Jesus Can Do The Impossible

Jesus Can Do The Impossible
1) Jesus Sets Boundaries For Oceans And Waters At His Command
Inspired After Reading George Swinnock (1620-1673)
The Incomparibleness Of God At The Link Below

Jesus sets boundaries for oceans and waters at His command. George Swinnock said "Some earthly princes heated with passion and drunk with pride have cast shackles into the sea, threatening it with bondage if it did not obey them. Xerxes commanded so many strokes to be given the sea as a punishment of its rebellion against his will; but such actions are the highest folly and madness. Many have had great command at sea, but none ever had the command of the sea like the Lord Jesus. As tempestuous and outrageous as it is, it is Jesus' quiet prisoner and stirs not without His leave nor otherwise than He lengthens its chain."

The Lord Jesus proved that He is God with command over the seas and the waves when he calmed the raging sea's storm on a ship with His disciples. Mark 4:39 says And He (Jesus) arose and said unto the sea, Peace be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And He said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?

The Lord Jesus Can Do The Impossible And Control The Wind And The Sea
Raging waves lay down like sleeping dogs at Jesus' feet
Winds howling like maniacs begin to whisper softly like babes in sleep at Jesus' voice

Job explained how the Lord Jesus set boundaries for oceans and waters at His command. The Lord Jesus said at Job 38:8 Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it. (Swaddlingbands are linen cloths wrapped around new born infants to restrict, control, and calm the babies. Jesus made the thick darkness a swaddlingband to restrict, control, and calm the raging seas). The reason thick darkness is a swaddlingband for the raging sea is because soon in the kingdom of God no darkness and raging sea will exist around the light of Jesus that is seven times brighter than the sun. The raging sea will disappear into the thick darkness according to Revelation 21:1 that says And I saw a new heaven and a new earth for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. No more sea with its storms, scares from sharks, or sin that separates us from God. According to Revelation 22:1 only a peaceful pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, will proceed out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Job 38:10 goes on to say And brake up for it (the raging sea) my decreed place, and set bars and doors. And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further; and here shall thy proud waves be stayed? It's amazing how raging ocean waves stop at beaches all around this earth and go no further at Jesus' command. Jesus promised after Noah's flood by the rainbow that He would never flood the earth again. This is proven by Job 26:7 that says He stretcheth the north over the empty place and hangeth the earth upon nothing; He bindeth up the waters in His thick clouds and the cloud is not rent under them. How incredible that thick clouds can hold vast amounts of water and only allow drops to fall to the earth without breaking and releasing floods of water.

George Swinnock said "It may be proved that the sea is higher than the earth and why then doth it not overflow it and drown its inhabitants? Surely no reason can be given but the command our great God Jesus has over the seas." The Lord Jesus' command over the waters on this earth is stated at Psalm 104:6 that says The waters stood above the mountains (Note that there are fossils on top of the highest mountain Everest of fish proving that the flood of Noah's time placed the waters above the mountains). At thy rebuke (Lord Jesus) they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away. They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them. Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth. He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills.

We see the greatness and power of our Lord Jesus who can measure all the vast oceans on this earth in the hollow of His hand. Isaiah 40:12 says Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of His hand and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance. Yet Jesus shows mercy to saved saints and protects them from the raging seas and storms of life. Jesus promised us at Isaiah 43:2-3 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. Like Paul at Romans 8:31. Brother Bob says What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

And note the incredible power and majesty of our Lord Jesus stated at Proverbs 30:4 that says Who hath ascended up into heaven or descended? Who hath gathered the wind in His fists? Who hath bound the waters in a garment? Who hath established all the ends of the earth? What is His name? (Jesus) and what is His Son's name (Jesus) if thou canst tell? Yet through all this power, the Lord Jesus humbled Himself and came to earth to die on a cross to save sinners like you and me and give them eternal life with peace forever. Right now get saved and experience peace and joy forever; Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again.

Jesus Can Do The Impossible
2) Even Though Jesus Is All Powerful According To Psalm 104:1-3
He Constantly Visits And Preserves Saved Saints From Harm

Note the supreme power and majesty of our Lord Jesus stated at Psalm 104:1-3 that says Bless the Lord, O my soul, O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment; Who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain; Who layeth the beams of His chambers in the waters; Who maketh the clouds His chariot; Who walketh upon the wings of the wind. Even with all this power and glory, our Lord Jesus constantly protects and preserves saved saints proven by Psalm 36:6-7 that says Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep; O Lord, thou preservest man and beast. How excellent is thy lovingkindness O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

Job told us that the Lord Jesus constantly visits and preserves saved saints from harm. Job 10:12 says Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit. 2 Timothy 4:18 promises And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto His heavenly kingdom; to whom be glory for ever and ever, Amen. George Swinnock said "God is not like men; Earthly carpenters and masons build houses and then leave them to the care and charge of others. But God keeps up, preserves, and blesses what He sets up and creates. Not food, or air, or sleep, but only our Lord Jesus preserves man and beast and not only men and beasts, but all things are preserved by our Lord Jesus proven by Colossians 1:16-17 that says All things were created by Him, and for Him, and He is before all things, and by Him all things consist."

Jesus Can Do The Impossible
3) With Jesus Saved Saints Are Not Harmed By Fire

With Jesus saved saints are not harmed by fire. Isaiah 43:2 promises when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. After Nebuchadnezzar put the three hebrew boys into the fiery furnace, the hebrew boys were not harmed by the fire. Nebuchadnezzar said at Daniel 3:25 Lo I see four men loose walking in the midst of the fire and they have no hurt and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God (Jesus). (Note that the corrupt translated bibles incorrectly say that Jesus is just a son of the gods; Nope, Jesus is the Son of God with God as His Father). Daniel 3:27 goes on to say And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

Now if the three hebrew boys were not harmed by fire, when the Lord Jesus destroys the present heavens and earth by fire, all the saved saints will not be harmed by fire. 2 Peter 3:12 describes how God will destroy the present heavens and earth by fire saying Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Right now rejoice and say Ephesians 3:20 Now unto Him (Jesus) that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

Jesus Can Do The Impossible
4) Jesus Always Delivers Saved Saints From Threatening Enemies

Jesus always delivers saved saints from threatening enemies. 2 Kings 19 tells us how Sennacherib sent threatening letters to Hezekiah telling him that he would kill and destroy Hezekiah and all the people of his land. Hezekiah spread these letters in prayer before God and asked the Lord Jesus to deliver him with his people from evil Sennacherib. God answered Hezekiah's prayers by pronouncing judgment against Sennacherib at Isaiah 37:29 that says Because thy rage against me and thy tumult is come up into mine ears, therefore will I put my hook in thy nose and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou comest. That night just one angel sent by God killed 185000 soldiers in Sennacherib's army; And Sennacherib fled from Hezekiah and was killed by his own sons. Proverbs 28:1 promises The wicked flee when no man pursueth; but the righteous are bold as a lion.

George Swinnock described Sennacherib as a man that was extremely stubborn who was resolved and fixed by his own will to destroy Hezekiah; But the Lord Jesus stopped Sennacherib who was an untameable beast that had conquered many countries and kingdoms while trampling down many idols and false gods.

Remember like Hezekiah, Jesus is able to stop your worst enemy from harming you. Right now rejoice and say Jeremiah 32:17 Ah Lord God! behold thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee. Rejoice and say Isaiah 35:3-4 Strengthen ye the weak hands and confirm the feeble knees. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not; behold your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; He will come and save you.

Remember the Lord Jesus has power over any wicked king on this earth. Proverbs 21:1 says The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water; He turneth it whithersoever He will. And Proverbs 16:9 says A man's heart deviseth his way; but the Lord directeth his steps. Finally rejoice and say Job 5:9 (The Lord Jesus) which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number (infinite where there is no number).
