A Collection Of Parables For Encouragement

For today's bible study put on your seat belts while we discover many hidden blessings from the Word of God. I pray in Jesus name all my friends everywhere will be strengthened and blessed when they read these revealed mysteries from our Lord Jesus Christ. For our first parable, let's look at a prophecy stated at Matthew 12:40 that says For as Jonas (Jonah) was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. This prophecy declares that Jesus will after the cross be three full days and three full nights in the heart of the earth preaching to the saints that lived before the cross and then ascend with these saints to the kingdom of God on high.

To prove that it took Jesus three full days and nights to rise from the dead, pictured above we see a time line of the last seven days from the gospel of Mark. Mark is the only gospel that records the last seven days of Jesus on this earth. The gospel of Mark proves that Jesus died and was buried on Friday evening and rose from the grave on Sunday morning for a full three days and nights during a leap year. Below is a listing of each day of Jesus' last week with corresponding scriptures from the gospel of Mark.

On Palm Sunday Jesus entered into Jerusalem in triumph and Mark 11:7 says And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and He sat upon him. And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way. And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna: Blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Next Mark 11:12 brings us to Monday and says And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, He was hungry. And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply He might find any thing thereon: and when He came to it, He found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And His disciples heard it. And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves. On Monday Jesus cursed the fig tree and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers. Then Mark 11:20 brings us to Tuesday and says And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

Now let's look at Mark 14:1 that takes us to Thursday for the passover that says After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take Him by craft (deceit), and put Him to death. Then on Thursday evening Jesus ate the passover with His disciples, Mark 14:17 says And in the evening He cometh with the twelve. And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily, I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me. Also on Thursday night, Jesus took his disciples to the garden of Gethsemane to pray and Mark 14:32 says And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and He saith to His disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.

Next, we see that Friday occurs at Mark 15:1 that says And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried Him away, and delivered Him to Pilate. Then the bible declares that Jesus was crucified from noon until 3PM on Friday afternoon at Mark 15:33 that says And when the sixth hour was come (noon in Hebrew time that starts at 6AM), there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour (3PM). The prophet Amos predicted this event at Amos 8:9 that says And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day.

Now, it's important to note that Jesus was buried by Joseph of Arimathaea on Friday evening proven by Mark 15:42 that says And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath (Saturday), Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus. Mark 15:46 goes on to say And he bought fine linen, and took Him down, and wrapped Him in the linen, and laid Him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre.

OK, now we see that Jesus rose from the grave on Sunday morning proven by Mark 16:1 that says And when the sabbath (Saturday) was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint Him. And very early in the morning the first day of the week (Sunday), they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. Mark 16:4 says And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.

Now you might say Brother Bob how does the math add up to fulfill the prophecy of Matthew 12:40 that Jesus must be in the heart of the earth for three full days and three full nights when Jesus was buried on Friday evening and rose on Sunday morning? This only makes two full days and two full nights. How can we add on Friday morning and Sunday night to fulfill the prophecy?

To answer this question the bible declares that the Sabbath Saturday after Jesus was crucified on Friday was an high day during a leap year that added the extra day to fulfill the prophecy that Jesus would be three full days and three full nights in the heart of the earth. John 19:31 declares that the Sabbath after Jesus was crucified was an high day and says The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day), besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. Google tells us that a leap year is an high day because it adds an extra day to the calendar to keep it synchronized with the Earth's orbit around the sun. Hallelujah, Jesus fulfilled every prophecy of the bible to the jot and tittle and was three full days and three full nights in the heart of the earth after the cross.

OK for our second parable today Brother Bob asks my friends Can you tell me the five supernatural witnesses at Calvary? The answer is 1) The sun refused to look upon Calvary; 2) The veil in the temple pictured above ripped a stitch over Calvary; 3) The earth refused to stand still for Calvary; 4) The rocks shouted so loud that their voices cracked; 5) The graves refused to keep their mouth shut about Calvary.

This is proven by Matthew 27:45 that says Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. Matthew 27:51 goes on to say And behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after His resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. Pictured above we see that after the veil in the temple was rent, the priest was out of business and found himself in the unemployment line. When they asked the priest What can you do when he applied for a job, the priest replied I can cook biscuits.

Be encouraged though neighbor, one day soon Jesus is coming back to earth to rule and reign for 1000 years and forevermore. When Jesus returns to catch up his saints for the world's greatest airlift, can you tell Brother Bob the three casket rattling sounds that will cause the dead in Christ to awake? They are the shout of Jesus, the voice of the archangel Michael, and the trump of God stated at 1 Thessalonians 4:16 that says For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

You might say Brother Bob Why do the dead in Christ rise first before the saints alive on the earth when Jesus returns? Jesus showed Brother Bob that the dead in Christ rise first so that the living saints can see the resurrection and the dead saints can see the catching up at the same time when all the saints of God past and present rejoice forevermore with the Lord Jesus. 1 Corinthians 15:51 says Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

When Jesus returns, everything on this earth will worship the Lord Jesus. For most people if a president, king, or queen visited their house, they would stand up and respect that leader. But if the Lord Jesus came to any of our houses, we all would bow down and worship the Lord Jesus. Philippians 2:10 says That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

OK, for my third parable today, Brother Bob asks after the man pictured above was healed by Jesus after his four friends lowered him to Jesus through a roof, how many people did it take to patch the roof? The answer is no less than five because the healed man and his four friends were so happy about the healing that these five men rejoiced and were glad to patch the roof.

For my fourth parable today we see that because Rebekah showed great love and mercy to Abraham's servant by drawing water for ten thirsty camels, Rebekah was rewarded with the honor of becoming the wife of Isaac. Rebekah's love was tested by ten thirsty camels. Friends do you realize that one camel needs 26 gallons of water for one drink. Wow, Rebekah, pictured above was moving fast and carried 260 gallons of water to satisfy ten thirsty camels. In the picture above, Abraham's servant wonders with amazement and says to himself how can this little woman Rebekah carry 260 gallons and satisfy ten thirsty camels?  Friends, be encouraged and like Rebekah do Galatians 6:9: And let us not be not weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

The scripture that shows how Abraham's servant wondered how Rebekah was able to draw 260 gallons of water for ten camels is at Genesis 24:19: And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking. And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels. And the man wondering at her, held his peace, to wit, whether the Lord had made his journey prosperous or not.

OK, for my fifth parable today, Brother Bob asks what is the first place Jesus' feet will touch when he returns to the earth? To answer this question let's see what the bible says about Jesus' return to earth at Revelation 19, 20, and 21. First, the saints will be caught up in the clouds to be with Jesus like Superman and then all the saints will return to the earth with Jesus like the Lone Ranger riding on white horses to fight the beast and the false prophet at the battle of Armageddon. Jesus will first touch and split the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem with his feet while his army saints follow him through the Eastern Gate going to the valley of Megiddo where Jesus will cast the beast and false prophet alive into the lake of fire.

Jesus left this earth during his resurrection at the Mount of Olives and two men in white apparel proclaimed that Jesus would return again at this same place called the Mount of Olives. Acts 1:9 says And when He had spoken these things, while they beheld, He was taken up; and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven. Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the Mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.

Today, people want to be buried at the Mount of Olives so they can live when Jesus' feet touch the Mount of Olives. Zechariah 14:3 tells us what will occur when Jesus' feet touch the Mount of Olives when He returns to the earth and says Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when He fought in the day of battle. And His feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

When Jesus returns to this earth to rule and reign with His saints for 1000 years, an angel with a key and great chain will cast the devil into a sealed bottomless pit for 1000 years (Revelation 20:1-3). Just think and rejoice in the fact that the devil will be on the chain gang for 1000 years locked in a sealed bottomless pit, falling with no bottom. This will drive the devil crazy. Everyone will realize that the devil is a puny nothing with no power. Isaiah 14:16 tells us They that see thee (the devil) shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners? Then when the devil comes out of the bottomless pit to war against Jesus and his saints, fire will come out of heaven to destroy the devil's armies, and Jesus will cast the devil into the lake of fire where the devil will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Now after the great white throne judgment, Revelation 21:1 says And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. Notice, that after the 1000 year millennium on the first earth, Jesus will cause the first heaven and first earth to pass away, along with the sea pictured above, and Jesus will create new heavens and a new earth.

For my sixth parable today, Brother Bob will give my friends everywhere four reasons why the sea is not in the new heavens and new earth. First, there are no sins in the new heavens and earth, and pictured above according to Micah 7:19 our sins are stored in the depths of the sea never to appear again in the new heavens and earth. Second there is no separation in the new heavens and earth where any sea separates countries and nations. Third, there are no storms in the new heavens and earth because seas have storms. Fourth, the seas won't exist in the new heavens and earth to scare anyone with sharks, squids, and leviathans. The perfect love of our Lord Jesus will cast away all fear in the new heavens and earth. 1 John 4:18 tells us There is no fear in love; but perfect love (Jesus dying for our sins on the cross of Calvary) casteth out fear.

Instead of the sea, the waters of the new heavens and earth will be a peaceful and calm pure river of water of life where no raging sea will exist. The raging sea that represents wicked people without the Lord Jesus are reserved for the blackness of darkness forever in hell. Jude 13 describes these wicked people and says Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

But, friends rejoice and read the following scriptures that prove that the waters of the new heavens and earth are pure peaceful fountains of living water with no memory of any raging seas. Revelation 22:1 says And He (Jesus) shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. Revelation 21:6 says And He said unto me, It is done, I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. Revelation 7:17 tells us For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

For my final picture today and seventh parable, Brother Bob wants all my friends everywhere to realize that after the first heaven and first earth passes away, Jesus will create new heavens (not just one new heaven) and just one new earth. Pictured above, according to 2 Peter 3:13, Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Isaiah 65:17 also says For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

Be encouraged friends everywhere, the Lord Jesus cannot lie and has promised us eternal life in the new heavens and earth that will remain forever. This is proven by the following scriptures. Titus 1:2 says In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began. Isaiah 66:22 promises For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. This first heaven and earth will pass away, but rejoice friends because the saints of God will remain with eternal life having joy and peace forevermore in the new heavens and new earth. Rejoice and say Psalm 148:4 Praise Him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens.

And finally after Jesus creates the new heavens and earth, Jesus will have the new Jerusalem come down from God out of heaven to this earth and God will be with men. Revelation 21:2 says And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.
