Jesus Bought A Field To Get A Treasure

Everyone, as you look at the pictures above of the world and a treasure chest, be blessed as you read the following parable stated by our Lord Jesus. Matthew 13:44 says Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. Now notice that the man listed in the above parable bought the field and not the treasure. You might ask, Brother Bob why did the man buy the field and not the treasure? I'll give you a clue. Notice that the two pictures above show us that the treasure is hidden in the world. Therefore, the man bought the world to get the treasure.

OK, let's decipher this parable at Matthew 13:44 and allow the Holy Ghost to explain the mystery of the man buying a field to get a treasure. First, the Lord Jesus showed Brother Bob that Jesus was the man buying the field. Also note that Matthew 13:38 says the field is the world. The saved believers in Jesus as God are called Jesus' peculiar treasure in the field at Exodus 19:5 that says Now therefore if you will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure (defined as valuable property) unto me above all people; for all the earth is mine.

Note also that Psalm 135:4 says For the Lord hath chosen Jacob unto Himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure. Finally, 1 Peter 2:9 says But, ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people (defined as a preserved purchased possession that is God's valued property) that ye should shew forth the praise of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light.

Therefore, the Holy Ghost has shown us that Jesus is the man buying the field or world to get the treasure or believers in Jesus as God. Jesus paid his own blood to the devil as the purchase price to claim his saints as His peculiar treasure. This is proven by Acts 20:28 that says Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers to feed the church of God, which He (Jesus) hath purchased with His own blood. We should all praise Jesus for dying for us all and purchasing the saints with His own blood. Also, 1 Peter 1:18 says Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed (bought) with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But, with the precious blood of Christ, as of a Lamb, without blemish and without spot.

Next, you might ask why did Jesus purchase the field or the world? Why didn't Jesus just purchase the treasure or the saints? The reason Jesus purchased the world was to prove to the devil and everyone who He is, and that there is no doubt that the saints belong to Jesus. Friend reading this, Jesus bought the whole blessed world or field with His blood and Jesus owns this world. Therefore, I pray in Jesus name anyone reading this will get straightened up with landlord Jesus today and confess Jesus as God and believe in their heart that Jesus died for them and rose again.

Soon Jesus, as owner of this world is gonna raise the dead, judge the quick (defined as those among the living), judge the dead, those going to the right hand, those going to the left hand, those going to the lake of fire, and those going to life everlasting. This is proven by 2 Timothy 4:1 that says I charge thee therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ who shall judge the quick and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom.

Friends, as you look at the picture above realize that if you believe in Jesus as God, you are precious jewels and treasure that Jesus will gather out of this world to be with Him forevermore in peace in the kingdom. One day soon, Jesus is gonna take his hidden buried treasure in this world that are His saints (that have died in Christ and are alive in Christ) to the kingdom, and then Jesus is going to burn the field or the world.

The prophet Malachi proclaimed that Jesus will remember and gather out of this world his saints as treasured jewels , taking them to the kingdom and sparing them from the burning fire that will destroy this world. Take time to read Malachi 3:16-17 that says Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another, and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon His name. And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in the day when I make up (gather) my jewels (treasure); and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth Him. Hallelujah, Jesus will spare his saints from the fire that will destroy this world.

After Jesus gathers his believers as jewels to the safe kingdom, Malachi then states that Jesus will burn and destroy this world and make a new heaven and earth with no sin. Malachi 4:1 says For behold, the day cometh that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly shall be stubble; and the day that cometh shall burn them up saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in His wings, and ye shall go forth and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.

You might say Brother Bob when Jesus comes back to gather his treasure will he remember me and save me from this wicked world?  Be encouraged friend, when Jesus calls, He won't overlook any of His saints. Friends, according to the parable Jesus has hid us all in safe places in this world. Colossians 3:3 says For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God; When Christ, who is our life shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory.

Jesus won't overlook anyone because Luke 19:10 says For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Since Jesus hid the church out yonder in this world or field from any harm by the devil, I reckon Jesus oughta be able to find the church. Jesus knows everything there is to be known and Jesus ain't gonna miss a one in Africa; He ain't gonna miss a one in Alaska; He ain't gonna miss a one in China, and He ain't gonna miss a one in Russia. Jesus will not overlook any of his jewels when He comes to gather His treasure.

Friend reading this, no matter what part of the world you live in or where you come from, you have the glorious right to hear the gospel and be saved because Jesus died for the whole world and bought the entire world with His blood. Jesus is no respecter of persons. Them ole black boys down there in Africa got just as much right to hear the gospel as we do; them yellow guys over yonder in Vietnam and China got just as much right to hear the gospel as we do; them red folks out yonder in Montana got just as much right to hear the gospel as we do; Red, yellow, black, and white, they're all precious in God's sight. Therefore, whoever or wherever you are right now get saved and say Jesus is Lord and believe Jesus died for you and rose again.

Now remember as you look at the pictures above of Judas casting down 30 pieces of silver in the temple before the priests and a place named Aceldama where strangers are buried, Jesus bought this world and His treasured saints with the price of His blood. After Judas cast down the 30 pieces of silver he was paid to betray Jesus in the temple, the priests used the 30 pieces of silver (the price of Jesus' blood on the cross) to buy the potter's field (also called Aceldama or the field of blood).

OK, now take some time to read about the first picture above of how Judas cast down the 30 pieces of silver that that priests used to buy the potter's field to bury strangers in. Matthew 27:3 says Then Judas, which had betrayed Him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself and brought again the 30 pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? See thou to that.

Matthew 27:5 goes on to say And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. And the chief priests took the silver pieces and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in. Wherefore, that field was called the field of blood unto this day. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying And they took the 30 pieces of silver, the price of Him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value; And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.

Now, the second picture above which now exists in modern day Israel is a greek Orthodox monastery named St. Onophrius built next to the remains of the building called Aceldama which was a burial place for strangers in ancient Israel that the priests bought with Judas' 30 pieces of silver. Acts 1:18 says that Judas' 30 pieces of silver was used as the price of Jesus' blood to purchase Aceldama. Acts 1:18 says Now this man (Judas) purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out. And it was known unto all the dwellers of Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.

OK, as you look at the above two pictures, remember that since Jesus bought with His blood the whole world, Jesus died also for all the strangers and poor people buried in any potter's field. Today as in ancient Israel, a potter's field is used to bury strangers that don't have any relatives, no money, nowhere to be buried, no plot, no gravestone, no nothing. The potter's field is for the lowest down, the least down, and the farthest away that have nobody to help them or bury them.

I got good news for these strangers and poor folk buried in the potter's field. Jesus loves anyone rejected by the world and buried in any potter's field. Since Jesus knows where every sparrow falls, Jesus knows every grave where a poor saint is laid to rest. Thirty pieces of silver betrayed innocent blood but it bought a field of poor innocent saints.  Note also that today the world buries little innocent aborted babies in potter's fields all over this world. But, Jesus loves all these strangers, poor folk, and aborted babies that the world has rejected. Jesus marks the spot of all these saints' graves in any potter's field.

And one day soon, Jesus is gonna say to all these saints in any grave scattered around the world, Come up hither and all the saints will live forevermore with Jesus in peace. Jesus ain't gonna leave any saint in any grave. Jesus is gonna come and get all his saints just as sure as He saved them. Just as sure as Jesus came through the virgin womb of Mary at Bethlehem and went out through the clouds to glory, Jesus is coming again to take his treasured saints to the peaceful kingdom. Note that Jesus loves the poor stranger in any potter's field just as much as He loves the rich. You can go to heaven if you're poor or rich because Jesus bought the whole field. No one is outside the limits of Jesus as the Almighty God.

Friend, remember no saint is worthless with an unmarked grave in the sight of Jesus. They used to sing a song mother's not dead, she's only a sleeping just faithfully waiting for Jesus to call. The mountains are full, the hills are loaded with the treasured saints in the field, and Jesus is coming soon to gather them all to glory. Every saint in every hollow, every hill, every ocean, and every sea will soon rise to everlasting joy, peace, and life when Jesus calls and all the saints will say Here we are Lord, present and accounted for.

Hallelujah, Jesus owns the whole world and will come back soon to claim his treasured saints to be with him in the kingdom's peace forevermore proven by Psalm 24:1 that says The earth is the Lord's and the fulness thereof, the world, and they that dwell therein. Also, note that Jesus proclaimed in the Word that He owned this world when He said at Psalm 50:10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills; I know all the fowls of the mountains, and the wild beasts of the field are mine. Hallelujah, Jesus owns all the cattle upon a thousand hills and all the taters in the hills.

Friend reading this anywhere, rejoice and know that as you claim Jesus as Lord, Jesus as the owner of this world will claim you as his valued treasure. The bible promises that Jesus will gather from the four corners of this earth all that belong to Him of every tongue, kindred, nation, and people as one in Christ Jesus and take them to be with Him in the kingdom. Revelation 5:9 tells us And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof; for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests; and we shall reign on the earth.

Another place in the bible that says Jesus will gather his treasured saints out of the world to be with Him in the kingdom is at Matthew 24:30 that says And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven; and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

To conclude this bible study, remember neighbor since Jesus bought this world and now owns us as friends and treasured saints we need to praise and glorify Jesus because we are not our own. 1 Corinthians 6:19 says What, know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?  For ye are bought with a price (Jesus' blood); therefore glorify God in your body, and in your Spirit, which are God's. Note that as Jesus owns us, Jesus calls us friends and not slaves or servants. Jesus said at John 15:14-15 Ye are my friends, If ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth; but I have called you friends. for all things that I have heard of my Father, I have made known unto you.

Friend, remember in the parable, Jesus as the man sold all that He had to buy the field and get us as treasured saints. Jesus not only gave His life, Jesus gave His blood, and Jesus gave His all for every saint. Jesus truly loves you friend in any nation because He died on the cross for you and paid his blood to redeem us all from the curse of this ungodly world. Right now let's all remember how much Jesus loved us by dying on the cross for sinners and let's all praise and thank Jesus for using His own blood to buy this world and claim us all as his treasured saints. Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power, glory, and honour forevermore.
