Like Rebekah Be An Obedient Bride Going To A Wedding

Like Rebekah Be An Obedient Bride Going To A Wedding
Genesis 24 tells the story of how Abraham sent an unnamed servant
traveling to a far country to find a bride named Rebekah for his son Isaac
This Story Is An Example Of How God The Father Saves Lost Sinners
God the Father sends the Holy Spirit into this far country world
to offer salvation to lost sinners who can become the bride church
by accepting salvation and a wedding with Jesus (God the Son)

The 4 Major Characters in Genesis 24
1) Abraham represents God The Father
2) Isaac represents God the Son (Jesus)
3) The unnamed servant represents the Holy Spirit seeking a bride for Isaac
4) Rebekah represents the bride church married to Isaac (a type of Jesus)

The story of how Rebekah became Isaac's bride begins with Abraham seeking a bride for his son Isaac. Abraham tells his servant at Genesis 24:4 But thou shalt go unto my country and to my kindred and take a wife unto my son Isaac. Notice that it was God the Father's plan (Abraham's plan) to get a bride for His Son Jesus (represented by Isaac). God the Father represented by Abraham offers salvation by the Holy Spirit servant to lost sinners (marriage of the church to Jesus represented by Isaac) and then sinners like Rebekah need to accept or reject this offer of salvation and marriage to Jesus. Jesus stated this plan at John 6:37; All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Right now the Holy Spirit is offering salvation through Brother Bob to anyone reading this. Be like Rebekah and choose to accept salvation as the bride church of Jesus and accept salvation from God. Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again. God the Father chose His Son Jesus to be a living stone that offers salvation to the bride church that become lively stones saved by trusting Jesus' finished work at the cross of Calvary. This is stated at 1 Peter 2:3 that says If so be ye have tasted that the Lord (Jesus) is gracious; To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious. Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Like Rebekah Be A Pure Clean Bride Church To Jesus
To All Single Women Reading This
Note The Instructions Below To Be A Pure Clean Bride For Jesus

1) It's better to be single and look for a man all day
than to get married and look for him all night
2) It's better to be an old maid than wish you were an old maid
3) Don't be a single woman that screams at a mouse
but gets into a car with a wolf

How The Servant Found Rebekah To Be Isaac's Bride

The servant's test to find the bride Rebekah for Isaac is stated at Genesis 24:14; And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink, and she shall say Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also; let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac, and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master.

Rebekah satisfied this test to be Isaac's bride by giving water to the servant and his ten thirsty camels. Note that one camel needs 26 gallons of water for one drink. Wow Rebekah was moving fast and carried 260 gallons of water to satisfy ten thirsty camels. The servant was amazed with wonder at Rebekah and realized that she was the bride for Isaac.

Note also that Rebekah was a pure clean bride for Isaac. Like Rebekah, when lost sinners get saved, they get washed by the blood of Jesus and become the pure clean bride church married to Jesus. This is stated at Ephesians 5:25: Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it. That He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word. That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones. This is a great mystery; but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

The Servant Told Rebekah How Wealthy And Rich Isaac Was
God The Father Is Telling Lost Sinners To Get Saved Because
Jesus Is Very Wealthy With Infinite Riches

The servant told Rebekah that she should become Isaac's bride because Isaac was very wealthy with great riches at Genesis 24:35; And the Lord hath blessed my master greatly; and he is become great, and he hath given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses. Like Rebekah, God is telling lost sinners to get saved and become the bride of Christ because Jesus is the richest man ever that offers peace and strength forever. The Lord Jesus explains His riches at Psalm 50:10 saying For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountains; and the wild beasts of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell thee; for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

Before Rebekah met Isaac, the servant gave Rebekah a golden earring and two bracelets (Genesis 24:22). Like Rebekah, before saved saints meet Jesus, the Holy Spirit will bless saints with exceeding riches of peace, health, and blessings on this earth. You don't have to wait to get to heaven to enjoy heaven's blessings. Ephesians 3:20 promises Now unto Him (Jesus) that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

Like Ruth who got blessed on earth by her kinsman redeemer Boaz (a type of Jesus), before saved saints meet Jesus in heaven, the Holy Spirit will bless them with many handfuls of blessings on earth to get a taste of heaven's glory. Boaz told his workers to bless Ruth on this earth at Ruth 2:16; And let fall also some of the handfuls of purpose for her, and leave them, that she may glean them, and rebuke her not.

Like Rebekah Don't Let Anyone (Including Your Family Or Friends)
Hinder You From Following Jesus Unto Salvation

Rebekah's family tried to hinder her from traveling with the servant to become Isaac's bride. Genesis 24:55 says And her brother and her mother said (to the servant), Let the damsel abide with us a few days at the least ten; after that she shall go; And he said unto them, Hinder me not, seeing the Lord hath prospered my way; send me away that I may go to my master. And they said, We will call the damsel, and enquire at her mouth. And they called Rebekah, and said unto her, Wilt thou go with this man? And she said, I will go. Like Rebekah, don't let anything (your family or friends) hinder you from following Jesus. Don't let Galatians 5:7 be a witness against you; Ye did run well; Who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth. Obey the truth (Jesus and His Word) always and let nothing hinder you from serving God.

Like Rebekah, choose to follow the Holy Spirit and Jesus instead of trying to please your family and friends. Only when we are in the perfect will of God following Jesus instead of trying to follow and please our family and friends can Jesus bless us. Jesus said at Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. Jesus also said at Matthew 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Be like Rebekah and Brother Bob and leave everything (family and relatives for Jesus) noting the payoff at Mark 10:29; And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands for my sake and the gospel's. But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

Also note that Rebekah had the sole responsiblity of deciding to be Isaac's bride. Rebekah's family and friends did not make the decision of marriage for Rebekah. Rebekah made the decision to be Isaac's bride and told the servant I will go. Like Rebekah, each person has to decide whether to accept or reject Jesus. Paul told us at Philippians 2:12 each person has to work out their own salvation with fear and trembling. Brother Bob can't make the decision of salvation for other people. Brother Bob can only make the decision of salvation for himself (And glory to God, Brother Bob who is an orthodox Jew chose to be saved with Jesus in 1982 and is saved forever after leaving his entire family and millions of dollars).

Noah, Daniel, and Job had to work out their own salvation with fear and trembling and could only save themselves and not anyone else. Ezekial 14:14 says Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness saith the Lord God. Ezekial 14:20 says Though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live saith the Lord God, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness. Noah, Daniel, and Job represent how to overcome the world, the flesh, and the devil. Noah overcame the world by entering the ark (that represents Jesus) of safety from the troubled world. Daniel overcame the flesh and purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the king's meat. Job overcame the devil by praying for his friends and got twice as much as he had before (Job 42:10).

The Servant Holy Spirit Only Talked About Isaac To Rebekah
The Holy Spirit Only Talks About Jesus To Everyone

The servant (who represents the Holy Spirit) only talked about Isaac to Rebekah and her family. Likewise, the Holy Spirit only talks about Jesus when witnessing to everyone on this earth. Jesus said at John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, He shall testify of me (Jesus). Jesus also said at John 16:13 Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come. He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak; and He will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me (Jesus); for He shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Like the Holy Spirit, everyone should brag about Jesus. 1 Corinthians 1:31 says That according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. Only when the Lord Jesus is exalted and glorified, can everyone live together in peace. Jesus said at John 12:32 And I if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

While Rebekah Was Traveling On A Camel Through The Rough Desert
The Servant Holy Spirit Was Always With Her As A Comforter
While Saved Sinners Travel Through This Rough Wilderness World
The Holy Spirit Is Always With Them As A Comforter

Rebekah had to travel through the rough desert on a camel to get to Isaac. Rebekah's servant who was her Comforter was always with her on this journey. Like Rebekah, saved saints are traveling through this wilderness world with the Holy Spirit Comforter to always strengthen them on their journey to heaven with Jesus. Jesus comforts the saints at John 14:16 saying And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever.

Notice that a camel took Rebekah to Isaac. A camel is a symbol of resilience and adaptability able to survive the harshest conditions of the desert. Like Rebekah traveling on a camel through the desert to meet Isaac, saved saints need to travel through this rugged world to Jesus. On our journey to Jesus, like the camels, saints must remain resilient in the face of adversity, confront the unforeseen with tenacity, and find innovative means to traverse the obstacles we face.

While on this journey through this troubled world to our Lord Jesus, encourage yourself and say the following bible verses. 2 Corinthians 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

And sing the words below for I Feel Like Traveling On
Be encouraged with peace while you travel through this world to Jesus

My heavenly home is bright and fair; I feel like traveling on
Nor pain nor death can enter there; I feel like traveling on

Yes I feel like traveling on; I feel like traveling on
My heavenly home is bright and fair; I feel like traveling on

It's glittering towers the sun outshine; I feel like traveling on
That heavenly mansion shall be mine; I feel like traveling on

Let others seek a home below; I feel like traveling on
Which flames devour or waves oerflow; I feel like traveling on

The Lord has been so good to me; I feel like traveling on
Until that blessed home I see; I feel like traveling on

Isaac Went Out In The Field World To Meet His Bride Rebekah
Very Soon Jesus Is Coming In The Clouds To Meet His Bride Church

Isaac went out into the field world to meet his bride Rebekah. Genesis 24:63 says And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide; and he lifted up his eyes and saw, and behold the camels were coming. And Rebekah lifted up her eyes and when she saw Isaac, she lighted (defined as bowed down worshipping) off the camel. And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife, and he loved her. and Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.

Like Isaac, Jesus is coming soon to this world in the clouds to meet his bride church. Like Rebekah, when saved saints see Jesus in the clouds, they are going to bow down and worship the Lord Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 4:16 promises For the Lord (Jesus) Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

I have enjoyed writing this bible study today about Rebekah and Isaac. I pray in Jesus name that it blesses multitudes all over this earth with great peace, strength, and joy.
