Angels were always encamped around the Lord Jesus from His birth to His death and for ever. Like the Lord Jesus, the angels of God will always encamp around christians and protect them from harm. Pictured above we see that a guardian angel was present with Jesus at His birth, and this angel proclaimed to shepherds that the Lord Jesus (the Saviour) was born. Luke 2:8 says And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
The angels of God were always around the Lord Jesus during His birth, childhood, temptations in the wilderness, in the Garden of Gethsemane, at the cross of Calvary, and for ever where innumerable angels currently worship the Lord Jesus in heaven. And because the Lord Jesus lives in all saved saints, rejoice and know that angels always surround and protect christians anywhere they travel in this world.
After Jesus was born, pictured above, angels continued to protect the Lord Jesus. The angel of the Lord warned Jesus' adopted father Joseph to take the child Jesus to Egypt. After king Herod decided to open up an abortion clinic to kill all the baby boys in Bethlehem under the age of two, an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream saying take baby Jesus to Egypt until I send for you again. And after king Herod died, an angel went to Joseph and said bring the child Jesus back home to Israel.
Matthew 2:13 tells us how the angel protected Jesus by telling his adopted father Joseph to take Jesus to Egypt to escape death when king Herod killed the baby boys of Bethlehem. Matthew 2:13 says And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy Him. Then after Herod died, Matthew 2:19 says But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying, Arise and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life.
The bible tells us that the Lord Jesus is the captain or general of a host that is called an army of angels. Jacob saw the Lord Jesus at the top of a ladderway where General Jesus constantly sends his soldier angels down the ladderway to earth to daily protect his precious saints. Psalm 68:17 says The chariots of God are twenty thousand (myriad or innumerable infinite number of chariots with angels), even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place. Judges 5:20 says They fought from heaven; the stars (angels) in their courses (ladderway) fought against Sisera (the battle in the field of this world). According to this scripture, General Jesus sends angels to christians down a ladderway to protect them daily, keeping them from harm while the angels fight and battle against the devil.
Pictured above we see again that the angels of God always encamp around the Lord Jesus and strengthened Jesus after the devil tempted Him in the wilderness. Matthew 4:11 says Then the devil leaveth Him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto Him. How comforting to know that like Jesus, christians always have angels around them to daily strengthen and minister to their needs. Be encouraged saint reading this bible study because when people reject you and no one is there to help you, the Lord Jesus will send angels to take care of you.
Remember to entertain strangers who are angels sent to bless you and minister to your needs. Hebrews 13:1 says Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Psalm 91:11 says For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Pictured above, we see that like Jesus, the prophet Elijah also had an angel strengthen and minister to his needs. Elijah wanted to die under a juniper tree thinking no one cared about him when the witch Jezebel tried to kill him. But the Lord Jesus cared about Elijah and sent an angel to provide for Elijah a baked cake and a cruse of water by his head. 1 Kings 19:5 says And as he (Elijah) lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat. And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.
Notice that angels are people and strangers sent by the Lord Jesus to help christians. The Lord Jesus loves christians and will always send angels to provide and supply all their needs. Philippians 4:19 says But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. When family members, church members, and this world leaves a christian alone, the Lord Jesus will send angels to christians to keep them alive on this earth. Like Elijah, the Lord Jesus can send angels to create food and money to help christians survive and overcome this troubled world. Jesus created money in the mouth of a fish so Peter and Jesus could pay taxes. Jesus created oil for the widow women to sell so she could save her sons and pay her bills.
The angel of the Lord was always with Jesus when the angel strengthened Jesus at the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus said at Luke 22:42 Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. And there appeared an angel unto Him from heaven, strengthening Him.
Now Jesus could have had angels protect him and stop Pilate from crucifying Him. But when Jesus first came on this earth as a man, Jesus appeared as a lamb and did not have His angels stop Him from dying on the cross of Calvary. Right now say thank you Lord Jesus for dying for me on the cross of Calvary and shedding your precious blood that overcame the devil. Revelation 12:11 says And they overcame him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb (Jesus), and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
According to Revelation 19 and 20, when Jesus returns to this earth on a white horse to be the King of this earth during the millennium, Jesus will be the Lion of the tribe of Juda that will rule the nations with a rod of iron. Jesus will first cast the beast antichrist and the false prophet alive into the lake of fire. Then according to Revelation 20:1 an angel with a great chain and key will cast the devil into a sealed bottomless pit for 1000 years. The devil will be on the chain gang for 1000 years falling in a locked sealed bottomless pit with no bottom chained with a great chain. This will cause great peace on this earth with King Jesus for 1000 years with no devil around. After 1000 years, the devil will be released out of the bottomless pit to fight against Jesus and his saints. Then Jesus will cast the devil into the lake of fire with the beast and false prophet. In other words the beast and the false prophet will be alive in the lake of fire for 1000 years before the devil joins them.
Take time to think about how the angels will worship our Lord Jesus for ever. Picture in your minds innumerable angels in the new heavens around the emerald rainbow throne of Jesus, the four beasts constantly saying Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come, and around them 24 elders, worshipping with their faces bowed down before the Lord Jesus who cast their crowns before the throne saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created..
Revelation 7:11 says And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God (Jesus), Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 12:22 says But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect.
