Maniac To Missionary Testimonies

How A Key In A Fish's Belly Saved A Muslim Man In West Africa

In March 2018, a West African christian woman named Adabele Okeke asked her church to pray for her Muslim husband named Makena. When Adabele told Makena that she wanted to attend a week long church revival, Makena was furious and beat her severely. Makena told his wife to focus on Islam and forget the church. But Adabele went to the week long church revival anyway.

When Makena learned that Adabele attended the church revival, he got upset, locked up the house, and told the neighbors that Adabele or anyone else could never enter his home again. To add to the drama, Makena threw the house key into the river as he headed to his girlfriend's house to cheat on his wife for a week.

Before Adabele returned home after the revival, she stopped at the local market to buy fish to prepare a meal for Makena. When Adabele got home she thought it was strange that the house was locked up tightly. She decided to start preparing the fish for a meal outside. She borrowed a pot from her neighbor and began to clean the fish.

While Adabele was cutting open a fish, a key fell out of its belly. Puzzled, she examined it and remarked to her neighbor that the key looked similar to her own house key. Her neighbor urged her to try it in the lock and it worked (Thank you Jesus). After entering the house, while the food cooked, Adabele cleaned the house waiting for Makena to return.

When Makena walked home from the mosque, he was shocked that his house had been opened; Makena got angry thinking that a neighbor had helped his wife bust open the door or break the lock. After Makena saw that nothing was damaged, he demanded to know how Adabele got in. Adabele explained about the key in the fish's belly. Stunned, Makena being a superstitious man decided that he should learn about christianity.

The next Sunday morning Makena went to church with Adabele. After the Sunday morning service, Makena asked if he could speak with the pastor privately. He told the pastor about the amazing story of the key in the fish's belly. Makena said I want to serve the God of the christians. He is the one who knows and has power to do what no one else can. Makena got gloriously saved and was born again. Adabele's prayers were answered and Makena turned from sin and followed Jesus.

Matthew 17:27 tells how a coin in a fish's mouth paid taxes for Jesus and Peter. Jesus told Peter "Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money; that take, and give unto them for me and thee". In West Africa in 2018, a house key in a fish's belly became a key to the kingdom of God for an abusive husband. Our Lord Jesus is still a fisher of men.

Right now like Makena, Jesus can save you no matter how bad your past sins have been. The blood of Jesus will wash away all your sins and make you white as snow where Jesus will not remember your sins. Get saved now; Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess everywhere that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for your sins on the cross, was buried, and rose again.

How Jacob Koshy Found Jesus By Smoking The Word Of God

Jacob Koshy grew up in Singapore with one driving ambition: To be a success in life and gain all the money and possessions he could obtain. When he was a young man, he discovered that crime and the underworld was his fast track to success. Soon he was deeply involved in the world of drugs and gambling, and eventually he became a one man international smuggling network.

In 1980, he was caught, arrested, and placed in a government drug rehabilitation prison in Singapore. It was more than he could bear. All his goals, purposes, dreams, and ambitions were locked up with him in a tiny cell, and his heart was full of a cold emptiness that frightened him.

Jacob was a smoker and cigarettes weren't allowed in the prison, so he smuggled in tobacco and rolled it in the pages of a Gideon Bible that he tore out one page at a time as needed. One day he fell asleep while smoking. He awoke to find that the cigarette had burned out, and all that remained was a scrap of charred paper. He unrolled it and read what was written: Acts 9:4 "Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me."

Jacob became so curious about the quote that he asked for another bible and read the entire story of the conversion of Saul of Tarsus. He suddenly realized that if God could help someone like Saul (who had murdered christians), God could help him too. There in his cell, he knelt and prayed, asking Jesus to come into his life and change him. He began crying and couldn't stop. The tears of a wasted life washed away his pain while Jacob got gloriously saved and born again.

Then Jacob started telling his story to other prisoners witnessing Jesus throughout the prison. After he was released, he became involved in a church. He met a christian woman, married, and became a missionary in the Far East where he tells people far and wide, "Who would have believed that I could find the Truth (Jesus) by smoking the Word of God".
