Incredible Revelations About The Bible

For today's bible study Brother Bob will share with his friends many incredible revelations about the bible. If you are hungry for the Word of God to learn blessed mysteries, this bible study is for you. For our first revelation we see Ruth, a Moabitess pictured above with her mother in law Naomi, who was blessed as she represented the 11'th generation of Moabites. You might say what is so significant about Ruth being the 11'th generation of Moabites obtaining the blessing of being one of our Lord Jesus' grandmothers?

The answer to this question can be found at a prophecy in God's Word that stated that it would take ten generations to clean up the Moabites and bless any Moabite. Take time to study Deuteronomy 23:3 that says An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the Lord for ever. Now friends remember that God's Word is true and Ruth proved that this prophecy was true because Ruth was part of the 11'th generation of Moabites and because God can not lie, Ruth was allowed to be blessed and enter into the congregation of the Lord Jesus for ever as she was delivered from the ten generations of Moabite curses.

To prove that Ruth was the 11'th generation of the Moabites, take time to study Jesus' grandparents in His family tree at Matthew 1. Now as Brother Bob writes out Matthew 1 take time to count to eleven and you will find that Ruth truly was the blessed 11'th generation that escaped the ten cursed generations of Moabites. Matthew 1 says The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the son of Abraham (one). Abraham begat Isaac (two); and Isaac begat Jacob (three); and Jacob begat Judas (four) and his brethren; and Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; And Phares (five) begat Esrom (six); And Esrom begat Aram (seven); And Aram begat Aminadab (eight); And Aminadab begat Naasson (nine); And Naasson begat Salmon (ten) And Salmon begat Booz (eleven) of Rachab; And Booz begat Obed of Ruth (eleven) (wow Ruth a Moabite and her husband Boaz were listed as the 11'th blessed generation of Jesus' grandparents).

Friend, remember that God's Word can not lie. The Word said that a Moabite would not be blessed until the 11'th generation and Ruth fulfilled this prophecy. Numbers 23:19 promises us God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent; hath He said, and shall He not do it, or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good? Romans 3:4 tells us Let God be true and every man a liar. Friends remember that the bible is true and every promise listed in the Word of God will happen. Stand on the blessed promises listed in God's Word and rejoice in all the blessed promises listed in the Word which are certain to occur.

OK, for our second revelation, let's look at another blessed grandmother of Jesus named Tamar pictured above with Judah. As you look at the above family tree for Judah pictured above, take time to look at Genesis 38:2 that says And Judah saw there a daughter of a certain Canaanite, whose name was Shuah; and he took her, and went in unto her; And she conceived, and bare a son, and he called his name Er. And she conceived again, and bare a son; and she called his name Onan. And she yet again conceived, and bare a son; and called his name Shelah; and he was at Chezib, when she bare him. And Judah took a wife for Er his firstborn, whose name was Tamar.

Notice the bible states that Judah initially had three boys from an unnamed daughter of Shuah the Canaanite named Er, Onan, and Shelah. Genesis 38 goes on to say that after Er married Tamar, Er died for being wicked. Then Judah told the second son Onan to marry Tamar and raise up seed for Er. Onan refused to do this and also was killed. Then Judah promised Tamar that when Shelah the third son was grown, he would be given to her as a husband. But Judah jilted or lied to Tamar and did not give Shelah to Tamar.

As a result, Tamar tricked Judah pictured above, causing Judah to make Tamar pregnant and be the father of twins named Pharez and Zarah listed on Judah's family tree pictured above. It's interesting to note that Zarah's hand came out first as the twins were born, and the midwife (representing man's ways) chose Zarah as the firstborn by placing a scarlet thread on Zarah's hand. Genesis 38:28 says And it came to pass, when she travailed, that the one put out his hand; and the midwife took and bound upon his hand a scarlet thread, saying, This came out first. And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out; and she said, How hast thou broken forth? this breach be upon thee; therefore his name was called Pharez. And afterward came out his brother, that had the scarlet thread upon his hand; and his name was called Zarah.

But, God chose the other child Pharez to be the firstborn whose children (not Zarah's children) were listed as Jesus' grandparents at Matthew 1:3 that says And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares (note not Zara) begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram. The midwife chose Zarah as the firstborn to be blessed, but God by grace blessed Pharez and his children with the firstborn blessing.

As a side note, take time again to study Jesus' family tree of grandparents listed at Matthew 1 and you will find four crooked branches in Jesus' family tree. One, a jilted Jew named Tamar; two, a mistress Jew named Bathsheba; three, a widowed Moabite named Ruth; and four, a pagan harlot named Rahab. Also note that Rahab the prostitute and her husband Salmon were the parents of Boaz who married Ruth, a gentile from Moab.

You might say Brother Bob why were Jesus' grandparents prostitutes like Rahab and Tamar, a gentile like Ruth, and an adulteress like Bathsheba. The answer can be found at Luke 5:32 where Jesus said I came not call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. As we all remember the family tree of Jesus listed at Matthew 1 and all the sinners Jesus had as grandparents, we can praise God for taking mud out of the hogpen and making a beautiful pure white snowflake. Friend reading this, if you have done terrible sins in your life, remember like Rahab, Tamar, and Bathsheba, you can be forgiven as the blood of Jesus cleanses away any past sins in your life. Right now confess Jesus as God and believe in your heart that Jesus died for you and rose again and be free of all your past sins as a blessed child of God.

OK, for our third revelation today we see a man named Malchus whose ear was healed by Jesus after Peter attacked Malchus. Jesus did not allow Peter to harm Malchus because Jesus never allowed anyone to die in His presence. Even dead people that came across the path of Jesus like Lazarus and Jairus' daughter were raised from the dead. No one ever died when Jesus was present. Jesus did not allow Peter's sword to hit Malchus' head, as Peter's sword only grazed Malchus' ear which Jesus healed quickly. Wow, what a blessing to know that no one, not even Malchus, (Jesus' enemy), could die when Jesus was present.

What a lot of people don't realize though is that Malchus was one of the witnesses that testified against Peter when Peter denied the Lord Jesus three times. John 18:26 says One of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with Him? Peter then denied again; and immediately the cock crew. Wow, a preachin chicken met a chicken preacher. And how could Peter deny the witness of Malchus, the very man who he attacked in the garden of gesthemene. But, Peter's denial of Jesus had to occur because of Jesus' true prophecy that before the cock crow twice, Peter would deny Jesus thrice listed at Mark 14:30.

OK, for our fourth revelation today we see pictured above a man named Ahithophel frowning before king Absalom as Hushai tells king Absalom to disregard Ahithophel's advice. Ahithophel wanted Absalom to fight against David and remove David as the king. You might say why was Ahithophel against David? What did David do to make Ahithophel angry?

The answer to this question requires the holy spirit to reveal that Ahithophel was the grandfather of Bathsheba. Ahithophel was angry at David for getting his granddaughter Bathsheba pregnant and then killing Bathsheba's husband named Uriah the Hittite. The scriptures that prove that Ahithophel was Bathsheba's grandfather are listed at 2 Samuel 11:3 that says And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam (note Eliam was the father of Bathsheba), the wife of Uriah the Hittite. Now look at 2 Samuel 23:34 that says Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite. In the picture above, after Absalom chose Hushai's advice instead of Ahithophel's advice, Ahithophel hung himself and died, as David and his army were spared.

OK, for our fifth revelation today we see pictured above a man named Pashur persecuting the prophet Jeremiah. The story about the above picture can be found at Jeremiah 20 and says Now Pashur the son of Immer the priest, who was also chief governor in the house of the Lord, heard that Jeremiah prophesied these things. Then Pashur smote Jeremiah the prophet and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the Lord. And it came to pass on the morrow, that Pashur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then said Jeremiah unto him, The Lord hath not called thy name Pashur, but Magormissabib.

Jeremiah 20:4 goes on to say For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will make thee a terror to thyself, and to all thy friends; and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thine eyes shall behold it. Notice that the name Pashur in hebrew is freedom and Magormissabib is defined as a terror on every side. Wow, because Pashur persecuted and harmed the prophet Jeremiah he lost his freedom and faced terror on every side. Friend reading this, learn a lesson from this story and do not mock prophets or the Lord Jesus. Heed the warning of 2 Chronicles 36:16 that says But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

For our final revelation today we see pictured above a woman named Michal who despised her husband David for praising the Lord before the ark. The story about the above picture can be found at 2 Samuel 6:16 that says And as the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal, Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart. 2 Samuel 6:20 goes on to say Then David returned to bless his household; And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the King of Israel today, who uncovered himself today in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself.

2 Samuel 6:21 goes on to say And David said unto Michal, It was before the Lord which chose me before thy father, and before all his house to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord over Israel. Therefore will I play before the Lord. And I will yet be more vile than thus and will be base in mine own sight, and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour. Therefore, Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.

Woman and wives, learn a lesson from Michal pictured above who was punished and could not have children because she despised and was ashamed of her husband David's praise unto God. Women don't be ashamed when your husband is worshipping and praising Jesus. If your husband is praising God and jumping pews, edge him on; Join in if the spirit is in it. Don't act like a stiff laced, stone faced church where you can hear a pin drop at the loudest part of the sermon.

Be like Brother Bob and when you see someone shouting praise for Jesus, tell them to shout louder. Remember, Jesus said at Matthew 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But, whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Also, 1 Thessalonians 5:19 says Quench not the Spirit.

As christians we must forbid any time where we get so formal that we are ashamed to worship God in Spirit and in truth. Women reading this, learn not to be like Michal, who was a jealous, outspoken, and boisterous woman who tried to control her husband David. King Solomon described Michal at Proverbs 11:22 As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion. Wow, even though a woman could be a perfect ten and beautiful on the outside, if she denies the Lord Jesus and hampers the praise of her husband, she is like a piece of jewelry on a pig's nose that has no beauty at all.

Men reading this also learn a lesson from Michal and choose your wives carefully. It's better to have a wife that loves the Lord Jesus who has no shame in praising our Lord Jesus, than to have a wife who wants nothing to do with the Lord Jesus, even though she might be the most beautiful model on this earth. Proverbs 21:9 says It is better to dwell in the corner of a housetop (or live in the attic) than with a brawling woman in a wide house. Proverbs 6:26 also warns men that For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread; and the adultress will hunt for the precious life. Finally Proverbs 21:19 says It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

Finally, note how David responded to Michal when she accused him of showing off to the maidservants as he praised the Lord. David said to Michal, woman I want to let you know that I was not showing off to the maidservants, I was showing off to the Lord Jesus, and the next time you see me praising the Lord Jesus, I'll get uglier and baser and not worry about what you or anyone says about my praise. Brother Bob has heard many people say as I leaped and shouted for Jesus, Brother Bob aren't you afraid of what people will say about you when you jump and run for Jesus. Be like Brother Bob and say they're gonna talk about me anyway no matter what I do, so give them something good to talk about and run, leap high, and shout for Jesus forevermore.
