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for such is the kingdom of heaven. Like the little children pictured above making Jesus their only hope, let's all remember Psalm 121:1. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. Hebrews 13:6 says So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Our own strength and thoughts will fail and only faith daily in Jesus Christ crucified with our hearts will deliver us from trouble. The Word of God tells us that we can not trust in ourselves. 2 Corinthians 1:9 says But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead. But whosoever trusts in the Lord Jesus will overcome any trouble. Proverbs 3:5 says Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel (calm your nerves), and marrow to thy bones (strengthening your body like a cup of refreshing cold water).

Proverbs 25:25 tells us that the cup of refreshing cold water is the gospel that strengthens us when we trust the Lord Jesus to fix any problem. As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country. The good news is the gospel (the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ noted at 1 Corinthians 15:1-4) that is so refreshing as a cup of cold water to a thirsty soul. Romans 1:16 says For I am not ashamed of the gospel (good news) of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Only Jesus can be trusted to overcome the devil and any trouble. DL Moody wrote that friends can not be trusted because friends can die, leave us, turn against us, and not deliver us. People that trust in becoming famous with a popular reputation can be disappointed by a slandering tongue. Wealth, gold, and silver can not be trusted because money and riches will take wings and fly away. Proverbs 23:5 says Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven. Ezekiel 7:19 says They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.

Get saved and trust the Lord Jesus to overcome the devil and any trouble in this world. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. Numbers 23:19 tells us that when we trust the Lord Jesus, Jesus will fix all our problems and deliver us from the devil and this troubled world. God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?

People change, places change, families change, and nature changes. But the Lord Jesus never changes and will always be with you to bless you and overcome any trouble. Malachi 3:6 says For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. Psalm 16:8 says I have set the Lord always before me: because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Hebrews 13:5 says Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He (the Lord Jesus) hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Notice the picture above where Elisha was rewarded with a double portion of the Spirit because he continued to seek a blessing from Elijah. Elisha received a double portion of the Spirit from Elijah's mantle that fell to the ground from the chariot of fire that took Elijah to heaven. When we trust in Jesus, we should say with Elisha at 2 Kings 2:2 As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee Lord Jesus.

Notice the cities at 2 Kings 2:2 that Elisha had to travel through to receive a double portion of the Spirit. First Gilgal (rolling wheel) where saints must keep moving daily for Jesus and not be lazy doing nothing. Second Bethel (the house of God) where saints must fellowship with other believers at their local church to receive power to overcome the devil and this troubled world. Third Jericho (moon or a dark place) where saints must ignore the dark persecutions in their lives while they continually praise Jesus. Finally Jordan (descending) where saints must be willing to humble themselves so that Jesus can exalt them in due season. Proverbs 18:12 says Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.

Be like Elisha and keep seeking the Lord Jesus daily with your whole heart to find and receive blessings. Jeremiah 29:13 says And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Notice Job's faith and determination to trust in the Lord Jesus when his own wife told him to curse God and die while Job suffered with boils all over his body scraping the boils off with a potsherd. Job said at Job 13:15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in Him. 2 Timothy 1:12 says For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day. Philippians 1:6 says Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

When we continue to trust Jesus to overcome the devil and any trouble, we will be rewarded with peace, good health, and many blessings. Job 22:21 says Acquaint now thyself with Him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. Psalm 9:10 says And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. Isaiah 26:3 says Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.

When anyone trusts Jesus for salvation they will not be rejected because Jesus saves whosoever takes the water of life (Jesus) freely. Revelation 22:17 says And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever (note the bible says whosoever and this speaks to anyone who reads this bible study forevermore) will, let him take the water of life freely. God's Word is true and the Lord Jesus will not cast away anyone that comes to Him for everlasting life and eternal blessings. John 6:37 says All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

It doesn't matter who you are or where you are reading this bible study. You will be saved if you repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. Jesus will save whosoever comes to Him by faith. Romans 10:13 says For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Like King David say Psalm 116:13. I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord (Jesus). When Brother Bob gets to the kingdom of God, I hope to see all the souls that were saved in the many nations that read Brother Bob's book for Jesus. This gives Brother Bob's life fulfillment and causes Brother Bob to rejoice while he preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ everywhere on this earth. I must rejoice and testify that Brother Bob's book for Jesus is now being seen by the Aborigines in the Australian outback, the Indians in the Brazilian jungle, and the Eskimos in northern Manitoba Canada.

Notice some more blessings that christians receive when they trust Jesus to overcome the devil and this troubled world. Psalm 91:14 says Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. Jesus is so good and gives us much more than our requests. Psalm 21:4 says that when King David asked for life, King David received length of days for ever and ever. King David received much more than his request. Psalm 21:4 says He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.

Let's learn what is on the hem of the robe of our High priest Jesus. Did you know that pomegranates and golden bells pictured above were on the hem of the high priest's robe when the high priest went into the holy place to minister to receive mercy for the sins of the people? The high priest would shake his robe making the golden bells ring to let the people know that the high priest was alive. The Lord Jesus is our high priest forever and has sprinkled His own blood on the mercy seat in heaven to remove our sins. The golden bells are ringing for ever in heaven because Jesus our High Priest has arisen from the dead and is alive for ever in the kingdom of God.

Exodus 28:33 speaks about the picture above. And beneath upon the hem of it thou shalt make pomegranates of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, round about the hem thereof; and bells of gold between them round about: A golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the hem of the robe round about. And it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and his sound shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before the Lord, and when he cometh out, that he die not.

And the good news is that Jesus who is our high priest for ever, unlike earthly priests of ancient times, constantly prays for all believers and saints to be blessed and overcome this world. Hebrews 7:25 says Wherefore He (the Lord Jesus) is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens.

God hears and answers righteous Jesus' prayers because James 5:16 says Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man (Jesus) availeth much. 1 Corinthians 1:30 tells us that Jesus is righteousness.

Notice the picture above of the father of the prodigal son running to his son and receiving him again into his family. Note that the father ran to the lost son who returned home. Like the prodigal son, get saved and come to Jesus. The Lord Jesus will run to you, save you, and bless you greatly. Luke 15:20 says And he (the prodigal son) arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry.

Be like the prodigal son and return to the Lord Jesus who will remove your sins and bless you with peace. Hosea 14:1 speaks about blessings you will receive when you return to the Lord Jesus. O Israel, return unto the Lord thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity. Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto Him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.

Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy. I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him. I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon. His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon. They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.

Jeremiah speaks about blessings you receive when you return to the Lord Jesus. Jeremiah 3:12 says Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the Lord; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the Lord, and I will not keep anger for ever. Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the Lord thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the Lord. Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion.

Women Honored Forever In Heaven

Let's learn about some faithful blessed women in the bible that are honored forever in heaven. Pictured above notice Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Susanna, and other women having the privilege of being remembered for blessing the Lord Jesus with substance, wealth, and goods. What an honor to have provided money, food, and clothing personally to the Lord Jesus. Luke 8:2 says And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto Him of their substance (wealth and goods).

We can learn a lesson from Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Susanna about the importance of blessing people around us in need. Hebrews 13:2 says Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. When Jesus tells you to bless a stranger with food, clothing, and money, remember you could be blessing an angel. Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Susanna were blessing the Lord Jesus who is God and greater than an angel.

For all women reading this bible study, please meditate on 1 Timothy 2:9 that gives directions on how women should live holy lives for Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:9 says In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array. Let's study the Greek definitions for the words modest, shamefacedness, and sobriety to learn how women should behave while they live holy for Jesus. Women should dress modestly or decently with good behavior. Women should display shamefacedness and consider the poor widows and orphans. Women should display sobriety or self control with soberness and soundness of mind.

For my next picture above of a blessed woman that that is honored forever in heaven notice Mary Magdalene blessing the Lord Jesus with spikenard to preserve Jesus' body for burial.

The next blessed woman honored forever in heaven pictured above is the little maid that took time to care for Naaman, telling Naaman's wife to have Naaman go to Elisha the prophet to be healed of leprosy. 2 Kings 5:2 says And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel, a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife. And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria. for he would recover him of his leprosy. And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is in the land of Israel. And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.

We can learn a lesson from the little maid pictured above. The little maid did what is stated at 1 Timothy 2:1 that says I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour. The little maid's kindness to Naaman allowed Naaman to take the advice of the prophet Elisha and dip seven times in the Jordan river to heal and remove his leprosy.

If you feel insignificant like the little maid, be encouraged and let your light shine for Jesus. You might be the only hope on this earth for someone to get saved with the Lord Jesus. 2 Corinthians 3:2 says Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men. Jude 22 says And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Witness Jesus everywhere and tell people to get saved. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

Let's all be wise like the little maid, showing kindness to everyone around us in the world, thereby winning souls to Jesus. Colossians 4:5 says Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Proverbs 11:30 says The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

The next blessed woman honored forever in heaven is the widow of Zarephath pictured above. This widow of Zarephath blessed the prophet Elijah and gave Elijah her last piece of bread and last cup of water. We should be like this widow woman and bless the poor around us with food and money. Matthew 10:42 says And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward. Because the widow of Zarephath blessed Elijah, she was rewarded where her barrel of meal wasted not and her cruse of oil failed not during a famine.

The story about the above picture is at 1 Kings 17:9 that says Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee. So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink. And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.

And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son. For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth. And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

We can all learn a lesson from the widow of Zarephath. Jesus told us to not be like the heathen and worry about our daily needs of food, shelter, and clothing. Like the widow of Zarephath, let's all keep blessing the poor around us and Jesus will always create food and our needs out of nowhere and keep us alive in peace on this earth. After the widow obeyed Elisha's instructions, the Lord Jesus created oil out of nowhere to help the widow pay her creditors and save her sons. The Lord Jesus placed money in a fish's mouth to pay taxes for Peter and Jesus. The Lord Jesus took two fish and five loaves of bread and fed five thousand with leftovers after the five thousand ate.

Matthew 6:31 says Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be addded unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Wasn't it a blessing that Elijah trusted the instruction of the Lord Jesus and believed that an old widow woman at Zarephath could keep him alive. It does not make any sense to our natural minds that a little old lady could keep us alive. Jesus honored Elijah's faith when Elijah believed that a little old lady could keep him alive and miraculously trusted God to make food appear out of nowhere.

Like Elijah, take God at his Word and obey the instructions of the Word of God, and I promise you that Jesus will sustain, bless, and eternally preserve you with peace in this troubled world. Psalm 55:22 says Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

The next blessed woman honored forever in heaven pictured above is a poor widow who threw only two mites into the treasury. This widow woman was willing to give everything she had to bless Jesus. Jesus let the rich people know that this widow woman gave much more than all the offerings given by the rich people.

Mark 12:41 says And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing (only 3/8 of a cent). And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

Like this poor widow woman, go the extra mile to bless the Lord Jesus and poor widows and needy orphans in this world. This poor widow woman truly fulfilled Matthew 16:24 that says Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul.

Brother Bob like the widow woman pictured above decided to follow Jesus and bless the poor. Brother Bob left his Jewish family and millions of dollars to serve the Lord Jesus and write preachbrotherbob blog. And praise you Lord Jesus that these writings for Jesus on a little computer in a one bedroom apartment in poor Reynoldsburg, Ohio are blessing half a million people all over this earth and souls are being saved and will live for ever in peace in the kingdom of God.

The next woman honored forever in heaven is Pilate's wife who feared the Lord Jesus but unfortunately her husband Pilate ignored her advice to have nothing to do with Jesus. Matthew 27:19 says When he (Pontius Pilate) was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of Him. Unfortunately, Pilate refused his wife's request and sentenced Jesus to be crucified.

A True Story About Mount Pilatus
Where Pontius Pilate Was Buried

Did you know that a mountain in Switzerland is named after Pontius Pilate? Pontius Pilate was a Roman governor or prefect (a regional governor for Rome) of Judaea from AD 26-36. He washed his hands when sentencing Jesus Christ to be crucified. He also set the rebel leader Barabbas free.

Centuries later, christianized Rome said that it was unacceptable to have Pilate's dead body buried in the same city as the Apostle Peter. So the christians in Rome took Pilates' dead body and threw it into the Tiber river in Rome. Pilate's dead body caused the waters of the Tiber river to become so troubled that the christians moved Pilate's dead body to the Rhone river which also became troubled.

Because the Tiber and Rhone rivers were so troubled by Pilate's body, the christians decided to take Pilate's dead body and bury it on the top of a high mountain in Switzerland named after him called Mount Pilatus. The local people that live in villages around Mount Pilatus blame a tiny lake surrounding Mount Pilatus for the terrible storms in the area. Devastating thunderstorms occur as soon as ripples appear in this tiny lake around Mount Pilatus.

People say that the restless ghost of Pontius Pilate creates the ripples in this tiny lake around Mount Pilatus that causes terrible storms. People around Mount Pilatus say that every Good Friday the ghost of Pontius Pilate rises to wash the blood of Jesus from his hands in this tiny lake around Mount Pilatus. Another legend says that Mount Pilatus looks like the belly of a large man (Pilate) lying on his back. Look closely at the above picture to see the large belly of a man (Pilate) lying on his back with his arms folded by his head. Therefore this mountain is named after Pontius Pilate.

Also of note, Mount Pilatus is a large massif (defined as a compact group of mountains separate from other mountains) in central Switzerland. It overlooks the city of Lucerne and offers an excellent view of Lake Lucerne. The mountain is pocketed with many natural and man made caves. It is a fortress with many hidden gun emplacements and fortified weather stations all of which are still in service.

No Bad Thoughts Or Bad Memories In The Kingdom Of God

When christians arrive at the kingdom of God, they will have no bad thoughts or bad memories of this world. Isaiah 65:17 says For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. Revelation 21:4 says And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. There are no bad thoughts in the kingdom of God because the devil is not in the kingdom of God. Revelation 21:27 says And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie (the devil who is a liar is not in the kingdom of God): but they which are written in the Lambs' book of life.

Christians in the kingdom of God will forget the bad memories of this troubled world like a woman who forgets her troubles after she gives birth to a baby. Once the baby is born the woman is so happy to see the child that she forgets all her sorrow in this world. John 16:21 says A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you. Just a glimpse of the Lord Jesus in the kingdom of God will make all the bad memories of this life instantly disappear because the christians will receive everlasting joy for ever. Isaiah 35:10 says And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Notice the picture above of Lot fleeing from Sodom and Gomorrah with his two daughters where his wife turns into a pillar of salt. In the kingdom of God christians will no longer have to be vexed by the filthy conversation of sinners in this world. 2 Peter 2:7 says And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds. Like Lot, christians in the kingdom of God will be delivered from the filthy conversation of this wicked world.

Bad memories in this world will never be remembered in the kingdom of God. There will be no bad thoughts of darkness or night in the kingdom of God. The Lord Jesus is the eternal light in the kingdom of God where darkness and night never exist. Christians don't have to sleep or get tired in the kingdom of God because light and day continually exist for ever. Revelation 22:5 says And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

Rejoice about the light that exists during the millennium when Jesus rules this earth during the kingdom of heaven. When the Lord Jesus is on this earth during the millennium, Isaiah 30:26 tells us that the sun will shine like the light of seven days and the moon will shine like the sun. Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the Lord bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound. Zechariah 14:7 says But it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.

Rejoice about the light that exists with Jesus for ever in the kingdom of God after the millennium. Isaiah 60:19 says The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory. The sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended. Revelation 21:23 says And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. Christians will have perfect glorified bodies for ever living in Jesus' eternal light. Christians' lives in the kingdom of God will be infinitely better than the best time they experienced on this earth. Hallelujah.

Notice the picture above of Elijah in a cave feeling like he is alone with no friends. 1 Kings 19:10 says And he (Elijah) said, I have been very jealous for the Lord God of Hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away. Rejoice because soon in the kingdom of God christians will have innumerable friends and angels that worship the Lord Jesus for ever in peace and joy. Elijah and christians will not be depressed and feel alone in the kingdom of God. Hebrews 12:22 says But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels.

If you feel alone, depressed, and rejected by this world, be encouraged because the Lord Jesus will always be your friend for ever. Jesus said at John 15:14  Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. Jesus truly is a faithful friend that sticketh closer than any brother in this world.

Proverbs 18:24 says A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend (Jesus) that sticketh closer than a brother. Hebrews 13:5 says Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He (Jesus) hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Notice the picture above of Delilah removing Samson's hair, making Samson weak because Samson became a friend of the world. Many people say I wonder how much of the world I can enjoy while I still serve Jesus. Brother Bob says correction to this saying. We should say How much Jesus can I enjoy while I deny the world. A praying man will quit sinning but a sinning man will quit praying. Persecuted piety is better than prospering profaneness. It's easy to float downstream with the world's current. But decide today to live for Jesus and go upstream against the world's current. You know that you are growing with Jesus when you become less like the world. An old Japanese missionary used to say that the duty of every christian in any age is to discern the spirit of the age and then to go diametrically opposed to it. James 4:4 says Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Samson was so full of the world that he didn't realize that the Spirit of God had left him. It's sad when people choose the pleasures of this world instead of getting saved with Jesus and become so lost that they can't even pray for themselves. Compare the following two scriptures and make a choice to get saved with Jesus today. Hebrews 11:25 says Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. Psalm 16:11 says Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence (Jesus) is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore. Choose pleasures forevermore with Jesus and get saved instead of sinful pleasures that only last for a season.

Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning,
Confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel,
That Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again

Judges 16:19 speaks about Samson and Delilah and says And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him. And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the Lord was departed from him.

BEWARE OF EVIL WOMEN LIKE DELILAH
DON'T FALL ASLEEP ON THE KNEES OF A WHORE

When Samson (a very strong man) lost his strength
Delilah was the first person to afflict him

She wined him, she dined him, she bind him,
she blind him, and then she grind him

He was so weak
that a whore gave him a whooping
His old hen was the first one to give him a peck

Don't be like Samson and allow a little sin to take you to a place where you can't pray or find the Lord Jesus. Samson didn't realize that the Lord Jesus had departed from him. Galatians 5:9 says a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. Lets all daily deny even the smallest sin and live sanctified, holy, and consecrated lives to Jesus while we remember daily Jesus Christ crucified with our hearts. 2 Corinthians 7:1 says Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Ecclesiastes 10:1 says Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour: so doth a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom and honour.  Deny sin because one little fly or one little sin can ruin a person's reputation. But if we sin, the blood of Jesus can cleanse us from all sin, remove guilt, and wash a christian whiter than snow. Revelation 1:5 says And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood. 1 John 1:7 says But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another; and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Another example in the bible of people that became friends of the world and lost strength was the people of Ephraim. Hosea 7:8 says Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned. Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth it not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knoweth not. Ephraim, like Samson, didn't realize that the Lord had departed and lost strength because Ephraim tried to mix into the world. 1 John 2:15 says Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Instead of trying to be like the world and enjoy its pleasures for a season, everyone should be concerned about where they will spend eternity. People study four years for a career that lasts around fifty years but they won't take five minutes to decide where they will spend eternity. 2 Corinthians 6:2 says For He (Jesus) saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. Matthew 10:28 says And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him (Jesus) which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Notice the picture above of corn and oil. The corn and oil are praising Jesus. The bible tells us that nature, the earth, and the heavens continuously praise the Lord Jesus. Hosea 2:21 says And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the Lord, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth; And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel (what God has sown). Notice the blessed progression of praise to the Lord Jesus at Hosea 2:21. First Jezreel and all that God has sown praise Jesus. Then the corn, the wine, and the oil praise Jesus. Then the earth praises Jesus and finally all the heavens praise Jesus.

Psalm 148 lists how nature praises the Lord Jesus. When you read this list, join with nature and worship the King of kings and our Blessed Saviour who is the Lord Jesus. The following list of animals, plants, planets, and people praise the Lord Jesus. Heavens, heights, angels, hosts, sun, moon, stars of light, heavens of heavens, waters that be above the heavens, dragons, deeps, fire, hail, snow, vapours, stormy wind, mountains, hills, fruitful trees, cedars, beasts, all cattle, creeping things, flying fowl, kings, all people, princes, all judges, young men, maidens, old men, children, and let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.

Job said that we can learn from beasts, fowls, and fishes how to praise the Lord Jesus. Job 12:7 says But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this? When the birds sing, the birds are praising Jesus. When the flowers blossom, the flowers are praising Jesus. And finally when the fish jump in the ocean, the fish are leaping for joy and praising Jesus.

The Small But Mighty Weapons Of Jesus

The bible speaks about the small but mighty weapons of Jesus. 2 Corinthians 10:4 says For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds. Ephesians 6:12 says For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Small but mighty weapons in history defeated the devil. Instead of swords, spears, and guns, everyday ordinary objects like empty pitchers, lamps, trumpets, a sling and five smooth stones, an ox goad, the jawbone of an ass, and the Word of God defeated the devil.

Gideon relied on the Lord Jesus to give him a victory and not the power of a large army, spears, and swords. Gideon at first had 32000 men to fight against a great multitude of Midianites. The Lord Jesus humbled Gideon and told Gideon that 32000 men was too large an army to fight against the Midianites, lest Israel vaunt themselves against the Lord. Judges 7:2 says And the Lord said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me.

The instructions the Lord Jesus gave to Gideon are stated in Judges 7:3 that says Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people 22000; and there remained 10000. Now Gideon only had 10000 men to fight the great multitude of Midianites. But God let Gideon realize that the Lord Jesus and not Gideon was going to defeat the Midianites and also said that 10000 men was too many men to fight the Midianites.

Look at the picture above and the instructions that the Lord Jesus gave to Gideon at Judges 7:5: So he brought down the people unto the water: and the Lord said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink. And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were 300 men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water.

Jesus told Gideon to just use the 300 men that lapped the water and put their hand to their mouth to fight the Midianites and 9700 men went home. It's interesting to note that Jesus did not use the lazy people who bowed down (only looking at the water and not attentive to their surroundings) but used the alert men who kept looking around for the enemy while they lapped the water putting their hand to their mouth.

Finally to make sure Jesus got the glory in Gideon's victory, Jesus told Gideon to only use trumpets, empty pitchers, and lamps instead of swords and spears to defeat the Midianites. When Gideon obeyed the instructions of the Lord, blowing trumpets and showing lamps that were inside the pitchers that were broken with just 300 men, the Midianites were defeated by the Lord Jesus.

Notice the picture above of another biblical hero named David who trusted in the name of the Lord Jesus and used five smooth stones that Brother Bob calls JESUS with a sling instead of Saul's armour, helmet of brass, and a coat of mail to defeat the giant Goliath. 1 Samuel 17:38 says And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet of brass upon his head; and he armed him with a coat of mail. And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to go; for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him. And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine. 1 Samuel 17:45 further states Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.

David won the victory over Goliath and used a small sling and five smooth stones to kill Goliath instead of a sword and armour to defeat the giant Goliath. If people around you who persecute you daily seem like giants, remember like David we can trust in the name of the Lord Jesus to give us victory over any giant in our lives. Mark 16:17 says And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name (Jesus) shall they cast out devils. Like David, place the name JESUS on your front door, back door, on your refrigerator, freezer, computer, cellphone, and everywhere in your home to defeat the devil. Brother Bob has had the name JESUS on his front door for 40 years and nothing in Brother Bob's home was stolen or harmed for 40 years.

Notice the two pictures above of Shamgar and Samson and remember that the Lord Jesus can create weapons from small ordinary objects and make the devil flee and give victory to his saints. Shamgar just used a simple ox goad (an instrument to prod and poke oxen) to defeat 600 men. Samson only used a simple jawbone of an ass to defeat an army of 1000 Philistines. Judges 3:31 says And after him was Shamgar the son of Anath, which slew of the Philistines six hundred men with an ox goad: and he also delivered Israel. Judges 15:15 says And he (Samson) found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith. If you feel that you only have a little to work with to witness for Jesus, I claim in Jesus name that you will be able to use these small blessings to effectively witness Jesus to multitudes of people everywhere.

Brother Bob must testify now. Brother Bob lives in a poor neighborhood in Reynoldsburg, Ohio with an old five year old computer out of a little one bedroom apartment. Yet Brother Bob is using what Jesus has provided (the tiny apartment and the small computer in poor little Reynoldsburg, Ohio) to witness about the Lord Jesus to half a million people in hundreds of nations over the internet. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. Ecclesiastes 11:1 says Cast thy bread (the Word of God) upon the waters (preach Jesus everywhere over the waters of this earth by the internet): for thou shalt find it after many days (see all the lost souls saved in heaven because you witnessed Jesus everywhere on the earth).

Notice the picture above of a little girl meditating on the Word of God. We should be like this little girl and every day take time to meditate on the Word of God and receive life. The bible promises that if anyone daily meditates on the Word of God day and night, whatsoever that person does shall prosper. Psalm 1:2 says But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in His law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth His fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

If you meditate on the Word of God, you will receive life and peace. Acts 20:32 says And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the Word of His grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. First, the Word of God builds us up. Psalm 119:130 says The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. Psalm 119:11 says Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Second, the Word of God gives us wisdom and stops us from sinning. Since Jesus is the Word of God according to Revelation 19:13, we get wisdom from Jesus and the Word of God. 1 Corinthians 1:30 tells us that the Lord Jesus is wisdom. But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.

Romans 15:4 promises peace and comfort if we meditate on the Word of God. Romans 15:4 says For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. The Word of God also causes us to have joy and rejoice. Jeremiah 15:16 says Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts. Finally the Word of God helps us all grow. 1 Peter 2:2 says As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. Job 23:12 says Neither have I gone back from the commandment of His lips; I have esteemed the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.

Colossians 3:16 says Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Daily meditate on the Word of God and listen to and sing hymns and spiritual songs to receive strength from the Lord Jesus. When you work at a job, listen to spiritual songs and meditate on the Word of God and receive peace and strength daily to perform any job.

Notice the picture above of the Lord Jesus telling the devil at Matthew 4:4 It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. And look what happened when Jesus spoke the Word of God to the devil saying It Is Written. Matthew 4:11 says Then the devil leaveth Him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto Him. I claim in Jesus name when we meditate on the Word of God, the devil will leave us and angels will come and minister unto us.

Jesus said at Mark 9:23 If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Now remember to believe and have faith one must hear the Word of God and then all things are possible for us. Romans 10:17 says So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

It's interesting to note that the jailer who guarded Paul and Silas got saved after he heard the Word of God and received faith to believe in the Lord Jesus. Acts 16:30 says And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. (Now notice the next verse where the Word of God was preached to the jailer to help him get saved and believe). And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

Notice the picture above of John the Baptist who received all of his theological training from God in the wilderness of Judaea and not from man at a seminary. 1 John 2:27 says But, the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him.

The Holy Ghost anointing and not man's education qualifies anyone to preach Jesus everywhere. I remember one time a man told Brother Bob he would not listen to my preaching until I got a DD (Doctor of Divinity). I told the man that Brother Bob already had his DD because Brother Bob is a devil disturber qualified by the Holy Ghost to preach the gospel to all nations with a PHD (A Pentecostal hairdoo) along with the fact that Brother Bob has a BA and is born again. Even Jesus was told by Nathaniel that He was not qualified to preach. Nathaniel doubted Jesus and said at John 1:46 about the Lord Jesus Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth?

Like John the Baptist pictured above who was trained in the wilderness of Judaea from the Lord Jesus instead of any man, the apostle Paul also received his training from the Lord Jesus in the desert of Arabia and not from any man or the scholars of Jerusalem. This is stated at Galatians 1:15 that says But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by His grace, To reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.

Brother Bob agrees with John the Baptist and the apostle Paul and tells everyone that I'd rather be trained by the Lord Jesus and the Holy Ghost instead of any man in this world because the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. 1 Corinthians 3:19 says For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. Let all those who forevermore read this bible study choose to be taught by the true wisdom who is Jesus stated at 1 Corinthians 1:30.

I pray in Jesus name that this bible study blesses multitudes everywhere with great joy, peace, and strength. Resurrection To A Sure Reward

Notice the picture above about the hope that the dead in Christ will be the first to rise to the clouds to be with the Lord Jesus in the air during the rapture. 1 Thessalonians 4:16 says For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. 1 Corinthians 15:51 says Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

The prophet Isaiah spoke about the picture above at Isaiah 26:19: Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead. The prophet Hosea also spoke about the picture above at Hosea 13:14: I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.

Praise the Lord Jesus for destroying death by dying on the cross of Calvary for you. Hebrews 2:14 says Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil. 1 Corinthians 15:25 says For He (Jesus) must reign, till He hath put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 1 Corinthians 15:55 says O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus said at John 8:52 If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. DL Moody described leaving this earth to be with the Lord Jesus as just a shadow of death. Remember to make a shadow you need the Light Jesus. Try it once and go into a dark basement and in complete darkness there is no shadow. But when you turn on a light, then a shadow appears. Jesus is that light that is with you forever even in thick darkness. Death is just a shadow and you can walk through a shadow and feel no harm. Isn't it comforting that the Lord Jesus dwells in the thick darkness. 2 Chronicles 6:1 says Then said Solomon, The Lord hath said that He would dwell in the thick darkness. Psalm 139:11 says If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

A Blessed Saying About The Rapture

I'm not looking for the undertaker, I'm looking for the uppertaker (Jesus Christ)
I'm not looking for a hole in the ground, I'm looking for a hole in the sky
I'm not looking for the clods, I'm looking for the clouds
I'm not looking for a sign, I'm listening for a sound

What a wonderful day when we see all the graves of the dead in Christ empty with the dead in Christ rising to to the clouds to be with the Lord Jesus in the air during the rapture. Don't miss that blessed open air campmeeting with the Lord Jesus during the rapture when all the christians will be caught up to be with the Lord Jesus in the air. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

Bible Verses About The Dead In Christ Leaving Their Graves
To Be Caught Up With The Lord Jesus Forever In Heaven

1 Corinthians 6:14 that says And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by His own power. John 6:39 says And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which He hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of Him that sent me, that every one that seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. Romans 8:11 says But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.

One day soon all the people that have died, will come out of their graves to face either the resurrection of life or the resurrection of damnation. I pray in Jesus name anyone who forevermore reads this bible study will get saved with the Lord Jesus so they can face a resurrection of life. John 5:28 says Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Daniel 12:2 says And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. Philippians 3:20 says For our conversation (citizenship) is in heaven: from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body, according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself.

Christians should live holy and sanctified lives so they can be alert, awake, and sober when the Lord Jesus returns to take them home to the kingdom of God. Ephesians 5:14 says Wherefore He saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly (diligently), not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Romans 13:11 says And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering (fornication and adultery) and wantonness (unbridled lust), not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.

2 Corinthians 7:1 says Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 1 Peter 1:15 says But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. Luke 21:34 says And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

There is a sure reward now on this earth and at the bema judgment seat of Christ for all the christians who overcome persecutions and the troubles of this evil world while they serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Luke 6:22 says Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets. 1 Peter 4:14 says If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part He is evil spoken of, but on your part He is glorified. 1 Peter 5:10 says But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

Mark 10:29 also speaks of a sure reward christians receive for serving the Lord Jesus. Mark 10:29 says And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, there is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

Luke 6:21 says Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh. Psalm 126:5 says They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. Psalm 30:5 says For His anger endureth but a moment: in His favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

If christians remember and bless the poor, there is a sure reward in the kingdom of God for our kindness to poor people. Luke 14:13 says But, when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: and thou shalt be blessed; for they can not recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just. Proverbs 19:17 says He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

If you are being persecuted for serving the Lord Jesus and need strength read these next two bible verses and when you read them, meditate on them, and in Jesus name great strength will fill all your lives. Romans 8:18 says For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 2 Corinthians 4:17 says For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

Here's some more blessed scriptures to strengthen christians that are being persecuted because of their faith in Jesus. Psalm 9:18 says For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever. Arise, O Lord; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight. Put them in fear, O Lord: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah. Hebrews 10:36 says For ye have need of patience, that after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and He that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

Philippians 1:6 says Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Acts 24:15 says And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust. And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.
