Historical Blessings

Edward Kimball
An Unknown Witness That Saved Multitudes For Jesus

In 1856 an unknown humble Sunday school teacher named Edward Kimball was determined to win a sinner named DL Moody to Jesus. A shoe store employer told DL Moody that he had to go to Sunday school before he could work at his store. DL Moody agreed to attend church and fell asleep every Sunday while Edward Kimball preached a blessed sermon. But Edward Kimball was determined to witness and win DL Moody to Jesus.

Edward Kimball would visit DL Moody many times at a shoe store where the teenage Moody worked. One day when Mr. Kimball entered the shoe store, he put his hand on DL Moody's shoulder while placing his foot upon a shoebox and humbly asked him to get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for him on the cross, was buried, and rose again. After nothing changed for Mr. Moody, Mr. Kimball left the shoe store thinking that nothing would happen. However on that day DL Moody got saved and became a new person who eventually became one of the greatest evangelists during the 1800s.

Like Edward Kimball, keep witnessing Jesus to people everywhere on this earth. Paul said at 1 Corinthians 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Our labor for Jesus is not in vain. The one person that gets saved by our witness could save millions for Jesus. Because Edward Kimball kept witnessing Jesus to DL Moody, Mr. Moody got saved and won millions to our Lord Jesus. In other words, if it wasn't for Edward Kimball (who isn't even listed in Wikipedia) millions of lost souls would now be in hell. But instead millions of sinners got saved and are in heaven right now. All these millions of people are thankful that Edward Kimball offered salvation to DL Moody.

But the story doesn't end about the blessed results from Edward Kimball's witness. On June 17, 1873, DL Moody arrived in Liverpool England for a series of crusades. The meetings went poorly at first but then blessings began flowing. Moody visited a Baptist chapel pastored by a scholarly man named FB Meyer who at first disdained the American's unfettered preaching. But Meyer was soon transfixed and transformed by Moody's message.

At Moody's invitation, Meyer toured America. At Northfield Bible Conference, Meyer challenged the crowds saying "If you are not willing to give up everything for Christ, are you willing to be made willing." That remark changed the life of a struggling young minister named J. Wilbur Chapman. Chapman proceeded to become a powerful traveling evangelist in the early 1900s and he recruited a converted baseball player named Billy Sunday. Under Chapman's eye, Sunday became one of the most spectacular evangelists in American history.

Billy Sunday's campaign in Charlotte, North Carolina produced a group of converts who continued praying for another such visitation of the Spirit. In 1934 evangelist Mordecai Ham was invited to conduct a citywide crusade. On October 8, 1934 Ham discouraged wrote a prayer to God on the stationary of his Charlotte hotel: Lord give us a pentecost here...Pour out thy Spirit tomorrow. His prayer was answered beyond his dreams when a Central High School student named Billy Graham gave his heart to Jesus. And Billy Graham became one of the greatest preachers that ever lived on this earth and won millions to our Lord Jesus.

Now remember millions of souls were saved by the preaching of  DL Moody,  FB Meyer, J. Wilbur Chapman, Billy Sunday, Mordecai Ham, and Billy Graham, because of an unknown humble Sunday school teacher named Ed Kimball who was determined to witness Jesus everywhere to everyone. Ed Kimball didn't even know about the millions of souls that his preaching saved. But, Jesus will reward Mr. Kimball greatly in heaven for his faithfulness in telling everyone about our Lord Jesus.

Like Ed Kimball, Brother Bob might not know how many lives were changed and saved by reading preachbrotherbob (currently seen by half of a million people all over this earth). But it's not about lifting up Ed Kimball or Brother Bob; All the glory belongs to our Lord Jesus. Ed Kimball and Brother Bob will soon rejoice forevermore when we see all the lost souls that escaped hell and received eternal peace in heaven with Jesus because of our constant witnessing about Jesus to lost sinners everywhere on this earth.

Like Ed Kimball, never underestimate the influence you can have on the world by preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ with just one life. I pray in Jesus name that this little story about Ed Kimball will encourage many people to continue to pray and look for opportunities to preach the gospel and the message of salvation found in our Lord Jesus everywhere around this earth. The one person you reach for Jesus could save untold millions for the Lord Jesus.

David Brainerd
Missionary To The American Indians

David Brainerd, who only lived 29 years on this earth, was one of the greatest soul winners for Jesus that ever lived. David Brainerd dedicated his life to witnessing to lost American Indians from 1737-1747. This would be like going today to a primitive Indian tribe in the remote Amazon jungle of Brazil South America to tell all the Indians about the Lord Jesus. David Brainerd couldn't speak the language of the American Indians but was determined to offer salvation by Jesus to them all.

For ten years in the early 1700s,  David Brainerd lived in primitive huts on a straw cot weeping and praying every day that the lost Indians would get saved. He traveled on a horse through the states of New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, constantly preaching to the Indians through a drunken Indian interpreter daily. At first, not one Indian got saved. But after around 10 years of preaching Jesus to the Indians, thousands of Indians got saved. Mr. Brainerd opened up churches and schools to train the Indians about Jesus and lives of many American Indians were changed while they got gloriously saved.

Brother Bob has the utmost respect for any missionary like David Brainerd who dedicate their lives to living in remote desolate places to reach primitive people and save their souls. We should all support missionaries who are willing to live in jungles and remote places on this earth to preach the gospel of our Lord Jesus to lost sinners who never heard about Jesus. These people are willing to sacrifice and learn primitive languages and live outdoors in huts to win souls to our Lord Jesus.

Friends like David Brainerd start weeping and being burdened to save lost sinners all around us. Remember the promise of Psalm 126:5-6 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth (burdened and praying daily for lost souls to be saved) bearing precious seed (constantly preaching the Word of God and offering salvation from Jesus) shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him (the souls that got saved by our witnessing). In other words, saints will rejoice when they see the untold millions of souls that were saved by our witnessing for Jesus in heaven. 1 Thessalonians 2:19 speaks about this: For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming? For ye (the saints saved through our witnessing) are our glory and joy.

Some Blessed Quotes

Without God, we should fear to move
But when He bids us go, it is dangerous to tarry

I thank God for protecting me from what I thought I wanted
and blessing me with what I didn't know I needed

A Blessed Poem Proving That God's Word And Truth Will Remain Forever

They burned Truth in the marketplace
And thought their work complete
But next day with a smiling face
They met it on the street

They threw it in a dungeon damp
And thought it was no more
But lo it walked with lighted lamp
Among them as before

They scorned and ostracized it
And ordained it to depart
But still it dwelt in all the land
And challenged every heart

Powerful Revelations

The Three Crystals Of Heaven
Crystal Light Shining On A  Crystal Pure River
Flowing Into A Crystal Sea Of Glass
By T. Dewitt Talmage

The book of Revelation describes the three crystals that saints will see in the kingdom of God. First there is crystal light noted at Revelation 21:11 that says Having the glory of God: and her light (Jerusalem's light) was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal. This crystal light will shine on all the healing leaves of heaven's tree of life shimmering on the topaz foundation of the beautiful city tossing in the plumes (feathers) of the equestrian riders of heaven on white horses clothed in fine linen, clean and white.

Next we see a crystal pure river of water of life at Revelation 22:1 that says And He shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. Finally we see a crystal sea of glass stated at Revelation 4:6 that says And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. According to Job 28:17 The gold and the crystal (of this earth) cannot equal it (God's wisdom and crystal glory in the kingdom of God): and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold. The crystal of this earth cannot equal the clear crystal of heaven.

This is what we learn about the three crystals of heaven
Crystal light shining on a crystal pure river flowing into a crystal sea of glass
And the earth's gold and crystal cannot equal it

A Lamb, The Lamb, Your Lamb
A Lamb-Sacrifice
The Lamb-Saviour
Your Lamb-Salvation

Notice that Exodus 12:3-5 speaks about a lamb, the lamb, and finally your lamb. First Exodus 12:3 talks about a lamb saying Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house. Then Exodus 12:4 talks about the lamb saying And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb. Finally, Exodus 12:5 talks about your lamb saying Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or the goats.

Notice the progression from A Lamb to The Lamb To Your Lamb

First we learn that a lamb had to be sacrificed for our sins because according to Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood there is no remission (release from the bondage and imprisonment of sin). The sacrifice had to be a lamb that was innocent and perfect to remove our sins. The blood of an innocent lamb was placed on the door of a child of God in Egypt for protection from the death angel. The Lord Jesus said at Exodus 12:13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where you are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

Next we identify The Lamb that was sacrificed to cleanse us from all our sins. John the Baptist told us that Jesus is the Lamb of God that was sacrificed for our sins at John 1:29 that says The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. Jesus is the innocent perfect Lamb without sin according to 1 John 3:5 And ye know that He was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin. Also Hebrews 4:15 says The Lamb Jesus was without sin: For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Finally, Jesus must become your lamb to be saved and cleansed from all your sins. Everyone must work out their own salvation with fear and trembling where Jesus is your Lamb that cleanses you from all sin. God has provided The Lamb Jesus for your salvation. Right now make Jesus your Lamb and get saved. Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again. Tell the devil daily by faith I am crucified with Jesus Christ and my sins are removed because the blood of Jesus gives me total victory over the devil. Revelation 12:11 promises And they overcame him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb (Jesus), and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Keep Looking For Jesus

In the Holy Land of Israel a tourist noticed a man who was going out to the Mount of Olives pictured above every day at the same time staying for a while and then coming back. One day he said to him I notice you go out to the Mount of Olives at the same time every day, stay a while and then come back. Why do you do that?

The man replied, The Messiah Jesus is coming soon. His feet shall stand upon the Mount of Olives according to Zechariah 14:4. I should like to be out there when He comes. This man expected Jesus to come back to that mountain. Zechariah 14:4 says And His (Jesus) feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east, and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

Like this man, christians everywhere ought to be looking and waiting every day for the return of our Lord Jesus. According to Titus 2:13 we all should be looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. And according to Romans 5:1 when we look for this blessed hope, we will rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

If Jesus didn't come yesterday, I'm going to look for Him today
And If He doesn't come today, I'm going to look for Him tomorrow

Rejoice and claim the promise of Hebrews 9:28
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many
And unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time
Without sin unto salvation

Classic Quote
Seven Days Without The Word Of God Makes One Week (Weak)

I Just Had To Add This Story About A Bartender's Parrot

A preacher needed a building for church services on Sunday. Then a bartender allowed the preacher to use his bar for church on Sunday. On Sunday when the preacher arrived at the bar, he learned that the bartender owned a parrot that said Here comes the bartender Here comes the bartender. Then when the musicians arrived, the parrot said Same old band. Then when the choir arrived, the parrot said Here come the singers; Here come the singers. And finally when the church members arrived, the parrot went crazy and said Same old crowd, same old crowd. The people in the church on Sunday morning were the same people in the bar Saturday night.

Don't Be A Hypocrite
Remember a hypocrite is a fellow who isn't himself on Sundays
Note the warning from Job 27:8
For what is the hope of the hypocrite though he hath gained
when God taketh away his soul

Meditate On These Blessed Thoughts

A Lesson Learned From An Iceberg
Written By GBF Hallock

Sometimes a strange thing is seen at sea. The wind, currents, and surface ice are all moving in one direction, but a huge iceberg pictured above comes along moving against wind and tide plowing its way through the surface ice in the opposite direction.

What is the explanation? The surface ice floats with the current, but the iceberg has its base down in a deeper and more powerful current and is borne along majestically against all opposition. Most people float with the surface currents even when these are moving in the wrong direction. But occasionally there comes a man who has his will down into the deeper and more powerful current of God's will and then all the world must give way before him as he plows his course through.

Surface winds and currents have no effect on any person living for our Lord Jesus. Blessed christians are in the Gulf stream of the universe and the very constellations are floating with them. These world resisters and world compellers are God moved in the power of His might. They proclaim Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Like the iceberg, don't run with the crowds of this world enjoying sin. Choose life and Jesus and the sins of this world will not stop your blessings. Instead of joining the crowd that constantly sins in this world (drinking alcoholic drinks, fornicating, and wasting time gossipping on facebook with cellphones) live for Jesus and receive peace that passeth all understanding with joy and strength everlasting.  Get saved right now and repent, confess Jesus to be your God believing that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again. Every day tell people everywhere about our Lord Jesus trying to win souls and your life will have joy, purpose, and meaning.

Don't float in the wrong direction with the world sinning to death, misery and eternity in the lake of fire. Instead get saved and like the iceberg resist the devil and receive victory, peace, and everlasting life with our Lord Jesus in heaven forevermore. Matthew 7:13-14 tells us Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Remember the bible says that many that are first who enjoy sin in this world shall be last but the few that live holy lives for Jesus who are last will be first.

Don't Be Like The Rooster Who Thinks
The Sun Rises To Hear Him Crow

Unlike the rooster pictured above, Brother Bob says to agree with John the Baptist and say John 3:30 He (Jesus) must increase, but I must decrease. Be humble like Paul saying Ephesians 3:8 Unto me who am less than the least of all saints is this grace given that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ. Remember get yourself out of the picture; One plants one waters but God gives the increase. Deny yourself daily as you say with DL Moody "I have never met a man who gave me more trouble than myself."

I just had to add this gem. When Peter denied Jesus after the rooster crowed, there was a preachin chicken and a chicken preacher face to face. Usually roosters crow early in the morning, but Jesus had a rooster crow twice late at night after Peter denied Jesus thrice. Peter realized a miracle happened when the rooster crowed late at night instead of the morning and wept after his denial.

A Blessed Story About The Choir Of Heaven
By T. Dewitt Talmage

The wife of a preacher was dying in a home near their church. Usually every Saturday night the choir would rehearse in this home for the Sunday service. On Thursday night the preacher's wife said "How sweet that the choir is rehearsing tonight for an hour." Someone near her said the choir is not rehearsing tonight. But the preacher's wife said I can hear the choir singing and it is so blessed.

Friends, the preacher's wife heard the choir of heaven singing. Sometimes Jesus sets ajar the door of heaven to let a passage of that rapture greet our ears. The minstrels of heaven strike such a tremendous melody that the walls of jasper cannot hold it. Earthly concerts present conductors using the hand and foot to wield great harmony. But Oh, the grander scene when they shall come from the east and from the west and  from the north and from the south-a great multitude which no man could number into the temple of the skies, host beyond host, rank beyond rank, gallery above gallery, and Jesus shall stand before the great host to conduct the harmony with his wounded hands and His wounded feet.

Like the voice of many waters with the majesty of mighty thunderings, the heavenly choir of innumerable angels and saved saints will proclaim Revelation 5:12 Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. Oh if my ear shall hear no other sweet sounds, may I hear that. If I join no other assemblage, may I join that.

T Dewitt Talmage said that after Henry V won the battle of Agincourt, he wanted to acknowledge divine interpositon by ordering the chaplain to read a Psalm of David. When the chaplain read Psalm 115:1 Not unto us O Lord not unto us but unto thy name give glory for thy mercy and for thy truth's sake, the king and all the calvary dismounted while the great host of officers and soldiers bowed down on their faces worshipping the Lord Jesus.

Oh at the story of the Saviour's love and deliverance, shall we not all prostrate ourselves before Jesus now, hosts of earth and hosts of heaven falling upon our faces saying Not unto us O Lord not unto us but unto thy name give glory for thy mercy and for thy truth's sake.

All Hail The Power Of Jesus Name
Let Angels Prostrate Fall
Bring Forth The Royal Diadem
And Crown Him Lord Of All

How To Be A Blessed Leader

It is better to be right and hated
Than wrong and loved

In 1838 Henry Clay said
I'd rather be right than be President

None of us desire to be disliked and considered to be the source of trouble. But the leader must first be concerned with the cause which he leads. His own personal favor with the people must be set aside in order to accomplish a higher goal. In other words, don't compromise with contemporaries and let the vices of contemporaries dull the voice of your conscience. When you know the bible says abortion is murder, smoking marijuana is sorcery, and same sex marriage is an abomination, politicians are wrong to approve these sins to win votes and become popular.

Paul said at Galatians 1:10 For do I now persuade men or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. Woe unto you when men speak well of you but you are blessed when men say all manner of evil against you for the sake of our Lord Jesus. Like Paul we can tell our enemies that promote sinful laws like abortions after birth,  same sex marriage, and legalization of recreational marijuana Galatians 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth.

Some Blessed Quotes To Ponder

1) Matthew Henry said "I would think it a greater happiness to gain one soul to Christ than mountains of silver and gold to myself. If I do not gain souls, I shall enjoy all my other gains with very little satisfaction."
2) Thomas Cuyler said "Often the most useful christians are those who serve their master in little things. He never despises the day of small things or else He would not hide His oaks in tiny acorns or the wealth of a wheat field in bags of little seeds."

Say DL Moody's Last Words On This Earth And Be Blessed

Earth is receding
God is calling
I am going

Stories That Exalt Jesus

The Story Of An Old Blacksmith
And His Chain For An Anchor

From Gerhard BF Hallock's 1899 Book Upward Steps
Brother Bob highly recommends this book that is found at
GBF Hallock Open Library In A Google Search

An old blacksmith lived in a large city where all day long people could hear the clanging of his hammer upon the anvil, and everyone knew that the old blacksmith was forging a chain for an anchor. Many people saw him work every day noticing how faithful and patient he was and how he would never pass over one link of the chain until it was absolutely perfect. Most people would laugh at the old man and tell him he would get more accomplished if he didn't work so long on each little link.

The old blacksmith would just shake his head and keep on doing his best on each link of the chain, ignoring the daily mockery. After the old blacksmith died, he was laid away in the churchyard and the great chain which lay in his shop was put on board a ship and connected to an anchor. The chain and anchor were coiled up out of the way where no one noticed them for a long time.

But one day when the ship was sailing on the ocean with one thousand passengers, a fierce wind began to blow while rain dashed down on the deck of the ship in torrents as the sky flashed with vivid flashes of lightning. The ship toiled through the waves and strained and groaned as she obeyed her helm. It took three men at the wheel to guide her. Then they let go her anchor and the great chain made by the old blacksmith went rattling over the deck into the gloomy waves. At last the anchor touched the bottom of the ocean and the chain made by the old blacksmith grew as taut and stiff as a bar of iron.

As the gale increased, everyone on the ship asked will the anchor and chain hold? If one link of the chain, just one link was imperfect and weak, the ship would be lost and one thousand people would die and perish. But the faithful old smith had done his best in each and every link. And the chain held and one thousand people's lives were saved because of one old faithful blacksmith's chain.

Like this old blacksmith, we all need to realize how much of our own future destiny and the welfare of others is bound up in our present actions. In Jesus name, I pray that this story encourages saints everywhere to keep working for Jesus and ignore the persecutions around us. Deny your flesh and worldly pleasures and live for Jesus daily. Be determined to finish your goals for Jesus by constantly denying sin. Tell everyone to get saved repent and confess Jesus to be God believing Jesus died for them on the cross, was buried, and rose again. Like the old blacksmith, instead of being discouraged and quitting because of trials and persecutions for Jesus, rejoice and keep working for Jesus and your faithfulness will bless and save thousands all over this earth, while our Lord Jesus is exalted and glorified.

Failure Is Not Final Unless You Quit

Now let's learn the secret for success by reading Galatians 6:9 that says And let us not be weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Notice that we will reap and become successful if we don't faint or quit. Right now say and tell multitudes everywhere "A failure is not someone who fails but someone who quits."

Quitters Never Win and Winners Never Quit

Albert Gray said "The secret of success for everyone who has been successful lies in the fact of doing things that failures don't like to do." The bible says at Proverbs 24:16 For a just man falleth seven times and riseth up again; but the wicked shall fall into mischief. Let's all practice the wise advice of Paul Harvey who said "If you fall seven times and get up eight times, you will never fail."

And to learn the true meaning of Galatians 6:9 for success and how to faint not, connect Luke 18:1 to complete the bible jigsaw puzzle pictured above, understanding that if you always pray you will faint not and succeed with many blessings. Luke 18:1 tells us how to faint not to reap our blessings saying Men ought always to pray and not to faint.  Keep praying for your goals for Jesus; Don't quit and the bible promises that you will be successful and achieve all your plans for Jesus.

Let's join two more bible scriptures together to again complete the bible jigsaw puzzle and discover how to freeze, still, and defeat the devil. Notice that Psalm 8:2 says Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. Now let's see how to still the enemy devil by connecting Matthew 21:16 that says Yea have ye never read Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise? If we connect the scriptures we discover that praise to Jesus will freeze, still, and defeat the devil. Isaiah 59:19 promises When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard (defined as make the devil flee quickly and disappear) against him.

What Think Ye Of Christ?

     T. DeWittt Talmage (a great preacher from the 1800's) in reply to this question calls upon the following witnesses to give their testimonies.

First the great hymnwriters give their testimonies

1) Isaac Watts who lived from 1674 to 1748 sings his blessed hymn I'm not ashamed to own my Lord or to defend his cause.
2) John Newton who lived from 1725-1807 sings his blessed hymn Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me.
3) Charles Wesley who lived from 1707-1788 sings his blessed hymn Jesus lover of my soul let me to thy bosom fly.
4) Ray Palmer who lived from 1808-1887 sings his famed hymn My faith looks up to thee, Thou Lamb of Calvary.
5) Fanny Crosby who lived from 1820-1915 sings her memorable hymn Blessed assurance Jesus is mine; O what a foretaste of glory divine.

But let us take a higher testimony

6) David answers The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
7) John answers The root and offspring of David and the Bright and the Morning Star.
8) Paul proclaims even from the Roman prison Christ is all, and in all.

Life's Views

A great philosopher said
"I have spent my life laboriously doing nothing"

A great emperor said
"I have tried everything and nothing is of any profit"

Goethe, the great German poet said
"My life has been a continual rolling of a stone uphill
which has continuously rolled back"

But remember the words of Paul the great missionary who said
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness
Which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day
And not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing

More Blessed Quotes

1) A hypocrite is a fellow who isn't himself on Sundays.
2) Truth has only to exchange hands a few times to become fiction.
3) Faith will not always get for us what we want, but it will get what God wants us to have. Like Jesus we need to say Not my will but thy will be done Father God.

4) John Jay the first Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court said "The bible is the best of all books for it is the Word of God and teaches us the way to be happy in this world and in the next. Continue therefore to read it and to regulate your life by its precepts." Wouldn't it be a blessing if our current US Supreme Court justices in 2019 could agree with John Jay's beliefs.

5)  Robert E. Lee General for the Confederate army said "The bible is a book in comparison with which all others in my eyes are of minor importance and which, in all my perplexities and distresses has never failed to give me light and strength."
