You Must Be Lost To Get Saved

You Must Be Lost To Get Saved

To get saved everyone must first realize that they are lost and need the Lord Jesus to save them. Luke 19:10 says For the Son of man (Jesus) is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Romans 3:23 says For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. And Isaiah 64:6 says But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. Psalm 39:5 says Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah. Ecclesiastes 7:20 says For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

Therefore everyone must admit that they are lost sinners needing Jesus to get saved. Jesus told us at Luke 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.  We must realize that only faith in the Lord Jesus can save anyone. Good works without Jesus can not save anyone. Every person that lived on this earth except Jesus was born in sin. Psalm 58:3 says The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. But even though we were all born as lost sinners, God loved us and sent the Lord Jesus to save us from our sins. Acts 4:12 says Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name (Jesus) under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Now for the good news. Learn how to be blessed and get saved even though we are lost sinners. Ephesians 2:4 says But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, by grace are ye saved; And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. That in the ages to come He might shew the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again.

To Get Saved
You Do The Coming
Jesus Does The Saving

It's easy to get saved. You do the coming and Jesus does the saving according to several bible verses. First come to Jesus. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. Then let the Lord Jesus do the saving. All we have to do after we come to Jesus, is trust Jesus to save us. Jesus said at Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. In other words You do the coming and Jesus does the saving. Jesus said at John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. In other words You do the coming and Jesus does the saving. Finally Hebrews 7:25 says Wherefore He (Jesus) is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him (Jesus), seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them. In other words You do the coming and Jesus does the saving.

Therefore all it takes is faith in the Lord Jesus to get saved and become a child of God. This is proven by Galatians 3:26 that says For ye are all children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. And the Lord Jesus told us at Isaiah 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. Simply stated, without Jesus we are helpless and can't get saved. This was proven when Jesus said at John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Unfortunately many people reject Jesus and don't get saved. Jesus told us that this would happen at John 5:40 when He said And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. Jesus said at Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Jesus said at Matthew 19:30 But many that are first shall be last; and the last (who are few) shall be first.

Two Reasons Why People Don't Get Saved
1) People Remain Neutral And Fail To Choose Or Reject Jesus

The first reason why people don't get saved is because they remain neutral and fail to choose or reject Jesus. Remaining neutral and making no decision about Jesus is a rejection of Jesus that sends a person to hell and the lake of fire. Jesus said at Matthew 12:30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. Jesus rejects lukewarm neutral people who are neither cold nor hot. When you witness Jesus to these lukewarm neutral sinners, they say if Jesus makes you happy Robert, I'm glad for you. In other words this is a polite rejection of Jesus. Jesus said at Revelation 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm (neutral), and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Note the following example of a lukewarm person. This person goes to the grocery store and has to decide whether to purchase Jif or Skippy peanut butter. While he is pondering whether to choose Jif or Skippy, he's neutral and hasn't made a decision that amounts to a rejection. The same thing happens when someone is neutral and refuses to make a decision whether to accept or reject Jesus. While they are pondering whether to accept or reject Jesus they are neutral and haven't made a decision that amounts to a rejection and loss of salvation.

Don't be a lukewarm neutral person rejecting Jesus. Instead decide to accept the Lord Jesus and get saved. Revelation 22:17 says And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. Don't be neutral and put off trusting Jesus for salvation. Right now is the time to get saved before it's too late if you are reading this. The Lord Jesus said at 2 Corinthians 6:2 For He (Jesus) saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

Two Reasons Why People Don't Get Saved
2) People Trust In Their Own Good Works Instead Of Jesus For Salvation

The second reason why people don't get saved is because they trust in their own good works instead of Jesus for salvation. Our good works won't save us. Only faith in the Lord Jesus can save us. Galatians 2:21 says I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. If our good works under the law saved us then Jesus' death on the cross wouldn't matter.

Titus 3:5 says Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. 2 Timothy 1:9 says Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. And finally Ephesians 2:8 says For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Joining a church, getting baptized, being a good person, being a good parent, turning over a new leaf, or doing the best you can won't save you. Only trusting in the Lord Jesus can save you. In other words just because I walk down an aisle, shake a six foot spiritual icicle's hand, answer some questions, do some good works, get dunked in the pool, and blend in with the crowd that won't save me.

Just because someone attends church every Sunday won't save them. If I walk into a garage that doesn't make me a car. If I walk into a barn that doesn't make me a mule. If I walk into a bakery that doesn't make me a donut. I might look like one but that doesn't make me a donut. And if I walk into a church that doesn't make me a christian. I need to trust the Lord Jesus to save me and not anything else to make it to the everlasting peace of heaven. Not the blood of Jesus plus water. Not the blood of Jesus plus wafers. Not the blood of Jesus plus works. But it's the blood of Jesus plus nothing that saves a person when they accept the Lord Jesus.

A Blessed Riddle
The poor have it, The rich don't need it, and it's greater than God
Nothing
The poor have nothing, the rich don't need nothing
And nothing is greater than God

And the good news is that after anyone gets saved, they can not lose their salvation. The following scriptures prove that once anyone is saved with the Lord Jesus, they are always saved. 1 John 5:13 says These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life (after salvation you will know with a witness that you are saved with eternal life that can not be lost), and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Jesus said at John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath (presently right now) everlasting life (that can not be lost), and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. 1 Peter 1:5 says Who are kept by the power of God (not our good works) through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Once saved always saved. You don't hope to have salvation, think you might have salvation, or wait to find out if you have salvation when you die. When you get saved, repent, believe that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again, you will know by faith that you have salvation and eternal life that can not be lost. Don't trust your feelings that can doubt and say you lost your salvation. Trust God's Word by faith that says you can not lose your salvation. God is not an indian giver that gives someone salvation and then removes their salvation. The Lord Jesus said at John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me, and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Ignore people that say you have to keep doing good works to assure your salvation. If our good works saved us, we wouldn't need to trust in the Lord Jesus for salvation. God doesn't want sinners to boast that their good works saved them. God wants sinners to glorify the Lord Jesus and tell everyone that because the Lord Jesus died on the cross of Calvary and Jesus' precious blood washed away my sins, I got saved and have eternal life. 1 Corinthians 1:31 says That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

Ephesians 2:8 says For by grace are ye saved through faith (in Jesus alone); and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. You don't work to be saved. You work because you are saved. I would not work my soul to save for this my Lord has done but I would work like any slave for love of his dear Son. We do good works after salvation to let others see Jesus where later at the bema judgment seat after the rapture we will receive rewards for our good works. Ephesians 2:10 says For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

A Preacher Once Said That The Two Greatest Things In Life Are
1) Be saved and know it
2) Be in the perfect will of God and know it

To have confidence that you have salvation that can not be lost, put your trust totally in God's Word. Not by how you feel or don't feel. Not by a dream or what anyone tells you. Just trust the Word of God by faith and not yourself for salvation. Romans 10:17 says So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. John 10:28 promises salvation that can not be lost where Jesus said And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

In other words I might look like a rooster but I ain't ever been plucked out of God's hand and lost my salvation. I'm not holding God's hand where I can lose my salvation. Jesus' nail scarred hand is reaching down and holding my hand forever with the promise that Jesus gives me eternal life that can not be lost. And I can't jump out of God's hand because I'm in Christ married to Jesus and bone of His bone and flesh of His flesh (the bride of Christ). Romans 12:5 says that we are in Christ as His bride. So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. 2 Timothy 1:12 also says that we can't lose salvation with Jesus. For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He (Jesus and not our good works) is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day.

A lot of preachers doubt their salvation and think they have to keep believing and doing good works to be saved. This is wrong because the Word of God tells us that good works don't save anyone. Only faith in what the Lord Jesus has already done at the cross of Calvary when His precious blood removed sins can save. 2 Timothy 1:9 says Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. When a preacher doesn't even know if he's saved, he won't be able to witness and win souls to Jesus effectively. When anyone doubts their salvation, they will lose joy and peace. Instead keep rejoicing and believe God's promise in the Word of God that says once someone is saved they are always saved.
