Blessed Sayings

THE MOST FORGETFUL MAN IN THE WORLD

Before today's message a story about the
most forgetful man in the world

A forgetful doctor placed the above
pictured sign in his office window
Back in 20 minutes

After the doctor went to the bank to cash a check
When he returned to his office
He saw the sign and sat down for an hour

After an hour he said
This man is not coming back
So I'm going home

OK, first let's look at all the blessings seen in John 3:16
First read the poems below

For God (The Greatest Lover)
So Loved (The Greatest Degree)
The World (The Greatest Number)
That He Gave (The Greatest Act)
His Only Begotten Son (The Greatest Gift)
That Whosoever (The Greatest Invitation)
Believeth (The Greatest Simplicity)
In Him (The Greatest Person)
Should Not Perish (The Greatest Deliverance)
But (The Greatest Difference)
Have (The Greatest Certainty)
Everlasting Life (The Greatest Possession)

Behold The Breadth
For God So Loved The World

Behold The Length
That He Gave His Only Begotten Son

Behold The Depth
That Whosoever Believeth In Him
Should Not Perish

Behold The Height
But Have Everlasting Life

Finally, note that the yellow highlighted words
Gospel and Valentine appear below in John 3:16

For God So Loved The World That He Gave His
Only Begotten Son That Whosoever Believeth In Him
Should Not Perish But Have Everlasting Life

For God So Loved The World That He Gave His
Only Begotten Son That Whosoever Believeth In Him
Should Not Perish But Have Everlasting Life

Alright let's see where Jesus The Lamb Of God
Appears in the books of the old testament

In Genesis we see the Lamb promised
In Exodus we see the Lamb delivering
In Leviticus we see the Lamb worshipping
In Joshua we see the Lamb conquering
In Ruth we see the Lamb providing until the wedding
In 1 and 2 Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles
We see the Lamb administering
In Ezra we see the Lamb exhorting
In Esther we see the Lamb interceding for Israel
In Job we see the Lamb giving grace for every trial

In Psalms we see the Lamb praised
In Proverbs we see the Lamb giving wisdom
In Ecclesiastes and the Song of Solomon
we see the Lamb loving the bride

In Isaiah we see the Lamb crucified
In Jeremiah and Ezekial
we see the Lamb working all things for Israel
In Daniel we see the Lamb breaking to pieces the enemy
In Hosea we see the Lamb loving forever
(as Hosea loved the harlot Gomer)
In Joel we see the Lamb promising power
In the other minor prophets
The Lamb is glorified; bless His name

As you look at the picture above, notice that an anchor holds the ship so that the stormy winds don't move it or blow it off course. Take time to read the blessed words below of a song written by Bishop Ronald Brown. There's a storm out on the ocean; If your soul's not anchored in Jesus, you will surely drift away. As the old time preacher said, birds might fly around your head with the troubles of this world; just don't let them nest on you.

Right now get saved and anchored in Jesus and overcome the troubles of this world. Repent (make a decision to stop sinning) and make Jesus God of your life. Daily say I am crucified with Christ and covered by the blood of Jesus. Tell the devil the blood of Jesus has overcome you, evil must pass over me, and the blood of Jesus has cleansed me of all my sins.

Friends, the bible declares that Jesus is the anchor of our souls. An anchor does not take you forward. An anchor keeps you from going backward when the winds a blowin'. Hebrews 6:18 tells us that Jesus as our blessed hope is our anchor that keeps us from being moved by the storms of this life. This scripture says That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us. Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest forever after the order of Melchisedec.

If a person is not anchored in Jesus, when the pressures of this life surround him, he will be carried away with the winds of the many false doctrines and beliefs of this world. Friends everywhere, get saved and anchored in Jesus and take heed to the warning stated at Ephesians 4:13 that says Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ. That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.

As you look at the quote pictured above, note that when we compare Jesus to philosophers like Plato, Aristotle, Sophocles, Aristophanes, and Socrates, the teachings of Jesus in the Word stand above any philosopher's teaching. Note below how the teachings of Jesus are greater than the teachings of philosophers.

Philosophy is speculation; Jesus' Word is revelation
Philosophy is surmise; Jesus' Word is sanctity
Philosophy is man's little teacup mind;
Jesus' Word is God's oceanic mind
Philosophy is inquiry; Jesus' Word is declaration
Philosophy is groping; Jesus' Word is guidance.

Jesus' Word is a great palm tree
in a desert of mediocrity and fading philosophical teachings

Jesus' Word flows as a deep crystal clear river
among the many shallow babbling brooks
of empty philosophical teachings

Remember when someone says Jesus' Word is a big myth, respond
You're mythstaken, mythstified, mythinformed, and mytherable
