The Goings Forth Of Jesus Part Two

Friends for today's bible study we will look at some more goings forth of our Lord Jesus. Pictured above we see another going forth of Jesus that occurred when Jesus who is Melchizedek, the King of righteousness and King of Peace appeared to Abraham. Genesis 14:18 says And Melchizedek king of Salem (Peace) brought forth bread and wine (remembering the crucifixion of Jesus by communion with the breaking of bread and drinking of the wine): and He was the priest of the most high God. And he blessed him (Abraham), and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

Let me give you all three scriptures proving that Jesus is Melchizedek, the King of righteousness and King of Salem or peace who appeared to Abraham. First Revelation 19:16 proclaims Jesus to be the King of kings and says And He (Jesus) hath on His vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. And 1 Corinthians 1:30 tells us that Jesus is righteousness saying But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. Therefore Jesus is Melchizedek who is the King of righteousness that blessed Abraham. The prophet Isaiah also proclaimed Jesus to be the King of Salem or the Prince of Peace at Isaiah 9:6 that says For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

OK, now let's all look at Hebrews 6:20 and Hebrews 7 that also says that Jesus is Melchisedec who appeared to Abraham. Hebrews 6:20 says Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. For this Melchisedec, King of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning form the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of Peace; Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

Wow, the above scripture says Melchisedec is the Son of God who is Jesus. And Jesus is without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days nor end of life. Jesus said a John 8:58 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I Am. Jesus also said at Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty (God).

OK, you might say Brother Bob what can we learn from the two pictures above of a Levite priest and a photo remembering the high priest Jesus for ever after the order of Melchisedec. First, one must look at how the law proclaimed that only the tribe of Levi could be priests. Joshua 18:7 says But the Levites have no part among you; for the priesthood of the Lord is their inheritance: But now the law has been changed and the priesthood comes from the tribe of Judah where Jesus is the Lion of the tribe of Juda and our high priest forevermore after the order of Melchisedec.

Take time to read Hebrews 7:11 that proclaims that the priesthood forevermore with Jesus comes from the tribe of Judah and not Levi where the law is changed. Hebrews 7:11 says If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, for under it the people received the law, what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law. For He of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance of the altar. For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

Now friends everywhere rejoice and praise Jesus while you say out loud Hebrews 7:15 that says And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest (Jesus), Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. For He testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melshisedec.

And now Jesus is our high priest who ever liveth to make intercession for us. Hebrews 7:25 tells us Wherefore He (Jesus) is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them. Be encouraged friends; The effectual fervent prayer of this righteous man Jesus who is our high priest forevermore availeth much. Jesus is constantly praying blessings and peace for his saints and is the high priest forevermore.

The first picture above is of a high priest under the law who could not sit down in the temple because his job was never done because he continually offered sacrifices that could not remove sin. The second picture above shows us that the high priest Jesus got the job done of removing our sins forevermore when He died on the cross of Calvary and sat down on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens. Our high priest Jesus made a statement by sitting down and proclaiming at the cross it is finished when Jesus removed our sins forevermore by the sacrifice of Himself.

The scripture that says the high priests under the law constantly stood in the temple offering sacrifices that could not remove our sins is at Hebrews 10:11 and says And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. The scripture that says that our high priest Jesus sat down removing our sins forevermore is at Hebrews 8:1 that says Now of the things which we have spoken, this is the sum: We have such an high priest (Jesus), who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens. And when our high priest Jesus sat down in the heavens, we can all rejoice and say Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood.

But, after Jesus sat down on the right hand of God to remove our sins, another going forth of Jesus occurred when Jesus stood up on the right hand of God to welcome Stephen home to heaven when Stephen was stoned to death. The bible says at Acts 7:54 When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth. But he (Stephen), being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing (not sitting) on the right hand of God.

OK, pictured above we see yet another going forth of the Lord Jesus who wrestled with Jacob and blessed Jacob. Many people say an angel and not Jesus wrestled with Jacob. But take time to read the following scriptures that prove that Jesus (a pre-incarnate theophany visible manifestation of God) wrestled and blessed Jacob. The prophet Hosea said at Hosea 12:3 He (Jacob) took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God (notice Hosea says Jacob wrestled with God who is Jesus). Yea, he had power over the angel (note now Hosea says Jacob wrestled with an angel that shows how Jesus was also a man but Jesus also is God), and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spake with us. Even the Lord God of hosts; the Lord is his memorial (the Hebrew definition of memorial is name). Note Hosea now says again that the Lord was the memorial name of the man Jesus who wrestled with Jacob.

Genesis 32:22 also says Jesus who is God wrestled with Jacob. Genesis 32:22 says And he (Jacob) rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two womenservants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok. And he took them, and sent them over the brook, and sent over that he had. And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man (Jesus) with him until the breaking of day. And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. And He said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.

Genesis 32:27 goes on to say And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. And He (Jesus) said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God (note Jesus Himself proclaimed to Jacob that He is God) and with men, and hast prevailed. And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And He said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And He blessed him there. And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel (called facing God who is Jesus): for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved. Wow, Jacob said he saw God who is Jesus and not just an angel face to face. Jesus went forth from the Father and made a pre-incarnate theophany appearance to bless Jacob and call him a prince with God.

OK, for our final going forth of Jesus today, pictured above we see Jesus who is the I AM God that appeared and spoke to Moses from the burning bush. Jesus proclaimed that He is the I AM God and said at John 8:58 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM. Exodus 3:13 records the conversation that Moses had with Jesus who is the I AM God at the burning bush and says And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, the God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is His name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses I AM THAT I AM: and He said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

OK to end today's bible study, here's a couple of blessed stories and quotes I heard this week. A preacher went with his friend to save souls in Mexico. After they crossed the Rio Grande, the friend told the preacher that in Mexico they say Hesus and not Jesus. Then the preacher saw a restaurant in Mexico called Josies and said let's go to Josies to eat. His friend said its pronounced Hosies and not Josies. Then the friend asked the preacher, "How long are you staying in Mexico to preach?" The preacher said a couple of months. Then his friend asked "When are you leaving to go back to America?" The preacher said sometime in Hune, or Huly, or maybe Hanuary. To end up this bible study be blessed and say this anointed quote. Quit telling God how big your problems are and start telling your problems how big your God is. Hope these little stories put a smile on your face. Stay tuned because more goings forth of Jesus are on the way in our next bible study.
